Well, you've read the notes, the notes were sovereign notes, and now it is time for you to post until the sovereign cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SAVANT!
-
Topic of the Day (I think these are all her movies that I've seen):
By the Light of the Silvery Moon
Calamity Jane
The Man Who Knew Too Much
On Moonlight Bay
The Pajama Game
With Six You Get Eggroll
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I have nothing to report at this moment.
-
~~~JOB SEARCH VIBES~~~ for DR vixmom!!!
-
Good morning, all!
-
This is a busy day. Michael Gildin will arrive around 10:00 and we will move ten cartons of books, DVS, and CDs out of the apartment and into the hall. Around 11:00, our DR ChasSmith will arrive for our first face to face visit in over a year. We will visit while Michael runs a few errands for me, and when he returns, we'll have lunch, then pack the vehicle of DR ChasSmith with the cartons, and that's my day.
-
I have several piddly tasks to accomplish before Michael arrives.
-
Annabelle is in a dither since she sees our DR ChasSmith as her official court photographer.
-
DR vixmom, I hope your assembly man can get this identity block taken care of. I'm curious as to why NY Dept. of Labor didn't clear the mess up last year.
-
Wow! I just checked "sovereign citizens" on YouTube. What a collection of morons, dolts, fools, and assholes. I hope it's the last breath of white supremacy, and that such epic stupidity will kill off the breed.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I looked it up. It hasn't just been over a year since I was at DR Elmore's. The last time was in September 2019 -- a year and ten months ago. That's unbelievable, no?
-
So it seems we might be in for some rain today. The professionals are not in agreement as to when or how much.
Definitely all day tomorrow, though, compliments of Elsa.
-
THIS IS A SOVEREIGN POST.
I defy anyone who attempts to do anything about it.
-
I have encountered some Sovereign Citizens on YouTube and everything MR BK says is true +++.
-
Doris Day.
Most of her films have SOMETHING to offer except maybe CAPRICE and WHERE WERE YOU WHEN THE LIGHTS WENT OUT.
I especially enjoy:
Pillow Talk, Lover Come Back, Send Me No Flowers, The Man Who Knew Too Much, Love Me or Leave Me, By the Light of the Silvery Moon, On Moonlight Bay, Leave it to Jane, That Touch of Mink, and Teacher's Pet.
I enjoy all of her movie title songs....especially Pillow Talk.
Her Andre Previn CD, a CD of all of her 60's hits, and a couple of other CD's which I don't have at the moment because they are in the display case at the theatre......
-
Good morning, all.
-
I've finished kitty cleanup, picked up the mail, made the bed, swept up a lot of litter and kibble, and sprta cleaned the apartment. I'm tired.
Sentimental Journey
-
I need a day off to get ready for my day off.
-
TOD - I think the only movie I've seen with Doris Day is "The Pajama Game". I do like her "Annie Get Your Gun" LP she recorded, but other than that, I can't recall others. I'm really bad like that.
-
Good Morning - I have a funeral to play this morning (part of the job, of course, no clue who these people are) and more transposing and then dinner with my BFF, Danny. While Danny helped me move in November, we haven't actually talked in a very long time, so there will be a lot to catch up on.
-
DR Elmore - what's up with the trash situation?
-
From DR TCB:
Yes, thankfully, my sister reached ten months sober on June 28.
Wonderful news and VIBES she continues to stay sober.
-
From DR George:
Not to get political or anything, but I'm sure it sucks to be Rudy Giuliani right now. ::)
:D
-
NEW JOB VIBES FOR DR VIXMOM!
-
Page Two.
how could I forget THE PAJAMA GAME?
-
And I really like this song which is on the Singles Collection CD:
Nice.
-
I can’t believe I forgot It’s Magic. Love that song.
-
I went to a restaurant today for the first time since March 2020.
-
DR Vixmom I would have been so annoyed by your tire guy encounter. But OMG you made me laugh. "oh that's me".🤣
-
DR Elmore - what's up with the trash situation?
The space is cleaned. While DR ChasSmith was here, he could hear my phone conversation with the super about the situation. And, speaking of DR ChasSmith, we had a lovely visit and lunch, and he just left with nine cartons.
-
I loved Miss Day's "Everybody Loves A Lover," in which she sings counterpoint with herself.
-
I went to a restaurant today for the first time since March 2020.
I hope it was a good experience.
-
I checked out a Ralph Ellison audiobook for the drive on Monday. I didn’t realize though that it is 62 hours long. Yikes.
-
It makes me happy to think of DR ChasSmith and DR elmore3003 reuniting in person.
-
I think that the PCPH must have more than the normal quotient of SOVEREIGN ACTORS.
-
The rules do not apply to me. 8)
-
It makes me happy to think of DR ChasSmith and DR elmore3003 reuniting in person.
And we went to a restaurant!
-
The rains have landed hard about 30 minutes ago. I hope DR ChasSmith gets home before they get to Connecticut.
-
I'm also looking forward to seeing his photos of my three not-so-little kittens!
