Title: STRANGLING A WILDEBEEST
Post by: bk on October 10, 2021, 12:37:09 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes were especially irritating to the wildebeest, and now it is time for you to post until the strangled cows come home.

Good luck with getting the CD out, BK.  Things like that have happened to me and usually I can just unplug the device and plug it back in.  As soon as it's plugged back in, I hit the eject button and that not every single time, but more often than not, gets the device to eject.

And while ketchuping on yesterday's notes, I realized that Larry has reached a milestone!  He's slightly past that, but it deserves to be celebrated! ;D

Today, I'm going to go candy shopping...not for Halloween, though.  One of my and my sister's two aunts who live in California is having a birthday next month, and we like to send both of them their favorite candies so that they can celebrate together.  I'll go to both the Tumwater and Lacye CHEF’STORE (https://www.usfoods.com/why-us-foods/chef-store.html) (formerly Cash & Carry) stores (if necessary) to see what they have, and maybe Costco, but I also have some Bit·O·Honey (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001PMGB28/) in my Amazon shopping card, just in case no one locally has some.  I had to order it online last year because I couldn't find any in the stores here.

I received this shitty news via an automatic phone call at 8:00, so I have no further information as to why or how to proceed. I sent my regular caretaker a message but there will be no response before tomorrow at the earliest. So tomorrow I also have to deal with myh urologist and the Lenox Hill Radiology Dept. At the moment I'm seriously considering slitting my wrists in the tub.

Cat vomit.  Oy.

The ones from Poe we used to discover in our bare feet were the nearly invisible spots that he'd invariably leave on the tile floor, which you'd step in and nearly go sliding first thing in the morning when all you wanted to accomplish was navigating your way to the kitchen for a much needed cup of coffee.

Well, my day of fatigue has passed following a pretty solid night of sleep. At least I knew what to expect from the booster shot, which was pretty much what shot #2 back in March had left me with -- just a complete lack of energy the next day. I did accomplish a pretty good afternoon on the couch watching movies, a completely random selection consisting of:

The Day the Earth Caught Fire (1961)
The Woman Who Came Back (1945)
It! The Terror from Beyond Space (1958)

Hello one and all....Happy Sunday!  There's a new Broadway Radio Show posted for your listening enjoyment.  This is another At The Theatre episodes where we chart the history of a great Broadway theatre and all the musicals that have played there.  This time it's the Nederlander Theatre, which just so happens to be celebrating it's 100th anniversary this year.  We'll here performances from all the way back in 1927 right up to the most recent musical tenant to play there, Pretty Woman and a whole lot of fun in between...give it a listen!

Today, it's for a touring production of The Price Is Right. They basically do the show but without prizes. Hundreds of people are willfully paying $100 in order to have their picture taken by the wheel. They don't get to spin it, mind you. They just get to stand there.

It's outrageous news -- especially given its time and method of delivery. Even though it will SURELY be worked out once all the parties are involved tomorrow. Right? it's an outrage that one has to continually deal with this utter madness.

Back from a good work-through of the singer's show - made a few patter additions, removed some patter, figured out the underscoring, and finally decided to change one song to another - the one she was doing was just too long and not really landing at all.

I get a few days off ushering. The next is Loudon Wainwrite III.

Nice.  Rufus has performed at the Washington Center.  His sister was his opening act.  She was pretty good, too.

The next thing that I'm ushering for is a Neil Diamond Musical Tribute as a fund raiser for the Olympia Union Gospel Mission (https://ougm.org/).

I think more people are these days, at least now that Sweet Caroline is a drinking song.

Stayed about ninety minutes at the party - it was nice. Had two slices of pizza from Dino's. On the way home, I stopped at Gelson's as two slices isn't enough food for an entire day, so got a little soup and a little spaghetti with red sauce. Came home and ate them and now trying to relax because I've just about had it with a day that should have been a heck of a lot nicer than it was.

I used to love scary movies.

I loved them all.  From the classics to the new additions.

But sometime ago, at least ten years, I stopped watching them entirely.

Now I would rather sit through a Shirley Temple marathon, than five minutes of the latest HALLOWEEN film.

I've never really been interested in horror movies...and certainly not slasher movies.
