Well, you've read the notes, the notes were hearty and said hello to July, and now it is time for you to post until the hearty hello cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: STALWART!
-
Good morning, all!

Hopefully the heatwave is over. Last night the cats and I slept under the breeze of a cooling fan. Annabelle slept on her pillow which raises her higher off the mattress and gives her the most access to the fan. She stayed there all night.
-
Last night we watched Georgy Girl, which I had not seen in 50+ years since its first release. At that time I saw it twice, but I remembered next to none of it. I had remembered it was a comedy, but it isn't. I remembered it had great leads, and it does. Lynn Redgrave is so amazing, Charlotte Rampling never makes one effort to be likable as her whorish, shallow flatmate, Alan Bates is the epitome of every unattainable fantasy of an awkward ugly ducking, and James Mason - in whom the PC crowd would find creepy and lecherous (God knows what they would think of Moliere's School for Wives!) - as a sadsack millionaire maintains his dignity and humanity and yet remains the butt of the joke.
I always loved the pop version of the title song by the Seekers, but I had forgotten that the lyrics sung in the film are not the lyrics of the pop aong.

DR JohnG, Stephen Fry now has a third book in his Mythos series.
-
Cosby's sycophants can crow about vindication, but he's still a sex offender found guilty. In the 1990s I worked for aboutr a year with a young black actress named Amber, who had been involved with "Cosby's Kids," and she claimed he was a perv.

Good morning, all.

DR JohnG, Stephen Fry now has a third book in his Mythos series.
Looking forward to it. Thanks for letting me know it’s out.
-
I wanna sleep.

Good morning, all.
-
Georgy Girl is in my very tall to-watch pile. Looking forward to it.
-
BK sez:
If you’ve never seen it, I really recommend giving it a try.
My confession o' the day: I have never seen A.I. I shall make it a point to do so one of these days.
-
I liked A.I. when I saw it way back when.....but I'm not sure I even watched it all the way through.
DR ELMORE reminds me that I always like GEORGY GIRL when I watch it....and the song is different....but it's a great song and I think it had a lot to do with the movie's success in the U.S.
Of course I had friends who went to see The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie because they liked Oliver's song "Jean" and were very disappointed that it really had nothing much to do with the film.....
"...young and alive"?

Said DIVA arrived last night in a pair of white flat shoes.....
I called her to the principal's office and talked with her a bit. I told her she could wear whatever shoes she wanted to wear....but she said she didn't want to wear character shoes if no one else was.....
So anyway....we had a nice talk. She's still "helping" others....but she's a teacher and I don't think she can help herself.
-
I re-did a lot of GO GO GO JOSEPH and it looks really nice. Much better.
Of course I forgot to take my SONY camera to record it. My AD put it on her phone but she is.....technically challenged....and can't get it to load to Facebook....and she tried to put it on her IPAD....she says it's there.
But she doesn't know how to file share or anything....so here we are.
How does one get a file from an IPAD to Facebook?
-
If it's really even REALLY there.....

The pop song is one of my favorites. I didn't realize it was attached to a movie, I'll have to seek it out

If you have the Facebook app on your iPad, it's very simple! Just go to Facebook like you are going to post a message, and choose to post a video, it will prompt you as to where to find the video (which SHOULD be in Photos on the iPad) and choose it and post it.

Good Morning - I'm about to give the BBQ another go this morning and hopefully can complete assembly before I have to get to school to teach my summer school class!
-
Good morning, friends.

'Sup?

Saw it a few months ago and agree with Elmore. Despite some comical moments, it is not a comedy. And Redgrave is just wonderful.

Miss Jean is a bit older now, but thankfully alive.

Started back and realized that I have put the grill together backwards. Hoo and ray.

The temperature has stayed OK today. So far.

DR Jennifer are you doing anything today to celebrate Canada Day?

