Well, you've read the notes, the notes opened and were outdoor-style, and now it is time for you to post until the outdoor-style cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ZOUNDS!
-
Congrats, again, on the successful playlet!
-
There's a local newspaper that posted this online: LoveOly SummerFest 2021 Launches Downtown Olympia in July (https://www.thurstontalk.com/2021/06/17/loveoly-summerfest-2021-launches-downtown-olympia-in-july/)!
-
That sounds like fun. :)
-
But first, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Today feels like a Saturday, so I am confused. Since every day is like the other and as long as I feed them, the cats don't give a damn. As far as they're concerned, I'm just the 24/7 maid who keeps them comfortable
-
So, today Fed Ex is coming to pick up two cartons and that cheers me up.
-
I plan to spend the day reading and commenting on the teleplay for Moonshine and Mistletoe, which is titled (gag) Christmas on Mistletoe Mountain. I actually don't care what they call the movie as long as my check is big and it clears.
-
BK, I am very happy yopur p[lay went well, and I thank you for the Pest Control tip. It sounds like a fun read.
-
DR vixmom, I hope you have a wonderful night out tonight.
-
DR Jrand70, we want rehearsal photos! Did you get all the men you needed?
-
Good morning, all.

Yes. You are staff. Any questions?
-
Not interested in facing the work day.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
But I do get my permanent crown today.
-
Today, I am wondering...
Did you ever see a lassie go this way and that way?
-
~~~DENTAL VIBES~~~ today for DR John G.!
-
The nice thing about the final crown appointment is that all the hard parts are already over.
-
I just went to the walk-in clinic and got an appointment for this afternoon for my 2nd covid vaccine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so happy as it is impossible to book an appointment at my location.
-
Very good news, DR Jennifer.
-
:)
-
Very good news, DR Jennifer.
The line was so long when I got there. And she said that she only had 80 tickets. I am very happy.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good news about the playlet!
Writing his self-evaluation at review time is going to be the hardest bit.
-
Today I must do a little mowing and a lot more weed whacking.
-
HA! DR singdaw's cartoon made me laugh out loud.
-
Congrats to MR BK & Co.
-
I'm thinking that Mr Svengoolie should have MR BK as a guest on his show.....I think he tapes in Chicago or nearby environs.
-
DR ELMORE I just put out a line for the last two brothers I need.....one said YES and I am waiting on the other.....we shall see what we shall see.
-
I took some videos last night as a reference for the guys to learn their dancing.....I shall see if I can get a couple of photos there. It really is a good group.
-
But I do get my permanent crown today.
Why have you not crowned me yet?
I'm neither this nor that,
I can rhyme, I can rhyme!
-
In all of DR VIXMOM's posts last night, not once did she split an infinitive!
-
DR ELMORE I am having some trouble getting a screen capture, so i will take some photos on Monday night.
-
HA! DR singdaw's cartoon made me laugh out loud.
Me, too. Just what I needed during a long meeting.
-
But I do get my permanent crown today.
Why have you not crowned me yet?
I'm neither this nor that,
I can rhyme, I can rhyme!
Is it rhyme time?
How sublime.
Virtual crowns
Sans clowns
For all
Have a ball!
-
Well, I got to the point where I put the teleplay down in dismay, finished my notes and sent them off.
-
Fed Ex just picked up my cartons. I can relax.
-
I just went to the walk-in clinic and got an appointment for this afternoon for my 2nd covid vaccine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so happy as it is impossible to book an appointment at my location.
YAY!
-
Bruce I am glad your evening went well.
-
Well, I got to the point where I put the teleplay down in dismay, finished my notes and sent them off.
Glad you were honest. A truthful piece about Christmas in the Holler is better than treacle. Still, as long as they spell your name right on the checks…
-
Heat Index of 100 degrees today.....severe weather including hail, thunderstorms, high winds, and possible tornadoes in my area today.
AND yesterday we had an 3.8 magnitude earthquake....right here in Indiana.
The epicenter was about 90 miles north and west of me. In this video some of my fellow hillbillies discuss their experience...
https://www.wthr.com/video/news/local/indiana/earthquake-shakes-indiana/531-4bf246ef-07e9-4c03-aec0-aae10abbb3ab
One of my favorite things in the video is that the Professor at IU has a book shelf in his wall with two shelves.....and one of the shelves has knick knacks on it..... I guess seismologists don't do much reading.
-
I watched the whole thing, DR Jrand70. Classic! :) Most enjoyable.
-
As for the heat...
Today was SUPPOSED to have been the last day in the mid-70s before things heat up, but they changed that on us this morning with a newly forecast high of 84. I just mowed the small yard around the house -- a 20-minute job -- well in advance of it getting really warm, and came in dripping.
-
Well, I got to the point where I put the teleplay down in dismay, finished my notes and sent them off.
That title was bad enough, but I'm really sorry to hear this. What is wrong with people?
