Well, you've read the notes, the notes bubbled up, and now it is time for you to post until the bubbling up cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SKERRICK!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Well, this morning I am trying Access-a-Ride again, and I hope this third attempt to get to East 22nd Street is the charmer.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
~~~TRANSPORT VIBES~~~ for DR elmore3003!!!!!!
-
Need some help?
-
DR TCB, I was wondering what sable was too!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sablefish
-
Last night Joy Reid on MSNBC called Ron de Santis "Ron Death Santis." I hope the name sticks.
-
I've seen sable fish described as black cod. But I don't know anything about it.
-
Is Bubble-Up like a 7-Up knockoff?
-
Need some help?
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
-
Good morning, all.
-
I don’t want to get up. But I gotta.
-
I remember Bubble Up, but I don’t think I ever tried it.
-
I do remember loving Wink though.
-
I loved Bubble Up!
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE.....and his ride.
-
We have cast photos in the Rehearsal Center, but of course JOSEPH didn't have an official photo session. So I did a sort of put-together of the photos I used in the bio slide show.....it sort of works.
-
I'm watching the Jackson Five on the The Ed Sullivan Show. What is this - 1975?
-
DR JANE the front page was all blurry and you had to scroll down and it's on the right. They make it unreadable so you have to buy a subscription....but the headline was SORT OF there.
-
Well, I thought my ride was at 8:49, but when Access-a-Ride this morning called to confirm, they said 8:39, which is fine. Just now the driver called me at 8:13 to ask if I was ready! The problem is, the earlier I get there the longer my wait after the appointment. Damn!
-
At least he's not late!
-
Earworm alert: I can’t get the song Papa Loves Mambo out of my head.
-
Had to share.
-
And now a link:
https://youtu.be/ujB-BZn3C4g
-
I hope that Mama loves Mambo, too. Otherwise, she's stuck.
-
Speaking of mamas: hope yours is happy and settling in, DR John G.
-
It must be a relief to you, knowing that she'll be cared for.
-
It's another grey day here. We've had a bit of rain the last few days, which we have desperately needed.
-
Me, at the Murray's counter:
Um, I'll have one each of everything...
-
TWO!!
-
Speaking of mamas: hope yours is happy and settling in, DR John G.
She is, but things will be different when my sisters and I have left.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I'm slightly groggy from having blessed myself with a Benadryl sleep last night.
And I have just enjoyed a couple of cheap little danishes, the perfect sweet but not too sweet eye-openers.
More coffee!
-
I hope DR Elmore's Access-a-Ride went swimmingly, even if early, today.
-
I didn't know what sable was, in this context, either.
But I am wowed by that menu. I'd love to try a lox and bagel, or smoked salmon and bagel, from there sometime. Among many other things.
-
So FINALLY (like I've been looking forward to it?) we get our heat wave, starting today.
One site I've looked at is calling for 92 today, 96 tomorrow, 96 on Friday, then all the way back down to 87 on Saturday. Should be an interesting ride.
-
I remember the name Bubble-Up but not what it tastes like, but yes, obviously a 7-Up type of thing. I was never crazy about that variety of soft drinks (colas and root beers for me, thankyouverymuch), but I certainly drank whatever my folks brought home.
-
Very sorry to hear about the fate of the Sportsman's Lodge. I was always intrigued by it, but was never in it.
They also just demolished a similarly iconic structure on what had been a great little stretch of PCH in Redondo Beach. Or Torrance, actually, just over the line. No matter. The beauties of the twentieth century are being wiped out as quickly as they can get around to all of them.
EVERY city is horrible with this, but L.A. is one of the worst at preserving anything.
-
Is there ANY blues song that doesn't start with the lyric, "Woke up this mornin'..." :)
-
Wow! Today's Access-a-Ride was amazing! Let's review:
original appointment @ 10:15, scheduled pickup time 8:29
scheduled return time 11:15
Driver arrived @ 8:25, arrived at appointment 8:50
Saw doctor at 9:10
I called Access-a-Ride yo see if I could get earlier pickup at 9:37
Picked up at 10:15
It was fantastic!
-
To quote the gals from Baby, I Want it All!
-
I am relieved that you finally received some decent assistance, DR elmore3003.
Perhaps DR ChasSmith was right; they now have a mark next to your name that you'd better get damned good service.
I'd rather credit those amazing HHW Vibes! Now, about that Ohio property . . .
Of all my Indiegogo loot, I am especially excited to listen to the recording of Bernhard Herrmann's Wuthering Heights.
I looked again. Sort of doesn't work for my eyes. Oh well.
Yes. Hopefully she will make friends.
I have many, many memories of the Sportsmen’s Lodge. I did not know that the hotel was not torn down with the rest of the complex. I went to the website and see that it is currently closed due to covid. I hope it will reopen.
