Well, you've read the notes, the notes were at 89% and spent time with two ballets, and now it is time for you to post until the ballet cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EMULOUS!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Well, I survived, and so far all looks good: no blood in the urine - which I was advised to look out for - is a very positive sign, so I guess there were no major punctures in yesterday procedure. Dr Glickman told me that 18 samples were taken, six from the problematic site and twelve around it, which sounds thoroughly grisly.
-
I had my soup, washed up my dishes and trhe cats, got into bed, and read my mail. I received an envelope of forms from the NY Dept of Labor postmarked March 15, a week ago, denying my unemployment for not work enough last year to qualify. Only, this morning, there was a deposit into my bank account!
-
I will call Suad later this morning, and we'll discuss this megillah.
-
BK, you raved about "The Cellist" in the posts on Aug. 28, 2020. You wrote:
The Hilary and Jackie film is largely fiction. I found a beautiful ballet about Jacqueline last night - don't know how long it will be up but I just kind of loved it. It's called The Cellist. Here's a link: https://youtu.be/ycBFo4FEMQM
-
I am taking it easy today, just my bed, my TV, and my cats. Tomorrow, if I'm up to the trip, I will go to my pharmacy for my eyedrops.
-
BK, I missed that King & I series of posts, but thank you for jumping in. I've pissed off a number of the PC crowd with their issues on Show Boat, Irma la Douce, and other shows. It wouldn't surprise me if one of these morons is behind my frequent visits to Facebook jail.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Glad you are resting, DR elmore3003. That truly sounds horrific.
-
I have no pearls of wisdom to contribute at this time.
-
By my calculation, the campaign will have to achieve $6,750 to tick over to 90%.

RE: TOD
-
The other show that seems to put the panties kn a bunch of the PC morons is Gigi. Oh, God, do they rant about pedophilia and sordid prostitution.
One of the funniest bits about Colette's novella Gigi is that she turns down her family's occupation as elegant courtesans for marriage to a wealthy man.

RE: TOD
Well, some of us can't resist letting those fools know what fools they are! ;)
-
Good morning, all.
-
Huge thunderstorm came rolling in around 2 am.
It woke me up. But not for long.
-
TOD:
Popularity is its own form of cancel culture. Everything comes and goes in waves.
-
I don’t think the works of Norman Lear would be as welcome as they were before.
-
Two more victims of the PC brigade: Annie Get Your Gun and the Encores! I Married An Angel.
-
Good morning, all.
-
And welcome back, DR Elmore!
-
My weekly unemployment thing landed this morning, too, but about a week ago we were indeed informed that after a year you have to reapply again! My "anniversary" from last year's application comes up in April. If I'm reapplying based on the exact same twelve months, there will be absolutely nothing there. Because of, you know, that pesky virus. And then what?
-
I look to the day that the whole woke brigade itself gets cancelled.
-
Kitty cleanup accomplished, bed made, recyclables taken to basement, packages picked up and opened, breakfast and morning meds out of the way, and I am ready to spend the remainder of the day taking it easy.
-
I only sneezed five times. I have a ways to go to catch up with DR ChasSmith.
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
Things are moving along. Tomorrow is the day I am supposed to be stimulated, so we shall see.
-
DR TCB very well.....I shall root for Gonzaga.....even though their victory will match that of Indiana University for an undefeated season......in a march to the NCAA Championship.
-
TOD:
If someone doesn't like something - okay. Why must you get EVERYONE else to share your wrong opinion? Why do you need the validation of others to make your opinion real?
I try not to argue on Facebook.....it's fool of idiots.
-
HA! Charles Busch. I directed a production of Vampire Lesbians of Sodom in 1998 - and it was heldover for a few weeks.....we began as a Midnight Show.....and then had two or three weeks as a regular attraction. Here are King Carlisle, Renee Vain, and Baby Ambrose Kelly.

Yet another poseur hanging out amongst the professionals, probably hoping some of it will rub off.
-
In the meantime, the Benadryl did its job. I had a pretty solid sleep and, so far, am "dry" today.
And wouldn't you know it...I'm about to go outside and do some work clearing some brush and other fun things.

I am happy that we are having Spring weather. It was so nice yesterday that I was biking in a t-shirt. The next 3 days are supposed to be nice and warm. But by Saturday it will be cool again and we will probably have snow. :(

I hope DR VIXMOM is doing better.
DR JANE I don't think I ever had a fever. I thought I did, on Saturday/Sunday morning.....but when I used the thermometer, I was proven wrong.
-
DR ELMORE I always like to have the opportunity to mention those who are helpful by name.....
-
Got my income tax return, which will be used for pest control. Oh, fun.
-
Thanks for the vibes DR TCB.
-
TOD. To quote from "Frozen" - "I'm never going back, the past is in the past. Let it go!"
I'll stop there, but I'm on the same page as bk about the "Cancel Culture" - I've stopped talking to many people because of their opinions on history. It's exactly that - history. My favorite was someone who started a petition to give California back to the Native Americans.

I’m still waiting on season six from the library.

I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep.

Good Afternoon - just a lovely day here in Area of the Bay. Still a little cold for my test, but April is around the corner and I hope so are warmer temps. It's been a rather cold winter for the area. Other than that, business as usual.
-
Did you get your contact, Matthew?

