Well, you've read the notes, the notes ruminated, and now it is time for you to post until the ruminating cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: VERNACULAR!
-
Topic of the Day: Yes.
-
;)
-
Thank you to all of you for the welcome home wishes.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
That is all.
-
At this time.
-
But I'm sure there will be more to come.
-
Later.
-
[a Sondheim reference]
-
Good morning, all!
-
Terrible news from Miami about that building collapse. Pity it wasn't Mar-a-Lago.
-
The laundry is in the washers, so that's good.
-
I am not ready to go back into a public venue. I'm vaccinated, and I would love to dump my outdoors mask, but there are too many fools and ridiculous anti-vaxxers (my niece is one of those nitwits) strolling about, and if my mother did one thing for me, she made me paranoid.
-
Last night I watched a Royal Opera video of Peter Grimes starring John Vickers, whom I saw as Peter Grimes at the Met) and Heather Harper. I didn't like the set or staging much, but at least the costumes were 19th century. I am so tired of seeing contemporary productions with everyone in last year's frocks. I don't know if productions are being really cheap these days or if the Eurotrash directors think it points up the work's relevancy to its dumbed-down audience.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I wish I were still asleep.
-
I think it’s allergies.
-
Good morning, all.
-
It doesn't feel like it should be Thursday already.
-
I'm sure there's been some mistake.
-
The laundry is in the dryers, and I have a 30-minute break before I need to head back to the basement. Kitty cleanup is over, the bed is made, and all is well. So far.

DR ChasSmith, is there any good day after July 1 to come in for a visit and to pick up cartons of things? Since I'll need Michael to help with the cartons, I want to be sure he's available.

Certainly. I could possibly do it on Friday the 2nd. My next free days would be the following week, probably any of the weekdays. Want to take a look at those and let me know what might work?

One More Angel is now done and done.....or at least ready for improvements. We have a very good cast - what there is of them....
I guess that answers the question for me about the TOD. Yes, I am ready and moving on.
And yes there are still the ZOOM shows going on......
-
White Kitty has taken to visiting me a couple of times a day. Yesterday she jumped into my lap for a few scratches and pets....I bought a small bowl and put some Friskies treats in it.
They were gone last night....so I added a few more this morning. She came by and lolled around on the side walk for awhile....and then left....
I plan to get some photos tomorrow.
-
This morning at 7:45 a.m. I heard a van roaming around the neighborhood.
After a few passes - it backed up into my driveway and sat there idling.....tinted windows.....government license plates.....
And sat there....and sat there.....then it started moving forward and turned left out of my driveway and proceeded up the street.
It stopped in front of another house - and some guys got out and the folks in the house came running toward them.....and they were talking about how they had been at the wrong house etc etc....
I thought maybe one of those Social Security Calls that I hung up on had been real.....
-
That's kind of alarming, DR Jrand70!

Where, oh where is our DR vixmom?

Would July 6 or 7 be good?

I hope not DR ELMORE.....but I wouldn't be surprised.
-
I wonder if it will be 755 degrees at DR GEORGE's house again this weekend?

Yes, either of those, as it stands now.
And because of the near impossibility of finding parking on the street, we can do as we've done before: I'll park in the garage on 83rd and we'll visit however long we want. Then I'll retrieve the car and we'll load it and I'll go. So if I get down there by, say, 11:00 am, would you see that working for you and Michael over the next couple of hours?

I think it might be easier to pick up the cartons first, so Michael can go on his way after.

Very.

Okay, so then we'll meet at an agreed upon time, load up, I'll take the car to the parking garage, then we can visit.

Good Morning.
TOD - having spent a week in Florida at Walt Disney World where I didn't wear a mask 85% of the time, I think I'm ready to be out. It helps if you are vaccinated, of course, and it begins to be a trust "game" if you will. Since I've been home, I've noticed that most of the places I've been to have a "mask optional" policy IF you are vaccinated. Once again, it's a trust thing. I've been to the movie theatres as well. I think it's something that each individual needs to do at their own pace. Trust is difficult - trusting the vaccine, trusting that those who are not wearing a mask are vaccinated. Eventually, it will seem like the flu.
Whatever you do, do your best that you feel safe!

