Well, you've read the notes, the notes were filtered, and now it is time for you to post until the filtered cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CONSTRUE!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
I have always liked the film Always
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR vixmom, I loved your photos! I wish I had been walking with you but my walker would probably be stuck somewhere in the sand.
-
My test results from my bloodwork arrived yesterday, and I will be getting hell from my doctor on Tuesday. My A1C has risen from the last test's 6.7 to 7.1, so I need to bring that down ASAP.
-
I seem to be moving easier this morning, so perhaps I am correct that the past few days were difficult because of the humidity and rain.
-
Good morning, all.

Sounds like my life.

DR JohnG, did you talk to your teacher at the reunion? How old is she now?
-
I spoke with her for 20 minutes or so. She was probably in her late 20s when she taught us, so she’d be in her 80s now. She was still feisty and funny.

Holly Hunter
Broadcast News
I like her in a lit of movies, even when I don’t like the movie.
-
Richard Dreyfuss:
What About Bob?
RED
I don’t particularly like him.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I had a case of the insomnias last night and was awake till all hours. I guess I was wired from having actually gone out and seen a show and been with people.
It's an outdoor venue, so the mingling was safe and the night could not have been more perfect for it. Warm but not hot, zero humidity, and not one mosquito came to the party. A rare evening at this place.
The beautiful weather continues today and tonight. (It's perfect sleeping weather -- high 50s, windows open, et cetera...)
-
I've had two (count 'em) cups of the joe, and I must be getting out of here shortly to run a couple of errands.
-
TOD
I've never seen Always.
But I, too, can watch Holly Hunter in anything. Broadcast News is certainly at the top of the list, and I know I'm forgetting one or two that are right up there with that. But it really doesn't matter what the movie is or how good the rest of it is. She's always 100 percent.
I think Richard Dreyfuss was wonderful in Jaws and Close Encounters, and I'm always compelled to mention Inserts which so few people know about. I remember liking him in The Competition with Amy Irving, but I literally have not seen that since the year it was released and I've always been very curious to see what I'd think of it now. Anyway, there are many many Richard Dreyfuss films I haven't seen, and I have the feeling that he lost that early charm somewhere along the way. A couple of friends attended a speaking event of his, at which he arrived late, didn't have a lot to say, and was somewhat unpleasant on top of it, wasn't signing anything, etc., and I can pretty much imagine that being more or less what you get nowadays.

Important Envelope Vibes For MR BK.

The wedding is this evening at 6:30 p.m. I shall arrive about six or so..... It should be interesting.
We have rehearsed and gone over everything.
I am sure there will be a lot of folks there wearing dress jeans - ladies AND gentlemen.....and the groom has said he has his Cornhole board in his truck so a tournament may follow the ceremony....I am sure there will be a Chicken Dance....and the first drink is on the house but after that - CASH BAR.
When it comes to weddings - we're the first hogs to the trough.

Goodbye, July!

Boy, y'all sure are, DR Jrand70! Have a great time!
And don't forget the photographic evidence.
-
Yes, very sorry to be saying goodbye to July. Especially when it just happens to be feeling like those first early days of fall. I'm not ready to give it up yet!
Seriously. WHERE IS THIS YEAR GOING?
-
I don’t know if HBO is having a free weekend, but I am able to watch Spike Lee’s wonderful film of David Byrne’s American Utopia. I saw this onstage twice in one week and loved every second of it. But I could not understand the lyrics. I can now. The staging is brilliant, the choreography spectacular.

It sounds like dress jeans will be acceptable ;)
Have fun and stay cool.

DR Vixmom I would like to take a walk along your lovely boardwalk and shoreline.

Page one?

Undone.

Two’s the place to be
-
Two for me.
-
Here’s two!
-
What about three?
-
Bruce, obviously you did not read any posts yesterday prior to posting that you were away. Had you done so you wouldn't have needed to comment about DR Laura, or at least made the comment you made.
-
I have steamed the trousers to my tails.....I was going to wear my tux - but for some reason the legs are several inches too long. I must have shrunk because they fit the last time I wore them.
I tried wearing the tails trousers with the tuxedo jacket but the fabric is slightly different. And while it isn't very noticeable I am sure that in photos - the difference would be profound.
-
I am taking a music stand in case the venue doesn't have a podium for the speaker - the bride said she "thought" they did....but this has not been confirmed.
I would rather NOT hold the book.
-
I shall probably return to Page Three or MORE.

If you were/are a fan of the late David Janssen, you will definitely enjoy my new one-person play:
DAVID JANSSEN
Aside from theatrical and television movies, Janssen starred in four television series, including THE FUGITIVE and HARRY O.
I was lucky enough to interview Janssen back in the day.
He was an affable and interesting man, who died too young.
He also had a secret that haunted him his entire life.
My play is available in both paperback and Kindle editions via Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09BGPDVY5/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1627763100&sr=1-1
Performance rights are available
Enjoy!

If you're referring to your one-line post that went, "I am sure DR Laura will return. She is fine, just dealing with house stuff." Yes, I saw it. I just didn't remember it. We all deal with stuff every day of every week of every month of every year. That's why this board is enjoyable - we talk about it. At least in my opinion.

I'm up, I'm up - over ten hours of needed and uninterrupted sleep.

Picked up two important envelopes. A third envelope contained a check - I could see that from the front clear envelope window. I excitedly opened it - over six K - I was about to do a jig when I noticed it wasn't for me or Kritzerland - but the box next to mine. Of course, I brought it back in immediately. Oh, well, it was exciting for a moment.

