Well, you've read the notes, the notes were one notes too many, and now it is time for you to post until the one too many cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TOUCHSTONE!
-
Good luck with the Big Move (hopefully) on Sunday, BK!
-
In the history of sitcoms, this may be one of the five funniest half hours you will ever see https://youtu.be/BZSe8h1SJ3Y
-
Funny!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
re: the Indiegogo organizing... I have, in my mind's eye, a picture of little PILES all over bk's abode.
-
~~~SUPER EXCELLENT VIBES AND XYLOPHONES~~~ for bk's upcoming BIG MOVE!!!!!
-
I was listening to György Ligeti's Le Gran Macabre, but it was a little crazy-making, so I switched over to Debussy's Pélleas et Mélisande. Much more soothing on the ear.
-
:)
-
Good morning, all!
After a good night of sleep, a pretty poor one last night. I woke early to the sound of a cat - either Thatch or Stella - vomiting on the floor somewhere in the apartment, but at 3:00am I was not inclined to go looking for it. So I stepped in it on my way to the bathroom this morning. Then Stella became very anxious for displays of my affection, and Thatch kept stopping by to check on me. Annabelle, sleeping beside me, was well behaved. She may get a gold star today.
DR singdaw, I am still trying to figure out what that ass cleaning sign actually meant to say.
-
DR JohnG, I loved the posters.
BK, I'm with you on the movie of Annie Get Your Gun. Ir's one of the few Conrad Salinger musicals where I listen to the arrangements and think, that doesn't sound right. I love Betty Hutton and the cast, and I think the Garland footage is dreadful, but I think a big problem casting Annie is that the star needs to be a rather earthy one you do not consider particularly intelligent. Judy Garland's persona is one smart lady while Betty Hutton and Martha Raye, for instance, are completely opposite.
And I do miss the cut numbers.
And for the "woke" Facebook crowd (God save us from them!), how do we even know Frank is telling the truth about being a bad, bad man? Maybe he is just telling the ladies that to drive them off?
-
I must drag out the Big Ladder for more cat food.
-
DR JohnG, I loved the posters.
Ditto!
The photo on the poster is the clue. Glasses. The sign unfortunately shifted a few inches the wrong way.
Good morning, all.
Sitcom link loaded and ready to play later.
It just happens that I made the best tuna salad of my professional tuna salad making career last weekend. I took my damned time adding this and that and getting the consistency to my liking before the seasonings at the end, and I had a winner that lasted three tuna-eatin' days.
I add a little mayo at a time till I have it right (I do not like a goopy, milky tuna salad), adjusting as necessary for each additional thing like celery, onions, relish... I think that was all. The seasoning really benefited from garlic this time, which I often don't think to put in, but what a difference. I wasn't in the mood to chop up fresh garlic so I cheated and got out the big container of granulated. I mixed some in and added more three times, and that was the secret. It was more than before, and was perfect. I end with fresh coarsely ground pepper and pink Himalayan salt, and Bob's my uncle. You know, I really should have had an Uncle Bob.
Anyway, I used two 6.4-oz. pouches of tuna (I love me them pouches) and the resulting mix lasted me three meals featuring tuna salad.
-
I had never thought to put garlic in tuna salad, but... why not? I'm sure it was delicious.
Food for thought.
-
I'm sure it's "safe."
Aha! Thank you.
DR ChasSmith, I have been purchasing chopped garlic in jars. It sure beats chopping up cloves.
I found this interesting:
Did they mention the music?
Yes, thank you, I should be keeping that around. I used to, and I don't know what happened. What happened???
Moving vibes for MR BK.
Making the Index in the next edition vibes for MR BK.
We haz snow. Nothing on the street - but on the lawns and porches.
Tonight is my first HUNCHBACK rehearsal, and the temps are going to be in the 20's - so it's going to be cold.....SUMMER THEATRE.
-
Page Two Observation.
Wayne Brady and his bunch on Let's Make A Deal are insufferable and the prizes are cheap.