Welcome back DR TCB!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
DR Vixmom I am so sorry to hear your news. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Interesting...a bird with a toupee!

Doesn't she just?
-
T.O.D.
I'm certainly ready to go back out into the world, but not to movie theaters.
I stopped going to movie theaters long before COVID.
The last movie I saw in a theater was ZERO DARK THIRTY (2012).
-
I know that's what Debra Messing would do.
-
LOL!
That compleat jerk Rudy Giuliani has had his law license suspended! I hope step 2 is a prison sentence.
-
It couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
-
It’s so hot that the AC on its day setting is going into overdrive.

One of my supervisors uses the term "disco" to mean disconnect. My brain can only think of one thing every time:
Got Tu Go Disco.

A vastly under appreciated musical.
-
DR George thanks for the reminder to wear masks at Costco today. It was very crowded and I made sure, not that I could really force me, that Keith also wore his.
-
While the majority of people did not wear masks, a good number were. All the employees wore masks.

I would rather see Christopher Durang's version of The Three Sisters, Got To Go Moscow!

I wanna see that, too! With disco underscoring.

I asked Alexa this morning to play City Lights from The Act. Well, I would have to pay extra for that, but instead she played a station based on that song. It started with I Will Survive.
Huh?
-
Onward …
-
Three!
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine-and-a-half hours of needed sleep. I went down an unexpected rabbit hole last night and didn't get to bed until four-thirty.

I'm wondering the same thing!! :o

You are evil.
:))
-
I am hesitant to go to a theater where I don't know who I am sitting next to, or in front of.
-
The current info I have read says you are less likely to give someone covid if you are vaccinated. To me than means if I get covid it is probably from an unvaccinated, unmasked person.
-
If I do get covid the chances are it will not be a big deal, EXCEPT that I will have to stay home away from others. I do not want to have to do that.
-
TOD:
The only place I see masks anymore is at the library. And I will wear my mask tomorrow while ushering. It's still mandatory there, though I guess I'll find out if there are changes tomorrow.
-
I'm ushering for two performances of Gabriel Iglesias, aka "Fluffy."
-
He's not fat, he's Fluffy.
-
I'm watching French Exit, and I really like it.
-
Of course, Michelle Pfeiffer is wonderful. But so is the quirky script.
-
I made chicken stock tonight. Well, I'm still making it.
-
This recipe takes some time.
-
I just strained everything out. Now I have to simmer for another hour.
-
I can use the chicken in salad this weekend. Should be good.
-
Sounds yummy!
-
Good night, friends.
-
Where was everyone today?
-
Out looking for copies of Nothing in Common?
-
My copy should arrive at the library in the next few days.
-
While the soup continues to cook, I'm starting Mystery Road Season 1 with Judy Davis.
-
Looks intriguing. Jeanne, have you seen it?
-
It's an Acorn selection.
-
Today would have been Dad's 93rd birthday.
-
Mom is not taking it too well.
-
Tomorrow she signs the papers to move into assisted living.
-
I have to take a look over the lease. It's 36 pages long.
-
One more ...
-
Four!
-
BK, should I have received my 10 CDs from the Indiegogo campaign by now?
-
Because I haven't.
-
Hello, 1 guest.
-
Have you seen the strawberry moon?
-
It was pretty spectacular here.
-
It wasn't strawberry colored.
-
Watched the first episode of Mystery Road. It was good enough to make me want to continue.
-
It's another series that uses an actor from A Place to call Home. Aaron Pedersen is unrecognizable from that show.
-
Gratuitous post No. 99!
-
Good night, all.
-
I am hesitant to go to a theater where I don't know who I am sitting next to, or in front of.
Both movie theaters and performing arts theaters that I've gone to have had distanced seating so one was too close to each other. And all the employees at both places wore masks...at least, here in Olympia.
-

