Well, you've read the notes, the notes waned, and now it is time for you to post until the waning cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: REGALE!
-
Wow...only two more days and it's the end of the year! Who'da thunk it?? ;D
-
Yesterday before I left work, I got the news that all the libraries will be closed today, so another day off! And unless it's cancelled, I'm ushering again for A Christmas Carol tonight.
-
After moving in, getting settled, and having a nice dinner; I kind of fell asleep for the evening.
-
Hi, Tom!
-
Already one major problem, my wheelchair doesn’t fit thru the bathroom door. WTH?
-
We have a workable system in place for now, but I think it is a sign that I need to go home.
-
Jane, I don’t know if I can answer your question.
-

Hopefully, you can go home sooner rather than later!
-
Hello, George.
-
Jane, my phone works because I pay $20.00 per month for the privilege. My phone has internet abilities, but only if I connect up to WIFI. I don’t know how your phone works, or why I can’t use Bluetooth to get online.
-
Good news about having wi-fi, Tom.

I have a data plan with my smartphone, so even with no wi-fi, I can surf the web on it. My tablets, however, can only use wi-fi.

Well, this is cool...Wisconsin’s Capital City Bans Cat Declawing (https://blog.theanimalrescuesite.greatergood.com/madison-bans-cat-declawing/). :)
-
Good night.
-
Good night, Tom.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
DR TCB - glad to hear you've been "sprung." I'll bet the food is a lot better where you are now. I know you long to be home. Soon.
-
DR John G. - thanks so much for your thoughts on the new West Side Story.
-
I have here the new "Paramount Presents" Blu Ray edition of Harold and Maude. It says it contains new bonus features. I have no idea how it compares to the previous "Criterion Collection" edition. Which I also have. Somewhere.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I was lying in bed thinking, what time is it? When I checked the clock, it was 6:15, so why didn't my alarm ring at 5:45?
-
Well, I'll tell you why: someone tirned down the volume of the alarm to 0, Now, I know I didn't do iot, and none of the cats will admit to it, so I am completely stymied. I turned up the volume, and I'll check it later to see if it's a problem with my phone.
-
Everything seems off now, so I need to regain my equilibrium ro get on with things.
-
DR TCB, I'm happy to see you've been sprung. Tell us how you got WiFi.
-
I need to make an important phone call this morning between 9:00 and 10.
-
Did DR Ginny and Richard get home safely?
-
:P
-
moving on
-
TWO!!
-
Good morning to all. I hope everyone is well and have a great holiday and will have a great New Year’s.
-
And I asked BK query.
What would be your ideal way to make a movie of the Benjamin Kritzer books? Would you like one movie per book or would you like to do a mini series of each book? Or combine the three books into one long series?
-
Good morning, all.
-
Must run out for a blood test.
-
Must run out for a blood test.
I do hope they find that you have some!!!
-
Good mornng!
-
Today is Wednesday.
I knew it immediately upon awakening.
I have a haircut appointment at 11 a.m. in Edgefield.
After it, I "may" drive over to Aiken and visit Sam's Club again.
-
I have often wondered how Edgefield got its name.
Was it originally a trading goods shop set up at the edge of a big field? I do not know.
There is a very lengthy and interesting wikipedia entry on Edgefield recounting its long history. I guess it's most notable today for having been the birthplace and death place of Senator Strom Thurmond who, having served 48 years in Congress as a Democrat, a Dixiecrat and a Republican, is the only man to have reached the age of 100 while in office.
-
This morning has not been easy. Annabelle would not eat, then spent the entire time I was cleaning the litter wailing at me. I don't know if she's hungry, angry or sick, but all three worry me.
-
That's it. That's all I know about Edgefield.
Well, that...and the fact that it has a rather violent past with many bloody deaths taking place within the county and even upon the steps of the courthouse.

Sometimes, cats lose their sense of smell for a short time. If you were to put food in her mouth, her sense of taste might still be all right and she might eat.

That has been a problem in the past.
-
Apparently Stanley tucci or someone in his family had a Partridge Family lunchbox.

Good morning, all.

