Well, you've read the notes, the notes were at 96% and had a blurb, and now it is time for you to post until the blurbed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FRENETIC!
-
BK, my vote would be that the piano/conductor scores be listed individually. Those are the sorts of things where people probably just want a specific score, unless they're really inexpensive. Then, I'd say groupings, but definitely not one big lot. Just my 2¢.
-
That's a very nice blurb for the new book! Can't wait to read it!
-
I think that listing the new book on Indiegogo would be a good thing. Those who want the book will get the book regardless, so if it helps with the campaign, go for it. :)
-
I've looked at the prices on eBay and most of what I have vocal score-wise goes from forty for the easy stuff to seventy and eighty for the rarer titles. So, I'll put those up tomorrow, along with the book pre-order.
-
Just had another late-night contribution, but it was one of the ten-dollar no perk perks so nothing changed. But still, every little bit helps. I found vocal scores for Cabaret and Funny Thing and Do I Hear a Waltz. I had no idea I also had Street Scene and Lady in the Dark.

Cool. I have Forum, and I'm pretty sure that I have Waltz. I have most, if not all, of Sondheim's scores.
-
Time for bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Today's notes were jam-packed with tidbits.
-
I agree with DR George and his reasoning for the vocal scores and the new book vis-a-vis the campaign.
However, I do wonder... money given for the novel pre-order, wouldn't that cover the cost and shipping of the books? Therefore, wouldn't really be available money toward the Blu-Ray release?
-
Nice blurb!
-
Can't wait to see bk's "movie marathon classic" preview. It sounds classic! :)
-
The imminent 2-CD release also sounds quite intriguing.
-
A French opera, in French.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I had a pretty good night of sleep. Stella's needy "pet me hold me" routine began a bit after 3:00, about the same time Annabelle crawled under the blankets. It got really chilly last night.
-
I had a strange dream about The Yearling, a film I don't believe I've ever seen or book I've never read. And now one of the songs from the musical version, "One Promise Come True," keeps running through my head!
-
I'm taking it easy again today. Tomorrow I need a run to my pharmacy for my eye drops and I think I may do laundry on Friday, depending on the state of the laundry room. I like our building super Jeff, but he's no Val, and he lets the trash pile up before he removes it and it's a major nuisance negotiating the trip to the washers on a walker.
-
BK, let me recommend a few ballet DVDs I think you might like. The first DVD is taken from a series of NYC Ballet performances in Paris, and it includes Balanchine's great macabre ballet about Death and the Maiden, La Valse, to Ravel's "Valses nobles et sentimentales" and "La Valse." The older videos on YouTube are shaky and out of focus.
I'm also a big Frederick Ashton fan, and I think you might like these two, Messager's love story, The Two Pigeons, and his very funny La Fille Mal Gardée, about an old mother's attempts to keep her virginal daughter away from the man she loves to marry the rich landowner's moronic son.
-
Four years ago today DR JohnG came to Manhattan to see The New Yorkers at Encores! We had lunch at the Brooklyn Diner.
-
Sad to hear about George Segal's death, but what a long and rewarding life he had. I met him at the Drama Book Shop in the late 1980s or ealy 1990s, and he was very kind. I think he liked the fact that I rold him I loved his recording. I really did!

.
-
Love the photo of DRs elmore3003 and John G.
-
I concur.
-
Good morning, all.

Great GoGo news and other fun stuff in the notes today.

Good morning, all.

That was a wonderful day, Elmore. Thanks for the reminder.

Indeed.

Four years ago today DR JohnG came to Manhattan to see The New Yorkers at Encores! We had lunch at the Brooklyn Diner.
Excellent photo, gents.
Now, how did four years fly by so fast???
-
It's safe to eat in restaurants. I saw this on the Internet, so I know it's true.
-
Kitty cleanup over and bed made, I need to take the recyclables to the basement and pick up any mail or packages from yesterday.

I was talking to Joshie about that yesterday. Some days it seems like yesterday. but other days an entire lifetime ago.
-
Thank you for giving us the sience DR singdaw.
-
Lots of great things in the notes today.
Looking forward to the 2-CD release and the release of the Book.
-
One of my favorite movie moments EVER happens between George Segal and Glenda Jackson.
They have a terrific fight - I think she says something he thinks is about his mother.... They jump out of bed and start packing and she keeps telling him to make a reservation for the plane trip off the island....and he keeps telling her "not necessary."
They get to the airport (their rented car only drives in second gear) and the clerk announces that the plane is sold out.
George: But that plane is NEVER sold out.
Clerk: There was a group of nuns visiting the island and they're all going back on this flight.
Glenda: When did they get their tickets?
Clerk: Just now.
Glenda: Press THAT in your book of memories.

