Well, you've read the notes, the notes whistled while they worked, and now it is time for you to post until the whistling cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SAUDADE!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
That article about the senators was pretty funny! I'm sure that their repressed, religious views of the time were the real basis for their "opinions." ::)
-
So last night, I was trying to find out the title of a CD that Patti LuPone was on, and I eventually found it. It's called "House of Sleeping Beauties," which is electronic/sountrack-type music by Lucia Hwong, and Patti is one of the two voices (there are no lyrics). I came across THIS PODCAST (https://youtu.be/utBBVYB8gMg) where the hosts talked about this album. I then looked through their podcast website (https://www.idbuythatpodcast.com/) and they had an episode about a theatre organist named Lyn Larson (https://www.idbuythatpodcast.com/e/lyn-larsen-organ-stop-pizza-presents-larsen/)! Was that our very own (former) DR Music Guy?? Yes, it was! Pretty cool! :D
-
I downloaded both podcasts and will listen to them at work...whenever I can.
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Bad night of sleep. I was very restless. I did have a dream in which I was with several elderly ladies, now deceased, I worked with between 1973 and 1978. In this dream, Peggy, Mildred, and I were in this long cafeteria line getting either lunch or dinner.
-
I have two important calls to make today, The first is to Access-a-Ride for tomorrow's trip to 22nd Street that they botched last week. Then I need to make an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon. I hope the rest of the day goes quietly.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
My Fitbit tells me what percentage of the night I was "restless." It's kind of eerie.
-
Thanks for the CD information, DR George. I had never heard of Jennifer Nettles. But like you said, hats off to anyone releasing Broadway music these days.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Light sleep last night. Not exactly fulfilling.
-
When do you travel, DR John G.?
-
I had a dream that a paper of mine had been picked up for publication. At the same time, an older paper on No, No, Nanette had also been picked up. Because of the work involved someone else was going to shepherd the Nanette paper for me, but he tried to claim it as his own work and I had to prove it was all mine.
-
When do you travel, DR John G.?
Thursday.
-
",,,,blithering relative...." hahahaha.....real writers are so much better than people who just happen to have a computer....
-
And now yesterday we got a wonderful lesson in "how to write a song."
And they say the inner web is not educational!
-
I must go to WalMart this morning and get a cartridge for my printer.....I know I know....I should switch to a tank printer.....but this one refuses to die.
-
I shall have to consider the TOD.
-
I had all the brothers wear high top sneakers....and one of them posted this yesterday on the JOSEPH Facebook group.

