Well, you've read the notes, the notes were private, and now it is time for you to post until the private cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PARADIGM!
-
Very exciting about the new musical, BK! Congrats on the reading!
-
I first heard of Noah Weisberg from Legally Blonde: The Musical. He was really good in that, but I've seen him in a few things since and I like him...and he's really cute, too. ;)
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I'm happy to hear the reading went well. Do you need an orchestrator?
-
DR vixmom, this is the site I use to certify for my unemployment. I'm so sorry that you are now on my side of the employment line.

This morning I will take a short walk to my barber for a much needed trim.
-
I finished Knowing Britten last night. It's a wonderful biography of much of Conductor Steuart Bedford's life, although it primarily focuses on the time between 1946 and 1976 when Britten died and Bedford was thirty-seven. My friend Donald Mitchell was Britten's publisher (Faber Music) and executor, and I was surprised to learn that Mitchell - in his few brief appearances in the book - was not one of Bedford's favorite people.
There is much humor in the book because tenor Christopher Gillett, who recorded and performed several Britten works (Albert in Albert Herring) with Bedford, is a very funny and savvy writer. His three "Bottom" books about the life, travels, and travails of an opera singer are outrageously funny and brutally honest.
-
DR TCB, I hope you are back with us!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Mega vibes for Vixmom.
-
Welcome home, TCB.
-
Is it really Wednesday? This week is playing with my head.
-
I’m enjoying the notes on the making of Nothing in Common, a movie I’ve never seen.
-
The library has a copy.
-
Work computer is having to reboot. My allergies are acting up. I hope these are not signs of how the day will go.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Glad to see DR TCB last night, and congratulations on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!!
-
I watched the first episode of MANIFEST, and wanted to watch the rest, but somehow never got around to it.
-
DR vixmom - I am really, really sorry about your news. Really not the outcome you or any of us were hoping for.
{{{{{hugs!!}}}}}
-
I guess the only good news here is that for a time you will continue to receive the Federal expanded UI benefits.
-
Thanks for the book recommendations, DR elmore3003!
-
Glad bk's reading went well. I, too, am unfamiliar with the movie.
-
Happy to find that Christopher Gillett's 3 volumes are available as one Kindle book at a reasonable price.
-
I have added an hour of exercise to my morning routine. It's good for me, but I'm finding it's making me feel rushed going into my work day.
-
Good morning, all.
-
A laurel and hearty welcome back for TCB.
-
Vixmom, I'm so sorry to hear this. Because, as you said, and as we all have known, it's not just a job loss. It's the most ideal job you could have had, with good people and so close to home, etc.
Well, let's get to kicking those vibes into high gear.
-
I, too, have never seen Nothing in Common.
-
Well, I've got a long list of things that need to be attended to today, so I had best get on with it.
-
Congrats to MR BK & Co. on their reading! I, too, am enjoying reading all about it.
Perhaps MR BK is keeping a diary that can be written later as a book.....NOTHING IN COMMON COMING about the making of the musical and when it wins the Tony Award, it will be a best seller.
-
I am shocked and saddened by DR VIXMOM's news....and send her the best of vibes!
-
Vibes to DR JANE on her upcoming trip - it sounds like a blast.
-
It's hard for me to hear the internet right now.....across the street there is some tree trimming and branch crunching going on....but the weather is so nice, I hate to close the window.
Birdy Barnum is not amused.
-
I am intrigued by the stand up desk of DR singdaw!
-
Two BIG numbers learned and blocked last night....and we are moving on!
Still minus ONE brother.
-
I, too, have never seen Nothing in Common.
Me, three!
-
I am back from my haircut.
-
DR John, how super cool that you saw a Caracara.

As am I :(
-
Wednesday afternoon greetings! For the next several days I will be at my computer from time to time tuning in to the virtual American Library Association Annual Conference.
-
DR Vixmom,

-
DR Vixmom, I'm so sorry to hear your news.
-
DR TCB it is nice to see you.

I've had my bath and washed my hair,. and I would love a nap.

DR John, how super cool that you saw a Caracara.

