Well, you've read the notes, the notes were at 88% and had something about project two, and now it is time for you to post until the project two cows come home.

I'm glad I got the Li'l Abner complete score score just now!  I found THIS eBay listing (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Piano-Conductors-Score-LIL-ABNER-Musical-Comedy-Tams-Witmark-Songs/184624843017) for the Tams-Witmark piano conductor's score for only $1,493.99 ... plus $13.50 shipping! :o

I slept rather well until 3:00, after which it mostly dozed.  Annabelle showed up to vrawl under the blankets for warmth, and Stella settled for a bit, then ran awat, then returned, then settled . .

I had two dreams I partially remember, one with the late, great Rebecca Luker, and a strange one with conductor Rob Fisher, who's never been much of a fan of my work.

Today is biopsy hell, and since I have no idea of what will occur or if there will be any issues after, I'm a bit apprehensive. I have to be at the hospital on East 64th by 10:30 for a 12:30 procedure.  I hope I will be home by 4. I will leave the babies plenty of dry food to tide them over.

Congrats on the Li'l Abner, DR George. If I didn't have my own copy, I would certainly have leapt at that, too.

I wonder how many years that score has been out of print. I first bought it around 1964-65 and it was almost certainly among my first -- oh, probably seven or eight -- vocal scores. Just as with my other ones then, I was thrilled to be able to put actual notes to those great numbers I was hearing on the cast album. It soon thereafter became my first ever show to play in, on the piano in a junior theater pit of 8 or 10 players, and that was a real thrill.

Then somehow or other, at some point it joined half a dozen of my other scores in becoming lost. LOST! It had to have happened while I was away at school and my family was moving from Florida back to Ohio. A small pile of scores either got lost in the shuffle, or my family somehow decided "oh, he doesn't need these old things any more". When I went to replace it some years later, I found it was no longer available, and it wasn't till much later still that I nabbed a hardcover copy off eBay. It wasn't a publisher's hardcover, just a library binding, but a nice looking one. No one had ever made a mark in it, and I appreciate that the pages are well protected.

One last thing: in my last stretch at the Drama Book Shop between 1986 and 1997, Hal Leonard reprinted at the request of the shows' agents the vocal scores to Li'l Abner, The Apple Tree, and Little Mary Sunshine.  I ordered my usual 10 copies of each that sold out immediatelky and they scores went back out of print.  Had I known, I would have ordered 100 copies of each!

I should like to lodge a complaint.

Shortly after waking up this morning, I was still lying in bed when I suddenly sneezed. The sneeze seemed innocent enough, just a brief early morning allergy type of thing. But a minute later I sneezed again. Then another moment went by and I sneezed a dozen times.

Stumbling around getting coffee and whatnot, another dozen sneezes. And then another dozen. I continued blowing out all the excess STUFF in my nose and finally got it under control, and began to feel "dry" again. But that was an hour ago and let's face it, you're never dry until you're really and truly dry. If you catch my drift. I'm still sneezing occasionally, and my sinuses feel like the whole thing could go up in flames at any moment.

So it's a crappy allergy day, right out of the blue. Yesterday was beautiful. We had windows open airing out the jernt all afternoon, with not so much as a sniffle. Last night we turned the heat back on and everything's back to normal inside the house except for my horrible NOSE.

I guess I will never learn, but I should never read Thomas Hardy at night. What a sadist he was. The last 50 or so pages have been the usual torture of people destroying everything and everyone around them because of their absurd upbringings and notions of class. It actually interfered with my sleep.

Monday morning greetings!  Yes, I’ve been E & T for a while because my sister, niece, and I took part in a huge virtual card making event.  I was in my craft corner and on my computer most of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  We had fun and learned a lot and I tried to spend my spare moments with Richard.

The photos you put up on FB are beautiful.

Thank you, DR Jane!

Thank you. Three weeks from today and we will be holding her.

Ten days for us!  Although I wonder how much either of our granddaughters will put up with being held...

;D  Very true.  Cuddle or book reading or something.  I won't be able to hold her the way I imagined when she was a baby.  She is taking her first steps on her own now.  She will likely be running by the time we see her.

We arrive in 10 days but I am not sure it will be early enough to see her.