-
Good morning, all.
-
This is weird. I thought our carefully planned three-day HEAT WAVE was starting today and running through Thursday. But I just looked, and now they're saying Wednesday through Friday.
Maybe I'm wrong. But I would swear (and oh, how I can, baby) that they've changed it on me. But what do I care? Right? I'm mostly indoors this week anyway.
-
I can't whistle. Never could.
-
Best of luck in dealing with Access-a-Ride, DR Elmore.
And then even better luck with the execution of the ride, itself, after whatever they promise you. I think at this point they need to set you up as a "VIP client" that the drivers do not dare screw up.
-
I'm happy to see the Indiegogo packages arriving!
BK, is mine on its way? I ask because I don't see it in queue on the USPS "informed delivery" site, but that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't out there. Lately they've just been showing those things out for delivery on a given day.
-
I can't whistle. Never could.
Can you dance a tango? Can you read Greek?
-
Onward!
-
Two!
-
I was so tired this morning that after my last post I lay down and napped for about 40 minutes. Annabelle lay down with me, then Thatch, but he was more interested in burrowing under the blankets, where he likes to hide.
-
Poor Stella! She and Annabelle spend half their waking hours lying in the bathtub, so whenever I want to bathe I need to rinse out all the cat hair. I was rinsing out the tub just now when a manic Stella zoomed into the bathroom and dived into the tub just as I throw a glass of water against the back of the tub. She zoomed right out of it.
-
DR ChasSmith, you're right: they predicted the heat wave today. I think the humidity is affecting my joints again.
-
Yeah, now it's only going to 83-85 degrees here today. I checked because it's really overcast out there this morning.
-
And yes, very humid. I was running AC last night when I wouldn't have normally, just because of the dampness.
-
Good morning
-
Yesterday we went to see Vixdad’s surgeon in the morning
-
Everything seems to be healing nicely and we go back in 6 weeks to see about getting the left hand done
-
Then we went to IHOP for lunch
-
Then we came home to check the Mail
-
And put my leftovers in the fridge
-
Remember cute little General Cupcake? I am happy to report that he was adopted! I hope his adopters are really really good to this baby.
-
I had their new cheesy bacon ranch chicken breast over whole grain rice
-
It wa good and quite big so I had half and brought the other half home
-
I had a doctors appointment at 4 so we headed back out
-
As I was slipping in my shoes(which I had left by the front door, since they were wet from the rain) I was looking out the window seeing that the rain had started once again
-
We ended up waiting almost 45 minutes in the waiting room
-
I actually dozed off, only waking when they called my name
-
When we went into the examining room my blood pressure was crazy low
-
96/73
-
I asked if that could be because I just woke up and the assist who was taking my vitals said. I needed to discuss it with the dr
-
Eventually she came in and we discussed my blood work etc
-
The doctor kept asking me things about my emotional state and memory
-
She’d ask me a question then change the subject then go back and ask me the same question again
-
And she kept glancing at my feet
-
So I finally looked at my feet
-
I was wearing slip on sandals
-
I was wearing two completely different shoes
-
One black and one light brown , completely different styles
-
Oh yeah, they were also both for the left foot
-
I started laughing like a loon
-
I’m surprised I wasn’t committed
-
But after a good laugh I suggested that she take my blood pressure again as I was now fully awake
-
And it was nice and normal
-
Then we came home, me laden with scripts for tests
-
And called RCI to arrange for a time share week exchange so the Vixter and Vixhubby could stay there in January to celebrate Vixhubbys 30th birthday
-
Then we had a nice long chat with the kids
-
Then I dozed off again
-
Today I’m supposed to get a phone call from NYS unemployment for some kind of interview
-
It’s scheduled for 11 but they told me I need to be available 2 hours prior and up to 2 hours past that time
-
They still haven’t sent me a cent
-
Jolly good story, DR vixmom. Jolly good.
-
Now, you are not going to believe this, but when you got to the part about looking down and seeing the mismatched shoes or slippers or whatever they were...
That instantly brought back a segment in a long weird dream I had last night, about which pair of shoes I should be putting on for whatever I was doing. And I was looking down at them wondering if, say, the other pair might be less wide and clunky looking. And one pair wasn't a regular shoe, but something like a slip-on thing you'd use to protect shoes from the rain.
-
Phone calls made: Access-a-Ride at 8:49 tomorrow morning and on tthe next morning, orthopedic surgeon Dr Dermksian at 9:30. I cannot pronounce his name!
-
DR vixmom, you, like DR Jrand70, never fail to make me laugh.
-
OMG, DR vixmom! I can see the doctor wondering if they had a straitjacket in your size!
-
OMG, DR vixmom! I can see the doctor wondering if they had a straitjacket in your size!
While inching her way closer to the Call For Assistance button.
-
It's Stella Claus!
-
OMG, DR vixmom! I can see the doctor wondering if they had a straitjacket in your size!
While inching her way closer to the Call For Assistance button.
Cue the Bernard Herrmann music!
-
And of course DR VIXMOM's response should have been: "I have another pair at home just like this."
-
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH......people can be dense....and illogical.
I mention for the JOSEPH Facebook Group members only that the board had voted to add JOSEPH to the 2022 season.....and of course some stupid BROTHER put it on his Facebook page....now the entire county is buzzing about the show in 2022.
Which is okay....but someone started the rumor that the tickets they had for the show this month would be GOOD for next year's show......
Please, folks.....please..... I posted an addendum to the website story that had instructions about getting a refund for tickets already purchased and added a post to the Facebook pages that NO, this year's tickets would NOT be honored for any production in 2022.....
-
DR John I liked UNBROKEN and hope your audio version is excellent.
-

That's nice.
-
Everything seems to be healing nicely and we go back in 6 weeks to see about getting the left hand done
I am glad all is good. Hmmm, I thought he only needed one had done.
-
I was wearing two completely different shoes
:))
-
Oh yeah, they were also both for the left foot
LOL, no wonder she kept asking about your memory.
-
I started laughing like a loon
:))
-
I’m surprised I wasn’t committed
;D
-
And it was nice and normal
What is normal for you? Your low only had a slightly low top number for me. 73 looked good to me.
-
And of course DR VIXMOM's response should have been: "I have another pair at home just like this."
True, but I too would have been laughing too hard to speak :)
-
Good morning.
-
JRand, if I were a ticketholder for your show, I'd be glad you cancelled.
I have tickets to Hamilton next month, and I'm not sure we'll go.
-
I painted one of my shoes brown to be a peg leg for a pirate costume (I had a woodgrain sock). The paint seeped into the fabric, so the shoe just looks dusty. The other shoe is black.
Maybe I'll get the same reaction at my medical appointment today.

