Well, you've read the notes, the notes found Tomorrowland, and now it is time for you to post until the found cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TOUSLE!
-
Topic of the Day: At Long Last Love is the first movie that I can think of. ;D
-
Good morning, all!
-
I had a good night of sleep, given that I was up to stretch my legs and take bathroom breaks at least four times. I tossed out Annabelle's Amazon carton yesterday so she's back to sleeping on my pillow. Stella, who's lately stopped her nocturnal visits to beg for food and pets, returned last night with a vengeance, and faithful little Thatch stayed with me until my last break at 4:00.
-
I'm dragging up 40 lbs of kitty litter this morning and then I'm doing as little as possible.
-
I do need to call Joshie. He's been away for two weeks with his family, and I want to hear about their trip.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
the final "yeeeeeeeehaaaaw"
Now there's a phrase you don't hear every day.
-
Good morning, all.
-

My first thought, too.
You can add The Wiz to that list.
-
:D :D :D
-
;D
-
Good morning, all.
-
That's excellent, DR Elmore.
-
If I had the extra dough lying around, I'd commission DR elmore3003 to score a chamber piece for exactly this combination of instruments.
-
The title would write itself.
-
Well, now I'm going to have to see if we have a copy of Tomorrowland in the house.
I know I watched it back in the day and was intrigued enough by it, but I don't remember much about it now. I don't have it, but it's possible that one of the housemates bought it.
-
Hey, it's Taco Tuesday!
-
I'm not sure this is what the Founders had in mind.
-
HA! Yesterday following the posts I wasn't sure who had the bath:
DR JOHN G
Taina Elg
or
Betsy Palmer
-
I loved TOMORROWLAND......not as much as MR BK's book THRILL RIDE - which I had a hard time not choosing when we listed potential movies from his list.
I eventually chose RED GOLD.....but GEE and THRILL RIDE were very close.....
-
I shall have to think about TOD.....
-
DR singdaw - actually our ED is going to download the sheet music and play the xylophone all by hisseff. So....go for it.
-
Good morning.
-
Another big storm last night. The roof leaked.
-
I took the trash to the basement, and to my surprise I met Amos, who's now helping our super keep the garbage situation under control, I am very happy about thst.
-
Tuesday morning greetings! Our driveway is, more or less, passable today. Good thing, since I have a routine appointment with our primary care physician and a couple of errands to do downtown.
-
DR Ginny - I'm sure the ceasing of jackhammers and other machinery is a blessed relief.
-
DR Jrand70 - good for your ED! :)
-
TWO!!
-
DR Laura - I am terribly sorry about your roof/ceiling situation.
-
DR Ginny - I'm sure the ceasing of jackhammers and other machinery is a blessed relief.
For the time being, yes, DR Singdaw. However, the porch removal was not completed to our satisfaction, so they're sending a crew to finish it and that will probably require more jackhammering.
-
Act Two blocking went okay last night.....our director is a believer in "organic blocking" which means go where you want to....and of course nobody writes anything down....so tonight it will be chaos....
BUT I wrote my stuff down....he did mention a couple of things to a few people....so we shall see what we shall see.
I am also carrying my script but I'm "off book"....so it's a lot of waiting around while folks realize it's their turn to speak.

Directional vibes. Sounds like a real traffic jam. With a ballerina thrown in.

Where are all the Vixmom posts? We were on page 6 by this time yesterday.
-
I have no stories to share.
-
I made chicken salad for lunch.
-
Birdy has been quiet today. I think he likes being home.
-
It’s becoming August here. Temps expected near 100 by the end of the week.
-
I have to stop watching JOSEPH videos. It makes me too sad....tonight should have been the start of our second week.
-
the final "yeeeeeeeehaaaaw"
Now there's a phrase you don't hear every day.
Unless, of course, you work at the Texas Roadhouse, in which case I suspect you hear it much too often every day
-
Hey, it's Taco Tuesday!
:o
-
Another big storm last night. The roof leaked.
Sure, NOW you get rain….
Sorry Laura
Vibes for a speedy fix