In mid-April 1984 we had a huge snowfall on a Friday night, I had a meeting on Saturday on the East Side. I finally got a bus, got to the East Side, walked through drifts up to my knees, and found ther building locked and meeting cancelled.
Break a leg tonight.
I don't like The Price is Right, either!
It’s been a long day already and it’s only noon.
-
It snowed heavily in Louisville. Ugh.
-
Temperatures here are still in the 50s.
-
Some of the plants ate liking the cool snap. The basil is not.
Happy birthday, Keith!
Keith says thank you.
Who doesn't remember that most famous Viking, Bessie the Red?
We've got a thunderstorm warning for roughly half an hour from now, but
What in the HELL is going on in the Midwest?!
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
elmore, of course Frank is making it up, I think that's pretty obvious in the song - a boaster to get business. But not today, today it's "rapey".
-
These are quokkas.
They are marsupials native to Western Australia, and wear a perpetual “Hey there! Good to see ya! Oh, you brought pie!” smile on their faces.
I think life needs more quokkas in it.
Waiting for food to arrive - decided to do the tri-salad fro Art's Deli - way too expensive - Art's is out of control - same thing at the Coral Cafe and just as good is about twelve bucks less - will do that from here on in. Ordered through Grubhub and yet Art's delivers it itself. Had I known that in advance (they don't mention it ever unless you track the order) I would have just driven over there.
A friend of mine just recommended a possible Annabelle & Thatch illustrator, her friend, P. Craig Russell who does graphic novels. I checked out some of his work, which reminds me a lot of the notorious 1970s underground comics, but I do not see a sense of humor or cartoonish attitude in his work. I still want Hillary Knight. Anyone here know Mr Russell's work?
-
Sorry, Elmore. A sense of humor is essential.
-
I wish I were an illustrator. I'd do it for free. I believe in the project.
-
DR ChasSmith - that's the gist of it. :)
-
LOVE those quokkas!
-
Happy Birthday to Keith!
-
Continued vibes for DR JEANNE.
-
Thank you DR ELMORE.....I shall leave in a moment after starting Page Three.
Snow is gone, but there is a freeze warning tonight.
-
We got the narrowest part of the storm (thank goodness), but we have the freeze warnings for tonight and tomorrow night, too.
-
Food was very good and filling.
-
Also filling and very good.
-
Don't think there's a reason to go to the mail place.
-
But I will have to take a drive later at some point.
-
That's very sweet. Thank you. I just just haven't seen anyone's work that's as right as Hillary Knight's or some of the classic New Yorker cartoonists.
Here's Mr Russell's website: https://www.artofpcraigrussell.com
Happy Birthday to Keith!
Thank you. I just made reservations for dinner at Beaches.
Except for the kid, I am glad not to be in Chicago right now.
I am wearing shorts.
He’s not bad. But he should be designing a deck of tarot cards, not Annabelle and Thatch.
I’m listening to Ethan Hawke read his new novel, A Bight Ray of Darkness. It’s autobiographical. The main character is a self-absorbed actor who is also an ass. Sometimes it’s funny, sometimes it’s painful.
-
Visiting a new to me restaurant called Lisboa Madrid. I went for Portuguese half of the menu. High hopes for the food. I can tell now they’re not afraid of garlic, which is a good thing.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Thanks for all the vibes.
I had my post-op today and all looks good. I stopped at Julie's on the way home for my food favorites.
-
Traffic in Beverly Hills today was heavier than just a week ago. I think the restaurant reopenings have something to do with it. Good for business, bad for drivers.
I believe that GrubHub delivers to just one address. Deliveries directly from restaurants often deliver to multiple addresses in one run, which means you may not get your food quickly. I hadn't thought about this until it look over two hours one evening to receive my delivery order.
No, and I can't think of any illustrators at the moment who would be right.
-
Continued vibes for DR JEANNE.
Thanks, Jrand.
-
Happy Birthday Keith!
-
Do the art schools have placement services? Someone on the staff might be able to find an illustrator who is appropriate.
-
TTFN.
-
And speaking of deliveries, I just received the Blu-ray disc of Six By Sondheim (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08SGRQ3JS/). Hopefully, it's actual Blu-ray quality and not just the MOD DVD-R version put on a Blu-ray disc. ::) I'll find out tonight!
