Well, you've read the notes, the notes met both JBs, and now it is time for you to post until the JB cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SHIVAREE!
-
That's pretty crappy about what happened to Kerry O'Malley and her show partner! Damn them! Damn them all to hell!! >:(
-
Good morning, all!
-
Annabelle is not eating this morning, and so I'm a bit worried about her.
-
Last night was not as cold as the night before. I slept well, but I had very annoying dreams. All I remember of them is failing to find an easy exit from the airport to the parking lot and in another driving a car from my brother Randy's house, hetting hit with a terrible rainfall, and crashing into the flower bed of some house.
-
I have no plans for today, but that's nothing new.
-
DR George, thank you for burning the requested CDs. You are such an agreeable soul and you never get enough praise for being such a mensch. You are truly one of the best.
-
I have only seen one Bond film since Connery gave up the role, and that was Danel Craig's Casino Royale. I thought he had the sex appeal and ruthlessness the role required, but I thought the effects were so over-the-top and the fighting so unbelievable that I never cared about seeing another.
I like BK's voyage through the Connery films in sequence, and I think I might do the same. Goldfinger remains for the the absolute best.

Yesterday, Holly Riddick from the Philadelphia shelter posted this photo and comment:
Yesterday I watched this happy little dog get walked back to the E-room- that’s what we call the room where the dogs get euthanized when the shelter runs out of space.
There was nothing wrong with Tracy-she wasn’t sick. ACCT was just full and had no room left.
She got so much love yesterday from other volunteers. Lots of treats and play time. Thanks to them she had a great last day. A small consolation. I had just stopped by her kennel to give her one more treat and tell her what a good girl she was when I saw the tech coming to get her. They leashed her and she hopped out of her kennel, tail wagging. I watched her walk down the long hallway, prancing all the way, happily looking up at the person walking her. I wonder where she thought she was going. I wonder if she was scared when she got in the room. I wonder if she knows how hard people tried to get her out of there. I hope they were kind to her in her last moments. I hope it was peaceful.
Run free, pretty girl 💔
When will this imhumanity stop?

This made Annabelle laugh!
-
Thank you DR TCB.
-
Good morning!
-
Good morning, all.

Oh, that is good. If I were willing to put a few friendships on the skids, there are several people I’d send it to today.
-

I have always found this to be the case. :)
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Isn't DR John G.'s bird also named JB?
-
Around eleven or twelve years ago I decided it was time to satisfy my curiosity about the Ian Fleming books AND the several Bond movies I hadn’t seen. I read every one of the books in the order they were written. That was really an eye opener, and most enjoyable. Then I watched every one of the films, strictly in the order that they were produced — so in both cases, I was following the arc of their development. Even given the low points in the films themselves, it was an amazing journey, and one I would happily repeat, even if I didn’t follow that same method next time. Bond is a phenomenon.
-
Good morning, all.
-
JB likes JB.
-
Just drove through rush hour traffic to get to a doctor’s appointment. Not fun.
-
My favorite Bond is Diana Rigg, Mrs. Bond.
-
The price of gas this week at Costco and BJs:
Monday $3.22
Tuesday $3.25
Wednesday $3.29
Do you detect a pattern here?
-
Let us not even think about what it must be in BK’s neck of the woods.
-
Thursday morning greetings! We had our first company walk up our new front steps yesterday. Mary Linda is in Cincinnati on business this week and she came for dinner.

That's nice.

Oh my! Did you have an orchestra playing Pomp and Circumstance?
-
Great notes!
Yes I loved THE LONG, LONG TRAILER which we saw at the drive-in on a double bill with FORBIDDEN PLANET!
I am also appreciating Lucy's supporting role in EASY TO WED in which she plays the Jean Harlow role in this remake of LIBELED LADY.
She's very funny.....of course Van Johnson is no William Powell and Keenan Wynn is no Spencer Tracy......and Esther Williams is definitely no Myrna Loy.....
-
TOD:
Goldfinger
Daniel Craig's first James Bond - was that SKYFALL?
I really hated his second or third one which was all about his family and his heritage and M mixed up in some fal-de-rol - terrible. I haven't seen the latest one yet - if it's been released.
-
Page Two:
IF you have Comcast and have subscribed to HBO & TCB - you can also look up EPIX and/or SCREENPIX in the Premium lineup. It might be SCREENPIX, but one of them has most if not ALL of the Connery BOND movies available this month.
-
DR ELMORE posted something that was very funny and something that was very sad.....
-
I love this shot of James Bowen and the late Bob the Street Cat.

LOL! No, DR ChasSmith, it was actually pretty unceremonious. She used her own key to let herself in and called out, "Hello!" like she used to when she and Rob lived upstairs. Richard and I were both in the back of the house, as usual.

So, basically you’re saying no, no, no, yes?
-
And if, by "yes," you meant Nanette, then it would be "no no nanette."
-
I am enjoying a humongous green salad for lunch.
-
Humongous, I tell you.
-
I had a salad for lunch with the first greens from the fall garden. So fresh.
-
I find it amazing on Facebook that so many woke people are outraged and offended by Carousel's implications of spouse abuse, but I never see anyone complaining about A Streetcar Named Desire, Miss Julie, Bill Sykes' beating Nancy to death in Oliver! or other plays and musicals.

What a fun thing to do.