I remember watching it and enjoying it. I also remember that it was released before September 2001, but near the end of the movie [[SPOILERS!!]] it jumps 2000 years into the future and the twin towers were shown to still be standing. ::) I wonder if Spielberg should go back and change that one image.

I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.
-
Already have done banking, so that's all taken care of. Almost no one in either bank, which is I suppose what happens when the world opens up.
-
Now I'll meet up with a local Indiegogo chap and give him his Tonight's the Night.
-
Thanks DR MATTHEW.
I actually was finally able to access it through Google drive. It was an .MOV file - which may be why it wouldn't upload to Facebook. I converted it to an MP4 file and so it's now on the group and being watched.
-
It's nice to have a few days off.....I don't think I've been home on Thursday night since mid-May.
-
No one has left a review of Tonight's the Night. Those who've seen it and Revenge can do so, and if you've seen Outside the Box you can talk about that, too. Need to get some right away.
-
I've posted one, but Amazon is taking their sweet time vetting it.
-
I play out a variant of this every morning when I go to workout. But not running, as my knees can't take it.
-
Damn Amazon. Bad Amazon.
-
Picked up one package and am now home.
-
Page two? Really?
-
This seems most unseemly.
-
It's ninety degrees here but feels hotter, like much hotter. Air conditioning is now cooling down the home environment.
-
Had pasta papa for the first time in three months - first pasta in three months, too. It was great and only 700 calories.
-
Listening to the studio cast album of Roberta, which is fun.
-
Thankfully, all the show CDs are out of their boxes and on shelves, so not hard to find.
-
Will Page Two ever end?
-
It seems endless.
-
I would love to eat some Pasta Papa.
-
That would ring my bell.

I had a virtual appointment with my sleep doctor this morning.
No good options re: the CPAP recall. Insurance doesn't care that the machine was recalled. They're not going to pay for a new one for another 3 years (they replace them every 5). I have to stop using my ionizing cleaner, and wash the mask and tubing every day by hand - a real pain. I can stop using it, but that wouldn't be good. I imagine for Phillips to do anything about this will take a year or more. OR - I can buy a new one at my own expense - around $1,200. Or I can just keep using the machine and hope that it doesn't wreck my lungs or give me cancer.

OMG DR Singdaw. I am so very sorry. I thought a recall would include a replacement or the money.
-
CPAP VIBES FOR DR SINGDAW!
-
We received an email with reminders of condo rules pertinent to the holiday and season. Included are the rules regarding barbecues, something I never really bother with since we don't want one here.
"Barbecues must be fueled by gas only and no open burning is allowed anywhere on the property"

Three!

That's ridiculous on the part of your insurance.
-
Today was an exhausting day of meeting after meeting. Some things got done, but never enough. I'm hopeful that the next few days will be slower.
-
Went to the supermarket for a few necessities, and the lines were long.
-
But I got what I needed and can now make two of the last three soups in the book.
-
I have a huge pot of vegetables on the stove to make veggie stock. In this heat, it's rather stupid to make something that needs two hours to cook.
-
Next week on the MetOpera.org, all of the operas will be by Richard Strauss.
-
Starting to watch The Father.

Is the doctor positive contesting the decision by your insurance company is useless?

