Well, you've read the notes, the notes went down a rabbit hole, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they couldn't fit down the damn rabbit hole.
-
And the word of the day is: TERPSICHOREAN!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Topic of the Day: I can go down the Tube of You rabbit hole...usually either baking or cooking vids (I don't know why...I'll never bake or cook what I'm watching), or political commentary vids with a (very) liberal and non-conservative perspective. Or, theater or opera videos. I've subscribed to several opera companies' YouTube channels, and since they're long-form (remember when YouTube videos couldn't be longer than 10 minutes?), I can watch them at work and just let the sound waft through my ears and I can glance at the video portion every once in a while since I have to monitors. :)

So, would you like to know when the June 1958 release of The Colossus of New York actually opened? November 19, 1958 as the bottom half of a double bill (top half was From the Earth to the Moon). So, that was my one and only time at the Hawaii Theater. I have no memory of how I would have gotten there - perhaps my father dropped me off there and then picked me up on his way home from work - that would make sense, I think. Or maybe he even attended.
-
Saw The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad on January 9, 1959. It opened at the bigger theaters at the end of December, so it was a fast turnover to the Stadium and other nabes.
-
I really don't understand this influx of The Creature Wasn't Nice orders. Someone had to do a story or podcast on it and within the last week - so, why can't I find any evidence of such a thing. We've had over twenty orders in three days and they're still coming in.
-
Good morning, all!
-
It was nice to see DR TCB, however briefly, last night.
-
I slept soundly from around 9:15 to 2:15. After that it was hit or miss, depending on Stella's moods.
-
Yesterday's zoom meeting went well. Our producer has had a TV scriptwriter for Hallmark write a screenplay of our Moonshine and Mistletoe book that he wants us to read, and I think we're finally moving to get our demo recording released. That would certaqinly promote the show.
I wish we would go back to our old artwork. I like it better.
-
I have no plans for today. The excessively romping kitties left we an overturned bowl of kibble all over the floor, so I will clean that up with the dustbuster aeound 9:00. I don't wish to disturn the neighbor below me before then.
-
DR singdaw, apology accepted.
-
YouTube has become my current rabbit hole. I'm both delighted and dismayed by the things I find and often by the shoddy condition of some videos that get posted.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Great news from DR elmore3003.
~~~POSITIVE VIBES~~~ for project success!!!!!
-
I think the whole internet is a rabbit hole waiting to divert attention from what else has to be done.
I agree, though I like both.
-
My dreams last night were a confusing rabbit-hole mess. People and places from many past eras of my life, all mashed together in a way that made no sense. And very specific! Weird.
-
I like both.
Me, too.
-
Has anyone watched the Friends reunion show? On... I can't even remember what platform.
-
DR JohnG, I had meant days ago to thank you for that link to dreams. Madame Esmé says he's wrong: dreams are memories from past lives refiltered through your current existence.
-
I enjoyed the sitcom at times, but I had no urge to see these people again.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Agree about the Moonshine artwork, but I am really glad to hear things are happening.
-
Researching former houses and apartments, and of course their locales, is a rabbit hole, as is reconstructing various events and experiences I'd like to remember better. And yes, same here with the movie theaters, which started being a "thing" for me a couple of decades ago.
YouTube for sure, and I know I've but scratched the surface of what's available. That monster could easily get out of control if I let it.
-
So I am dealing with casting and all the questions and emails that that process entails....
And untalented actors who want to know why they didn't get a part with a solo or who suddenly have too many conflicts because they didn't get the part they asked for even though ON THE AUDITION FORM they said that they would accept another part.
I'm down four brothers....but I'm sure I'll find them someplace.
I hate casting....the worst part of directing....
-
Ah, I see the Community Theater prima donnas are out in full force. BEWARE, BEWARE! :)
-
Moving on...
-
To TWO!!
-
TWO is just TOO TOO!
-
Ooh, a Cole Porter reference. Kay Kendall and Gene Kelly singing “You’re Just Too Too.”
-
Got a surprise today. A raise. They don’t usually happen in mid-year.
That's wonderful, Larry!
~~~Moonshine and Mistletoe Vibes of All Kinds!!~~~

That is indeed a surprise! Nice, DR John G. These AC systems don't pay for themselves.