:)
-
Another no-action day, at least thus far.
-
No action day......that means you can ride the bus for fifty cents.
-
THREE!!! THREE!!! THREE!!!

:)
I love it.

This picture turned up on a horror film board I sometimes browse late at night to get drowsy by. It's rather amazing.
First, I have never seen that many cats brought somewhere, all looking so calm and relaxed (not only in the strange place, but with all the other cats around), like they were used to doing this every day. Second, they're all on leashes, and most cats have to be taught to tolerate a collar - let alone a leash - at an early age. Third, every leash is attached to the collar, like you can do with a dog, but cats are supposed to be in harnesses with the leash attached to that. I wonder how many strangulations there were by the end of the day. :)
Lastly, it's just a great photo - everything perfectly captured, nicely focused, and a pleasure to look at for a moment at a studio in 1962.
Plus, Producers Studios - where NUDIE was filmed?
-
Did you get your contact, Matthew?
Not yet, I'm told it's coming and there's a reason it's behind. I've chosen not to ask but to wait until it actually shows up.

Hello, everyone.
-
It's a beautiful day here -- windy and a bit cool, but bright sun. Just lovely, IMHO.
-
I had a productive day. I had my teeth cleaned, then saw that the little bakery next door had reopened. I bought a couple mini pies, just because I always feel I've earned if after being at the dentist for anything. Then a browse through the newish (opened last September) bookstore, always a treat. From there I drove to a watch store, expecting to buy a new watch band. But no, the proprietor said all I needed was a new buckle and fixed it for me promptly for no charge. Very nice! There was a new-to-me Mexican restaurant a couple doors down. No veggie tacos on the menu, but they made some for me at 99-cent Taco Tuesday prices. They were small, but quite tasty. I believe they make their own corn tortillas. I'll be back, especially since my old favorite burrito spot changed management and the quality plummeted.

Some Valley of the Dolls fan ought to grab that French poster - it's a really good bargain.
-
Yes, that's Producer's Studio where we shot Nudie. In fact, it's the back side of the second or third shot, which is the front side of that row of offices.
-
RE: TOD
That's funny and no doubt true.
-
Is anyone here who can post on Talkin' Broadway's All that Chat?
-
DR Jeanne - thank you for letting us know about Brokenwood.
I’m still waiting on season six from the library.
Acorn TV still offers monthly memberships, I think, at $4.99/month. A person could watch a lot of shows in one month!
-
Indiegogo vibes for BK.

I can't find the time to watch the DVDs I own that I haven't seen yet. Plus, the ones that come in at the library.

Warm day today. Got into the 80s. Did some yard work after walking and my hair was all wet from sweating.
-
Is anyone here who can post on Talkin' Broadway's All that Chat?
Is that viper's nest still in business?
-
my hair was all wet
Could you do a thing with it?

Good night, friends.

Good night.

This morning George Segal passed away due to complications from bypass surgery. He was 87.
-
We are going to watch NO WAY TO TREAT A LADY.
-
Four!
-
Just read that about George Segal. I really liked him in No Way as well as California Split and a Touch of Class.

Oh, no! I always like him. :(

Watching an odd, very Catholic Italian film called Seduced and Abandoned, about an unmarried girl who finds herself pregnant. Her family treats her like trash because she’s a disgrace. It’s supposed to be funny but it isn’t. The guy who impregnated her doesn’t want to marry her because he thinks he deserves a virgin. Ugh. Nobody in the movie is worth caring about.
This is the third time I have tried to watch it. I’ve made an hour this time. But I still don’t think I will finish it.
-
Hi, George.
-
87 is a pretty great run, especially as he worked right till the end.
-
Went back to the mail place - two more packages they forgot to give me. Got some tiny cupcakes next door and came home and ate one and have been listening to music.
-
Not sure what I'd watch - I have that thing called Ted Lasso here, but it isn't calling me.
-
Hi, George.
Hi, John.
-
Gratuitous post No. 100!
-
After last night's brilliant ballet discs, I guess I'll do for ballet what I did for opera. I got a couple more with Lauren Cuthbertson, who starred in The Cellist. Romeo and Juliet is one, and Alice in Wonderland with original music by someone is another.
-
Has anyone ever had a carrot cake pie? Came across the recipe today. It sounded really good to me.
-
Ain't Supposed to Die a Natural Death is coming back to Broadway. I wish someone would release the album on CD. I never could find it on vinyl.
-
Good night, all.
-
Finished with my viewing and with my viewing I'm finished.
-
Awfully quiet around these here parts.
-
Listening to an upcoming release.
-
Why shouldn't I be?
-
Just read that about George Segal. I really liked him in No Way as well as California Split and a Touch of Class.
We should warch Touch of Class again, after Where's Poppa.

I know, beginning in 1960. He had a great run and was wonderful on The Goldbergs.

Breaking News!
Two people shot in downtown Puyallup. Not near me.
-
I think one of the earliest movies that I saw him in and learned who he was was The Duchess and the Dirtwater Fox, co-starring Goldie Hawn. My sister and I saw that on TV and I remember that we both liked it...but I'm sure that there was quite a bit that we didn't understand. ::)
;D
