Well, you've read the notes, the notes said farewell and hello, and now it is time for you to post until the farewell and hello cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: FANTAST!
-
Topic of the Day: easy...paying off my mortgage! :D
-
CDs have been ordered!
-
Page is live.
-
I've also added the new listings to CastAlbums.org (https://castalbums.org/):
I Do! I Do! (https://castalbums.org/recordings/I-Do-I-Do-1996-Off-Broadway-Cast/3819#70812)
and

Today, I need to go into work and get some checks that need to be mailed and take them to the post office because our building is going to be closed again. Fortunately, I live close to my work, and there's a post office just a few blocks away, too, so it won't take very long at all.
-
Then, at some point today, I'll also go to a friend's open house birthday party. Her birthday is actually today! She and her husband live less than a couple of miles away, so it'll all be very level driving. I'll definitely be home long before midnight.
-
Have a very happy and safe New Year's Eve Day, everyone!! ;D
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I'm not sad to see 2021 go.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Thank God this year is nearly over. I'm hoping for three things this year:
1. No new cancer
2. hip replacement
3. the recording project comes through
-
It would be nice, too, if some work showed up or that damned property in Ohio finally sold after 15 years.
-
I'm doing little as possible today, but I have a carton from Chewy.com to unpack, and then there's whatever fresh hell waits for me in the mail room.
-
Today is the seventh day of Christmas, and here's another selection from Moonshine & Mistletoe:

-
I don't know if I'll live long enough to see a professional production of this show! Ten years ago I thought I'd be living off royalties from it.
-
DR TCB, the hell you are currently in has been my nightmare for some time. How soon will you be able to get home?
-
Good morning.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Still loving DR Elmore's Days of Christmas selections, and this is a particularly beautiful one.
-
It feels almost perverse, but all three of us here are delighted that
(1) We'll be having our standard New Year's Eve par-tay tonight, and
(2) No one's coming! :D
Kristi will be holding down the Zoom session with our usual suspects (that's her thing, anyway), I'll be popping in here every so often, we'll enjoy the snacks and watching our balls drop, and it will be a totally non-stressful time.
-

And yes, the Ohio property.
From your keyboard to the universe's ears, DR Elmore.
-
Good morning, all.
I feel that it is Friday, well and truly.
I like it when a day feels like itself.
-
It's a landmark day for 2021.
It's the Ultimo Finale in a way.
I have no plans, no goals, no bills to pay.
I have food in the cabinets, the refrigerator and in the freezer.
I am blessed beyond measure.
And yet, I am glad to be at the backside of 2021.
-
Nice slate of releases, BK.
-
I don't know if any of you have seen the Netflix series "Stranger Things".
I have recently started watching it and am almost at the end of Season 2.
Very weird.
-
A day or so ago, I saw (for the first time -- and last) the movie "Joker" with Joaquin Phoenix.
I nearly gave up watching it in the first five minutes. They felt it necessary to introduce the character's medical condition before giving us any context for it. I was very annoyed by it and was just about to move to another channel when the makers of the movie let me see that the character was not in control of his outrageous giggling.
From there, I was riveted by one thing. Phoenix's performance was astonishing. The film isn't all that great and goes on and on when it should have pulled back. But, Phoenix held me to the very end. I will never watch the film again, but my memories of the Joker will remain.
-
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
-
Hello to any and all guests who drop by.
-
TWO
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning DR JohnG! Happy finale day.
-
TOD
Traveling again.
-
Well. I made it to the grocery store and back without getting carjacked. Which is something, given what's been going on around here lately. 50 per day. Committed by 14-year olds with guns.
-
Now putting my feet up and enjoying a mug o' steaming hot chocolate.
-
Which is the way it should be.
-
So, like DR Ron Pulliam, my fridge and freezer are full of delightful foodstuffs.
-
I think I'll be making soup today, if there's any room left to store it away.
-
Yesterday's mail included a royalty check from my publisher. That will pay December's Spectrum bill, thank God.
-
I think I'll be making soup today, if there's any room left to store it away.
I have all the makings for chicken soup, but the freezer and fridge are full. That's a project for the weekend.
-
Thanks for that beautiful track, DR elmore3003.
-
Some books I am looking forward to in 2022:
Jeremy Denk on classical music
David Loud on Broadway music
Randy Rainbow's memoir
And
Larry Moore's memoir, if he ever gets it written.
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
Vibes for DR TCB.
-
I enjoy reading about everyone's activities! Such great folks here at HHW.
I would say I was as happy as a donkey with a blue ball - but it may be that not everyone watched the video.
-
The TOD is again another interesting one.
My answer for yesterday finally came to me. One New Year's Eve Day my friend Sabian Trout and I were driving down the street heading for the Phoenix Theatre. I was the stage manager and she was my assistant for a production of The Cemetery Club with a group of wonderful actresses.
A New Year's Eve do was planned to take place for the audience after the show including a band and champagne....and the theatre nabobs had decided that Sabian and I would be in charge while they went to their various celebrations.
As we were driving down the street at about 4 p.m. there on the side of the street was an old cabinet radio-phonograph in someone's junk pile. Both of us looked at it and then at each other.
I turned my Ford Escort around and we went back and got it.
The party was great - the audience had a wonderful time and the band was very tuneful...and the show that night was also good.
The End.
-
And the radio-phonograph spent many happy years at my house until it went to live with my sister Myrna.
It didn't have any guts so it was just for show....but it also made a nice lobby prop a couple of summers later when I directed The 1940's Radio Hour.
-
The Real End.
-
Nice story, DR Jrand71.
Perhaps you should write a memoir, too.
-
AND today we have a 11 a.m. appointment with the attorney and the folks who are buying the little house to get the paper work started.
AND my aunt and niece have decided they are renting a truck and will be picking up their stuff from the big house today at 1 p.m.
-
So hopefully I will be back sometime to answer today's TOD.
-
CDs ordered.

