Well, you've read the notes, the notes did that again, and now it is time for you to post until the did that again cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PAROXYSM!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I believe I slept OK. Whatever dreams I had are long forgotten by now.
-
Around 9:00 last night I did have a Halloween surprise. I was in bed, reading State of Terror with MSNBC on in the background and Annabelle lying beside me, and from the area of the large wndow I heard a cat mewing softly and scratching its claws on the window frame. I thought it was Thatch, who did that a lot as a kitten and young cat, so I called his name and asked what was wrong.
There was no response. Then I saw that Thatch was on the floor near the bed.
-
Since he and Stella have similar small voices, I figured it was Stella, so I called her name several times. There was no response. Then I noticed that she was sleeping on my guest chair.
Who was it? What was it? I'm still puzzled.
-
I haven't seen THE BAT since it was first released, and I have alwats wanted to see THE BAT WHISPERS. I have seen the play in summer stock and I have read the Mary Roberts Rinehart novel on which it was based.
-
I thought I would make pasta sauce today, but I realized there's no room in my freezer to put the excess. I'll work on my orchestration instead.
-
Good morning, all.
-
The Bat Whispers is on YouTube. Maybe I will watch that later.
-
Elmore, are you familiar with JAY’s recording of Rodgers and Hart’s The Girlfriend?
-
Any good?
-
Trick or treat!
-
~~~SAFE & EASY TRAVEL VIBES~~~ for DR John G. later today!!!!
-
DR TCB your comment about the play version of THE BAT answers that question!
If you have Comcast it's also available ONDemand if you look for it under TV SHOWS-FOX NETWORK
-
There is also The Big Leaf.... the story of a giant oak.
-
I started The Bat Whispers. Don’t know if I’ll finish. There’s only so much Una Merkel one can fit in a day.
-
Good morning, all.
-
The 50% off Criterion sale at B&N starts today.
-
Good morning, ChasSmith.
-
Yes, just saw that about the B&N sale. A couple of days earlier than usual. And it runs through Nov. 29th.
-
Between those two women, I had to turn the volume down.
-
Friday. It is Friday.
It's a classic overcast brisk fall day here, and we're going to take in the country cemetery late this afternoon. Should be perfect.
-
I'd enjoy seeing that play sometime, but I shall definitely have to read the Mary Roberts Rinehart novel.
-
TOD:
I put The Birds into the DVD player before leaving for Florida. Maybe I will have time to watch it.
-
Onward.
-
Two!
-
Good Morning - we just finished the first of a few Halloween festivities here at school - the parade! It was very well organized and the kids had fun.
-
TOD: On the Spotify, the new Andrew Lloyd Webber "Symphonic Suites" has finally dropped. I'm still in the middle of listening, but I'm not too impressed by the arrangements, mostly the transitions between songs - which will kill any "suite". But they sound good.
-
Elmore, are you familiar with JAY’s recording of Rodgers and Hart’s The Girlfriend?
No, I'm not. I need to check it out.
-
Yes, Annabelle, I said to her. It's today!
-
Good morning.
-
Happy National Cat Day to all the DCs out there.
-
I just learned that Camille Saviola has died. This is so sad.
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of not enough damn sleep and I'm going back to bed in ten minutes.
-
We had Camille Saviola in an early Kritzerland show, way back in 2011 - the Schmidt and Jones show as I recall. I liked her very much, but she wasn't for Kritzerland, unfortunately - that kind of cabaret stuff didn't come easy to her. Really nice and fun person, though, and sad to hear of her passing.
I saw that. Loved her in Nine.
-
Well, I think - I say, I think! - the health insurance issue is resolved, and I can proceed to the next step before radiation treatments. This is a huge relief.
-
Good afternoon!
Yay!
This sounds like a huge relief. Here's hoping that everything going forward will be smoother.
Yesterday evening we had our first outside group using the church building since the pandemic began. It was good to be back in the kitchen again.
-
I pre-measured the ingredients for the brownie bites and took it all over to bake there. After I got the brownies in the oven, I looked at a baggie of white powder and thought: "I hope that's the powdered sugar to sprinkle on top, not the flour."
It wasn't.
-
Oy.
-
I hope your insurance stuff is all sorted out, Elmore. What a relief.
Amen.
From John:
In Sarasota County, Fla.? It’s been too long since I lived here. My favorite place has gone out of business. Hillary and I commiserated about its loss.
I meant at home where you don't have any local Italian joints.
Yawn.
-
Thanks for the travel vibes. Made it to the airport in the nick of time.
-
My connecting flight has been delayed 30 minutes. Ugh.