-
DR Vixmom I am still smiling at your funny story. Wasn't the left shoe on your right foot uncomfortable?
-
Cuomo’s resigning.
-
Wow. So sad.
-
Endoscopy vibes for DR JANE.
-
DR LAURA I know......my county and the county where the theatre is went RED on Saturday. But the Indiana dept of Health only updates on Wednesdays....so we are still orange.
My guess is that tomorrow - we will be RED there as well.
-
Cuomo’s resigning.
I think it was inevitable, but I liked him very much.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.
-
I'll go over to storage by eleven and get that out of the way, then go see if the envelope arrived, since I can see that a little USPS package has already been delivered.
-
Cuomo’s resigning.
Y think it was inevitable, but I liked him very much.
I am so saddened about this
-
DR Vixmom I am still smiling at your funny story. Wasn't the left shoe on your right foot uncomfortable?
I didn’t even notice
-
GUILTY until proven innocent - that's our brave new world.
-
Well, in my complete stupidity, I was driving to storage and almost a third of the way there when I realized I hadn't put the key in my pocket. STUPID! So, now I'll have to go first thing tomorrow morning.
-
I'm saddened and disgusted by it because if he were a Republican, those women would be paid off and silenced, and he'd be on his way to another term without a care as to what anyone thinks.
-
ChasSmith, your package just went out yesterday - she had to find the right size box so she wouldn't have to fold anything.
-
Who wrote me about missing stills from their Indiegogo order - I found them, but can't find the post.
-
ChasSmith, your package just went out yesterday - she had to find the right size box so she wouldn't have to fold anything.
Yes, I knew that one would be a bit of a challenge. Thanks!
-
Thanks for the CD information, DR George. I had never heard of Jennifer Nettles. But like you said, hats off to anyone releasing Broadway music these days.
I just finished listening to it, and I really like it. I think she's a country singer, normally. She's got a good voice. Her interpretations aren't the original "Broadway" style, but I think they all work. And I do recommend getting the Target exclusive edition with the two bonus tracks. :)
-
Who wrote me about missing stills from their Indiegogo order - I found them, but can't find the post.
That was me, bk. It was an email. The ones with Richard Kiley and Peter Palmer. There is certainly no rush on it.
-
Cuomo’s resigning.
I think it was inevitable, but I liked him very much.
And we still have the reprehensible Abbott in office.
-
Thrilled to have the Tonight's the Night CD, Blu Ray, and songbook in hand! They sure look spiffy.
And now we know the secret of which DR became an Associate Producer!
-
I see that while Abbott is threatening to doc the salaries of any school superintendents who do anything sensible to try to stop the spread, at the same time he is trying to get neighboring states to take the excess COVID patients who have no place to go in Texas.
Elections have consequences, alright. And Texans are paying with their lives.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Loved DR vixmom's story!
-
I once wore two different shoes to work. They were both black slip-ons, but one was more of a dress shoe than the other. No one in the office said anything--I'm not sure if they noticed. When I got on the subway going home I sat in the back of the car and practically ran up the escalator when we got to my station.

Jeez, do I miss Artie's. My stomach's been queasy all day and I thought some matzoh ball soup would do the trick, and I loved Artie's matzoh ball noodle soup. So, I ordered some from Murray's Sturgeon Shop, a kosher restaurant on 92nd Street and Broadway.
-
I miss it, too! Seriously.
-
But I also greatly miss the Carnegie. And the Stage, even though I never had anything there that I thought was as good as the Carnegie's. But it is not right that these places ceased to exist.
-
Everything seems to be healing nicely and we go back in 6 weeks to see about getting the left hand done
Great news, Vixmom!
-
I do look forward to experiencing Katz's again sometime. It's been way too long.
But you know what I've really been thinking about lately, in the delis department? The L.A. ones.
-
Remember cute little General Cupcake? I am happy to report that he was adopted! I hope his adopters are really really good to this baby.