Enormous bird.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
Sorry to hear the vixmom news and big excellent vibes and xylophones for dealing with it.
-
elmore, of course we'll need an orchestrator, at least that's the hope :)
-
I find very few people who've actually seen the film of Nothing in Common - they've all heard of it. The fact is, it wasn't a hit and had issues that we've tried to address in the musical.
-

It never hurts to ask!

I think those are the best movies to adapt.

I agree.
-
I've had my bath and washed my hair
But can you do a thing with it?
-
Meanwhile, in a field somewhere...
-
Is this Thatch?
-
Will we never see the end of Page Two?
-
Perhaps...
-
Aha!! Page Three!
-
I think Sparkling Ice Black Raspberry is pretty grand.
-
DAMN IT!
I was in the supermarket today, in that very aisle, and I completely forgot to look for Sparkling Ice.
-
In other words,
DAMN IT TO HELL.
-
Speaking of markets.... As we exited Safeway today Keith said he is done wearing masks unless requested to wear them.
-
Our new summer sheets arrived today, just in time as the temps are rising.
-
I hope without flannel sheets we can turn the air conditioning down at night.
-
Glad Keith has joined the partay.
-
Back from picking up a package - Kleenex and a lot of it.
-
Glad Keith has joined the partay.
He pretty much joined it in Montana-lol. We still carry them at the gym in case heavy breathers are too close to us.
-
So the Montreal Canadiens are playing the Las Vegas team in the playoffs. And the differences are astounding.
We are only allowed 3500 masked people in the stands (which seems a bit low). But Las Vegas has a completely full arena and I didn't notice anyone wearing masks. I just don't understand how that can be. I'm assuming that they don't have to prove that they were vaccinated. We have a population 3 X Nevada with 4 times less cases.
But maybe more people in Nevada are fully vaccinated? Here 80% of adults have 1 shot but only 20% are fully vaccinated (as we just started doing second shots 2 weeks ago).

It's interesting how cautious you guys were before. Masks are still mandatory here. I will see how I feel when they no longer are.

Nevada was not one of the better states regarding masks. Currently they are only at 40% vaccinated, while Washington state is at 68%. I would say the the chances too many of those unmasked fans are lying about being vaccinated.
I am not positive about the percentages and they vary at different sites.

I am still more cautious than Keith is. Neither of us, if we were interested, would go to a crowded unmasked stadium. People, on the whole, are not crowding together at the market. I will probably continue to wear my mask because it doesn't bother me there. Working out at the hot gym is a challenge when wearing a mask. For the most part I am able to keep my distance. I slowly wore it less and less until the last two times I walked in maskless.
It look awhile to get used to the freedom of not wearing a mask when the recommendation is we don't need them. I still feel uncomfortable about it.

It appears the saga of the bathroom ceiling has ended. Building management sent someone today to repair the ceiling over our shower, which signals to me that they believe the leak from above has been fixed.
May it be so.
-
Vibes the leak has been fixed!
-
Thanks, DR Jane!
-
Tuckered out after a
full day's few minute's work.

