Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a sundae on a Saturday, and now it is time for you to post until the sundae cows to come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PINNACLE!
-
Congrats on another good performance of the playlet, BK!
-
Today, I'm ushering again for a local dance school, but at the Washington Center. Today's call time is 5:00, and I think I'll go to another air conditioned restaurant before the show, and maybe even after, too. We'll see what it's like after the show.
-
And now, I'm off to bed. Hopefully, I'll be able to sleep well!
Have a good day day, all...and stay cool!!
-
Good morning, all!
-
It was a warm and muggy night. Annabelle abandoned her pillow next to me and moved to the other side of the bed to sleep next to Thatch. Stella came barreling in some time around 4:00, but she didn't stay long, and when I checked the clock at 5:12, all three cats had vanished, only to return when I sat up, turned on the light and began to rise from my bed.
-
I am not looking forward to it, but the bathroom needs some serious cleaning today. I've let the cats run wild in there for too long.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
DR George's dance event was an hour long. Once they had finished announcing the full event title, there was 20 minutes left for dancing.
-
Paddy Considine came to Broadway a couple of years ago with The Ferryman, but he was long gone by the time I saw it late in the run. I first saw him in the BBC Suspicions of Mr Whicher, in which he played Mr Whicher, a British detective who was a model Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. I've also seen him in a small role in Hot Fuzz, which seems to be a Midsomer Murders parody, although I prefer the same team's horror parody Shaun of the Dead.
-
My favorite is In America, a heartbreaking, beautiful film in which he plays a young Irish man sneaking into the USA with his family to become an actor. Considine and the rest of the cast are absolutely wonderful.

I’ll second that. Beautifully acted film.

Bells are playing this morning for the first time since the pandemic.
-
Kitty cleanup is over. I got in some bathroom cleaning, but I cannot find the pack of sponges I purchased several months ago. I'll order some from the corner bodega this morning and finish up this afternoon.
-
Sunday. Today is a Family Reunion that I planned on attending - but instead I will be attending a Meeting of Bored that should have been scheduled NEXT Sunday, but that is July 4 - so maybe that is why it was changed.
It would have been nice to see my cousins - on my dad's side. I am hoping a few of my brothers and sisters will attend.
-
I am still trying to figure out how I will stage GO GO GO JOSEPH with the small number of folks I have.
And of course talking again with the choreographer who for some reason feels that there should be a lyrical dance during the ENTIRETY of "Close of Every Door".....Joe is not singing backup so that somebody can prance around.... Dancing during the interlude only - a concept that is foreign to her.
-
HA!
Vibes for everyone.
Glad to hear that the playlet went well. And I hope DR GEORGE has fun at his dance event. Let me know if you see any steps I can use during the Act One Finale!
-
The previous owners arrived and picked up White Kitty on Thursday.....just the previous day she had moseyed over to my house and slept beside me as I sat in my rocker on the front porch.
As she was wrapping herself around my legs, I tapped my hand on my knees and she jumped up on my lap for a minute or two.....
I hope she is happy in her new home with her owners!
-
The Friskies treats have been missing every morning from the small bowl....so something is enjoying them......
-
Good morning!

I hope so, too!

The sponges have been delivered, so I guess I need to make the bed and finish the bathroom.

Good morning one and all. There's a new Broadway Radio Show now posted here for your enjoyment. This edition is a chat with Actress/Singer Eleri Ward about her new album A Perfect Little Death a wonderful collection of Sondheim songs done in the style of folk singer Sufjan Stevens....it's a real treat and even more amazing that she recorded the whole album in her New York closet during the pandemic. I think it's one of the best vocalist recordings of 2021.

Sounds fun, Donald.
-
Bells sounded good. But we need more players. It would be nice to fill out three octaves.
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
Just got back home from playing that church service which is an hour away.
They have now gone totally unmasked, etc. I'd played there a few times over the past year, so it was kind of strange to be doing so without my own mask. But it was warm, and good not to have one on.
-
I do not know the Red Riding Trilogy, but it sounds good.
-
When I went to bed last night I left TCM on at low volume and enjoyed waking up to a different Hitchcock movie every couple of hours. It's been quite the marathon, and it continues till early tomorrow morning. Nothing I need to watch because I have it all, but it's nice when you know that you can flip it on and see something of quality.
-
From DR George:
Who's going to beat that??
I was warm with the A/C set at 74 degrees.
-
DR TCB poor babies getting frightened by the air conditioner. Did they recover?

I am sorry. Maybe you can leave early.

Awww. May she have a good life in her new home.

