I had a good night of sleep, given that I was up to stretch my legs and take bathroom breaks at least four times. I tossed out Annabelle's Amazon carton yesterday so she's back to sleeping on my pillow. Stella, who's lately stopped her nocturnal visits to beg for food and pets, returned last night with a vengeance, and faithful little Thatch stayed with me until my last break at 4:00.

I loved TOMORROWLAND......not as much as MR BK's book THRILL RIDE - which I had a hard time not choosing when we listed potential movies from his list.

I eventually chose RED GOLD.....but GEE and THRILL RIDE were very close.....

For the time being, yes, DR Singdaw.  However, the porch removal was not completed to our satisfaction, so they're sending a crew to finish it and that will probably require more jackhammering.

Act Two blocking went okay last night.....our director is a believer in "organic blocking" which means go where you want to....and of course nobody writes anything down....so tonight it will be chaos....

BUT I wrote my stuff down....he did mention a couple of things to a few people....so we shall see what we shall see.

I am also carrying my script but I'm "off book"....so it's a lot of waiting around while folks realize it's their turn to speak.

I just received a very nice call from our medical insurance company.  Instead of wanting something from me I was informed I was close to using up my allotted coverage and entering a higher pay amount from me.  It is called a coverage gap or donut hole.

She also offered to do something that might reduce my copay on an expensive prescription next year.

Once home I tackled some phone calls I'd been dreading. Next week I'm scheduled for a procedure on my wonky eye and a Covid test is required 3 days in advance. i have absolutely no objection to having the test, but the scheduler, who has difficulty being pleasant, kept insisting that the test had to be done at a certain site, which is most inconvenient for me. There are Covid test sites all over these days; can I not go to one close by? Today I called the surgery center who, I was told, created this edict. I spoke to a very helpful nurse who told me exactly the opposite: the test can be taken anywhere. We went over other details, none of which the scheduler mentioned -- or, I suspect even knew. I'm very relieved, but also  ANNOYED at being given incorrect information repeatedly.

I then called my primary care physician's office about having the test done there. The person I spoke to, who handles Covid questions, didn't even know what a PCR test was. She thought it was a blood test. Sigh. Then she said she'd have to talk to my doctor. My doctor is on vacation and out of the country. Then she said she needed a referral. At that point I hung up and started calling other places that do Covid testing.

Many pharmacies offer free Covid testing, but, from what I gather, cannot guarantee that you'll get the results quickly. Up to 7 days is what they often say. I need to be tested on Monday in order to have the procedure on the following Thursday. A number of places do this, but for a fee. After a few more calls I found a pharmacy that can guarantee results for $85. If I keep at it I might be able to get it done without a co-pay, but I've been given incorrect information so many times by Cedars that I simply don't trust them. I also now see why the inconvenient location was "recommended" -- they were deemed reliable.

I had a consultation with the dentist today. Something looked suspicious on the x-rays we did recently and yes, there is now some dental work in my future.

I am sorry.

Annoying but it might be best to go there.  I am lucky my covid test is in the same building I will have my endoscopy, and it is conveniently located.  The important thing is to get it someplace that will do it quickly, and the practice doing the procedure can access the test results.

WONKY EYE PROCEDURE VIBES FOR DR JEANNE!

The irony of all of this is it wasn't the surgical procedure that was the hang-up -- it was the Covid test, which should be a simple thing. I witnessed the same thing in computer science: we could do the difficult work. It was the admin where things went haywire.

I understand they want the results ahead of time, in case you're positive and they have to reschedule. And of course they want them to be reliable, so why not just take control of that themselves? Administering the test and doing the lab work doesn't appear to be difficult!

Happy Birthday DR Vixmom. I'm so sorry about your fall. I would totally call the CEO. That's ridiculous. HE said that you were hired. You made it clear that you would not commute. He should talk to the supervisor.

Last Friday I got stung by a bee/wasp. I went to pick up some apples that fell from a tree. And the bee/wasp must have been on the back side. I have never gotten stung before. And OMG did it hurt. It was on my right hand. It was so painful for 5 hours.

 :o

That is just crazy.  I am feeling very lucky I was referred to a specialist in the building that is like a medical mall.  Everything is right there, including the outpatient surgery, and my covid test appointment was easy to get.

Are you still swollen?  I can swell for a couple of days before it stops.

DR Vixmom I just read the end of the CEO drama. Did the supervisor force his hand? I really don't understand. He said that it would be fine. And then somehow it's not. I can't believe that they wasted your time.

Keith's cousin made plans today to visit us next month.  She said for us to make dinner reservations, outside of course.  Outside, to me, makes sense in Los Angeles, not so much here yet.  I would have made them inside ;D

I just hope things haven't gotten worse by the time they arrive.

Started reading The Six, a biography of the Mitford Sisters. Nancy Mitford was a novelist of light and fabulous fiction, one sister was a Nazi, another was a communist. You couldn’t make this all up.

The roofer said the installation of the unit was totally messed up. They need to lift up the unit and redo the installation. I was afraid of that. He said he's happy to be the bad guy to relay that information.

I would think head will roll at that place at that news.

Jane, the Women's Tear Stimulation may take several hours. If you need relief immediately, use eye drops. Take the WTS so you won't need to use drops so often in the future. Natural Ophthalmics also has a product called Total Ocular Function that they recommend using along with their other products. TOF is sprayed in your mouth -- very easy --and I've found it to be effective. They feel that gastric acids deplete the eye vitamins and that an oral spray is a better delivery method.

I order from PureFormulas.com and have been happy with them. They're in Miami, but I get 2-day shipping free.

I hope you find something that helps you.

A couple of other suggestions were made by cast members right afterward and one pug liked, and the other she said that it was heading in the right direction (I forget what it was about), but she wanted the actress to e-mail her with a more thought-out thought.