I think our library branches still require that employees wear masks when interacting with the public. The public doesn't come into my building, so we can work without masks.
-

Cool. I'm ushering for two events this weekend, so I need to make sure I wash my usher shirt.
-
Today would have been Dad's 93rd birthday.
Mom is not taking it too well.
{{{HUGS!!}}}
-
I renewed my tab(s) this afternoon at my lunch time.
-
I peeled off a stack of stickers from previous years and the earliest one, which did not come off, was 2014! :o
-
;D
-
I went to Barnes & Noble after work tonight.
-
I probably haven't been in a few months.
-
I bought a couple of cast albums on vinyl...just because.
-
I bought the original Broadway cast recordings on Hello, Dolly! (newly reissued) and Tina: The Tina Turner Musical.
-
They only had one copy of the B&N exclusive (of course), limited edition gold vinyl version.
-
Amazon lists it, but at twice the price as B&N!
-
Back from the Smokehouse - and right then and there I decided no more of this Keto crap - I lost the initial weight and haven't really gone down beyond that, which means it's not a diet I need to be on. So, from here on in, back to calorie counting and being good that way. So, in honor of no more Keto I had some garlic cheese bread, a wedge, a shrimp cocktail, and a cup of clam chowder, all great.
-
Tomorrow may be either a sandwich or burger day - or perhaps even a taco day. Color me happy.
-
Just got in from going to dinner with the husband of my bff who is out of town at the moment. We had a lovely time. I think he's happy she's returning tomorrow.
-
I fell asleep when I should have been awake
-
Now I am awake when I should be asleep
-
So far this week I’ve been told I’ve lost my beloved job
-
My brother had a severe back injury which required surgery to prevent permanent paralysis from the waist diwn
-
It appears the surgery was successful as he has regained some feeling and movement in his legs
-
Vixdad’s best friend’s house caught on fire
-
I am selfishly moping about my situation
-
While my brother in law and his wife are rejoicing that they live in Canada and have access to excellent free health care and that he may be able to someday walk again
-
And our friends with the fire (and two kids graduating high school on Saturday) are thankful for no one being hurt, friends who opened their home for them to live while their house is being rebuilt, and another neighbor who is now hosting a graduation party for the kids on Sunday
-
Puts my problems into perspective
-
So I am ashamed to whine
-
( mind you I’m still feeling sorry for myself but I’m ashamed about it)
-
I am glad TCB is back and I hope all is well with him
-
I went to see a band play in a small bar in Brooklyn last Friday
-
So I guess the answer to the TOD is I am ready
-
I carry masks with me and wear them in stores and anywhere there is a sign posted requesting masks
-
We’ve just stopped wearing them in the office except when clients are there
-
I don’t really mind one way or the others it doesn’t bother me to wear a mask
-
I would like people to continue to keep their distance
-
It’s been nice to have people respectful of my personal space
-
Well I’m going to try to go back to sleep
-
Good night
-
~~~Hugs and Vibes of All Kinds for Vixmom!!~~~
-
I wonder if it will be 755 degrees at DR GEORGE's house again this weekend?
What does that even mean?
-
T.O.D.
Not really. I suppose I will in time. I don’t have a problem wearing a mask, especially with my C.O.P.D. I still can’t figure out how people’s civil rights are being violated by requiring them to wear a mask.
-
Sunday they are saying it will be 104 degrees in Seattle, and 106 degrees on Monday.
-
George is still looking for temps between 108 and 109 on those days.
-
I guess I can expect temps at my condo to be closer to 108 degrees.
-
This weather is just insanity.
-
Nothing like this has ever happened in the Northwest before.
-
I must change this page.
-
We are I am almost done here.
-
One more post.
-
Page Six
-
I need to get ready for bed.
-
Good night, nobody!
They're NOT! :P
I'm definitely NOT looking forward to that! :P
-
Nothing like this has ever happened in the Northwest before.
Amazing...and not in a good way.
-
Vixmom, never be ashamed about whining. It's good not to hold this stuff in and no one here thinks you're whining.