I’m resting
-
I have to stop watching JOSEPH videos. It makes me too sad....tonight should have been the start of our second week.
Sorry Jack, it really must be depressing after all your work and planning
-
I am currently enjoying some rewarded pork egg foo young for my late lunch
-
Rewarmed
-
Not rewarded
-
Although my tummy is feeling rewarded
-
I have an appointment with my dentist at 5:15 to determine if my jaw is ready to accept implants
-
I never answered the fast food TOD
-
I haven’t had fast food fir about 2 years now
-
But Five Guys and Taco Bell were pretty much my go to
-
When the Vixter was small we used to go to McD’s every week so she could get whatever the kids meal toy was
-
Except for the Burger King Pokémon run when we switched there instead
-
But I can’t remember the last time I went to a McD
-
And it’s probably 2 or 3 years since I had Burger King
-
From DR Vixmom:
And Vixfriend , realizing it was my birthday did the loudest longest Texas Roadhouse birthday shoutout , the whole restaurant was watching by tine for the final “yeeeeeeehaaaaw”
Everyone was laughing and clapping so that was fun
Awww, how fun and special :)
-
I shall have to think about today’s TOD
-
DR Jeanne, thank you for explaining the "mercury" in the eye drops. I did not find a good exclamation online, only that the drops didn't contain enough mercury to be harmful.
I figured you had a better understanding of the ingredients.
-
Jeanne I am not a fan of large pills and avoid them when possible. I will try the Natural Ophthalmics Women's Tear Stimulation pellets. Thank you for the suggestion.
-

Rest some more.

For Taco Tuesday I ordered from my favorite Mexican place, but the food arrived cold. I am not happy.
-
Just before the food arrived, I dropped a can of A&W Root Beer, It exploded and sprayed root beer all over my kitchen. This has been a lousy afternoon.
-
Birdy has been quiet today. I think he likes being home.
Plus there was a lot going on at your mother's.
-
It’s becoming August here. Temps expected near 100 by the end of the week.
As of today our temps have cooled down, a bit too much for me.

What a sticky mess. Hope it was easy to clean up.

Is there a root beer-flavored sparkling water?
-
DR Laura I hope there were people at your home today working on the leak.

I know we saw it. Keith vaguely remembers it and even the trailer didn't jog my memory.

I got most of it, but I suspect I will touch a sticky spot in the next few days that will need washing. My glasses need to be washed, but the floor is mopped and dry, and I need a bath to wash off my legs and left arm.
-
Tonight we are going to watch TOMORROWLAND.

I took the trash to the basement, and to my surprise I met Amos, who's now helping our super keep the garbage situation under control, I am very happy about thst.

Oh, no!! :o

Twice at work (fortunately, in different years), I dropped unopened cans of diet Pepsi that punctured and SPRAYED everywhere! Talk about embarrasing! ::)

If I hadn't been out at 8:00 this morning I wouldn't have cared-lol

I still prefer summer to be more than 64 degrees out.

I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep.

Especially the second time ;) ;D

I just received a very nice call from our medical insurance company. Instead of wanting something from me I was informed I was close to using up my allotted coverage and entering a higher pay amount from me. It is called a coverage gap or donut hole.
She also offered to do something that might reduce my copay on an expensive prescription next year.

Good afternoon!

I'm glad to hear that DR vixmom had a nice birthday.
-
Sorry about your roof leaking, DR Laura. We've had rain and thunderstorms the last few evenings/nights.
-
They are sending out a roofer. They are paying him, so I'm afraid he'll give them an answer they want to hear.

Well, the orchestration job for the Philly Pops just landed. I have a week to do it for their Sept. 16 Gala.
-
I got my bath. I am no longer sticky and icky.

Jaw vibes to Vixmom.
-
Good news from Larry about the orchestration work.

Hugs to Jrand.

I had a consultation with the dentist today. Something looked suspicious on the x-rays we did recently and yes, there is now some dental work in my future.

Once home I tackled some phone calls I'd been dreading. Next week I'm scheduled for a procedure on my wonky eye and a Covid test is required 3 days in advance. i have absolutely no objection to having the test, but the scheduler, who has difficulty being pleasant, kept insisting that the test had to be done at a certain site, which is most inconvenient for me. There are Covid test sites all over these days; can I not go to one close by? Today I called the surgery center who, I was told, created this edict. I spoke to a very helpful nurse who told me exactly the opposite: the test can be taken anywhere. We went over other details, none of which the scheduler mentioned -- or, I suspect even knew. I'm very relieved, but also ANNOYED at being given incorrect information repeatedly.
-
I then called my primary care physician's office about having the test done there. The person I spoke to, who handles Covid questions, didn't even know what a PCR test was. She thought it was a blood test. Sigh. Then she said she'd have to talk to my doctor. My doctor is on vacation and out of the country. Then she said she needed a referral. At that point I hung up and started calling other places that do Covid testing.
-
Many pharmacies offer free Covid testing, but, from what I gather, cannot guarantee that you'll get the results quickly. Up to 7 days is what they often say. I need to be tested on Monday in order to have the procedure on the following Thursday. A number of places do this, but for a fee. After a few more calls I found a pharmacy that can guarantee results for $85. If I keep at it I might be able to get it done without a co-pay, but I've been given incorrect information so many times by Cedars that I simply don't trust them. I also now see why the inconvenient location was "recommended" -- they were deemed reliable.