Oh, my goodness! That's terrible! >:(

~~~CPAP Vibes for Singdaw!!~~~
-
The Father is incredible. I haven't seen Ma Rainey yet, but it would be hard to top or even equal Anthony Hopkins' performance. Love the whole cast. This is the second film in a week with Imogen Poots (French Exit was the other), and she's really good. Olivia Coleman is, well, simply perfect.
-
Since I skipped the gym this morning to do laundry and other stuff, an evening walk was needed.
-
Motivating me to walk was Keith's announcement that he was making popcorn tonight.
-
Darn, even after the walk I still feel full from dinner. If I have popcorn my stomach will hurt too much :(
-
Here it is
-
Thanks for the vibes! We shall see what we shall see.
-
Looks good, DR Matthew. I'm sure you'll enjoy cooking with it.
CPAP VIBES FOR DR SINGDAW!
I read this FIVE times before I realized you were not sending Singdaw CRAP vibes
Here it is
Very nice! Enjoy!
DR vixmom ;D
-
I’ve completed 98% of the special project at work
-
I can only assume that tomorrow is my last day
-
I’m very 😞 sad
-
DR vixmom - do you use your very specialized typing skills on the special project?
-
We are sad for you.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Listening to Wozzeck, the NY premiere recording (live) with Mack Harrell and Eileen Farrell, conducted by Mitropoulos. I have the stereo Karl Bohm recording, which I really enjoyed but oh my this one, mono though it may be, is absolutely mesmerizing.
-
Harrell and Farrell - together again.
-
DR vixmom - do you use your very specialized typing skills on the special project?
I type better at work than when I’m using an iPad sitting in the recliner
Well, it's time for me to leave work, so I shall.
Be back later.
CPAP VIBES FOR DR SINGDAW!
I read this FIVE times before I realized you were not sending Singdaw CRAP vibes
Would you have phrased that fiber vibes for Singdaw?
-
Hugs, Vixmom.
-
I am watching a mediocre movie called The Twentieth Century. It's trying very hard to channel a Python vibe. But, alas, it's just flat. I wonder if I would be laughing in a crowded theater of folks who were enjoying it. Maybe not.
-
Thankfully, it's short.
-
Gratuitous post No. 99!
-
Matthew, the grill looks great. May you have many years of enjoyment.
-
I am loving Miss Eileen Farrell and this little box set of her Columbia recordings. I only knew her from her later years and her Great American Songbook albums, which I really enjoyed. But I'd never heard any of her opera recordings or her in her prime, save for an old radio broadcast I have of her doing Bernard Herrmann's For the Fallen with Stokowski (I'll issue it at some point, when I have something that it will make sense to put it with). A stunning voice. After Wozzeck, it was onto Medea highlights in stereophonic sound.
Good evening.
-
Sorry I am late.
-
My breathing has been bad today.
-
Part of it may be the start of the Canadian forest fires.
-
The smoke is just starting to cross into Washington.
-
By this weekend it should be worse.
-
Plus, we can expect the start of the Oregon smoke starting next week.
-
Last year was the first time I remember us having forest fire smoke in Western Washington.
-
It got really bad.
-
Today was a lovely day.
-
Weather-wise.
-
I didn’t do CPAP today.
-
Job vibes to DR vixmom!
-
Good evening.
That doesn’t usually happen on Fourth of July weekend here in Washington.
Right now, it's a very comfortable 76.0°F in my bedroom! ;D
-
Hello, George.
-
Holy Guacamole!
-
The weekend is supposed to be nice.
I'm certainly looking forward to that. :)
-
Time to crack the whip around here.
C R A C K !
Oh we got trouble!
-
Right here in River City
-
RIGHT HERE!
-
Oh dear, my brain is deflated tonight.
-
Oh dear, my brain is deflated tonight.
My brain is just plain dead tonight. ::)
-
I just couldn't fall asleep
last night this morning.
-
I hate it when that happens.
-
I think I caught BK's Active Brain Syndrome. ::)
-
I just couldn't settle down and stop thinking.
-
I don't even remember what I was thinking about, either...just thinking.
-
To paraphrase Sally Durant Plumber: Spend sleepless nights, to think....
-
Sorry, I have been paw wrestling with my girl kittie.
-
Last night I had a crazy dream.
-
Last night I had a crazy dream.
Do tell!
-
I dreamed I was watching this really incredible musical. I was just blown away at how good everything was about it.
I dreamed I was watching this really incredible musical. I was just blown away at how good everything was about it.
Sounds like a good dream...so far.
-
And then the next season started, and I suddenly realized I was watching LOVE NEVER DIES. I kept trying to tell everyone that it wasn’t that good. LOL!
-
That is not a joke. That was really my dream.