Much easier to just put some on her nose, which she'll lick off, with hopefully that result. I've had to do this with our cats a few times, notably with Mikey when he's letting us know that he doesn't approve of what he has been served.

Okay, I went back to SoundCloud and got a free account set up. The free one provides up to 3 hours worth of content, or 4 GB in total size, I guess whichever limit you hit first. That should be more than plenty for the likes of moi.
-
the likes of moi.
And we do. Like you, I mean.

DR John. G., could you share your (or whoever's) recipes for the two radish dishes you posted about last week?

Looking forward to the new Around the World in 80 Days.
-
Wednesday morning greetings!
Did DR Ginny and Richard get home safely?
We did, indeed, DR Elmore, but it was an adventure. We left Charlotte’s house in a snow shower that quickly developed into serious snowfall. We visited a Honda dealership in NW Indiana for new wiper blades and the weather conditions improved significantly during that stop.
-
Thanks DR Singdaw. I am hoping The General Elliot will have a new owner and re-open.
-
Good morning.
-
After moving in, getting settled, and having a nice dinner; I kind of fell asleep for the evening.
I can imagine it all tired you out.
-
So sorry to hear about the General Eliot closing, Jane.

I don't understand it either. I just know if I have cell service & usually can also connect to the internet. I haven't figured out why my iPhone & Samsung tablet no longer connect by bluetooth. Fortunately I can connect to Keith's Samsung phone so I haven't researched this recent problem.
-
Good news about having wi-fi, Tom.
Yes, very good news indeed.

I am glad conditions improved while you obtained new wipers. I half expected you to stay an extra day.
-
It has indeed been a morning of hell. Difficult phone call about the recording project, difficult phone call with the person causing the problems, dropping things, juggling too many financial disasters, added to the fact that standing is unbearably uncomfortable and walking is torture on my right leg.
I hate my life.
-
So sorry to hear about the General Eliot closing, Jane.
Thank you. I am very grateful it was still open when we were there. The family home down the road was gone. A nice local told us approximately where it had been as it is now a nice subdivision.
-
It is very loud here as a cutter/grinder, something is used to get the windows out in order to re-glaze them.
-
In total four windows will be done.
-
Only two today, beginning with the one that is letting a bit of rain inside.
-
I forgot to add the final blow: one of the cats decided to vomit at the goot of the kitchen sink and I stepped into it in my bare feet.
-
I am still here. I'm just not HERE.
Nothing tragic.....just busy work and places I have to be with people.
-
I enjoyed reading the comments about WSS from DR JOHN G from his private screening.

A pediatrician at Texas Children's Hospital along with a Baylor College professor have developed a covid vaccine which can be mass-produced and used across the globe. India has approved it for emergency use. https://www.yahoo.com/news/texas-pediatrician-professor-developed-low-004105672.html
Texas Children's Hospital is not making a profit on this. I hope it makes a difference.
-
It is rather cold in here and getting colder by the minute. I had to put slippers on over my socks.
-
I enjoyed reading the comments about WSS from DR JOHN G from his private screening.
Thank you. I know a lot of it has been said before.
-
I am enjoying Stanley Tucci’s Taste. I may have to get my own copy for the recipes. Yes, it includes how to make Timpano.
-
My nose is cold ;D
-
My office is cold so I am not going to use my computer for awhile.

DR Jane, I would have suggested that, but I knew how much Mary Linda was looking forward to having the day to herself. Rob went to work, Charlotte went to daycare, and Mary Linda didn’t have to work. She didn’t need us hanging around.
-
There’s no work to be done, so I am trying to get ahead on classes I’m supposed to take. Except the class I’m on is going over I already do.

Wake me if/when I start to snore.

That's pretty cool!

I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep. Up until the wee wee hours of the morning making notes for the new book.
-
It’s 82 out there now, headed up to 85.
-
I drove down the street perpendicular to mine and noticed fall trees on one side with leaves of red, yellow and brown while the trees on the other side were showing plenty of spring green. Very strange.

Yes, if Charlotte wasn't there you might as well leave.

