I am sorry, DR elmore3003. How very vexing.
Checked this week's Met listings, and we have a 2009 Les Contes d’Hoffmann tonight. Anna Netrebko. Production by Bartlett Sher. I think I liked this one, but I'll probably watch it regardless. I'm in the mood.
I just learned that my long line publicity client, Henry Darrow, has passed away at age 87.
(Sept. 15, 1933 - March 14, 2021)
Rest in peace, my friend. You will be missed.
TOD:

Rich Man, Poor Man - although it went to series later, I liked the miniseries best.
Jacqueline Susann's Valley of the Dolls - Lisa Hartman as Neely O'Hara, a glam rock singer and Jean Simmons as Helen Lawson.

Ooh, I somehow missed Valley of the Dolls for TV.
Okay, I'm scheduled to be stimulated on Wednesday.

A Facebook friend sent me this link to the NY Dept. of Labor page, and I think all is good now.

High Chaparral was must-see viewing in our house. Both of my sisters had crushes on Darrow.
BK, would you consider doing a musical quote of one of your songs as a perk and we can choose the song?
Wow.
DR George, Betsy Joslyn has been married to my friend Mark Mitchell for several years now. She's one of my Facebook friends as well. I've known Mark since he and I worked on Pal Joey with Patti Lupone and Peter Gallagher for Encores! years ago.

Lots and lots of examples on that page. It’s incredible how we were able to grow up taking classical music in cartoons for granted.
Not to mention the craft and artistry of the cartoons themselves.
58%!
I just spoke to the wonderful Suad Hassan, who signed me up for unemployment last June. She works with our state rep Jose Serrano and she told me everyone has to re-apply for unemployment. She told me that if I had not heard from a NY Dept. of Labor person by Friday to give her a call. We chatted a bit and I mentioned what a hard time I had getting a vaccine appointment, and she said "why didn't you give me a call?" I think she's a good person to have on your side!
Listening to another Reynaldo Hahn operetta, L'Ile du reve. I didn't really love the other one I heard, but this thing is seriously beautiful.
Then at the end of the day, my boss, whom I really like, announced that she's leaving within 3 weeks due to health reasons.
Many people called out sick today, leaving just me and one other person to handle the call volume by ourselves (200 calls).
Drizzling on and off - the day can't make up its mind. But just had a nice telephonic conversation with someone in Australia and there will be most fascinating news very soon.

So, this call from Australia has to do with an Aussie production of The Brain from Planet X and an HHW get-together?
Sandy Bainum's husband is trying to buy The Baltimore Sun.

Interesting. I'd never heard of any paper being bought so that it could be a non-profit. Good luck to Sandy Bainum's husband!

I can finish it up in the next couple of days. Depending on whether I have time.
I don't think I have the patience for a movie tonight.
Thank you for all the vibes. I don't expect any problems with tomorrow's ultrasound; the doctor just needs a fresh one before the April surgery. These procedures have been in the works for TWO YEARS now, delayed and cancelled and rescheduled numerous times, partly due to Covid and partly due to conflicts and such on my end. Covid has really thrown a monkey wrench into health care.
DR Jane, I meant to thank you for mentioning the glycine. I used it some years ago, but I don't think it was to help me sleep. Your optometrist sounds like she's really trying to help you. I've had the impression you like her and don't want to change.

TCB, how is the inhaler working? I had been wondering if one would help you. I'm sorry you have to go through all this. It's bad enough to have health problems, you shouldn't have to go through bureaucratic hoops as well. Alas, that is today's medical system. I hope you find something that helps -- soon.

Maybe they want to stream Tonight's the Night, but can't they do that now? Well, not now they can't. Australia has been very active with film production since they have Covid under control. Lots of possibilities.

Ohhhhh, Hugh Jackman will be doing the next Kritzerland show!!

Any newspaper you buy in this day and age is going to end up being a non-profit decision.
Excellent news - then you can simply take all the rest of the perks! :)
George, did you watch Colbert’s monologue?