I neglected to say that we finally bought the car battery jumper that BK has. With three cars here, and given BK's experience with AAA, it made total sense and I'm glad we have it. However, either the voltage meter or something else is faulty, or I'm understanding something wrong.
When pressing the red button before charging it the first time, it read somewhere in the middle which I'd expect with it being new. Then I gave it an initial overnight charge. When I unplugged and checked it the next day, the needle only went into the low green so I plugged it back in for a few hours. Unplugging and checking it again, the needle now doesn't even move. But when it's plugged in, the "Charged" light is on.
So, question for BK: I'll read through the instructions again but it seems very straightforward. I'll also contact the company. But does it sound like I'm doing something wrong?
EDIT: I just checked it again after leaving it alone for a while and it jumped right up to 13 volts!

New Year’s Eve greetings! Today I’m making spaghetti sauce from scratch. We’ll pick up salads and breadsticks from the Olive Garden and have a feast between college football semifinals.
Go, Bearcats in the Cotton Bowl!
Go, Blue in the Orange Bowl!
-
Limoncello Raspberry Prosecco Cooler. Um... Yes, please!
Times three.

Three!

The day today is beautiful in Johnston SC.
It is also warmish - 66 degrees, but feels warmer.
Humidity is a bit high, but, given the rainstorms of the past couple of days, it's expected to be.
-
I made it to Academy to get a birthday present, then to Costco. I’m exhausted.
-
I have so much I need to do and so very little motivation to get any of it done.
It's a retired man's attitude, I guess.
-
I made it to Academy to get a birthday present, then to Costco. I’m exhausted.
CostCo and Sam's Club always exhaust me. Of course, I find that a bit exhilarating, as well. The exhausting part comes with the lengthy trip home. It takes me a half hour for each trip. Depending upon how much I buy, I can be pretty exhausted just unloading the car.
-
TOD - this has not been my favorite year, but the times we spent with Charlotte were definite bright spots.
-
Just saw on Facebook that one of my favorite Cincinnati restaurants, The Grande Finale, has closed after 46 years.
:'(
-
I didn’t need more jogging pants, but they were two for $20. So, according to Thinking, Fast and Slow, I am susceptible to discounts.

That’s sad.

DR John my library has The Diary of a Bookseller and I have added it to my wish list for future reading.

I'm not sad to see 2021 go.
True, but are you excited to see 2022?

Apparently there is also a Confessions of a Bookseller by the same author.

Oh! Sharon Rd. in Glendale. (DR Ginny's restaurant)
Nice area, if I'm remembering right. Is that the town that still has the gas lamps? Or somewhere nearby.
-
Surprisingly, this turned out to be a Benadryl day, with itchy, watery eyes and sneeze attacks galore this morning. It's been a couple of months since I've had one.
-

Yes, and I shudder to think what might happen at that corner. They’ll probably pave paradise and put up a parking lot.
-
In case anyone was thinking of going out to a supermarket or something: If you lived where I live right about now, you'd be waiting just to get into the parking lots, let alone finding a space.
(Speaking of parking lots.)
I was so glad to only be running out for something completely different.
-
I can report on gas prices. BJ's has been holding at $3.29 for a while. It had reached $3.38 or thereabouts back in November, but it dropped and has stayed put at this level.
-
I'm up, I'm up - orobably seven hours of sleep.
-
ChasSmith, mine has never gone all the way to the full green, just in the middle - it took many hours to do the initial charge, maybe four or five. Once that was done it went to the middle of the green and there it has stayed ever since and it's been months and many charges later, so this thing really holds without having to recharge it - I've never recharged it since that first time.
-
Thank God this year is nearly over. I'm hoping for three things this year:

Decades TV has a three-day Twilight Zone marathon going......