Yikes!! :o

Welcome to rational Mercury (in emotional Pisces) squaring off against powerful Mars (in restless Gemini). There’s a whole lot of conflicting cosmic energy converging now, so when people try to rush you to make decisions, this aspect leads you to feel irritable and even hostile, which isn’t a good look for you.

The thing is, irrational thinking can lead to much more than just little annoyances—when pushed to make decisions during this aspect, it can result in taking dangerous risks and coming to very unhealthy conclusions. If you can take a break to collect your thoughts before signing important papers or answering someone’s urgent life-altering question, that would be great.

I got to the hospital around 10:15, checked in and waited for maybe 15-30 minutes to see another lady to pay my $300, give her my contact info for pickup, and sign a lot of releases.  Then I had to wait for a room afor over 30 minutes - thank God I brought a book! - once I was naked and all of my clothes and belonging were in a huge plastic bag, I was told there was a delay.  Both Drs Glickman and Yamany stopped by to answer questions and offer advice, as well as the anesthetist, they finally put me into a wheelchair and took me up to the operating room.  There, the doctors, anesthetist, others assisting, and I had a series of discussions on how the hell to get a cripple with no balance out of a wheelchair and onto a small table and into foot stirrups.

I kept saying give me the anesthesia and, when I'm unconscious, you can have your way with me.  That didn't work, but they finally got me onto the table and the painful ordeal of the stirrups and positioning me.  Then they knocked me out.  When I came to in recovery, it was 4:30, and I couldn't be released until I proved my bladder worked and I needed no catheter.  Dr Glickman stopped by and told me that it all went well, I peed, and they released me.  My poor friend Jason had been waiting for me since 3:30.

I had to see my surgeon today, but it was uneventful. Traffic was relatively light -- this is LA, so emphasis on "relatively" -- I found parking on the street (MUCH cheaper than the parking garage), and the meter even had 50 minutes on it! The doctor and I had a nice little chat about the next procedure and the nurse supplied even more paperwork.

I treated myself to two comfort food tacos afterwards.

The last hour after feeding that cats was pure hell. Annabelle pulled a Stella, climbed from the file cabinet next to the computer table onto the CD case and brought down all the books onto the printer.  After screaming, yelling and throwing things at her, I had to pull the table out, put everything back, only to find out that the process had unplugged the WiFi modem.  I had to pull the table out, crawl around, untangle cords till I found the plug I needed, insure everything was back up and running, and put the table back.  I had planned on a quiet night reading my post-op instructions and doing little.

I do love her, but when she and Stella start romping, I never know what the hell will happen.

I am having my soup and going to bed.

I also started listening to Nick, the prequel to The Great Gatsby. The first quarter is a little too depressing. He's in the war, he's in Paris, he meets a girl. She aborts his baby. He goes back to the war. But it's cheerier than the Thomas Hardy.

So, as always on the B'way Facebook groups, some ninny started a thread about how "dated" The King and I is and how offensive it is, and that Yul Brynner should be cancelled for doing it and the stupidity on view is breathtaking. Many of us tried logically to explain the obvious but that just makes these PC woke morons double down and they ALL revert to calling you a racist. That's always the default when you argue with these cretins. But I take them on because someone needs to (others take them on to) and then when I feel I've made them look inane enough and there's no more to say, I block their sorry ASSES. I just got a lovely PM from Charles Busch who told me thanks for taking them on and doing it so well and that he adores me. I adore him, too, of course, and have ever since a memorable dinner in the late 1990s attended by Julie Wilson, Charles, Jason Graae, Judy Blazer, and a few others. That was a night to remember.

John G and others may be interested to know that THE BROKENWOOD MYSTERIES S7 starts next week. I was just wondering about it yesterday. It's on Acorn TV and possibly Amazon Prime video.

My brother is excited.

Good for you!  And a dinner with you and Julie Wilson, Charles Busch, Jason Graae AND Judy Blazer??  I can only imagine the dirt that was dished! ;D

Iowa lost and so my watching schedule for the next 10 days just opened up!

No need to follow the NCAA again this year.

You could cheer on Gonzaga with me, Jack.

That dinner was so grand and fun - and yes, much dish, as you might imagine. And I must tell you, when I saw Julie Wilson at the Gardenia a decade later, I was brought to her after and I said, "You probably won't remember me" and before I could get anything else out, she said, with her incredible twinkling eyes, "Of course I remember you - what a dinner that was."