Watching the last episode of Cher. Ray Charles and the Muppets are her special guests. This may be the best episode of all.
-
Glad to get this finished. I got a slew of movies from the library today, including Midnight Cowboy and The Father, plus the series Mystery Road with Judy Davis.
-
I may need to take a day off to catch up on my videos. No, wait. I would have to take a month off to do that.
-
Spent a lot of time on the phone today about Nothing in Common - first with the lyricist, talking about the two songs I know will be replaced and other adjustments.
-
Tuckered out after a full day's few minute's work.
;D Awww.
-
Then with one of the authors - just general feelings and notes I had, all of which he agreed with - including a better ending, cutting fat, etc.
-
As we headed out for a walk today we saw our neighbor with her Doxy pup. We were outside the complex and the sidewalk and didn't expect him to get so excited. He half pulled her towards us. Even puppies learn quickly that we carry treats :)
-
She then handed me the squirmy excited pup over the bushes bordering the property. His tail was going a mile a minute and he smothered me in kisses. I held him while Keith gave him treats.
-
I am used to kittens, cats, and substantial puppies that grow into big dogs. I'm always afraid I will drop him but fear holding him too tight.
-
Even though holding him is not my idea of fun I am pleased to say she has no clue.
-
He is a sweet pup and is going to be a good dog.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Four!
-
Good night, Singdaw.
-
I may retire early. I have less than 30 pages in my latest Edith Wharton novella, Sanctuary.
-
It was a busy day. Not altogether stressful. Just busy.
-
That’s my news.
-
Gratuitous post No. 99!
-
Good night, all.
-
I’m enjoying the notes on the making of Nothing in Common, a movie I’ve never seen.
Ditto and ditto.
-
I checked, and my library doesn't have it. :P
-
I guess I'll have to purchase it from somewhere.
-
I'm home.
-
So, things have been changing at work. ::)
-
A few months ago, my supervisor quit and got a consulting job where he can stay home all the time.
-
Good for him, but not for us.
-
He really knew his stuff.
-
They eventually hired a guy who seemed to know his stuff too, so that's good.
-
But for some reason, they let him go after only two months! :o
-
Since he was on probation (everyone is on probation for six months), any new employee can be fired and any new employee can quite for no reason...hence probation.
-
So, another person who oversees a couple of other departments took over the general supervision (she admitted that she knows nothing of finance and is just supervising us), and the hunt for a new Finance Manager continued.
-
Well, the temp supervisor is more of a by-the-book kind of supervisor and doesn't allow personal use of the computer (accessing Internet sites) unless work related, so I can't log into sites like HHW when I'm at work anymore. :(
-
I will follow the rules (now that I've been
caught reminded of the policy), so I'll have to ketchup on my breaks or lunch and after work.
-
In the words of Ladislav Sipos in She Loves Me: DO NOT...LOSE...YOUR JOB!
-
;D
-
I'm sure that it'll be fine.
-
::)
-
Vixmom - From what I have been able to figure out from today’s posts, I assume your office is closing, and you are unemployed. I am so very sorry about your news. After all those horrible years at your former job, I figured God was making it up to you. At least you know now what to look for in a new employer and hopefully you will not have to settle for less.
-
The temp supervisor had a meeting today with us and we were told that they finally hired a new finance coordinator (I guess the position is now slightly lower than the previously named "finance manager" position), and she's an internal hire.
-
Oh, look! It's Page Five!
-
I'm not going to test the rules with the new coordinator, at all.
-
I will respect the rules and refrain from web surfing, as instructed.
-
Sunday in Seattle is expecting a temp of 104 degrees. One degree higher than the all-time high of 103.
-
See Ladislav Sipos's quote. ;)
-
Sunday in Seattle is expecting a temp of 104 degrees. One degree higher than the all-time high of 103.
I heard that, too! :P
-
Georgie can expect an all-time high of 108 degrees in Olympia on Sunday!!
-
The temps keep going up every day.
-
After work today, I helped my sister's boyfriend return a utility sink to Costco, and after that, I went to my friend Margo's and helped her set up a window air conditioner that she got from her daughter.
-
Georgie can expect an all-time high of 108 degrees in Olympia on Sunday!!
FFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDDDDDGGGGGGGGEEEEEE EE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I have finished reading Garson Kanin’s ONE HELL OF AN ACTOR.
-
It is one heck of a book, but I don’t mean that as a rave. It was interesting, at best.
-
And I have now started watching the third season of MANIFEST on Hulu.
-
I wish NBC would allow them to make a two-hour movie to wrap up all the loose ends.
-
Of course, they did that with FIREFLY and they managed to kill off half of the cast.
-
I wish NBC would allow them to make a two-hour movie to wrap up all the loose ends.
I know! There have been so many shows over the years that were cancelled on a cliffhanger. :P
-
I think I may finally start using my AC this weekend, beginning on Friday.
-
DR John, how super cool that you saw a Caracara.

Interesting...a bird with a toupee!
:))
-
I think I may finally start using my AC this weekend, beginning on Friday.
Enjoy it! My sister has AC, but I don't. I could drive around in my car all day, but that would use up too much gas.
-

Agreed! There are just tooooo many remakes of really good original works! What's the point of that?? Remake/reboot/reinvent something that's flawed and fix the flaws!