Um, Page Two??? Really???
-
I shall shortly be on my way to see our playlet and then have a snack.
-
Glad you are home safe, Singdaw.
-
I made it through night two of the reunion. More people there, but I spoke to fewer of them.
-
Thankfully Donna was ready to go early.
-
So I make it home to see some Olympic swimming.
-
Finke is definitely an unknown wonder.
-
Katie L. is a national treasure.
-
And Caleb D. is a force of nature.
-
And that’s my sports commentary for the year.

If not longer.
-
Well, they are posts.

Onward

Three!
-
Finally.
-
I cleared out a corner of the basement this afternoon.
-
I worked for several hours.
-
I filled the recycling bin and half of the trash can.
-
When I finished, I couldn’t tell that anything had been touched.
-
There’s that much stuff to sort through.
-
And that’s all she wrote.

Good night, all.

Gratuitous post No. 69!

~~~A1C Vibes for Larry!!~~~
-
Mine went from 5.4 (or maybe 5.6) to 6.0 at my last test, but my doctor was still very pleased. She said that having an A1c thats too low is just as bad as when it's too high. Hopefully, it'll still be in the good range the next time it's tested.
-
Oh, and I'm home. :)
-
Today, my mom made yaki udon with fried tofu and it was quite delish!
-
We played two games of Phase 10...duh. ::)
;)
-
My mom finally won one, but I forget who won the other.
-
It wasn't me...duh.
-
;D
-
After the two games, I had to leave so that could work concessions for the Washington Center for the Performing Arts at the Port of Olympia's first night of this year's Movies at the Marina (https://portolympia.com/movies-at-the-marina/).
-
This is the second year that the port has done this, and the people who come really seem to have a good time.
-
We sold quite a bit of snacks and water (and a few sodas), and I got to see some WCPA people that I haven't seen since last year, so that was fun!
-
Then I came home and here I am. :)
-
I'm going to read a chapter of my book before I go upstairs to my computer, so hopefully Tom and others will show up and post.
-
I'm 57% of the way, and am just staring chapter 17. :D
-
I have just finished chapter 18 and will stop there for now.
-
I'm going to read a chapter of my book before I go upstairs to my computer, so hopefully Tom and others will show up and post.
Well, at 11:20 pm, I doubt anyone besides me will show up.
-
I am watching the Barbra concert on Netflix. I have watched it before, and I enjoy it.
-
I didn’t care for the BACK TO BROOKLYN DVD.
-
I mean it was Barbra, what could be bad?
-
But I watched it once, and I have never had any desire to watch it again.
-
PAGE FOUR?
-
This will not do.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Where has everyone been today?
-
Oh that’s right, Laura isn’t here.
-
I love Barbra calling the restaurant for her kosher after-concert dinner.
-
That is in this concert, not Brooklyn.
-
I had a horrible night last night.
-
I was awake until dawn.
-
I had a horrible night last night.
Oh, no!
-
All my muscles were cramping and I couldn’t calm down.
-
I turned on the light and read a little bit, but that woke Buddy up again.
-
He started crying and then howling.
-
Back from seeing the playlet and then a fun meal at the Coral Cafe.
-
I suppose I should write some notes.
-
But I suspect we'll need more postings before I post them.
-
I suppose I should write some notes.
If you feel you must. ::)
;)
-
Page four is most unseemly.
-
I had eggs benedict.
-
Or they had me.
-
He started crying and then howling.
I hope you're both feeling better!!
-
Page five must be somewhere?
-
And yet it doesn't show up.
-
Page five anyone?
-
So, I hovered over him and screamed, “Shut the f**k up!”
-
Tennis anyone?
-
I gotta tell you.
-
All right, notes to be written, so you nice fellows keep on posting.
-
It worked. He shut the fuck up for almost thirty seconds.
-
You simply must.
-
It's simply done.
-
Okay, here's page five. Now let's fill this damn page up.
-
So, I hovered over him and screamed, “Shut the f**k up!”
Oh, no! :(
-
So, no more reading. No more lights.
-
I took the oxygen off.
-
Then I put it back on again.
-
Did I hear Bruce come through here?
-
Oh, hi George.
-
I am hoping for more sleep tonight.
-
I am hoping for more sleep tonight.
I hope you get it!
-
But I don’t expect to succeed.
-
I am just feeling weird.
-
Old, but weird!
-
I hear ya...I'm definitely on my way. ::)
-
I need to take my medication.
-
I took mine a little earlier.
-
Barbra just sang with Jamie Foxx.
-
Barbra just sang with Jamie Foxx.
What song? How were they together?
-
Live! CLIMB EVERY MOUNTAIN.
Live! CLIMB EVERY MOUNTAIN.
Okay. :-\
-
They sing it together on the ENCORE album. Whoops, CD.
-
Say Good Night, folks!
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Tomorrow, my sister and niece want me to come over and help put some kind of rubber tiles (like the kind you'd put under playground equipment) on top of my niece's covered thing for her chickens.
-
The reason is that the roof of this thing is made of sheets of corrugated aluminum and sits under a walnut tree.
-
When the walnuts drop and hit the metal roof, it's VERY loud and scares the chickens!
-
And it also hurts my niece's ears because of her hyperacusis. :P
-
Se, we're going to try putting these on the roof to absorb the energy and hopefully muffle the sound.
-
I would think that it'll work, but the problem is putting ALL these interlocking rubber tiles on the top of this chicken area thing.
-
It's definitely going to be a hassle, but at least we made it to the...
-
PAGE SIX DANCE!!
-
:D
-
Well, I hate to do it, but I need to get some sleep. I didn't sleep too well last night, so I'll try to sleep now.
Have a good day, all!
