Well, you've read the notes, the notes were THOSE notes, and now it is time for you to post until THOSE cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: DEVOTION!
-
So, I just realized yesterday that last Thursday, October 14, was the 15th anniversary of me moving into my condo! ;D My original mortgage actually closed on October 1, 2006, but I didn't move in until the 14th.
-
And then, I paid off said mortgage at the beginning of last month, so that was cool, too!
-
I'm now trying to navigate through Costco's Auto Program (https://www.costco.com/auto-program-services.html). I guess it can take a couple of months if you get a factory build, so let's see what happens.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well until around 4:00/ Then I spent the rest of thr night playing with Thatch and tossing about.
-
My dreams were many, my memories of them a dud.
-
On the news front, Brian Laundrie's partial remains were identified, and Alec Baldwin was involved in a shooting on the set of a movie he's producing and acting in. The best news of all? Congress voted to press criminal charges against Steve Bannon.
-
I got an orchestration job yesterday, so I will spend part of the day dealing with prep work and listening to the song a few times to get a feeling about what I want to do with it.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good news on the work, Elmore. Would we know the song?
-
I am up too early because of having to get to the doctor early.
-
Good news on the work, Elmore. Would we know the song?
"You Will Be Found" from Dear Evan Hansen.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Friday morning, and I have nothing to report.
I slept pretty well, though, and that's something.
-
TOD
Nothing much yet, but plans will form later.
Early yesterday evening I turned the TV on for a moment and TCM was showing a Hammer film Crescendo that I'd never seen. It was half over, but it looked entertaining enough. I knew I had a Warner Archives DVD of it, so later I found that and had my first go at it. It's an odd little number, but I was in the right mood for it. And seeing Stefanie Powers in that kind of role made me want to watch Die! Die! My Darling!, an old favorite from back in the day that I haven't seen since -- well, back in the day.
-
Congrats on the orchestrating job, DR Elmore.
I know nothing of that show or any of its songs, but I know you will do right by it.
-
More coffee!
-
Good morning.
-
Soon we will be meeting the kids and then going to a pumpkin farm.
-
DR JANE I saw you with the Bronze Fonz on Facebook!
-
Rehearsal vibes for MR BK & Co.
According to the notes MR BK says he is full of it.
-
Well I took The Smart Car to the Valvoline Oil Change Emporium. They did indeed change the oil, top off the fluids, and check the tires.
I was told the tires were good and do not need to be replaced.....eventually everyone in the shop had a look inside and under the hood and wherever the oil goes.....
It was most entertaining.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I got an orchestration job yesterday
Congratulations!!
-
"You Will Be Found" from Dear Evan Hansen
There should be about a gazillion versions of that song on the Innerwebs.
-
Soon we will be meeting the kids and then going to a pumpkin farm.
What fun!
-

Congrats, Larry!!
-
Onward!
-
Two!
-
I trust you, Larry, to make the song sound good.
-
DR JANE I saw you with the Bronze Fonz on Facebook!
The statue is on the River Walk. We were the only people on it.
-
Jrand, good news on your car.
-
Friday morning greetings! It's dreary and cold here.
-
Soon we will be meeting the kids and then going to a pumpkin farm.
Sounds like fun!
-
I trust you, Larry, to make the song sound good.
Thanks. I wish I were more fond of the writers' style.
-
Soon we will be meeting the kids and then going to a pumpkin farm.
Sounds like fun!
It was.
-
Now we are at Planet Fitness while the kid naps.
-
WHILE THE KID NAPS is the name of my new television game show.

Ginger Lime is my new favorite Sparkling Ice flavor.
-
Ginger Lime is my new favorite Sparkling Ice flavor.
Yes, just had one yesterday. The taste is similar to an actual ginger beer, what with the strong ginger and the citrus. It's one of my favorites, too, along with Grape Raspberry and Black Cherry. Those are the three I'm buying now.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight-and-a-half hours of sleep.
-
Good afternoon.
-
We spent the last few days camping in the desert. No internet. Very nice.
-
Nothing much to say, except there were lots of butterflies around, which made me happy. I did a lot of hiking.
-
DR Elmore's post about the Sparkling Ice reminded me I was really thirsty, so I went to the fridge and took out the last cold one, a Black Cherry. One sip, and I suddenly associated that intense lively flavor with the cherry component of the Dolores Restaurant's cherry lime rickey. Then I remembered I also had fresh lime slices in the fridge (I usually keep some in a plastic container for squeezing into seltzer or Cokes or whatever), so why not...?
I squeezed a couple of lime slices into a glass, filled it with Black Cherry, added crushed ice, and... voila! - my best imitation yet of that rickey. I know there are a number of recipes on the web, but I haven't tried them yet. But this spur of the moment thing worked really well. I'll have to stock up on these and see about perfecting the proportions.
-
I haven’t killed the fava beans or the ong choi yet. Going away for a week might do that.
-
Work is hard today. I’m already on Florida time in my mind.
-
Nothing much to say, except there were lots of butterflies around, which made me happy. I did a lot of hiking.
It sounds perfect.
-
Actor Peter Scolari has died.
-
My doorbell dinged at about noon.
One of the guys from the oil change place was here. I was a bit nonplussed at first thinking something was wrong with the car.....BUT he was the guy who had driven my car out of the bay....and he had left his phone in the front passenger seat.
I went out and unlocked the car for him and there it was! I hadn't even noticed.
-
Of course my address is on my bill so he knew where to find me....and his phone.