Martha & Teena have picked up their goods.....so we move on. Also met with the attorney and my nephew Zane and his wife Casey to get the paperwork started on the house.....it will be ready on Monday or Tuesday....

Betty White has died.
Just saw that.
I had a walk to my bank to deposit that royalty check. The block I used to walk in five minutes took me twenty. I took a taxi home.
-
What a life Betty White had!
-
Seventeen days short of making it to 100.
-
Thirty-five minutes into No Time to Die and haven't developed any interest in it whatsoever. Even with Jeffrey Wright.
-

Ah, thank you. I think we have finally attained a comfortable green stability here. Halfway up would be about that 13V level, and it sounds like that's where we want to be.
And I find it amazing that you can get so many restarts out of it before recharging it. Nice product!

Our market has a very large parking lot, still we are waiting until tomorrow to go.
-
Betty White has died.
This makes me very sad.
-
Seventeen days short of making it to 100.
I thought she would make it to 100.
-
When my grandfather died at 99 years of age I was shocked he didn't make it to 100. We always thought he would.
-
The work she did for animals alone made her one special lady.
-
He was not my biological grandfather, so no longevity genes to inherit.
-
Seventeen days short of making it to 100.
I thought she would make it to 100.
I think the world thought she would make it to 100. :-\
-
He was not my biological grandfather, so no longevity genes to inherit.
No genes by association?! Bah.
-
"Those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first makes mad."
I just dropped a bag of frozen peas from the freezer onto the floor so I got my grabber yo pick it up. It was the bag that was open and frozen pleas like little beads of glass rolled all over my kitchen floor. I vacuumed them all up with the dustbuster.
I think they are out to get me.
-
What a life Betty White had!
MSNBC is currently devoting a lot of time to her.
-
Well, I must be off. I have to get some checks from work and mail them because we're closed and these MUST be mailed today.
-
Fortunately, my work and the post office are close to each other, so driving won't be far or difficult.
-
Then, I'll go to a friend's birthday party, and then come home.
-
Pretty busy for a New Year's Eve day!
-
Until later!

Well, maybe not peas.
-
So, the final book total for 2021 is 140 books.
-
Onward!
-
Five!
-
It's rather strange going from Ben Whishaw in Perfume to his performance in No Time to Die.
-
He was not my biological grandfather, so no longevity genes to inherit.
No genes by association?! Bah.
Nope. His daughter survived the family curse on her mother's side and made it to 91. Sadly her daughter, and both half sisters died young from the family curse.
-
The only thing of real interest in No Time to Die is coming up - Ana da Armas.
-
Back from the Gelson's run and have turkey sandwiches for today and faux stroganoff for tomorrow. About to eat the turkey sandwiches.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
We lost three Mary Tyler Moore Show treasures this year: Cloris Leachman, Ed Asner and Betty White.
-
The only thing of real interest in No Time to Die is coming up - Ana da Armas.
True. The only light and life in the movie so far.
-
The TOD is easy.
After waiting 14 months finally playing with our grandchild.
After 16 months holding both sons.
-
Getting vaccinated and taking the trip through Washington, Idaho, and Montana was very nice.
-
I hear they're casting for Once Upon a Mattress at DR elmore3003's place.
-
Finding out I didn't have the family curse made me happy. I truly was concerned I had it.
-

:(
-
bk, have you checked out licorice.com? They're supposed to have 60 varieties.
-
Two friends who were at Christmas dinner have tested positive for covid. I'm definitely going out with my mask tonight.
-
Finished food, listening to more Michael Torke - I really enjoyed Color Music, loved the album Being, but now listening the album Five and if the first selection is anything to go by this will go into the hated it pile.
-
I will not be watching any of the No Time to Die extras.
-
Did we need the final frame of the movie that tells us “James Bond will return”? Really?
-
I'm not sad to see 2021 go.
AMEN!
-
Thank God this year is nearly over. I'm hoping for three things this year:

My dear friend, I wish you these three, and a dozen more!

DR TCB, the hell you are currently in has been my nightmare for some time. How soon will you be able to get home?
I will know more after next week’s follow-up appointment.

I’m thinking that this is one of those old-fashion NYE’s at HHW, where everybody drops by throughout the day and Eve.

