That's pretty cool about the music, BK.  A few months ago, I was watching this cooking video on YouTube from another country that only had subtitles, but it has this really sweet music playing during the last part of the video.  The description of the YouTube listing had info about the music and a link to the site where the video cook got it.  I can't remember what the cooking video was, but I found the video site for the music and was able to download it for myself, and here it is:

This was the last night that I need to stay overnight at my mom's, even though she's probably not coming back until Thursday.  Fine with me, either way.  Today, I'm going to my friend Margo's to (finally) clean her air conditioner unit.  She'll take me out to dinner as a thank you.  That'll be fun! :D

Have a good day, all!

Sunday. Today I will attend auditions for You Can't Take It With You along with all the other misfits in the county.....

I have not received a text yet, but I am supposed to be blessed by seeing the lyrical choreography for the dance section of "Close Every Door."  I suppose I have to watch it.....  Or maybe I won't get a text and things will be all right.

On Friday I had a stamped letter on my mailbox for the post person to pick up.  But since I didn't get any mail on Friday, it remained there.  ::)

On Saturday I put it out there again.....I saw the mail truck parked in its usual spot.....but my letter was still there.  :-\

SO I sat on my porch in my rocking chair and waited for said person to walk down the other side of the street and walked over to hand it to her.

She apologized.....and I said That's Okay.   I didn't get any mail for two days.  I expect several bills will be in my mailbox on Monday. 8)

DR JANE I don't have a mail BOX - it is a long black container hanging on my house....so no flag.

I put my outgoing letters on the outside held with a chip clip....and if the front yard bush wasn't so B I G, it could be easily seen.

It's like this one.

I wish my country had a better percentage of vaccinated people.  We have a large Russian community here and they don't trust the government or vaccinations.  I had hoped their attitudes had changed after the terrible measles outbreak, mostly within their community, before covid.

Title: Re: THE KOOKY DAY
Post by: bk on July 18, 2021, 04:03:11 PM
Not here, they're not. Unless LA county is lying, which I suspect is the case and has been the case before. I'm so bored of this crap. And since all the cases that are supposedly up (from a VERY low number, so even though the percentage seems high it's only high because the numbers were so low) are ALL unvaccinated people, let them mask up and leave the rest of us the hell alone. And amusingly, as always, they never said a peep when the numbers were really low - no one did. Now, it's all they can talk about, when the news is negative. What a world.
Title: Re: THE KOOKY DAY
Post by: Jane on July 18, 2021, 04:40:12 PM
It was a pleasant surprise to read about our county numbers going down.  Maybe smaller counties are better about reporting these things.  I am also relieved as it might mean, for now anyway, masks regulations will not be reinstated.  I really don't care, except at the gym.
Title: Re: THE KOOKY DAY
Post by: Jane on July 18, 2021, 04:41:05 PM
I have seen cooling masks for sale that would likely be more comfortable for the gym, if only they came in my size.  If they did I would wear one without being asked.

I always have a mask in my back pocket in case I need it at the gym, and I have changed machines if people got too close.  For the most part, except for a few idiots, people are naturally spacing the machines for a bit of distance.

I verified he was now off the clock

Then I shared the news if the mysterious leak

As I am sure you have already surmised he was less than pleased

Title: Re: THE KOOKY DAY

He looked around and decided it must be  a leak from within the wall
Title: Re: THE KOOKY DAY
Post by: vixmom on July 18, 2021, 09:05:31 PM
So while I was downstairs he went back up and moved the refrigerator to try and access the pipes behind the cabinets

And suddenly there was another gush of water
Title: Re: THE KOOKY DAY

“Hey!” Says I , “did the line to the ice maker spring a leak?”
Title: Re: THE KOOKY DAY
Post by: vixmom on July 18, 2021, 09:06:59 PM
Well not exactly
Title: Re: THE KOOKY DAY
Post by: vixmom on July 18, 2021, 09:07:59 PM
It had actually become detached so all the water was leaking out of the bottom of the refrigerator and through the floor boards

I learned today that there are apps and websites where you can plan out your workout playlist by songs arranged by how many beats per minute they have.

Who'd a thunk it?

That's a pretty cool idea...but what is this "workout" of which you speak? ???

After I left my mom's, I came home and picked up my ratchet screwdriver and went to Margo's to clean her air conditioner unit.

I was able to take it apart pretty easily.

First, we rewatched the YouTube video that we chose (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zidmF-gvs7s&t=557s) and it seemed pretty simple.

Margo sprayed the cleaner spray onto all the parts, and then I sprayed the hose to clean off everything, then we carefully tipped over the unit to get out most of the water, then we put it in the sun to dry off.

When we were done, we went back to Margo's and it seemed pretty dry, so I reassembled the unit...except that I ended up with an extra screw! :o

Anyway, we put the air conditioner back in the window, turned it on, and it still worked!

Post by: George on July 18, 2021, 10:14:26 PM
But best of all, Margo said that it's now MUCH quieter than it used to be...we got out all the dried pine needles and stuff that rattled around inside and so now the only noise if of the unit itself. :)