I went for a walk from 9:00 - 10:00 and returned home very hot. I think it is a bit on the humid side.
-
We are going out in a few minutes for our joint walk. I am sure it will mostly be in the shade. I hope the wind as picked up to give us a nice breeze.
-
And now, I'm off to bed. Hopefully, I'll be able to sleep well!
Have a good day day, all...and stay cool!!
I'm up and was actually able to sleep well. I slept on top of my covers and had all of my windows open, so that helped create a slight breeze to keep me cool enough during the night. :)

It's 88.7°F in my bedroom right now.

A friend posted this on Facebook...it's a quite interesting confluence of real politics and science fiction:

Who knew??
-
I used to watch Star Trek: Voyager, and if I had heard about it back then, I certainly didn't pay attention. ::)
-
DR ChasSmith - did the church you play at have congregational singing? My church still requires masks for everyone attending in-person and as of yet is not having corporate singing.
-
This morning, a single person played two bell solos. It was fascinating watching how they had to "mis-lay" the bells in the wrong order to be able to play the tune correctly all by themselves. I think my brain would short-circuit.
-
It was good that I got there early, as the electronic copy of the music I had received earlier had, inexplicably, missing syllables here and there. So I had time to get that all straightened out to avoid a disaster.
-

Well, I wouldn't call 98 degrees cool, however we did have a decent breeze :)

And we came home to air conditioning.

Chances are details of his sex life might have had more to do with their divorce than the long distance relationship.

up from a nap

Watching the rest of Mystery Road. Got about an hour left. The acting and the locations are great. So, are the politics. I think the script is a little stretched out. But not horribly so.
-
We have had rain several times today, including a thunderstorm. It's supposed to storm all week.
-
The rains, however, aren't cooling things off. They're just creating a sauna.
-
But the plants are happy.

Let's move on ...

I had to open the article to see what the protesters meant.
"Anti-Vaxxers Shout ‘Stop Segregation’ Outside Fully Vaxxed Bruce Springsteen Show
Oh goodness. They feel oppressed as they are not permitted into the theater unless they have been vaccinated ::)

Right...that's oppression. Give me a break! ::)
-
Meanwhile, in an upstairs bedroom in Tumwater recently:
-
Loved this comment from Peter Marks' review in the Washington Post:
His curation includes one of the key requirements for admission: a vaccination card. “It’s great,” he remarks. “Unmasked, sitting next to each other.” Bizarrely, theatergoers were greeted outside the St. James by a cadre of screaming, placard-waving anti-vaccination protesters, who feel aggrieved by the fact that the government wants to save their lives. Their rage is a bewildering counterpoint to the joy inside the theater at the freedoms the vaccines have given back to us. The demonstration is as out-of-touch as “Springsteen on Broadway” feels in-touch.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eleven hours of sleep, which I guess I needed.
-
And NOW, it's already up to 98.1°!! Those are both higher than my normal body temperature, which is usually around 96.5°!

These people are bonkers, and if sick spreading covid.

DR George I feel for you. Keep hydrated.

I don't know who can see this. I took it off of former DR Ann's FB page.

Yup! I've had two 16-ounce bottles of water already.

Summergeddon 2021. Day 1, 1700: It can’t be ignored any longer; Tacoma will soon be a smoldering wasteland.
The sunburnt masses venture out only to scour the city for fans and A/C units. Roadways will surely become unusable as tires begin to melt in the relentless heat.
Irritating reports are trickling in of California transplants shuffling around the sidewalks of downtown going, “What’s the big deal bruh? It’s Summmm-errr…”
-
I especially like the part about the California transplants ;D

Of course, people could just be driving around because their cars have AC when their houses don't. That's my situation.
-
I remember doing that, as well as spending hours in the market. I would also go to malls to walk around though in the severe East Coast summers they often weren't all that refreshing.
-
The hot humid summer in New Jersey that I was pregnant with Craig I took Bryan to Dairy Queen for dinner. The AC was broken and it was hotter there than at home. Bryan was so happy to be eating there I couldn't leave. He was fine while I feared I would pass out.
-
My friend in Port Angeles with three hot Bernese Mt Dogs posted this on FB.
102 outside, 86 in the house, 70 in the RV with the A/C going, we are taking an afternoon siesta in the RV
The dogs looks much happier than in an earlier photo taken inside the house, even in front of a fan.

Yikes! I remember going to the local Dairy Queen a couple of times during the winter and it was still air conditioned...VERY cold! I need to take a shower now and leave to usher, so maybe I'll stop there for a quick bite.
Until later.
-
Happy to say it's in the 80s here.
-
Hot dogs cooking.