It is 34 degrees outside. I am surprised it is 60 degrees inside my office as it feels much colder.
-
YAY, two windows are in.
-
Keith just turned the heat back up, all the way to 70 degrees :)
-
I took a muscle relaxer around noon, and then spent the next two hours in a semi-comatose state. I finally dragged myself out of bed to feed the cats around 2:30.
-
Well, I feel really stupid! I just found out that CODA is an acronym for Child of Deaf Adult. i just thought that the film's title was an arcane reference to the film's musical themes.

Right now, it's 30° in Tumwater.

Excellent distinction.
-
Had some tuna sandwiches - tiny ones on those tiny Hawaiian rolls - very good.
-
Shayne - I should think three separate movies would be the truest way to go - or perhaps do the first book as one film and the second two as one film. But yes, you could do it as a five or six part series like they do these days. Todd Haynes would be my director choice, although I think this new gal who did CODA has the right kind of temperament for it.Once upon a time I would have said Spielberg but now he's just being a copycat about it :)
-
I think I'll go to the mail place at six rather than now. It's raining out.

With the right dose of smart ass thrown in for good measure.
-
I had forgotten that CODA was one of those things......
-
Today is the second anniversary of Dad’s death. I do miss him.
-
this day has not stopped.....and neither have I until this moment.
I will tell that in my ENTIRE town....there is not one furnace filter that will fit in my furnace..... 14x24x1 ...... how hard can it be?
I had looked online and they all seemed to have them.....but I guess I didn't really check the IN STOCK box....
I was beginning to think I was going crazy and that I wasn't remembering the dimensions correctly..... I am crazy - but the dimensions were correct.
-
I am now waiting for someone to bring me a piece of paper they want me to sign.
-
And on one of my sojourns today I found a CD at the Goodwill store that is violinist Joshua Bell playing some Leonard Bernstein tunes, including a West Side Story suite.
So I think I will play that and choreograph it for tomorrow - to entertain myself.
-
The arrangement is by William David Broun and it was recorded in London in England, Europe.
-
:)
Bravo!
-
DR Jrand71, I, too, have a piece of paper I'd like you to sign.
Just leave those other parts blank. I'll fill them in later.
-
That's something we should pick up for the weekend. The tiny Hawaiian rolls.

I used to have that CD. Maybe I still do.

I’m taking off work early.

In other news, I just made cranberry sauce to add to the New Year's Eve snacks. I started that tradition last year because I love the stuff anyway, and it carries over a nice holiday touch to end them with.
I made this one with dark sweet cherries, something I've wanted to do since a friend brought that over some years ago and it was so damned delicious. I hope mine turns out to be damned delicious, too.
-
:)

The other thing I now insist on having on the table is black eyed peas. I only learned about that tradition a few years ago, and it's a fun one. Of course, I also happen to love black eyed peas.
-
I didn't know that about CODA, either!

Thank you, Jane.

One more …

Ghislaine Maxwell found guilty! Yay!
-
I just read that.
-
I am still waiting for a verdict on Jennifer Holmes. It isn't looking good.
-
I think it is looking good for her :(
-
Ghislaine Maxwell found guilty! Yay!
Heard that on the CBS news when I gave the cats a treat. I'd love it if she spilled the dirt on Trump in a plea deal.

:)
-
Good evening!
-
I'm back from Buffalo. No problems with the flight---as a matter of fact, the plane arrived a few minutes early.
-
I'd love to see the Benjamin Kritzer trilogy filmed!
-

I didn't know that either!

Must run out for a blood test.
I do hope they find that you have some!!!
That has been a problem in the past.
For me, as well. I have all blood drawn from my right arm. When they try my left arm, my veins "travel". And they continue poking and poking and always the same result. In my right arm, the veins seem more stable.
-

Yes, I have heard a cold snap has hit the west coast. Meanwhile, they are breaking records in Alaska for warm weather in December. Yikes!