Attended an online lecture tonight on birdsong. It was fascinating.
:)
The missing apostrophe notwithstanding.
-
It sounds like DR ChasSmith's tuna salad, with its prominent garlic, wouldn't be entirely out of place on the Portuguese menu.
-
Good night, friends!
Exactly.
-
It felt good to go back to a restaurant for an indoor dinner. It's been a long time. I was the only customer because I went so early, but that made me feel OK.
-
Glad to hear post-op was fine.
-
Finished one movie.
-
Not feeling very motivated today, but I'll definitely do some work later. I also still have to go out for a drive - I'll pick up tuna and a head of lettuce, so I can have that tomorrow.
-
It was busy at Beaches and it was only 50% occupancy. The booths now have glass partitions around them. Not only do they look nice but they reduce the unwanted noise. During quarantine they fixed the restaurant up a bit and it looks good.
-
Before leaving for errands & dinner we had a short birthday video chat with Bryan & Freyja. I hadn't changed yet when they called and was wearing the cat t-shirt she loves. BIG mistake during a video chat. She kept going up to the tv to try and touch my t-shirt, knocking things over and moving the camera. Once I covered it up she sat nicely on the couch so we could see them both ;D
-
That's sweet, Jane.
-
And now, I'm leaving work.
Be back later.
-
I am glad you enjoyed your tuna Chas
-
I myself am very picky my tuna must be chunk light, packed in water, not oil, drained well then doused with a little lemon and just enough Mayo for it to stick together
Nothing else
-
And it may be eaten on-a toasted onion bagel with a side of potato chips
Acceptable substitutes for the bagel:
Seeded rye, very fresh or toasted
White bread which must be lightly toasted
-
That’s it
-
The gums on the left side of my mouth are very sore and swollen
-
My sweet Vixdad went to the market to buy me some Kozy shack pudding. A tub each of rice pudding and chocolate
-
When he go5 to the register he realized he didn’t have his wallet so he put everything back and came home
-
Then he grabbed his wallet and went back for my pudding
-
When I came home for lunch today I had two interesting pieces of mail
-
The first was from the NYS Dept of Labor asking me for proof of my identity
-
You know, to support my claim for unemployment benefits
-
The other envelope held a new debit card for the online banking account I didn’t open
-
And I discovered that last week the dept of labor deposited two payments, unemployment and the supplemental payment into that account
-
The account has been frozen with instructions to send the $ back from whence it came and the filing of a fraud notice
-
Fraud notice also place with the department of labor
-
And all three credit bureaus
-
So that was fun,,,,
-
Good night, all.
-
Yikes, Vixmom! :o Hopefully, there won't be any more shenanigans!!
-
Finished a second movie, went to Gelson's and bought lettuce, tuna, and something Grant's wife recommended called Sparkling Ice Drink - five calories, no sugar, no carbs - they were five for five bucks so I bought five different flavors.
-
Once home, I made a small salad with some cheese on it and used the leftover ranch dressing for it - it was very good. No cals in the lettuce, of course, and not overdressed.
-
And speaking of deliveries, I just received the Blu-ray disc of Six By Sondheim (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08SGRQ3JS/). Hopefully, it's actual Blu-ray quality and not just the MOD DVD-R version put on a Blu-ray disc. ::) I'll find out tonight!
I'm watching the Blu-ray and it looks really good...even the old vintage film clips, which they don't zoom in to fill the wide screen, look good.
-
Happy Birthday to DH Keith!
Don’t you have notes to write?
$$ vibes for vixmom.
I'm enjoying watching the Blu-ray of Six By Sondheim.
-
I don't think I've watched it all the way through since I first got the DVD.
-
It's still interesting.
-
I just wish they could've added some extra bonus material, like putting the six music videos in their own section so that they could be watched all by themselves.
-
Just my 2 cents.
-
I'm enjoying watching the Blu-ray of Six By Sondheim.
Steve could also brew his own beer, and he could use the title as the name.