-
The best time we had staying at the hotel was for our 30th reunion. Lots of classmates stayed. Many were in the patio rooms around the pool. We kept running into friends during our stay.
The food wasn't very good, otherwise the reunion was great fun.
After the reunion many of us stayed in the lobby chatting and then walked down to Jerry's Deli to eat and visit more. Bruce, am I correct that it was Jerry's down the road from the Lodge?
-
Glad to hear Elmore had a successful transportation experience today
-
I hope the appointment went well too
-
I had a job interview today
-
The attorney was delayed at a closing so the two women who would be my coworkers interviewed me
-
We’ll see if the attorney calls
-
That is all
-
Back from a quick trip to Shop Rite.
Whew! Hot as fresh milk!
-
Such good news from DR ELMORE.
Vibes for DR VIXMOM.
-
Page Three.
Of course in all of the columns Miss Allison Hayes was always being seen at the Sportmen's Lodge with one gentleman or another.....
Happy to report that I've brought home my first two bottles of Sparkling Ice to try out. They're chilling as we speak.
I finally remembered to look while I was actually in the store, can you believe it? Amazing how useful a memory can be sometimes. I mean, when you take the trouble to remember to have that memory.
-
YAY for DR Elmore's successful outing! At last!
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
I'll mosey on over to storage shortly.
-
I chose the Black Cherry and Black Raspberry to try first. I see they also have a Ginger Lime, and I love both of those things so that shall be next.
I love my Alexa shopping app on my phone.
I would probably like the Black Cherry one, if I still drank bubbly drinks.
-
It's only 90 degrees here so far, but all the sites are reporting the heat index as a good ten degrees hotter. It really is intense out there. The next two days are going to be insane.
-
We headed to the gym and never made it.
-
First we stopped at the car rental place to change the billing from the insurance company, which paid up to their limit, to us.
-
Please, vibes those darn parts come in so we can get our car fixed.
-
Down the road was a Planet Fitness which is closer to home so we stopped and looked at it. I prefer the stairmaster at LA Fitness that is better for my bones, still I think we will make the switch. It isn't so much the difference in distance as the fact when the bridge to Portland is up traffic back up on our way home.
-
Shorting the drive to Planet Fitness is a little one way freeway entrance near us. You go down this little side street and under a little tunnel to get on the freeway.
-
Today there were two police cars blocking the road. We drove down to the large freeway entrance and backtracked. From there we could see a very large truck had attempted to go through the little tunnel and was stuck.
We could also see a tow truck with a crane parked next to the stuck truck.
-
By the time we returned home the truck was gone.
-
To quote the gals from Baby, I Want it All!
Are you pregnant?
-
I haven't checked lately.
-
But I do crave dill pickles.
-
~~~THOSE DARN CAR PARTS COMING IN VIBES~~~ for DR Jane and DH Keith!!!!!!!
-
The black raspberry Sparkling Ice is my favorite flavor of the ones I have tried so far.
-
But I enjoyed them all.
-
Last night Joy Reid on MSNBC called Ron de Santis "Ron Death Santis." I hope the name sticks.
Ditto!! I like Joy Reid.
-
Spicy Dills Dr singdaw?
-
Getting the darn parts vibes for DR JANE.
-
I was thinking maybe DR JANE or MR BK or DR JEANNE knew the Furiani family.
-
Hmm. Two other items purchased today: half sour pickles and French vanilla ice cream.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY is:
MR BK do you receive more residuals these days from your acting gigs or your music writing?
-
Maybe we all need to keep some at-home pregnancy tests on hand.
-
I just wish I had a reason to use one.
-
Today since I am home and I had to go to the gettin' place.....I bought a couple of Rib Eye Steaks.....about $19.
Now what I did to them will horrify DR JOHN G and the other real chefs here at HHW.....but I sprayed a nice foil pan with PAM.....seasoned my steaks with some SteakHouse rub.....threw in a dozen or so baby red potatoes.....baked it at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.....then broiled both sides for a couple of minutes....and they turned out okay....not tough....and DONE.
Made a salad with fresh lettuce, green peppers, and tomatoes from my neighbor's garden - he gave them to me....and I had a nice lunch....and will probably be eating on the meal for a couple of days....
The End.
-
Spicy Dills Dr singdaw?
No, DR Jrand70; alas, I don't have a high heat tolerance.
-
The MN Governor today has announced that all state agency workers working outside the home will be required to show proof of vaccination to retain employment.
Good, I say, and about time.
-
I hope there's more of this. If we don't, I don't see how the pandemic will ever end.