-
Glad you were honest. A truthful piece about Christmas in the Holler is better than treacle. Still, as long as they spell your name right on the checks…
I felt the writer was freely adapting too much; he kept our characters basic plot, changed a few names, cut most of the songs and made songs intended for characters into "let's sing a song!" and then wrote his own story, setting it in 1930 but being way too PC and contemporary.
-
But it's the first draft, and hopefully we can pull it back a bit.
-
I plan to spend the day reading and commenting on the teleplay for Moonshine and Mistletoe, which is titled (gag) Christmas on Mistletoe Mountain. I actually don't care what thjeu call the movie as long as my check is big and it clears.
I wonder if they changed the title because they don't want to associate the new movie with drinking. Just a thought.
Got my crown. But why did I do that at lunchtime? I can’t chew for another 45.
Is this the horror known as fasting?
-
Got my crown. But why did I do that at lunchtime? I cant chew for another 45.
I once got a filling replaced right before my lunch time and I was supposed to wait a couple of hours before eating because of the numbness, but I didn't. ::) I couldn't really taste my food, nor could I tell that I was chewing up the insides of my mouth! :o
Dopey me!
I would probably have the world’s shortest hunger strike, especially if it didn’t include appetizers.
DR JOHN G I think fasting is one of the tortures they will use to force me to give them the government secrets I know.....
DR ELMORE I can't imagine why anyone would change something that much -
But it does remind me of the old story.....
Friend: Where did you get the idea for your new book?
Jolly good, DR Jrand70! :)
For my second session I got out the potent poison-ivy-and-tough-brush killer and did much of spraying of unwelcome entities. I want them to drink the poison and send it down through their roots and along their li'l networks, that they might spread the joy. In a few days I'll start cutting, pulling, chopping, slicing and dicing the remains.
-
And that's it for me today. I plan to enjoy the Friday evening, probably sitting and sipping for a while on the deck, then watching something. Don't know what yet, but something made me think of The Anderson Tapes (1971) the other day, and I just might enjoy that one tonight.
I hope I find it amusing and entertaining. I saw it, still living in Cleveland, when it was released, and only one other time several years later. I have a DVD release that will hopefully be serviceable.
Get ready to barf, balletomaines. This is from a story on Louisville Ballet’s upcoming sci-fi Swan Lake. Apparently it’s not about a swan:
Set in “a futuristic world,” the artistic team uses laser technology to create the scenic design in Curran’s “Swan Lake,” which premiered in 2016. Its 2021 restaging will feature “updated sets and costumes that challenge concepts of light and dark, uniformity and the meanings we attach to both,” the release said.
Expanding on that, Curran told WFPL that his “Swan Lake” focuses more on the character of Prince Siegfried rather than the princess-swan Odette, looking at the “obligations that Siegfried feels to conform to a certain expectation.”
And you won’t see the iconic Swan Lake image of a corps de ballet in white tutus.
“I’m wanting to move away from the black and white stereotype: White is pure and good, and black is is evil,” Curran said. “So there won’t be any white tutus and there won’t be any black tutus.”
-
I plan to spend the day reading and commenting on the teleplay for Moonshine and Mistletoe, which is titled (gag) Christmas on Mistletoe Mountain. I actually don't care what they call the movie as long as my check is big and it clears.
Well, the screenwriter write for Hallmark, so . . .
I wonder if they changed the title because they don't want to associate the new movie with drinking. Just a thought.
I don't think so. I don't think he was given any guidelines before he began, but most film adaptations keep a lot of the dialogue and the original story. I did get a call from my collaborator, and he's equally dismayed.
I can't even think about lawn mowing until Sunday - when it should be cooler.
Of course by then it might be more of a case of threshing than mowing.....
Where is MR BK?
-
Did they have a sale on opera box sets somewhere?
-
Is he stranded at Ralphs with a dead battery?
-
Did she of the Evil Eye put a hex on him?
Or is the David Cassidy interview REALLY in depth?
-
The last man I asked about being a brother has not replied to me yet.....he is probably asking his wife about how they could work that out.
I would love to know what eight hours of sleep feels like.
Hello, everyone.
-
I had a really bad back flare-up last weekend -- very stubborn -- and had to cancel all my plans for the week. Fortunately, I was able to get into see the chiropractor who helped me so much last year. He doesn't take insurance or I'd see just him. The chiropractor who takes insurance hasn't been able to help me so far. I'm doing somewhat better, but am feeling cautious.
-
Stopping the back pain vibes for DR JEANNE.
-
DR JANE I am trying to stay cool by staying in the house.....however sometimes one is compelled to leave the comfort of the air conditioning.
An ambulance went by a stopped by the corner in the next block - there were also two Police Cars there.
I couldn't see what was going on because of the neighbor's yard bush, so I was compelled to go outside and check it out.....
I stood at the corner for awhile and pointed down my street to cars headed that way to try to slow them down since the street was blocked and they couldn't see it or get through when they got there.....
Most people waved and said thanks!
