Well, you've read the notes, the notes were kooky, and now it is time for you to post until the kooky kows kome home.
-
And the word of the day is: EPOCHAL!
-
That's pretty cool about the music, BK. A few months ago, I was watching this cooking video on YouTube from another country that only had subtitles, but it has this really sweet music playing during the last part of the video. The description of the YouTube listing had info about the music and a link to the site where the video cook got it. I can't remember what the cooking video was, but I found the video site for the music and was able to download it for myself, and here it is:

This was the last night that I need to stay overnight at my mom's, even though she's probably not coming back until Thursday. Fine with me, either way. Today, I'm going to my friend Margo's to (finally) clean her air conditioner unit. She'll take me out to dinner as a thank you. That'll be fun! :D
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I've been thinking it was Saturday for the past 45 minutes. Luckily, I checked the date on the computer and discovered my mistake.
-
DR JohnG, thanks for the Robbie Fairchild link. I may be working on a show with him if all things land correctly.
-
Today I must pay the bills I did not pay yesterday aqnd get them into a mailbox so they go out first thing tomorrow. That is my principal task today.
-
Good morning, all.

Sunday. Today I will attend auditions for You Can't Take It With You along with all the other misfits in the county.....
I have not received a text yet, but I am supposed to be blessed by seeing the lyrical choreography for the dance section of "Close Every Door." I suppose I have to watch it..... Or maybe I won't get a text and things will be all right.
-
Yes. Vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
At last a day with NO rain! And next week doesn't have any precipitation in the forecast. I am all for that!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I'm off to my church gig this morning.

~~~WORK VIBES~~~ for DR elmore3003!!!!!
-
Serendipitous musical discovery - I love it when that happens!
-
Thank you for those work vibes. What I really need vibes for is selling that damned Ohio property!
-
I just listened to that Malcolm Arnold piece - gorgeous! And I never would have guessed the composer.
-
Happy Sunday to everyone! There's a new Broadway Radio Show now up on the website...it's my interview with actor/singer Robert Bannon about his debut album Unfinished Business. He's fun to chat with and his new album is just terrific....give the show a listen now!
Today would have been my mother's 98th birthday. I hope she's at peace.
-
On Friday I had a stamped letter on my mailbox for the post person to pick up. But since I didn't get any mail on Friday, it remained there. ::)
On Saturday I put it out there again.....I saw the mail truck parked in its usual spot.....but my letter was still there. :-\
SO I sat on my porch in my rocking chair and waited for said person to walk down the other side of the street and walked over to hand it to her.
She apologized.....and I said That's Okay. I didn't get any mail for two days. I expect several bills will be in my mailbox on Monday. 8)
-
Good morning, all.
-
The movie Hitchcock with Anthony Hopkins implies that Hitch basically cast Tony Perkins that way, too.
At last a day with NO rain! And next week doesn't have any precipitation in the forecast. I am all for that!
I hope that pattern is heading our way, DR Jrand70.
Just curious, did you have a flag up indicating outgoing mail was in the box?
-
It is very convenient that we have an outgoing mail drop at our mailboxes.
I've been thinking it was Saturday for the past 45 minutes. Luckily, I checked the date on the computer and discovered my mistake.
Since I stopped working I’ve been having real difficulty remembering the day, I have had to refer to my phone several times to remind myself
First thing every morning when you wake up, challenge your brain to know what day it is. I found it helpful.
-
DR JANE I don't have a mail BOX - it is a long black container hanging on my house....so no flag.
I put my outgoing letters on the outside held with a chip clip....and if the front yard bush wasn't so B I G, it could be easily seen.
It's like this one.
Well I've obviously completely forgotten how to post a photo link.
I'm done at my mom's house and my niece will come over around 1:00. I'm now heading home and will get ready to go to Margo's house to clean her air conditioner unit. Hopefully, that won't be a difficult task. ::)
-
Good afternoon!
-
Thanks for the greeting, TCB!