Annoying but it might be best to go there. I am lucky my covid test is in the same building I will have my endoscopy, and it is conveniently located. The important thing is to get it someplace that will do it quickly, and the practice doing the procedure can access the test results.

WONKY EYE PROCEDURE VIBES FOR DR JEANNE!
-
The irony of all of this is it wasn't the surgical procedure that was the hang-up -- it was the Covid test, which should be a simple thing. I witnessed the same thing in computer science: we could do the difficult work. It was the admin where things went haywire.

I understand they want the results ahead of time, in case you're positive and they have to reschedule. And of course they want them to be reliable, so why not just take control of that themselves? Administering the test and doing the lab work doesn't appear to be difficult!

Vibes to all.

Happy Birthday DR Vixmom. I'm so sorry about your fall. I would totally call the CEO. That's ridiculous. HE said that you were hired. You made it clear that you would not commute. He should talk to the supervisor.
-
Last Friday I got stung by a bee/wasp. I went to pick up some apples that fell from a tree. And the bee/wasp must have been on the back side. I have never gotten stung before. And OMG did it hurt. It was on my right hand. It was so painful for 5 hours.

:o
That is just crazy. I am feeling very lucky I was referred to a specialist in the building that is like a medical mall. Everything is right there, including the outpatient surgery, and my covid test appointment was easy to get.

This was the first time you have ever been stung :o :o :o
Are you still swollen? I can swell for a couple of days before it stops.
-
DR Vixmom I just read the end of the CEO drama. Did the supervisor force his hand? I really don't understand. He said that it would be fine. And then somehow it's not. I can't believe that they wasted your time.

Christina Alexander Named WICKED's Director of Social Responsibility
Does anyone have an idea of what that means?

Keith's cousin made plans today to visit us next month. She said for us to make dinner reservations, outside of course. Outside, to me, makes sense in Los Angeles, not so much here yet. I would have made them inside ;D
I just hope things haven't gotten worse by the time they arrive.

Well, the orchestration job for the Philly Pops just landed. I have a week to do it for their Sept. 16 Gala.

Started reading The Six, a biography of the Mitford Sisters. Nancy Mitford was a novelist of light and fabulous fiction, one sister was a Nazi, another was a communist. You couldn’t make this all up.
-
I can’t keep all of the sisters straight yet, but I loved the two Nancy Mitford novels I’ve read.
-
The roofer said the installation of the unit was totally messed up. They need to lift up the unit and redo the installation. I was afraid of that. He said he's happy to be the bad guy to relay that information.
I would think head will roll at that place at that news.
-
Another storm expected tonight. We were advised to get our buckets ready.
-
He thought this problem started with last night's storm. He was pretty shocked to find out that this has been going on almost a month now.
-
I am sorry, DR Laura. At least now you have confirmation of the problem. Doesn't make it any easier until it's fixed, however.
-
Good job news from DR elmore3003.

Right now, Theater Artists Olympia is having a Zoom read-through of The Head! That Wouldn't Die!!! ;D
-
I'm just watching and listening.
-
There have been a few changes in the script since we last did it, about four years ago.
-
They're just talking through the song lyrics, so there's no issue of music and singers not matching tempos.
-
Well, act one went well...as well as a read-through can go.
-
I think it's going to be good...again!
-
Now, on to act two!
-
TCB, just more woke BS.
-
Jane, the Women's Tear Stimulation may take several hours. If you need relief immediately, use eye drops. Take the WTS so you won't need to use drops so often in the future. Natural Ophthalmics also has a product called Total Ocular Function that they recommend using along with their other products. TOF is sprayed in your mouth -- very easy --and I've found it to be effective. They feel that gastric acids deplete the eye vitamins and that an oral spray is a better delivery method.
I order from PureFormulas.com and have been happy with them. They're in Miami, but I get 2-day shipping free.
I hope you find something that helps you.
-
And speaking of woke, I'd like to be unwoke very shortly.
Good night.
-
The read-through went well.
-
It was really just for pug to hear the script with the few changes that she made.
-
A couple of other suggestions were made by cast members right afterward and one pug liked, and the other she said that it was heading in the right direction (I forget what it was about), but she wanted the actress to e-mail her with a more thought-out thought.
