Well, you've read the notes, the notes did the act, and now it is time for you to post until the doing the act cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SAVVY!
-
Great picture, BK! And congrats again on the successful show!
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
We all slept snugly and warmly under our laundered winterized bedding. After six hours of laundry, moving s mattress, and putting the bed back together with new blankets and comforter, I was very happy I vacuumed on Saturday.
-
I'm now about a third through State of Terror, and it's a good thriller. I don'y know which author - Clinton or Penny - is behind the writing style of strings of short 2- to 4-word incomplete sentences, but I can't say I like it much. I find it annoying.
-
I had an interesting phone call yesterday, and if all goes well, I may be heading back to Dublin to do more recording. Thnere is much to be worked out.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Hope all works out with Dublin, Elmore.

-
Congrats to MR BK on his millstone - and to him and the cast on the wonderful show!
-
Car vibes - I think you got a haunted one - maybe you should try a sage cleansing instead of a trip to the garage!
-
My uncle went back to the ER last night. He is still there today, waiting for a bed in the BIG hospital.
I have my annual Medicare checkup today - after which I will stop by and give him a look.
-
I like the two novelty songs mentioned in the notes, and I will add:
Lipstick On Your Collar
Three Little Girls Sitting in the Backseat
Glendora
The Railroad Goes Through the Middle of the House
Sylvia's Mother
Maxwell's Silver Hammer
and all of DR JOHN G's Cole Porter goodies.
-
Erin Go Bragh vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
That cabaret act sounds like a dream. Wonderful song selections!!
-
~~~CAR VIBES~~~ for bk!!!!!
-
I had an interesting phone call yesterday, and if all goes well, I may be heading back to Dublin to do more recording.
How terribly exciting!! ~~~VIBES~~~ that everything works out.
-
Sorry to hear about your uncle, DR Jrand71.
-
Vibes for your uncle and you, JRand.
-
Had a weird dream that I was somehow helping BK on a project that involved a lot of people getting on a bus. A Partridge Family -age Shirley Jones was there using a crutch. And we were late getting on the bus, but no one but Shirley noticed. And then I woke up.
TOD 2:
The Homecoming Queen’s Got a Gun
Good morning, all.
-
Sounds like a great show was had. Congrats to all!
-
Luck o' the Irish to ye, DR Elmore!
-
Car electrical vibes for BK!
-
Back to rehearsal tonight. And as of now, I'm only called for tonight and Wednesday nights, which is fine indeed. No complaint here.
-
Topic of the Day: I Love Fish. If I remember correctly, it was a hidden bonus track at the end of a BK-produced CD. :)
-
I just had a 90-minute phone call about a new recording project, and I have sent emails to my usual crew asking about their participation. And now I wait for responses.
-
And I, too, am happy last night's show went well.
Thanks, everyone! My appointment was fine.
I visited for a few minutes with my uncle. He is in good spirits and still awaiting an opening at the big boy hospital.....
Santa Claus Is a Black Man
I have an ancient translation of Zola novels on Kindle. I stopped reading them because everything was flat. Seems that everything was censored. Got a modern translation of L’Assommoir and it’s wonderful. Sex, violence and drinking.
Grandma got run over by a reindeer
There was also a spoof of that called "Spice Girls Got Run Over By a Reindeer!" :))
I'm up, I'm up - a bit over eight hours of sleep.
-
Raining outside.
-
In a little while I'll see what the story is with the motor car.
-
And the motor car started right up, so maybe I'm nuts about the flashing light - may have just been flashing to show the car alarm is armed - maybe I never noticed it in the past eleven years.
-
Did stuff, went to Gelson's and couldn't get what I wanted for sandwiches, thanks to only one person working the deli counter and too many people waiting, so I got their cheese enchiladas and am eating them now.
-
Car wouldn't beep when I was locking it - and that does mean the battery will drain, but I finally got it, too. I may go out in an hour and start it up, just to be safe.
-
And it's raining.
-
Thanks John & George. Keith is finally feeling back to his usual self.
-
Thank you George.
-
My uncle went back to the ER last night. He is still there today, waiting for a bed in the BIG hospital.
I have my annual Medicare checkup today - after which I will stop by and give him a look.
I am sorry. I hope he is feeling better while he waits for a proper bed.
I am glad he is in good spirits.
Raining outside.
I believe it is raining on the entire West Coast.
-
Bruce, is it also windy there? It is very windy here.
-
There is an ambulance outside our building. I do not know, but can guess, which unit it is visiting.
-
Had a gorgeous lunch on the beach. Peel-and-eat shrimp, crab-stuffed mushrooms, lobster and artichoke dip, and blackened ahi tuna.
First up, the view from our table.
Monday evening greetings! Not sure where today has gone, but I did finish an audiobook while doing some organizing in my crafty corner. The book was I Was Told It Would Get Easier by Abbi Waxman, the December selection for my AAUW book group. The story was cute and timely, but I really disliked one of the dual narrators. She sounded about as much like a teenage girl as I do.
-
DR John G, I'll have clam strips and a Blue Moon, please!
-
It's not very windy here but it's raining. The lights blinked a couple of times but the power hasn't gone out, yet.
Just came across a recipe on the Internet called "Chili Cheese Tater Tot Casserole," and wondering how I feel about that.
-
Lovely photos, DR John G. Thanks for sharing.
It left while I wasn't looking. I hope the neighbor didn't leave with it. He often doesn't.
Not really. I’ve read a lot of old translations of Balzac and a couple of Dumas. They were definitely expurgated, but the difference is that they were still entertaining to read, even when cut. The Zola novels, in this set of translations, are not entertaining. You know something is missing.
-
DR John G, I'll have clam strips and a Blue Moon, please!
I didn’t see clam strips. That was back in Seattle.
The best clam strips I ever had were at a snack bar at the Jersey Shore.
My uncle is still in his room at the ER.....probably not moved until tomorrow.
Is covid the reason for a shortage of rooms? Today my doctor said she is SO TIRED of hearing covid as an excuse. It is also why it might take a couple of weeks to find out if the tests she ordered will be pre-approved by my insurance company.
-
Bruce, nice photo of you and Alexa. I'm glad the show went well.
-
I have my book group discussion soon.
-
It will be a small group.
-
A few people are out of town.
-
One women got her booster this morning and isn't feeling all that great.
-
Not windy here and rain has stopped for now - started up the motor car, and then it locked properly, so that's good.
-
Another woman, who lives in our building, found out she was exposed to covid on Friday. Fortunately I haven't seen her since before our trip.
-
I have been on the phone nonstop since noon. I have yeas from Rob Berman and New World Records and I think we will aim for our first recording for August 2022, title(s) to be announced later.
I'm mentally fatigued, but very pleased at the moment.
Very good. Our wind has died down to 9 miles an hour, still raining though.
-
Guess I had better get ready to walk to the club house for our discussion.
DR JEANNE I keep forgetting to answer your question from last week.
I haven't seen another Smart Car here in my little town.....we shall see if I spot one.......
I'm not. :)
Good news!! Yay!
-
Hello, DR Jeanne.
-
Sounds like BK had a GREAT show. I hadn't realized that Laura Wolfe, AKA Tall Girl, was The Singer.
I suspect that many people don't realize that some singers have a director and much of the credit goes to him (or her). The singer gets all the credit.
-
WONDERFUL news from Elmore!!
I am excited for you!
-
Last night TCB posted:
Except, just like when go to the doctor with a problem, the minute you see the doctor the symptoms all disappear. The same will happen with your car. What trunk light?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's exactly what happened to me last week at my post-op. After a battle to actually see the doctor instead of just the PA, one of the new problems wouldn't materialize. But he saw enough to know we had to backtrack.
-
Glad to hear that DH Keith is feeling better.
The pairing of Clinton and Penny surprised me. I stopped reading Louise Penny's books because life is just too perfect in them--except, of course, that someone is murdered. The murder is solved, then perfection returns. A lot of incomplete sentences would bother me, too, and I don't recall Penny doing that.
Can you tell us a little more about the history of this? Who initiated it? Does New World Records usually agree so quickly?
DR JEANNE I keep forgetting to answer your question from last week.
Ah, so most folks in your town hadn't seen one up close and personal. You'll become known as they guy who drives the Smart Car.
Hi, sing. Sorry I missed you.
Yes, we had lovely RAIN! Rain! Can you believe it! I was having a quasi-Me Day, enjoying the rain. But when I went into the kitchen to make some lunch I heard a drip, drip, drip. And what was an empty pot sitting on top of the stove now held water. Not again! This is the FIFTH time the roof has leaked since I've lived here and the THIRD time in that same spot. Gawd!
I called the manager, who is quite blase about inconveniencing others. The kitchen ceiling is now wet and part of it will have to come down. This isn't the first time. If it were me who managed the building I'd feel quite apologetic. Not her.
-
The sun is trying to come out now and I hope the rain is over for now -- at least until the roof gets fixed.
-
Novelty songs can be great fun. My favorite version of Monster Mash. (I've posted it before, but it's worth repeating.)
I saw that Mike O’Malley co-wrote the book for Escape to Margaritaville. Is that Kerry’s brother?
Mike is indeed Kerry's brother.
I think Penny writes beautifully and uses complete sentences.
~~~ROOF/LEAK VIBES~~~ for both DR Jeanne and DR Laura!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good night, friends.
-
There were only three of us at the discussion tonight, still we had a good time and a good discussion.
-
I got lucky, walking over I only had a light rain.
-
My walk home only had a very light drizzel.
-
The fall leaves here are beautifull.