-
DR JohnG---I should have listed Yentl and The Way We Were to the list yesterday.
Property selling vibes for Elmore. What saint are you supposed to plant to sell a property?
Isn't it upside down St. Joseph?
-
Property selling and other vibes for DR elmore!
-
I enjoyed "Some Days Are Murder," BK!
-
It's all relative: I was messaging with my friend in Scotland earlier. She said "It's boiling here. So hot." I looked up the temperature in their area. it was 73 degrees.
-
My neighbor Ann stopped by for a nice visit. She had been to the farmer's market and brought me a bag of fresh cherries and a small blueberry pie.
-
Keep those property selling vibes coming!
Please?
Church gig this morning went pretty well. I had one fluffed entrance that the pianist covered over oh-so-discreetly.
I hate it when that happens, but thank goodness for expert players who roll with the punches.
All of that calls for some good vanilla ice cream.
Now I'm cooking.
Not with gas though. Alas, we have an electric stove.
Indeed, DR ChasSmith.
That brandy snifter looks slightly out of place in a church, but...
Let's move on.
THREE
BOX STEP PAGE TURN DANCE.
It's all the rage!
EVERYONE is doing it!
I concur
I'm up, I'm up - a little over eight hours of sleep. I didn't get to sleep until almost six in the morning.
-
I am enjoying a mini Haagen Daz vanilla bean ice cream cone.
-
Sometimes a mini cone is not enough, especially when the ice cream melted a bit on the way home from the market.
-
I am having a second min cone, though only with less ice cream this time.
-
One would have been enough if the cherries we purchased weren't a bit tart. The last ones we got were delicious.
-
Cherry tart. Hmmmm.
-
Didn't bk like a candy confection called Cherry Ripe?
-
I learned today that there are apps and websites where you can plan out your workout playlist by songs arranged by how many beats per minute they have.
Who'd a thunk it?
-
I just read that in Washington 70% of people 16 and older have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
-
I wish my country had a better percentage of vaccinated people. We have a large Russian community here and they don't trust the government or vaccinations. I had hoped their attitudes had changed after the terrible measles outbreak, mostly within their community, before covid.
-
Love Cherry Ripe. Need more of them. They have 'em on Amazon now.
-
Back from picking up a package and getting ribs from Gelson's.
-
It is possible the unvaccinated are being good about wearing masks as the number of covid cases here has been dropping.
-
Not here, they're not. Unless LA county is lying, which I suspect is the case and has been the case before. I'm so bored of this crap. And since all the cases that are supposedly up (from a VERY low number, so even though the percentage seems high it's only high because the numbers were so low) are ALL unvaccinated people, let them mask up and leave the rest of us the hell alone. And amusingly, as always, they never said a peep when the numbers were really low - no one did. Now, it's all they can talk about, when the news is negative. What a world.
-
It was a pleasant surprise to read about our county numbers going down. Maybe smaller counties are better about reporting these things. I am also relieved as it might mean, for now anyway, masks regulations will not be reinstated. I really don't care, except at the gym.
-
I have seen cooling masks for sale that would likely be more comfortable for the gym, if only they came in my size. If they did I would wear one without being asked.
-
I always have a mask in my back pocket in case I need it at the gym, and I have changed machines if people got too close. For the most part, except for a few idiots, people are naturally spacing the machines for a bit of distance.
'night
-
Good night, friends.
-
My sister came with her family. It stressed Mom out, but it was, by and large, a good day.
-
We had Chinese food. They forgot their leftovers, so I have lunch for two days.
-
We watched the America’s Got Talent rerun. There’s a fairly impressive drag queen, Scarlet Business, who combines drag, contortionism and hand balancing. Very impressive. Mom watched the episode last Tuesday and only tonight did she realize this was a man.
-
I’ve had no time to read lately. And I’ve started two good books. One is D.H. Lawrence’s The Rainbow. I got a third of the way through and want to finish it.
-
Can someone make some time for me?
-
Onward
Four!
-
Hello, 0 guests!
-
Good night, all.