-
A single drop — a courteous little drop of rain — landed on the windshield as I turned onto Amsterdam. It then rained gently — courteously, as befits a New York rain — for the first part of my journey. When I got near White Plains all hell broke loose, and for several miles one could hardly see. Then it went back to being a normal rain, but the real hell the rest of the way was other people. Everybody and their damned mother was out there trying to get home.
I'm happy you're home in one piece!
-
Home I am, and it was a great reunion. Also nice to have Michael along.
I will try to get to editing and emailing the pictures this evening. It might have to be a tomorrow morning project, but I’ll sit down at it in a bit and see how far I get. Cats were great, as always!
-
Home I am? What, now I’m Yoda?
-
I'm up, I'm up - a bit more than nine hours of really needed sleep.
-
My favorite moron from last night's video was the guy who kept telling the cop that he was filling a lawsuit in the morning (they never file anything) and putting his video on his YouTube channel. The cop asks him the name of his YouTube channel and the guy tells him, then the cop says, "Maybe I'll subscribe." I went to the guy's channel, BTW, and of course you can't leave comments. But the comments on the videos I've watched are more entertaining than the videos.
All our years living on the East Coast & in Michigan I never really got used to the summer storms.
-
Bruce do you get the Yankee Bugle?
-
If so check out page 22.
-
Saul Saladow wrote about his memories.
-
At the end he mentions you.
-
Congrats on the reunion DR Elmore and DR ChasSmith!
-
Jane, I used to but I never updated my shipping address when I moved. What did he say?
-
He shared memories about Hami, drama, mentioned Mrs. Wisham (who was that?) and Bill Gordon. He then told a story of his experience in NY when John Lennon died and lunch with Buck Henry.
-
The part of interest to you.....
-
I've got a lot of photos to download and size properly, but I fixed one up to post here first. The file size is 167KB, but the system stops me with a message I've never seen before:
"Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.
Please consult your server administrator for more information."
-
"I also remember fondly my three years at Hami and friends Ellen Bank Halio, Norman Bookstein and Bruce Kimmel, who are still part of my life after nearly 60 years"
-
I'll just make a Facebook album like DR Elmore was showing me today, and post them all there.
-
Keith read the memories and handed me the Bugle to let you know.
-
I tried saving that photo another way to post here. It's a JPG, converted from HEIC format which I only ever heard of just now, but it's what Apple saves them in in the cloud. It's now only 111 Kb in size, and I got the same message. It used to just tell us when the file was too large. I truly don't know what this message is telling us.
-
Hmmm, I wish I could help you.
-
Today I went to another tire place where they had a tire in stock, same price.
-
I left the damaged tire so they could mount the new tire on the rim and headed over to BJs
-
There I went to customer service where they cancelled the tire order and refunded my money
-
Then I. Went home and changed so I could go to the office for the surprise retirement luncheon for my former boss
-
It was very nice
-
When that was over I called the tire place and they told me to come on over
-
They fitted the tire and then asked fir payment
-
It was an extremely satisfactory experience
-
ChasSmith, I'm checking to see what the problem is.
-
Jane, don't remember a Mrs. Wisham.
-
Back from Gelson's - got a chicken Caesar and am now eating it.
-
Oh they also very neatly put the donut back away
-
Tonight we were hit with a crazy thunder storm
-
The rain came down so hard you couldn’t see out of the house windows
-
And the thunder was rattling the windows
-
But it seems it has now stopped
-
There I went to customer service where they cancelled the tire order and refunded my money
Excellent!
-
Then I. Went home and changed so I could go to the office for the surprise retirement luncheon for my former boss
Nice. Did you cry?
-
Jane, don't remember a Mrs. Wisham.
I guess she had already left.
-
Oh they also very neatly put the donut back away
Very nice. I suspect the guy you were dealing with would not have been as neat.
-
ChasSmith, you should be fine now.
-
I had some photos I'd been itching to post all day and was getting the same message as DR ChasSmith.
-
Here's one:
-
"If the eyes are rovin', you'd better get movin'."
-
FOUR, by the way.
-
Then I. Went home and changed so I could go to the office for the surprise retirement luncheon for my former boss
Nice. Did you cry?
I did not
-
We did not have a thunderstorm in San Antonio today -- yet. Seems strange. We have one most every day now.
-
The work day is done, and I am thankful for that.
-
Need to tend to a few things to assist in packing for the trip.
-
I guess I shouldn’t complain about the storm out here
Watching Amazing Grace for the first time in years. I had forgotten a lot about it, including that it was directed by Michael Apted. I remember Romola Garai was the leading lady, but the cast also has Albert Finney, Michael Gambon, Ciaran Hinds, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rufus Sewell and Toby Jones.
-
Then I. Went home and changed so I could go to the office for the surprise retirement luncheon for my former boss
Nice. Did you cry?
I did not
I probably would have.
-
Photos should work fine now.
-
So, not a soul has listened to the podcast I did. I posted the link three days ago.
-
Gratuitous post No. 10
02!
-
How long is it, bk? I might need to reserve some time over the coming weekend for that.
-
Since I'm now exercising an hour every morning, I'm feeling pressed for time in other areas of my life.
-
Sounds like DR VIXMOM has a new tire place.
I called about a battery.
-
Looking forward to the photos.