Are you hoping for a callback on this last interview?

Gratuitous post No. 100!

Went to Gelson's - I don't know what's up with the morons today, but I am at the point where if someone looks at me the wrong way they will rue the damn day. Inside the store, an old woman on an electric thing almost ran into me because they don't give a crap and just expect everyone will get out of the way in time. Then right after that, as I'm wheeling my cart towards the door, some jerk looks at me and gestures at me, like slow down. I'm wheeling the damn cart and not quickly, in fact, rather slowly. Then the topper - and this one could have resulted in real problems, which would have been my fault. We go from the Gelson's parking lot through a little Best Buy area to get to the street I take home. I'm literally going about three miles an hour because - there's a car in front of me and even if I wanted to go faster, I couldn't. But some ASS screams at the top of his lungs "SLOW DOWN!" Well, I'd had it. I slammed on my brakes, opened the car door, and was really going to get in his face about it, but unfortunately though I tried to put it in park it didn't go up and as I was getting out of the car the car was still moving forward toward the street and I could not get my footing to get the the brake - I thought I wasn't going to be able to stop it but at the last minute I finally got in and slammed on the brake, but not before the side of my car brushed up against a yellow pole. I sat for about two seconds because I really wanted to get out of the car and deck that jerk but good, but sanity prevailed and home I went. My left leg is really sore now. Thankfully, even though the yellow pole left some yellow stains on the car, they came right off and there were no dents or scratches. My nice new white tennis shoes now have a lovely black stain I haven't been able to get out, but I'll get some white shoe polish and that should do it.
-
Meanwhile, the chicken tenders I got are inedible, the hatch mac-and-cheese isn't much better - let's hope the chicken quesadillas are as good as last night.
-
How scary, bk! Glad you are OK and that your car isn't damaged.
I've given up trying to confront people about their stupidity when it involves a car. I yell to myself, in my car, but these days someone is likely to pull out a gun and try to shoot you.
-
Oh MR BK I know exactly how you feel....exactly.
-
People are simply at an all-time stupid low - whether in person or online - it's a pandemic of its own.
-
New Kritzerland releases ordered.
-
Eating the quesadillas - not as good as last night.
-
I ordered some music!
-
Heat Advisory today in my county and many others.....
Barnum seems unaffected.

Wednesday evening greetings!
HEALING VIBES FOR DR GINNY.
Thank you, DR Jane. I guess you’ve seen my Facebook post. What I now have in my left ankle is the exact same thing I had in my right ankle just before the pandemic began.
-
On the dental front, the mishap was minor. I had just chipped a bit of porcelain off a crown that can’t be seen. The crown itself is still intact, so they just smoothed out the jagged edge and sent me on my way.
-
DR Elmore, I’m so glad the transportation thing worked for you today!

Good night, friends.

This has been such a damn irritating day that I may just go to K's Donuts and do the donut thing. I only had half a quesadilla and a tiny bit of mac-and-cheese - I threw out the chicken tenders. Yes, I might just do the donut thing and I don't care who knows it.
-
And Jane has a plateau to celebrate...because!! :D
:o
Thanks.
-
'night
-
One donut eaten. No peanut butter - someone came early and bought them all. I thought those days were done, but apparently not.
-
Had a chocolate filled with whipped cream.
-
That one was small. I also have a chocolate buttermilk bar and an apple fritter. I'll only eat one and give the other to Marshall Harvey tomorrow.
-
Listening to Lohengrin. Very - LUSH. Lot of great tunes and I do love the sound on this 1964 recording with Rudolf Kempe conducting - he's a brilliant conductor.
-
It's also VERY long.
-
VERY long.
-
Longer than long.
-
Like around three-hours-and-twenty minutes long or thereabouts.
-
Congratulations to Jane on her new plateau
-
Glad to hear BKs car mishap was not any worse

I have an interview for yet another job on Friday
-
This one is about an hour drive BUT should I get them position it’s “work from home”

Tomorrow a young friend and I shall be going to see Shakespeare in the Park’s production of Merry Wives of Windsor

Hopefully we’ll not get rained out

I've JUST started act three. I gotta tell you.

We had quite the lull for a few hours.