-
Several hours ago I went downstairs to throw a load of laundry in the washer
-
I was baffled to find water on top of the closed lid
-
Then I looked up
-
Water was dripping from a beam in the ceiling
-
Further investigation led to behind the washroom wall where there is a 2 foot wide space to allow access to the pipes
-
There was a large puddle on the floor
-
The water was dripping down from the overhead pipes but there was no obvious point of origin
-
So I started sopping up the water from the floor and drying off the pipes
-
Then I had to remove everything from the shelf above the washer and dryer
-
Dry what could be dried and toss out what had been ruined
-
Then suddenly there was another gush of water with no obvious source
-
I went upstairs and checked under the kitchen and bathroom sinks
-
All dry
-
No water around the base of the toilet
-
No sign that anything had come from the tub
-
Then I went back downstairs and dried everything again
-
Now Vixdad was required to work today and had been in a conference during all this
-
By time I came back up he had signed off
-
I verified he was now off the clock
-
Then I shared the news if the mysterious leak
-
As I am sure you have already surmised he was less than pleased
-
Much less
-
Sooooooooooo much less
-
He looked around and decided it must be a leak from within the wall
-
So while I was downstairs he went back up and moved the refrigerator to try and access the pipes behind the cabinets
-
And suddenly there was another gush of water
-
“Hey!” Says I , “did the line to the ice maker spring a leak?”
-
Well not exactly
-
It had actually become detached so all the water was leaking out of the bottom of the refrigerator and through the floor boards
-
Fortunately Vixdad had the right tools and know how to repair the water line
-
And I went and dried everything up again
-
Hopefully for the last time
-
So that was fun
-
(Not)
-
So how was your day?
-
I learned today that there are apps and websites where you can plan out your workout playlist by songs arranged by how many beats per minute they have.
Who'd a thunk it?
That's a pretty cool idea...but what is this "workout" of which you speak? ???
Nice. Enjoy your leftovers, John.
So how was your day?
Busy. :P
After I left my mom's, I came home and picked up my ratchet screwdriver and went to Margo's to clean her air conditioner unit.
-
I was able to take it apart pretty easily.
-
First, we rewatched the YouTube video that we chose (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zidmF-gvs7s&t=557s) and it seemed pretty simple.
-
Margo sprayed the cleaner spray onto all the parts, and then I sprayed the hose to clean off everything, then we carefully tipped over the unit to get out most of the water, then we put it in the sun to dry off.
-
As a thank you, Margo bought me dinner at Applebees.
-
We had one of their 2-for-$22 dinner specials and we both got the Classic Bacon Cheeseburger meal.
-
We chatted as we ate our food, which was pretty darned good.
-
Listening to a wonderful one-act opera.
-
When we were done, we went back to Margo's and it seemed pretty dry, so I reassembled the unit...except that I ended up with an extra screw! :o
-
I don't know where it was supposed to go.
-
I thought I had put them all back correctly, but I didn't think to actually take note of where I removed them from. ::)
-
Hopefully, it's not too important. ::)
-
Anyway, we put the air conditioner back in the window, turned it on, and it still worked!
-
But best of all, Margo said that it's now MUCH quieter than it used to be...we got out all the dried pine needles and stuff that rattled around inside and so now the only noise if of the unit itself. :)
-
Then, I came home, took a nap, and now I'm here for the...
I am thinking that ” the mask on indoors” rule will be back in Washington State (vaccinated or not) within a week.
-
I think that the people who refuse to get the vaccine are going to lie about whether or not they have or haven’t.
-
Dry floors for vixmom and vixdad.
-
And thank you for stretching the story out to a couple of dozen posts.
-
I have no problem wearing a mask indoors.
-
Or outdoors for that matter.
I've been wondering about that, too, and I think I might agree with you.
I got offered a free 21-day cruise from Seattle to Ft. Lauderdale by one of the cruise line’s casino.
I turned down the offer.
No, you had to pay your own taxes and port charges; plus your air fare back from Florida.