-
I didn't get back into bed until one for reasons I'll explain later. Just up so all told I at least got eight hours. Of course, the day is just about done.
-
Thanks for the travel vibes. Made it to the airport in the nick of time.
I hate cutting it close. We tend to be extra early.
Do you have TSA pre-approved security check?
-
My connecting flight has been delayed 30 minutes. Ugh.
Better than your first flight being delayed ;)
-
Hello, everyone.
YAY! Vibes it stays resolved.
TOD:
THE LONG CALL, an adaptation of an Ann Cleeves novel. So far, so-so. I'm not a big Ann Cleeves fan. The production is fine.
-
I have no news.
TTFN.
-
If tomorrow morning is as nice outside as it was this afternoon, I will skip the gym and walk. The fall leaves are still beautiful even though the wind is blowing too many off of the trees.
-
SO thankful for DR elmore3003's good insurance news.
-
I have some strawberries to hull.
-
I have to hie myself hence to hull a haul.
Why I oughta...
-
Finished with my viewing.
And I don't care who knows it.
-
Who's on first.
-
Most unseemly.
I found another wonderful LA driving vid where the guy converts it to 60 frames per second. Someone had figured out the first street shown, but not the others. The guy who posted is always wrong in his dates - this he said was the 30s - even though you can clearly read a billboard about fuel that says 1941, which is accurate. I, of course, figured out the exact week :) There's a drive-by a small movie theater and I got what was playing. For two HOURS, I tried to find the theater, but if I'd only rewatched the beginning of the video, where the same theater goes by quickly on the right, I would have realized what theater it was. But I found it anyway. I'll put all this in the notes. All I can tell you is that one of the shots, the second one, is on Eighth Street going east. I was able to identify a hotel on the left and found its address. And had this shot started a mere five seconds prior to when it does, we would have seen my father's restaurant on the right. It literally starts right after that - I recognized the building on the corner (at Hobart) instantly.
-
That's really cool, BK!
-
Of course, we could've been on page 17 by now if you hadn't put that all in one post!
-
:o
-
;D
-
Oh dear!
-
I just woke up.
-
I fell asleep waiting for WHEEL OF FORTUNE.
-
That comes on at 7:00
-
I was at my mom's playing Phase 10.
-
Gratuitous Post #100!
-
I guess I was tired.
-
After leaving my mom's, I went shopping at Fred Meyer.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Does anyone else remember when JOKER’S WILD was on in the early evening?
-
When I got to Fred Meyer, I sat in my car for a few minutes, answering some texts from a friend of mine.
-
Like right after the news.
-
Does anyone else remember when JOKER’S WILD was on in the early evening?
I remember in being on sometime between 6:00 and 8:00.
-
Tom Kennedy was the host.
-
While sitting in my car, I heard a fairly loud CRUNCH! :o
-
Tom Kennedy was the host.
I do remember him hosting that.
-
They had some good looking Air Force captain on the show.
-
He was on forever.
-
They gave the winner a new car if he won five games.
-
They gave the winner a new car if he won five games.
That's pretty cool. Did he win the car??
-
This guy won like 14 cars.
-
He was like Ken Jennings on Jeopardy.
-
Except better looking.
-
Hello, George.
-
I didn’t hear you come in.
-
This guy won like 14 cars.
Wow! That's amazing! Congrats to him!
-
Back to my Fred Meyer story...it turns out that a car ran into another car.
-
Of course, since it was in a parking lot, no one was hurt and I don't think either car had much damage.
-
The occupants of both cars got out and inspected the damage, and then left a couple of minutes later.
-
F I V E!
-
Then, I went in to Fred Meyer and did some impulse shopping. :)
-
I didn't get anything that I needed, but I wasn't really looking for anything specific, actually.
-
I can’t believe I slept that long.
-
I did get a few things that I decided that I wanted. ;)
-
I can’t believe I slept that long.
That's not a bad thing, especially when you need it.
-
George, did you win at Bunko tonight?
-
Then, I drove through Taco Bell for a late dinner, came home and ate it all up.
-
Quite delish...a little cold, but still very good.
-
George, did you win at Bunko tonight?
Nope...lost both games.
-
I don’t think that is the right game.
-
Wow, George, look at us!
-
I don’t think that is the right game.
No, it's Phase 10. Close, but no ceegar. ;D
-
I have no idea what kind of game Bunko is. ::)
-
Wow, George, look at us!
Pretty cool!
-
Well, it guess I was wrong (completely). Tom Kennedy never hosted JOKER’s WILD
-
I wonder what I was thinking about?
-
I wonder what I was thinking about?
Me, too! :o
-
New notes are up and now you can watch the video.