-
DR singdaw you may be right about our actors.
-
I forgot to listen to the podcast.....and I haven't finished the book yet either.
I'm not a good HHW'er.
-
Hopefully things will be better when JOSEPH is over....
-
We got a couple of thunder showers today as well.....
-
Then I. Went home and changed so I could go to the office for the surprise retirement luncheon for my former boss
Nice. Did you cry?
I did not
I am glad.
-
Since I'm now exercising an hour every morning, I'm feeling pressed for time in other areas of my life.
That happens, however, exercising is more important.
-
'night
-
I forgot to listen to the podcast.....and I haven't finished the book yet either.
I'm not a good HHW'er.
Well, it's only been two months. I'm not exactly sure how you can get any enjoyment out of reading a mystery novel over eight weeks - so, perhaps it's not worth finishing. In any case, I've given up on folks finishing it.
-
Podcast runs about an hour and forty-five minutes.
-
Thanks, bk.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Good night, Singdaw.
-
Let’s move on …
-
Five!
-
ChasSmith, you should be fine now.
Excellent, thanks! I’ll be back on that in the morning.
The podcast, too. I saw the link and was sure I’d remember to go back and get it. Famous last words.
-
Listening to Vaughan Williams' ninth - I just let the entire symphony cycle play - what a composer.
-
Indeed.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Glad to hear that Vixmom was able to resolve the tire problem satisfactorily.
In my view, it belongs to a class of problems that should not have happened in the first place. Quite a bit of my time is taken up with these.
-
Good news on the mini HHW NY reunion! So nice that people can start getting together again.
But I have to ask: what happened to Carton 10?
-
I spent the day exploring the world of rapidly shrinking customer service. There was a webinar I'd hope to attend, but the registration link wasn't working. I emailed, but never received a reply. I expect it'd been cancelled, but no one took it off the calendar. I called Nordstrom regarding a return. They sent me a pair of jeans, but failed to include the postpaid return label. The first person I spoke to had an accent I didn't recognize and I simply couldn't understand her. She couldn't understand me, either; she couldn't follow that I needed help to make the return. I hung up and tried their online chat. A slow and cumbersome process, but I eventually received the information I needed. It took 30 minutes to accomplish what could have been done in 5-10 in a decent phone call. I called an online retailer to find out why my order from several days ago hasn't shipped. They are no longer doing customer service phone calls, only emails and online chat. &$((*#$$!!! (My favorite curse words.)
I realize that Covid may have played a part as many people had to leave their jobs to care for their children, but I suspect that deliberately reducing customer service plays a larger role. An unsatisfying few hours.
-
I've been watching the 2008 production of LITTLE DORRIT. It's a delight. I love Dickens and this cast is superb.
-
Where is this podcast BK mentioned?
-
Vibes to all.
TTFN.
-
I love Little Dorrit, too. I’ll have to look for that.
-
Sorry you’ve had such appalling customer service, Jeanne. I work for a company that prides itself on great customer service, but we fail sometimes and it hurts whenever I hear of it happening, even though I personally had nothing to do with it.
-
Good night, all.
-
So, not a soul has listened to the podcast I did. I posted the link three days ago.
I downloaded the MP3 and listened to the first 35-40 minutes (which I thoroughly enjoyed!) and was going to listen to the rest at work the next day, then work got busy. I hate it when that happens! I'll definitely be able to finish listening to it tomorrow. :)
-
I'm here, but I'm also watching In the Heights (for the purpose of adding chapter breaks ;) ).
-
Looked through another box o' CDs in the garage - this one had several operas, along with three CDs I stupidly re-purchased because I couldn't find them. I HATE that. So, now I'm listening to the Chandos recording of Walton's Troilus and Cressida, conducted by Richard Hickox. The other recording I have is of the revised version with Lawrence Foster conducting. This is the original version for dramatic soprano and I gather there are all kinds of other little changes. Now, what in tarnation is a dramatic soprano?
-
Also found - Barber's Vanessa and Antony and Cleopatra. two William Schuman one-acts, Menotti's The Saint of Bleeker Street, and Rorem's Miss Julie. So, fun listening ahead.
-
Everyone has gone the way of the dodo bird.
-
I watched a great motion picture tonight.
-
From DR TCB:
Yes, thankfully, my sister reached ten months sober on June 28.
Wonderful news and VIBES she continues to stay sober.
I worry about her, if something should happen to her husband.
-
DR Vixmom I would have been so annoyed by your tire guy encounter. But OMG you made me laugh. "oh that's me".🤣
Whoa! I thought you wrote that vixmom had a gay encounter.
-
BK, I am sorry, I must have missed the post about the podcast. I will have to hunt around tomorrow and see if I can find it.
-
A really beautiful day today, weather wise.
-
Not too hot, but still very pleasant.
-
There was a story on the news tonight that a lot of this year’s clam harvest was destroyed by our heat wave. Apparently, it was so hot that a lot of the clams cooked inside their shells and the shells popped open.
Fantastic! Thanks, Bruce.
-
I'm looking forward to finishing it tomorrow.
-
And now...
-
¡¡¡¡¡¡SIX!!!!!!
-
Let us move on.
