Well, you've read the notes, the notes had strings attached, and now it is time for you to post until the attached cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CONSILIENCE!
-
Yes, I got a copy.
-
Yes, I got a copy.
Whew! Anyway, the film was just finished because the original director had recently died. But I didn't realize that he had started to make part 2 so long ago.
-
I am talking about the original part, but I see that you can watch it on YouTube.
-
Topic of the Day: the first two that instantly came to mind were E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial and Bugsy Malone...the Blu-ray for which I just got a couple of days ago!
-
I am talking about the original part, but I see that you can watch it on YouTube.
Oh, that makes more sense. :)
-
And now, I must go to sleep. I need to get to work a bit earlier than normal, so I'm off to bed now.
Have a good day, all!

That's understandable, DR vixmom.

Good morning, friends.
-
Thanks for the video links last night, DR George.

Overnight I had a dream that I was at a publishing house that was reviewing DR elmore3003's manuscript. So there's hope yet.

I sure hope so. I have received no rejections since Sept. 16, so maybe that's a good sign?

I usually feed the cats between 6:00 and 6:15, but this morning they ate at 5:50 and the laundry was in the washers by 6:15.
-
Once the laundry is finished and brought up, I;ll have a lie-down for a bit, then put it away.

Well, I just came back into the apartment to hear the death rattle of one of my fans. That's an expense I do not need at the moment.

Annabelle says that any place she hangs her hat is home.
-
Thursday morning greetings! Waiting for the porch guys, who will have to bundle up today. I’m afraid, by the time they’re finished, it’ll be too cold to sit on our new patio.
-
We are in for rain and the humidity is high so every trip out of the apartment is like walking through soup. Happily the wash is in the dryers so myh next trip out of the apartment is my last one today.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Just heard from a friend that his wife had a stroke. Cognitively, she’s fine. But her speech and BP are not.

Good morning, all.

BK, the Juilliard was later on RCA Living Stereo, and that set is available. But there are even more sets out there. They are a veritable gold mine.

Wow. Rain here. Today and into tomorrow. Who'd a thunk it?

Yep. Same here.
The nice thing is that right now there are some lovely cool-ish balmy breezes to go along with it, so that will be enjoyable for a while. I'm sure that later we'll have to turn on some A/C to dehumidify the jernt.

Lovely cool weather here today....so far.

Yes DR JANE - he has given me several anecdotes, etc. that he would like to have included.
I think once I get started, I'll be okay....but I've started a couple of different ways and I don't like it....so we'll try again.

Porch work has resumed and I heard one of the workers say he likes the cooler weather and that it could be like this all the time as far as he’s concerned. I agree with him.
-
I'm looking at this plasticized card I got in the mail yesterday from GoodRx. Perhaps I have been in the dark, but I hadn't heard of them. Supposedly it's a free service, and you show the card when you're picking up a prescription. Wait, it says "at drop-off". Hmmm. Anyway, it price-compares, even against Medicare prices, and you get to pay whatever the lowest amount is. Anyone know anything about it? Scam?

I definitely agree, when it comes to me doing anything like outdoors work. Absolutely.

I googled. Long story short -- it looks to be legit, but you may have trouble with pharmacies not wanting to accept it because they're the ones who stand to lose money on the deal.

From George:
I got the Johnson & Johnson. I wonder when I'll be able to get a booster, if at all
J&J’s booster was approved yesterday.
-
Last night we watched the first half of Thoroughly Modern Millie, which does go on too long, but I do love the cast, costumes and sets, Joe Layton's work, and everything un-PC about the screenplay. It does try too hard at times to be camp, which is something Sandy Wilson's wonderful The Boy Friend never does. The Ken Russell film, which I love, is a wholly different animal.

A couple of years ago I received a card. After several failed attempts (the pharmacy was very helpful), I trashed the card.
-
It is suppose to save you money but the cost of my prescriptions never improved.

I got the Johnson & Johnson. I wonder when I'll be able to get a booster, if at all

I didn't see that but am not surprised.

DR George, I expect you qualify for an early booster.

I thought that might have been the article.
-
I think that today is 3 months since I had my 2nd vaccination.
Today is amazingly warm outside. 85F. But I think it's the last warm day.
-
Since you had a longer time period between your two vaccinations you might not need a booster.
-
Had a nice two-hour rehearsal.
-
Picked up some packages and one of the two important envelopes.
-
Back from a dinner with friends. Had a lousy burger topped with guacamole. It looked nothing like the appetizing photo they had of it.

Let’s move on ….

I’ve been seeing commercials for it featuring Martin Sheen, but I have no idea how it works

From George:
I got the Johnson & Johnson. I wonder when I'll be able to get a booster, if at all
J&J’s booster was approved yesterday.
I had the Pfizer, I should be eligible for a booster mid October, I’m 10 months too young but considered high risk due to the thyroidectomy, heart issues and past cancer diagnosis.
I haven’t decided yet if I will get it, I have to see what my oncologist thinks when I see him in October

Gratuitous post No. 100!
-
I wish I had some wisdom to impart.
-
But alas,
-
I do not.
-
Tomorrow I have the day off from work.
-
I was supposed to be going to the immersive Van Gogh exhibit.

But I have decided I'm not willing to risk it.

I will still enjoy my day off.

I’m not eligible until mid October, it has to be at least 6 months out from your second shot and I already have my annual appointment scheduled for mid October

Finished with my viewing and listening to string quartets.
-
Earlier, for food I had two slices of pepperoni pizza from Wolfgang Puck's at Gelson's, just to see if I liked it better than the first time I had it twenty years ago - but, alas, there's some spice thing they use that just doesn't do the slice any favors. Later I had a small chicken Caesar.
-
I got the Saul and David opera in English on Unicorn conducted by Horenstein but am returning it. Unicorn CDs were and are notorious for "bronzing" and it won't play in any device. I've lucked out with my Unicorn CDs - none have bronzed - but this one was really BRONZE.
-
Tomorrow I have the day off from work.
I envy you. But I will have a few days off next week. It’s just taking too long to get here.
-
Finished with the Orwell. Now diving into Megan Abbott’s The Turnout, about two sisters who run a ballet studio as they’re preparing to stage The Nutcracker. Reviews had been good, but I am finding it a bit of a slog, cliched and predictable.

But first …

Looking forward to more about lunch with Cindy.

Good night, all.
Good night, John. If you see it, I sent you a PM.
-
You'll see it...eventually. ;)
-
I have to say that after the later Schoenberg quartets and the Webern and the Berg and Kirchner and Imbrie (I kind of enjoyed the latter two), which are all atonal, it's kind of a fun relief to suddenly get the disc of Mozart quartets :)

Tomorrow, I'm leaving work early so that I can drive my friend Margo's sister to the airport.
-
Margo had some minor surgery on Tuesday and doesn't feel up to driving, so I'll take her up to the SeaTac airport.
-
Then, I'll come back and Margo and I will actually go see Dear Evan Hansen in a movie theater.