DR Jrand70, I've been there and send my condolences.

I’m sure after the government takes its part, I’ll get $1.75.

So, think Tommy Tune or James Lapine. Stage it with a brother wearing another brother costume like Whorehouse. Or carrying a cutout, like Sunday in the Park.

Thank y’all. Glad to able to share the news with friends.

:)

It is always nice to hear good news.
-
It's almost like "Words With Friends."
But with money.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Nice to see TCB!

My fifth floor neighbor Ann came by to pick up a package I was holding for her. She had good gossip. Lat week, around 4:30 AM, some one - most likely a vagrant intent on getting into the building - ranf all the doors for the fifth floor apartments. Greer, a not particularly pleasant woman at the very back of the fifth floor, has an adoprable little Pekingese puppy supposedly barked, but Ann who l;ives mext fopor tp Greer, claims she heard nothing. Now down the hall by the elevators lives a pleasant lady named Lisa, who lives with an insane, alcoholic, unpleasant lunatic named Michael. A couple of years ago she moved out to her parents, and Michael got drunk, threatened to kill himself, and when the police came at Lisa's request, the cops had to break the door down.
So, last week, Michael, who is no one's idea of a good neighbor, went barging down to Greer's door yelling that her dog's barking was a provlem. They got into a verbal fight, and he threatened to kill her. She called the police on him and had him arrested around 5:00AM. Ann says Michael's been sending her threatening mail.

Like necessity, theater is also the mother of invention. ;)

I am allowed to book my 2nd covid shot today. But there are no appointments. I have to get it at the same place sometime after Friday (that will be my 8 weeks). If nothing opens up then I may do the walk-in clinic on Friday.
-
Tuesday afternoon greetings! We went out in our driveway last night to stargaze and discovered that the temperature and humidity had dropped significantly. We came inside, turned off the AC, and opened the windows. Aaaahhh, the house breathes!
-
TOD - My YouTube rabbit hole is usually crafty videos, like card making and scrapbooking, but occasionally I get sucked into home makeovers and “tour my studio apartment” videos (what are those young women thinking?).
Another rabbit hole for me is this very site. When I’m trying to remember the details of an event, I’ll often look at my posts in the archives. They’re kind of like a diary for the past 17 years.
-
:)
-
I think rabbits get a bad rap.
-
THREE!!!

Will we never get to Page 4?

I had to do my annual self-assessment (performance review) for work today. I hate that!

Groan.

We are also in a bit of limbo. If the state legislators, who were called back to the capital yesterday for a special session, don't approve the state budget by midnight on 6/30/21, the state government shuts down and we are all furloughed without pay.
Also, our union contract expires 6/30/21, and negotiations with the state are not going well. We are in mediation. That may result in a strike, and I won't cross that picket line.
So, all in all, a bit unsettling, to say the least.
-
Like we haven't already gone through enough stress in the last year! :)
-
I almost feel like I deserve a drink with a little umbrella in it.

And I know you do.

Thanks, DR Jane.
-
It has been a gorgeous day here; a break from the recent extreme heat. Low humidity and lovely.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep - was up from eight to ten after four, then back to bed. Crazy day.
-
Oy!

Having a Cobb salad from Marmalade Cafe - very good. And a lot of it.

Oh, they’re still around, DR Jane, but nothing like they were a few days ago. I think we’re past the peak.

What a coincidence! I named my fir Elmore, too!

DR vixmom - I kid because I love. :-*

Good night, friends.
-
And now, it's time for me to leave work. My sister wants me to stop by for a little bit, but it shouldn't take very long, so I'll be heading home right afterword.
Be back later.
-
But before I go...
-
...I just found out about this...
-
...that because we're so close, here's the...
-
PAGE FOUR DANCE!! ;D
-
Actually, what I really just found out about was this:
Senate passes bill to make Juneteenth, day commemorating the end of slavery, a federal holiday (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/senate-passes-bill-to-make-juneteenth-day-commemorating-the-end-of-slavery-a-federal-holiday/ar-AAL587f?ocid=entnewsntp).
-
Now, that's pretty cool!
-
And NOW I'm leaving!