And movie theaters. No wonder F9 made $70 million this weekend.

I would really like ice cream today, but it's my fourth day of not actively eating sugar. There might have been some sugar in the Thai food I had for lunch, but I asked for it without. And there was a trace in the popcorn chip I had last night.
-
No sugar in the dinner I just made of roast lamb, tomato salad with shallots and basil from the garden, and leftover rice warmed in butter.
-
I will have enough lamb for the rest of the week, from the looks of things.
-
Happy to say it's in the 80s here.
Nice.

I need to be good like you.

I was going to watch Midnight Cowboy, but the player wouldn't accept the disc.
So, it's Nothing in Common.
-
Four!

I had delicious fresh blueberries from Costco.

After all the stories of missing people in Florida visiting family or friends, it is nice to read of a resident who was not home. His girlfriend had talked him into staying at her place that night. Fortunately it wasn't the other way around.
-
Well, I didn't go to Dairy Queen. I did drive through Jack in the Box, though.
-
I'm ushering on the balcony level. This is from the most upper lobby:
-
The show should be starting soon, so until later!

So, whatever happened to Bess Armstrong? I really enjoyed her. And she's great in Nothing in Common.

Gratuitous post No. 99!

Yes, I up high.
;)
-
That's the thing about the Washington Center...it's not a very deep theater, but it's tall!
-
It's supposed to have good accoustics, though.
-
So, it's Nothing
OK, Morales.
-
We started Mystery Road tonight. So far, so good. DR John G., from Acorn, it looks like there was a second series.
-
~~~CONTINUED COOLING VIBES~~~ for all DRs as needs 'em!!!!!!
-
My mother had a second opinion on her wrist. They are recommending surgery to completely re-set everything and put in pins.
This is scheduled for Friday morning. Fortunately, it will be outpatient.
-
So, whatever happened to Bess Armstrong? I really enjoyed her. And she's great in Nothing in Common.
She has been in 10 episodes of Bosch playing a judge.
Excellent. I need to watch that from the beginning.
-
Whoa!
-
I'm an hour into Nothing in Common. It's not bad, but it's been directed like a sitcom. You can almost hear the studio audience.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Nothing in Common has come to an end. Time for some Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space!
-
Seriously.
-
I had never even heard of this show. But I'll apparently watch anything that doesn't feature Tom Cruise.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Five!
-
So, the dance recital was supposed to only last an hour, but it went a little longer than an hour and a half!
-
How rude! >:(
-
I was ushering up in the balcony.
-
It was warmer than the lower levels, but not unbearably so.
-
I'm now having a bacon, egg and cheese flatbread in a local, and air conditioned, Subway restaurant. :)
-
It's quite tasty!
-
I'm also drinking BK's favorite, diet Coke.
-
Another customer here at Subway was just chatting with the server and told her that the PNW right now is hotter than 99.9% of the entire earth! :o
-
And tomorrow, it's going to get even hotter!
-
Well, I'm going to leave Subway now...mostly because my phone battery is going to die soon, and then I won't have anything to read.
-
I'm going to head home, and hopefully my house won't still be hot as an oven.
-
I'll find out soon enough!
-
Good night, all.
-
I'll find out soon enough!
And I found out. :P
-
The movie of Nothing in Common has many issues that we've hopefully corrected and/or fixed for the musical.
-
Watched two documentaries, and then the extras on the Red Riding Trilogy disc.
-
Ooo...my bedroom it cooling off! It's down to 95.9°!
-
All-time high temperature for Seattle today hitting 104 degrees.
-
The record will stand for approximately 24 hours when we hit a new all-time record between 109 and 115 degrees!!
-
Last night I only had the A/C for about an hour.
-
Last night I only had the A/C for about an hour.
Lucky you!
-
Tonight I turned it on at around 7:00 pm, and it is still running.
-
WAIT! I had better go catch it.
-
Night time temp is supposed to be between 75 and 80 degrees by dawn.
-
115 in Puyallup tomorrow! No way!
-
115 in Puyallup tomorrow! No way!
Holy Crap!! :o
-
The cats are braving the living room rather than put up withe the noisy A/C.
-
I hate to have to turn off the A/C before I go to sleep, but I don’t feel safe leaving the slider open.
-
I guess George left.
-
Page 6
-
It is medication time.
-
Good night to 0 guests!
I guess George left.
I had to pee. I'm back.
-
Just had to share. ;)
Good night, Tom.