Some dear friends lost their daughter in a car crash yesterday.
Things that seemed vitally important to me at this time yesterday somehow don't seen nearly as important now.
-
Just as scheduled, I have been stimulated this morning.
-
DR Jrand70 - how awful. Heartfelt condolences to you and to your friends.
-

That's so sad. I can't imagine anything worse than losing a child.
-
Just as scheduled, I have been stimulated this morning.
And that's something to dance about.
-
Everything here is bathed in an eerie light, and it has been raining hard.
I guess I should feel fortunate it is not snow.
-
George Walker was the first African American composer to win the Pulitzer Prize for music.
This slow movement from his first String Quartet is stunningly beautiful:

And...
-
You can click on those to enlarge them, but I've also sent them in their original file sizes to DR Elmore.
-
BK: I agree with DR George about posting the show scores separately. It seems unlikely that someone who doesn't have any of those would suddenly want all of them. But you never know.
Having said that, though, you've now mentioned one you didn't list the other night, which I don't have, and would want if it's in nice shape. Want to know what it is? :)

She's got a bun in the oven.

I feel so honored.

LOL. I am a bit surprised this plate was permitted.
-
It's safe to eat in restaurants. I saw this on the Internet, so I know it's true.
Oh goodness, I hope it was a joke.
-
I don't know, DR Jane. With the way some people in this county think, I wonder.
-
Great photos, DR ChasSmith. Thanks for sharing.

The book is wonderful, though it is not the kid book it seems to be presented as.
And One Promise is probably my favorite song from the score

Good Morning - home today for catch-up. Had to call Alaska Airlines today as my flight schedule to Orlando in June has been altered. I'm not really happy with the changes. What was a one-way flight back to SF is now a one-stop flight leaving Orlando 7 hours earlier than I anticipated. I'll need to ponder this a bit. Anyway, I'm sure I'll let it go and just go with whatever.
-
Ladies and Gentlemen, an announcement, if you please:
IT'S CHILI, CHEESE, AND ONION HOT DOGS TONIGHT.

Groan. I hate when that happens. Good luck figuring it out.
-
I tend to get rather air sick and the worst part can be the landing. I do my best to take as flew flights as possible.

Most of what's on its way is Royal Ballet, including the Rhapsody one. The top one is in my cart for next time and perhaps I'll add the bottom one.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep. Doing yet another Microsoft update - so irritating and just did one six days ago AND it doesn't even show you the task bar anymore or have anything to click on - it just takes whatever time it takes, which is usually about twenty minutes and then you're supposed to divine that it's done.
-
Today it seems really cold in the apartment. It's a rainy day, so maybe that's part of the problem.
-
Some days I wish the cats feared me. Stella is working my last nerve today following me and dancing around my feet.

I think La Fille Mal Gardée will amuse you with its dancing chickens and the old lady's wonderful clog dance.

Amazon sent me an email saying a package had been delivered, and there was a photo of a door and doormat with a package lying on it, only it wasn't my door. In my search for the correct door Stella escaped, and I had to deal with her as well. The Amazon delivery dropped it off at my neighbor Judy's door.
I do hope cabin fever is not getting to me!

I just posted something about one of Trump's lawyers on Facebook and as soon as I hit "post," I thought, I'd better change that. I am feeling very disappointed at the moment. It is possible Craig will not be able to meet us in Chicago if teachers are forced to quarantine after traveling.

It has already been 15 months since we have seen him.

I expect even the best airports are not so wonderful these days.

Jane, so sorry about your visit. I hope it all works out.

When I moved to San Antonio 22 years ago, I discovered a then-unknown writer named Rick Riordan, who was the author of a series of mysteries featuring detective named Tres Navarre. The mysteries were set in San Antonio and I loved all three or four that I could get my hands on. Great descriptions of landmark restaurants, neighborhoods, attitudes.
Well, I found one on audio this week that I didn't know, Mission Road. Turns out it was from 2005. I started it yesterday, and it was so good I'm finishing it up tonight. What a treat.
-
It has rained the last three nights after I've gone to sleep. And it looks like it will rain again tonight. There's a 100% chance of a thunderstorm at 3 a.m. I hope I can sleep through it. I just learned that hail is possible. I hope that stays far away, too.
-
Got back on the bicycle again today for the first time in a few weeks. I really enjoyed the ride, but it felt like the first time again. I have to get used to looking around me more when I turn corners, especially when I'm driving around the neighborhood during rush hour.
I may take it to a park this weekend and ride around one.
-
Good night, all.
-
103%!!! That's what I'M talkin' about.
-
Seriously thrilled.
-
Many thanks to all of you.
-
And we're on our way to covering the fees, which is very important.
-
Finally home after a very long afternoon and early evening, but very productive. Now eating McDonald's because that was fastest and easiest and I was starving.
-

Jrand, I didn’t realize the nationwide effect you have on people. I just read today that people all over the country are turning the channel on their TV’s, rather than watch Dr. Oz on JEOPARDY.

It is all done by computer. They have your account flagged with a list of words (aka Trump), so as soon as you use type one of those words, you are toast.

Enjoying the opera I'm listening to.

It has already been 15 months since we have seen him.