I did manage to get my hair cut today, but I did not venture out to Sam's Club.
Here is my barber shop:

-
Funny coinky-dink about my barber.
He has been here about two years.
His name is Brian Seymour, and he moved here with his wife from Tumwater, Washington.
-
Could he perhaps change his name to Floyd?
-
I haven't yet seen Being the Ricardos, but I know I'll enjoy it in spite of, well, everything.
Nevertheless, I am shocked, shocked, to hear that the characters in it refer -- possibly more than once -- to "taping" the show.
-

Congrats on an easy flight home.
-
Guess I'll mosey on over to the mail place.
-
Good evening.
-
I have a ceiling. Tomorrow they will paint it.
-
And because I am such a nice customer, he patched the spot where the landline phone was installed, and he says he'll paint the living room up to the china cabinet (which is too heavy to move, since it's full).
-
Maybe that's because I made a trial batch of bread bowls, and I asked the fellas to taste test them for me, with some split pea soup that had been simmering on the stove all morning.
-
So it looks like this ordeal will be over with tomorrow.
-
Back from picking up a couple of packages - very wet and rainy out there, but thankfully not many cars.
-

I watched it last week and was quite impressed. I did not for one minute think I was watching Nicole Kidman act a part. She WAS the character without "Debra-Messing-it-up" by trying to imitate Lucy. Loved Bardem as Ricky, too.
-
I have a ceiling. Tomorrow they will paint it.
I hope you are very pleased with the end result.

'night

Very good news, DR Laura. It took them long enough.

I would love a bread bowl filled with split pea soup!

Good night, friends.

Hugs for John G

Health and healing vibes for TCB, Elmore and Richard

3 people in our suite have tested positive for covid
-
Also the husband of another and the son of yet another
-
The rest of us are distancing and double masking
-
And we’re all vaccinated
-
Can't sleep.
-
Stay safe and healthy, DR vixmom!!!
-
The fact that I can't sleep and the fact that I'm being driven crazy by the latest Daisy cottage cheese commercial may or may not be related.
They try to rhyme "fresh" with "delish." Sheesh!

Oof!

I wouldn't lose any sleep on it, though.

Vibes for Vixmom and her coworkers!
-
At the party I went to tonight, several people were not there because they had covid. And yet the only people with masks were my friend Gail, a friend who has been battling cancer and me.
-
Can anyone tell me why gas prices went up 30 cents a gallon today?
-
Ghislaine Maxwell found guilty! Yay!
And next, perhaps, Prince Andrew (known in his younger days, as Randy Andy).
-
Young Prince Andrew could have easily have corrupted my youth, if he wasn’t ten years younger than me.
-
I was almost just a bad boy - almost ordered some pasta from a jernt nearby, but stopped myself in the nick of time. I haven't eaten THAT much food today, but still - the other thing I thought about was one of them chicken sandwich things - those are super good. I'll look around here and see if I have anything that's light that would be fun to nibble on but I don't think I do - I do have one of those tiny Boboli pizza dough things - that's actually not a bad idea now that I'm thinking about it. And I'm thinking about it, oh, yes, I'm thinking about it. I could also make a little pasta but that's a lot of effort.

-
Today I ushered (for the third and last time) for a one-act local production of A Christmas Carol.
-
When I ushered the previous time, one of the actors was out, due to a (possible?) Covid exposure.
-
The entire cast was there tonight and they were all spot on.
-
They have a performance tomorrow night, and were supposed to have a New Year's Eve performance.
-
But, we found out that they decided to cancel the NYE performance because of the potential weather.
-
Not all of the actors are local, so there is some travelling to get to the theater.
-
Cancelling the last performance makes sense...unless you bought a ticket to that one performance and it would have been the only time that you could see it.
-
I hadn't signed up to usher that night, so it doesn't bother me.
-
I am getting very tired. I need to go to sleep.
-
Good night.
-
Made the Boboli thing - it's almost ready and I shall eat it as soon as the notes are posted, which will be momentarily in a moment.
-

Enjoy!
-
What do you know? A new day of posts has opened up, but today's day of posts isn't closed!
-
Well, I must be off. I have no real plans for tomorrow, just to stay home for work again...4th day in a row!
Have a good tomorrow, all!