ISU Ice Skating tonight at 9 p.m. on the Olympic Channel including the Men's Shorts.
-
Nope sorry - it is on the NBC Sports Channel
-
Hello, everyone.
-
It's the end of a very busy week for me and part of a busy medical-dental month. This week it was a post-op and a dental (drilling) visit, plus all the usual other stuff. I'm worn out.
-
It irks me that Cedars, like most medical groups, tries to delegate every blasted thing. I was supposed to have a 3-month post-op last summer, but the PA had left and they didn't have a replacement yet. I had to wait 6 months for an appointment, but it was with the doctor instead of the new-to-the-job PA. Last week the office called and changed that to a PA visit. I'm not comfortable having a post-op with a PA I've never met and who is so new to the job. I insisted that the doctor also take a quick look. They are sooo resistant! But relented. When I got there I had to go through the same thing with the nurse, then with the PA. I finally saw the doctor and a good thing it was because he cancelled next week's procedure when he saw what was happening and scheduled instead more diagnostics.
-
I'm confident that in the end all will be taken care of, but what a hassle they make it! One of the things I appreciate about seeing alternative practitioners is that there's none of this. It's usually a small practice, one or two doctors and maybe a reception person. Very little bureaucracy. Los stress. People smile, they're friendly, they recognize you. Completely different experience.
That concludes my discontent-with-corporate-medicine rant for today.
-
Larry, glad to hear you've got some work. I hope it leads to more.
-
VERY GLAD that BK's computer problems have been worked out! Smooth sailing from here on!
-

Are Smart Cars a novelty in Indiana? I see a number of them here. Can't say I've ever been in one, though.

Belated Happy Anniversary to Vixmom and Vixdad!
What a wonderful dinner!
What I want to know is were you able to keep the $100 gift card since the Very Generous Anonymous Diner paid for your dinner?

A strange thing has been happening. Banks are having trouble getting quarters again. Last year when this happened some people said that it was because people weren't out shopping as much, but that makes no sense to me since many of us use credit cards. It makes even less sense now that most lockdowns are over. About a week ago I was putting quarters in the washer when it rejected one. I looked at it and it was really misshapen! I now have 4 or 5 quarters that look mauled. Is the US Treasury putting old quarters back into circulation because they wouldn't have enough otherwise? These quarters can't be used in machines; you have to hand them to a human. Yet I've heard nothing about this.

TOD:
MARE OF EASTTOWN.
-
I've been rewatching BALLYKISSANGEL, a series I was slow to start, but really enjoyed.
-
Has anyone been watching BATISTE on PBS? I liked the lead actor, but just couldn't get interested in the show. I should try it again. Any fans here?
-
Travel vibes to John G. May you have a great trip.
Where in Florida?
-
TTFN.
-
Actor Peter Scolari has died.
So sad. I loved Bosom Buddies. And he was a fun Mercury in Encores! Out of This World.
-
Travel vibes to John G. May you have a great trip.
Where in Florida?
The Sarasota area, where I used to live.
-
Rehearsal is done and went extremely well. Great to have our pianist here - makes all the difference in the world. Very few notes.
-
Made two sausage, peppers, and onion sandwiches - really good.
-

How sad :(

Good thing you were home.

Wow, thank goodness you insisted. I completely understand your doing so even if it wasn't necessary.
-
DR John, have a fun trip and safe, easy travels.

We are babysitting and the baby is now sleeping.

The first concert of the season has been canceled.