Great news, Larry!
-
That's such a great picture of the General. He's curious and ready to jump into life's adventures.
-
Endoscopy vibes for DR JANE.
Thanks. It isn't for a couple of weeks.
-

Too often I don't put the light on in the closet and end up grabbing two different colors of shoes, same style just the wrong color. Since I have to look at what I am doing to put them on, so far, I have noticed.
-
Well, Murray's matzoh ball soup, I must say, leaves Artie's in the shade. It's really delicious.

I have never had a matzoh's balls soup.
-
Vibes that the envelope arrives for MR BK.
-
yes congrats to all including AP DR freddie.
-
I have it and will bring to storage and she'll get them to you.
Thanks very much, bk!!!
-
Well our canceling got the full spread below the fold of the print edition of the paper.....you can read the article without a subscription.....but you can sort of make out the headline...here...

-
I'm really hankering for some matzoh ball soup right now. Wonder why?
-
Lucky number 139!
-
I wonder if there's any correlation between a cute name and the shelter adoption rate?
I think General Cupcake is just the cat's pajamas.
-
This book by Paul Gallico was one of my most favorite ever when I was growing up...

The only books by Paul Gallico I've read are The Love of Seven Dolls and Too Many Ghosts.

I see Gallico was a cat author.

I don't see it.

We've been enjoying a new show on PBS. Well, new to us, anyway. Professor T is about a quirky Cambridge criminology professor.

Oh my god. That menu.
-
Back from picking up two packages and the envelope.
-
Had a very good lunch meeting - whether it leads anywhere or not is not known at this time.
-
Did some banking and was rather irritated to find that the Studio City branch is once again closing at four - I just don't get it and I'm quite bored by it. I used the ATM.
-
Listening to music now.
-
Yes, I am.
-
I don't care who knows it.
-
Manhattan School of Music is staging The Drowsy Chaperone this weekend for free. They’re also doing Iron John on Monday and Tuesday. You have to have tix in advance, but they are free.
-
Went out for dinner with friends one last time before I leave. I don’t know when I will make it back to Louisville, so it was a nice sendoff.
-
Had a Caesar with chicken - very good and very light.
-
TOD
Two remakes are among the worst thrillers I have ever seen:
The Manchurian Candidate
The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3
-
I have three or four pairs of shoes that are similar (all black) but not quite a match. I have mismatched them a couple of times. I generally realize it immediately became the heights are different. But not always.

Apparently it was Belgian not Danish

I believe my brother watched the Belgian series. I will ask if he has seen the English version with Ben Miller from Death in Paradise.

We liked Death in Paradise until Ben Miller left the series.
-
I kept trying to read.
-
I could keep my eyes open long enough to read more than three sentences at a time.
-
Then Keith's phone startled me awake with a notification alert.
-
A proper nap would have been nice.
-
DR Ginny how is the basement work coming along?
-
Watching America’s Got Talent for Mom. I rarely do this, but I agree with Simon on most of his calls.
-
'night
-
Good night, DR Jane.

And good night, friends.

Who wrote me about missing stills from their Indiegogo order - I found them, but can't find the post.
That wasn't from me, but I just realized two things about my Indiegogo order. One is that while the listing for the Bells Are Ringing color stills says that there were 9, I got 10 of them. I hope that that's okay. But I also realized that I didn't get the two Rodgers and Hart vocal scores: Babes in Arms and Pal Joey.

Oh, look! It's Page 7! ;D

Barbra in on THE TONIGHT SHOW, ah tonight.
Thanks for letting us know, Tom. I had no idea and I just bought her new CD compilation a couple of days ago. :)

yes congrats to all including AP DR freddie.
Congrats for what?
For all of us who contributed to BK's Indiegogo campaign that we're now getting the perks of the campaign.
-
What a loverly bunch of coconuts - I mean, pages - haven't been this high in ages. High in number, that is, not high on the marijuana cigarettes.
-
George, drop me a line about those two scores - I'm pretty sure those are the two that I accidentally "sold" three times.
-
Why I oughta...
-
Will we get to two hundred postings?
-
I'm kind of full - perhaps I ate too much food today.
-
Hello?
-
Hello out there.
-
Why is everyone sitting there like so much fish?
-
BK, I sent you a PM. Do you want an e-mail from my Indiegogo e-mail address?
-
Gratuitous Post #200!!
-
PM is fine.
