I'm with you, BK! They were hoping Kiri te Kanawa would be the next, but she's neither as intelligent nor talented as Miss Farrell. I've loved her album "I've Got a Right To Sing the Blues" since college, but that Columbia set looks great.

Her 1940s operetta recordings for Decca are wonderful.

I saw this production live around 1984 when the ENO brought several productions to New York. This production was glorious, the score is really beautiful, and Sarah Walker's performance was fierce. I cannot recommend this DVD highly enough.

One boils it in chicken stock and adds crispy bacon toward the end. Another adds pickle brine to the boiling water. Julia Child added apple cider vinegar. Thoughts?

I FINALLY learned to buy packages of ground beef in one pound increments so that I do not end up with three or four days worth of food.

It is hard to learn to cook for one....

I agree. I do like potatoes cooked in chicken stock if I am serving it with roast chicken but for Potato salad I want my potatoes to taste like potatoes

It sounds like I often do after eating, only the painful bouts are longer than the shorter ones. Stress makes it worse. Try taking deep breaths when the pain hits and moving.

I am not sure they would taste like a hot dog, however, they seem as if they would make a good substitute to not killing an animal to eat something tasty in a hot dog bun.

That's always an inconvenience when the wrong size or items are shipped, but what a coinkydink! At my mom's tonight, we actually talked about ordering shoes online, and I said that when I order shoes from Amazon, I look for shoes with free returns, then I buy two different sizes (usually 10 and 10-1/2) and return the size that doesn't fit. :)