Let’s move on …

-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Listening to a Paul Glass classical piece that's excellent.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Still quite full of two sausage, peppers, and onion sandwiches.
-
I think the total calorie intake was around 900 for the sandwiches.
-
I think next week I may do the same routine - two pasta and sausage dishes, one sandwich evening.
-
And I don't care who knows it or even who nose it.
-
Page 4??? You better take a vacation!
-
Obviously, you need one!
-
Just kidding.
Travel vibes for DR John G.
-
Tacoma had four people shot to death last night.
-
No arrests or suspects.
-
Often when I am feeling rushed or too lazy to cook something, I will pull out a Birdseye’s Voila skillet meal. All complete, nothing else needed except some water.
-
Tonight, the only one I had in the freezer was a Cheeseburger Skillet. I guess it sounded good when I bought it, bu it wasn’t.
-
The sauce had no flavor whatsoever.
-
The pasta filled me up, but that was about it.
-
I resisted the urge Togo to the store this afternoon, so I had no salad or rolls to go with it.
-
I won’t make that mistake again.
-
I need to make sure I have items to soup up the blahs.
-
F I V E !

My friends Sharry and Micheal are in their final weekend of a musical review.
-
And where in tarnation is George. Most unseemly.
-
Barely on page five.
-
Most unseemly.
-
I am sure it is very tough for them.
-
Listening the Bruckner 8th. Trying to like Mr. Bruckner. Perhaps someday but this is not that day. That said, this is the best performance I've heard of this eighty-minute symphony.
-
Yesterday, one of their beloved dogs passed away unexpectedly.
-
I want to like it.
-
I really do.
-
The loss of pets can be very traumatic.
-
I'm still VERY full from the two sandwiches.
-
Aren't you?
-
The dog they lost was Bogart, their St. Bernard.
-
I've never tried one of those complete skillet meals - perhaps one day I will.
-
I just might.
-
I am devastated, as well.
-
I used to love Topper's St. Bernard - Neil. Played by Buck. How do I remember this stuff.
-
George is still missing.
-
Most unseemly.
-
But we are here and here we are.
-
New notes are written and will post on time.
-
Meanwhile, I think I'll go set up the chairs for tomorrow's dress rehearsal.
-
I've never tried one of those complete skillet meals - perhaps one day I will.
Don’t try the Cheeseburger Skillet, but the others are okay.
-
Break a leg tomorrow, BK!
-
And I have a toothache.
-
Where is George?
-
Oh, he is here.
-
And I believe my scooter is on its last leg.
-
And where in tarnation is George. Most unseemly.
I have arrived...finally. ;)
-
Page Six!
-
George is still missing.
Not anymore. I'm trying to ketchup on all the posts.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Okay...and now to post some posts.
-
Actor Peter Scolari has died.
I saw that. He was only 66 years old. :(
-

Very strange! I haven't used much cash at all in the last several years. I do have a gallon jug that's about a third of the way filled with coinage.
-
I suppose I should cash them in soon. The last time I filled the jug (I've only filled it twice before) and cashed it in, it had about $460 in it!
-
DR John, have a fun trip and safe, easy travels.
~~~Ditto!!~~~
Ushered for the ballet tonight. It was Okay. Highlights of favorites like Swan Lake.
I forget what's the performance, but I'm working concessions tomorrow at South Puget Sound Community College. The Washington Center handles the volunteers for that space.
-
It's been a while since I've concessed there, so it'll be an adventure! At least, someone else has signed up to be there with me, so hopefully that person has worked there more recently than I have.
-
Tacoma had four people shot to death last night.
That's terrible! :(
-
Tonight, the only one I had in the freezer was a Cheeseburger Skillet. I guess it sounded good when I bought it, bu it wasn’t.
Tonight when I got home from my mom's, I was going to have some tomato soup that I got from Costco...except that the top was totally expanded out and was still completely sealed! :o
-
When I opened it, it didn't smell bad at all, and the best by date wasn't until next month, so I poured some into a bowl and heated it. When I tasted it after the first minute in the microwave, it tasted like it had fermented, so out went all of it. :P
-
I do have another one from the 2-pack and that was looks totally fine. The seal on the top is concave and not pushed out, so I think that container is okay...hopefully.
-
My friends Sharry and Micheal are in their final weekend of a musical review.
What show? Where's it playing??
-
Yesterday, one of their beloved dogs passed away unexpectedly.
Oh, no. :'( I'm so sorry.
-
And I believe my scooter is on its last leg.
That's not good, either!
-
~~~Vibes for Tom's Scooter!!~~~

Good night, George.

Good night, Tom.