I shall now be on my way to the theater for our first rehearsal.
Hope it goes well.

'night
-
Back from an excellent first rehearsal. I blocked the entire reading in two-and-a-half hours and it's going to work really well. I came in knowing how I wanted the stage to be, in terms of where the chairs live - there are five playing areas. I didn't want entrances and exits, nor did I want the cast all sitting in chairs facing the audience. So, there are two chairs in each playing area, and another two chairs behind them facing upstage, so no one leaves the stage but they're not part of it once they're seated in the back chairs. That works great.
-
So, I stayed at work tonight for an extra four, count 'em, FOUR hours. :o
-
With my co-worker on vacation and not coming back until Thursday, I had some invoicing to do that I didn't have time to do, so I asked my new supervisor if I could stay (she was training with her predecessor, so they were both there tonight, and I wouldn't be there alone) and she said that I could, so I did.
-
I got done what had to be done on the specific computer system that I use (not on the Internet), but I wanted to finish the report at home (which would not take too long, but longer than I was given permission to stay for), but I left my thumb drive at work, so I'll have to do it tomorrow, anyway. :P
-
That won't be a problem.
-
I just wanted to get it done tonight.
-
But I can download invoices pretty easily from home, so I'll be working on that.
-
There is an ambulance outside our building. I do not know, but can guess, which unit it is visiting.
Don’t sweat it, unless you spot a hearse sitting outside your door.