C’mon, union, get hot. (A Pajama Game reference)
-
Back to Aladdin.
-
Dancing was once again too hot. I think the AC there is broken.
-
Back from our invited dress - small house, thank goodness. They really have to get it together - started fifteen minutes late, a twenty-minute intermission. And then, the sound went out during OUR playlet, the one playlet that actually needs sound. The problem? The guy who's running it has never done it before and no one told him you - wait for it - have to put new batteries in before EVERY show. These batteries have been in these packs since Saturday. So, that will hopefully never happen again. They were on during the first few minutes, then died and so while there were nice laughs because my gals know how to project, they weren't as big as they should have been and hopefully will be, and the song was just ridiculous because they had to keep the track low so we could hear her, which meant she couldn't hear the track.

Hopefully, the "bad rehearsal, good performance" saying is really true!! :-\
-
Gratuitous Post #100!
-
So...
-
Tomorrow is my mom's birthday.
-
She's going to be 79 years old!
-
We're all going to meet at my sister's house in the early afternoon.
-
I'll leave work early and pick up some pizza from the Tumwater Brewery City Pizza (https://www.brewerycity.com/).
-
My mom wanted pizza, so we'll get pizza.
-
I don't know what kind to get, yet.
-
My sister will text me tomorrow with what kinds to get.
-
I'll decide at that time what I want to get.
-
Then, I'll call in the order before I leave work so that I can pick it up and take it to my sister's.
-
I assume that my niece's other grandmother and aunt will be there, too.
-
Even after my sister's divorce, both sets of parents stayed friends.
-
And it doesn't hurt that the other grandmother lives right next door to my sister and her daughter, and the aunt lives right across the street. :)
-
So, it's all good.
-
I also don't know if any of my mom's friends will come over, either.
-
I'll find out soon enough.
-
And I'm sure that if they are, my sister will know about it and make sure that I order enough pizza for everyone.
-
Not enough pizza is never a good thing!
-
"Not Enough Pizza and Other Tragedies of Life" sounds like a title of something.

Well, at least we got to page 5. ::)
-
Well, isn't this a fine kettle of what is it low posting day fish. I just did a Ralph's run - no mask for me but everyone in the store who was shopping had them even though the sign downstairs clearly said fully vaccinated people - no masks necessary. I bought thirty bottles of Sparkling Ice drinks - eighty-eight cents each as opposed to Gelson's $1.49 each.
-
Also, got some Atkins peanut butter cookies - net carbs 3.
-
Let's keep going here, for heaven's sake.

I saw the Sparkling Ice drinks at Costco a couple of weeks ago, and I didn't get any.
-
I don't know why.
-
I've had them before and do like them, so I think I'll have to get some soon.
-
I can't tomorrow (actually, today since it's after midnight) because my co-workers and I are going out to lunch together.
-
You must. I'd avoid the cans, which have caffeine - I didn't care for the canned taste and they were all very tart, which the bottled flavors aren't. I'm addicted to these things and the good news is I'm down to a mere Diet Coke a day.
-
We're all vaccinated and we want to take Vivian to lunch because she's newly hired and this'll be her welcome lunch.
-
She gets to choose where we go.
-
I'm a picky eater, but I'm sure that wherever we go (a Sondheim reference), I'll be able to get something that I like...hopefully.
-
She's from Taiwan, and had lived in the states for years, but she still has a strong accent.
-
She is understandable, so it hasn't been a problem.
-
And very fortunately, she has experience in finance and has been able to very quickly learn things at the library.
-
The one...issue...that my co-worker Linda (who has been training her) has, is that Vivian wants to make a LOT of suggestions on how to change things as she's learning the job as it currently exists.
-
It's great that she has suggestions, but she still needs to learn more to see how everything works together before she should just suggest changes.
-
In my opinion...and Linda's. ;)

I still drink at least a can of diet Pepsi a day...that's my fave.

Sorry, Jane. ;D