Years ago we rented a camper and took a wonderful family vacation beginning from our home in Pennsylvania, through Main and up to Cape Breton before heading home.
In the beginning Keith had me making lunch while he drove. After barely missing a finger with the knife I refused to use the kitchen while in motion.
Shortly after returning home I saw this movie for the first time. During the scene where Lucy makes dinner I laughed hysterically 🤣

Happy Halloween!
Ha!

I'm up, I'm up - about eight-and-a-half hours of sleep.
-
Yes and no DR JOHN G - you are correct.
-
DR JANE I enjoyed reading about you and Freyja. Are you having better weather than you thought you might?
-
DR George, thank you for burning the requested CDs. You are such an agreeable soul and you never get enough praise for being such a mensch. You are truly one of the best.
Thanks, Larry! It's my pleasure.

:))
-
That's funny!
-
I wish I had something interesting to report.
-
But I don't.
-
Rehearsal in twenty minutes. Then FOOD!
-
Staring into the face of a DEARTH.
-
A DEARTH, I tell you.
-
That is all.
-
THREE.
-
Fiddle-Dee-Dee.
-
;)
Happy Halloween!

:))
And where's Norma Desmond? She should be coming down those stairs, too! ;D
-
Rehearsal is done and where in tarnation IS everyone? I made bow tie pasta with sausage, onions, butter, and cheese and it's soooo good.
-
DR Jane, I am so glad that you are having time with your granddaughter.
-
I'm about to turn into a pumpkin.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Bernard Haitink, conductor, has died at age 92.
-
DR JANE I enjoyed reading about you and Freyja. Are you having better weather than you thought you might?
Thank you.
It was very windy most of the day. We also walked in the rain part of the day. Freyja wore the cutest yellow rain slicker purchased from Sweden. Unlike our slickers this one was soft and stylish. I want one :)
-
I think tomorrow we are going to a pumpkin patch.
-
DR Jane, I am so glad that you are having time with your granddaughter.
Thank you.
-
Tonight we had a delicious dinner at a restaurant near our hotel in the old district.
-
Keith and I both ordered the walnut mash burger on a pretzel bun with sweet potato fries.
-
Back from dancing.
-
It was odd that class was in a tiny room. Yet there were about 20 people trying to dance.
-
Caramelized onions, avocado, and other goodies on the burger along with an aioli sauce.
-
And of course, there was no discernable air conditioning.
-
We also had a pesto aioli sauce for dipping the perfect sweet potato fries.
-
And of course, there was no discernable air conditioning.
I don't know how you do it.
-
I am not normally a fan of pretzel buns, however, this one was incredible.
-
So we sweated to some dances that didn't require a dance floor.
-
Instead of the country dances they'd signed up, we did salsa, merengue and bachata.
-
Fun, but not my favorites.
-
I'm back to Casanova Brown. The script, from the usually reliable Nunnally Johnson, is not funny. But Gary Cooper is.
-
I am guessing you burned off a lot of calories while having fun.
-
Both Amor Towles new novel and Doerr's new novel came in today at the library. Thankfully, I could postpone one for a week.
-
I took Towles' book, because it came in first.
-
I have to finish Franzen's Crossroads first.
-
I just got past the halfway point. It's slow going.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Four!
-
Franzen's men are weak and unlikable, but his women are all harpies and shrews of some sort or another. He's very misogynistic.
-
But he's also a good writer.
-
Oh well.
-
J.B. is screaming.
-
But I'm too tired to play.
-
15 minutes left in the movie.
-
Then I can go to bed.

That was fast.

Awww. At least you mentioned him today ;)
-
'night
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
With my viewing I'm finished.
-
With page four - not finished.
-
Listening to music.
-
I am quite logy from the pasta.
-
From the pasta I am quite logy.

Not so far now from 113,000 postings.
-
Why I oughta...
-
Never much of a Haitink fan - but ninety-two is a good long run.
-
Bernard Haitink, conductor, has died at age 92.
I am so sorry. Was he with Amtrak?
-
Sorry I am late.
-
I had an unplanned nap this evening.
-
The bomb cyclone was pretty much a dud here in Washington.
-
Everywhere except Puyallup.
-
A little after five this evening,
-
we had a power failure.
-
we had a power failure.
:o
-
It didn’t seem that windy.
-
But apparently is was windier than it looked.
-
Page 5
-
At first, it didn’t seem like a big deal.
-
However, as the temperature dropped and it got darker……
-
However, as the temperature dropped and it got darker……
Yes??
-
This will NOT do.
-
It seemed a bit less amusing.
-
Do this will not.
-
A dearth of postings is not appropriate.
-
I had no WiFi.
-
NOT appropriate at this time.
-
I had no heat.
-
I Had No Wi-Fi is the title of my next novel, a story of love and greed in the deep South.
-
And I MEAN the deep South.
-
And my phone went dead.
-
Not the shallow South.
-
What the HELL is George doing, not contributing to this sparkling conversation?
-
That is most unseemly.
-
Oh, well. New notes are up.
-
And to make matters worse, all my fire alarms started chirping, like their batteries were dead.
-
Eventually I fell asleep on the bed.
-
And to make matters worse, all my fire alarms started chirping, like their batteries were dead.
Oh, no! I hate it when that happens!
-
Eventually I fell asleep on the bed.
Been there...done that. ::)
-
And when I finally woke up, the power was back on again.