-
I had to reschedule my eye procedure. I called to cancel it on Monday and spoke directly to the scheduler. On Wednesday, the day before the originally scheduled procedure, I received a call from the pre-op nurse with instructions for the day of the procedure. She wasn't aware that the procedure had been cancelled. But while I had her on the phone I again asked some basic questions, such as whether I'd be able to drive home. She said yes, I could drive. But then she mentioned that I'd be dilated. Dilated? I can't drive if I've been dilated. I know some people who can, but the two times that I've tried to were absolutely terrifying, as my vision was just too blurred. Don't they understand that many people can't drive while dilated? And why do they wait until the last minute to inform you? Rides generally need to be arranged in advance. Not to mention that patients do tend to worry when they don't know what the situation is. I must give this prestigious medical institution a fail when it comes to patient communication.
-
The ambulance is gone and only one police car is left....I guess I'll have to read the local bladder to see what the dealio is.
-
Stopping the back pain vibes for DR JEANNE.
Thank you, Jack.
-
DR JEANNE that certainly sounds like a failure to communicate.
-
Respite vibes to Jrand.
-
Glad to hear that the playlet's opening night went so well.
-
Cicada ice cream? No. Although I do think it's an interesting attempt at culinary recycling.
Yes, they should have told you from the beginning your eyes would be dilated. While I am sorry you had to reschedule it sounds like it may have been a good thing. Do you have to wait long for your procedure?
Congrats to DR Jennifer on now being fully vaccinated.
Ooh, EXCELLENT idea! Mr BK is now a Zoom expert and wouldn't even need to travel.
One of my favorite things in the video is that the Professor at IU has a book shelf in his wall with two shelves.....and one of the shelves has knick knacks on it..... I guess seismologists don't do much reading.
Or perhaps he's been taking a clue from Elmore and donating many of his books to a library.
Sorry to hear this, but not too surprised. I suspect that there are few writers who can really step in and do a adaptation with respect to the original material. Everyone has their own style and their own preferences. I couldn't watch the recent LITTLE WOMEN, because it was too contemporary. It just wasn't credible to me.
I do hope the subsequent versions are more appropriate and to your liking. If not, tell them you want BK to do it!
No, but I scheduled for July because my back needs to be behaving and I don't know how long that will take. The Natural Ophthalmics products have really helped and I can put off the procedure as a result.
BACK PAIN BEGONE VIBES FOR DR JEANNE!
Thank you.
DR JANE as soon as I find out - everyone at HHW will know.
AND White Kitty was in my driveway earlier this week. I may have posted that the folks who moved told my neighbor to watch her and they would be back..... White Kitty is living at Jennifer's house with Black Kitty.....she gets plenty of food & water and still wanders around.
I guess the person I thought took her did not.....
So Indiana had an earthquake. It does shake you up a bit, I admit. ;)
When I first moved to Virginia I leased an apartment that was in a building right next to the train track. (Previously considered unbuildable, I suspect.) A train would come by daily. There'd be rumbling and shaking. Just like California! I felt right at home!
I remember my shock, when we moved from LA to New Jersey, that we were on a fault. We never felt an earthquake the two years we were there.
Made a bowl of potato salad for tomorrow night's Bible study. I have made this recipe now more than a half-dozen times and I never get tired of it. I don't usually make a recipe over and over again.
-
Tonight we went to DR TCB's favorite place, Rock Hard Pizza. Keith was in the mood for an Impossible Burger. We shared the grilled brussels sprouts. He shared some of his onion rings while I ate a small pizza. I scrape the toppings off of the slices and make one slice from 2 or 3 pieces.
-
Had a talk with my sister about Mom going into assisted living. Some things are getting worked out, which is good. I think she signs the paperwork next week and will move in in early August.
Glad that MR BK has checked in.
Good night, friends.
LOL DR JEANNE and the train.
DR JANE I think Black Kitty likes to torture White Kitty by sneaking up behind her.....I've seen that a few times.....BK also likes to arch her back and hiss which puts WK on her guard......
-
I am still eating chicken nuggets left over from the HUNCHBACK strike party last Saturday.....I hope to be done with them some time next week.
I'll send it to you in a message.
One thing I like about One-Lane Bridge is seeing a favorite from the cast of A Place to Call Home and some of the guest actors from Brokenwood.
-
I have started listening to Stephen Fry read his latest, Heroes: The Greek Myths Reimagined. I like this one better than the first, Mythos, because it was easier to structure this than a book that deals with the whole creation of the universe, the gods and then certain select myths. His humor is apparent throughout and he's really having fun. His tale on the Herakles myths is as campy as a Steve Reeves movie.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Listening to the Callas La Giaconda and it's great and much preferable to the other one I just heard. Really glad I got this one.
-
I lost all three games of Phase 10 tonight...nothing new there, though. ::)
Tomorrow, I have no plans except to sleep in late and watch some TV on my DVRs.
-
I have a couple of shows to ketchup on.
I just remembered that I'm ushering tomorrow night, so I need to wash my usher clothes: white shirt and mask, and my black pants.
-
I have other things to wash, so it won't just be a small load of only my usher clothes.
-
Otherwise, I'll probably just stay in bed while watching TV.
-
...because I can. ;)