COPING VIBES FOR DR TCB!
Thank you, Jane.
-
I have had a strangely industrious afternoon, of sorts.
I started off by watching "Don't Look Up" which I thought very very good. I read a bit about it and all the critical theories as to what it represents and how heavy-handed some of the critics thought the director was being. But...it spoke volumes to me.
As if that weren't quite enough, I took on "The Power of the Dog". Holy smokes! Benedict Cumberbatch is one hell of a great actor. It was very intense.
Now, I am re-watching season one of "Manifest".
But I took this break to check in, say "View, Halloo" and find out what everyone is talking about.
-
I am thinking of having a hot chocolate.
I bought some hot chocolate bombs through Sam's Club online, and they arrived today.
Have never had a hot chocolate bomb. I hope I enjoy it.
-
People here have already started shooting fireworks and it is only past 7 p.m.
Oh, well.
-
Good evening!
-
Two friends who were at Christmas dinner have tested positive for covid. I'm definitely going out with my mask tonight.
Good luck you stay well.
-
Did anyone see the story of the woman who became ill while on a plane. She had a covid test with her, went into the bathroom and used the test. After testing positive she spent the next 5 hours in the plane bathroom isolating.
The crew were very appreciative and attentive. They even sent her goodies to her hotel room while she was in quarantine.
-
Did we need the final frame of the movie that tells us “James Bond will return”? Really?

Did they say who is returning as Bond?

-
Betty White’s death was the first new story to knock CoVid off the top news story. Already a flower tribute going up on her “star.”

I have read that Henry Cavill "may" be the next Bond.

The bombs came in a pack of eight. Four regular, two Mint and two Caramel.
I had a regular. You pour six ounces of hot milk over a bomb in a cup. You stir. The outer shell of the bomb is chocolate and there are miniature marshmallows insiide.
It was very tasty.
-
DR Ron have you read The Power of the Dog?
No, but I understand the ending in the book is more specific than in the movie...which "suggests" what happened rather than outright states it.

Interesting.

I was fascinated by Cumberbatch's performance. I have known people like the character he portrayed, sorry to say.

Hmmm, I don't think I would want the mint one. It sounds good. Knowing me I might need to add extra chocolate.
-
I had seen advertised "foot bombs". They are frightfullyl pricy for what you do with them.
You do not drink them, of course. You put one into a container of very warm water and soak your feet in the water. It sounds nice, but...oh, well.
-
DR Ron have you read The Power of the Dog?
No, but I understand the ending in the book is more specific than in the movie...which "suggests" what happened rather than outright states it.
Good for them making it a definite ending. I looked up the book and the reviews are great. I also read the novel is semi-autobiographical.

I was disconcerted by so little milk. I think I will likely use two bombs in 12 ounces of milk next time.

I am familiar with bath bombs as we gifted some for the birthday of a seven year old.

My friend Betsy made some beautiful cocoa bombs to take to Seattle and got some raised eyebrows from TSA when she used the B word.

Seven.

It is still early, I suppose, but those local fireworks keep going off randomly.
-
Been watching Freud, the John Huston film. And now - PARTAY!
-
Let's have some merriment and mirth and laughter and legs.
-
Let's paint the town red.
-
Let's do the Hully Gully!
-
Let's LIMBO!
-
Let's have some mint frappes.
-
Some lime rickeys.
-
Some cherry phosphates.
-
Tell me more about the legs.
-
;D
-
The DH just beat me at Cribbage by only two points. It was close!
-
My friend Betsy made some beautiful cocoa bombs to take to Seattle and got some raised eyebrows from TSA when she used the B word.
:))
-
This is shaping up to be a very painful football night for me.
-
Drat!
-
I was hoping to stay awake for a potential HHW zoom, but I don't think I'm going to make it.
-
This is shaping up to be a very painful football night for me.
Neighbors in the next building were flying two rather large flags this morning. One was for Arizona State, the other was green. I couldn't tell what was on it. Keith thought it looked like the trojan helmet. Do you have any idea what is was? By the afternoon when we were walking & I could have gotten a photo the flags were down.
-
Back from the Gelson's run and have turkey sandwiches for today and faux stroganoff for tomorrow. About to eat the turkey sandwiches.
What is faux stroganoff?
-
Made with turkey instead of beef?
-
:)
Elmore’s bedroom.
-
I was hoping to stay awake for a potential HHW zoom, but I don't think I'm going to make it.
What on earth is going on with you? I am on east coast time and it's only 9:37 p.m. It must be an hour earlier where you are??
-
I have just finished watching episode four of the first season of "Manifest". While I watched it when it first aired, I am getting so much more out of it this time around.
-
Let's do the Hully Gully!
I'd love to do the Hokey Pokey. I wonder if DR TCB can put his left foot in...and shake anything all about.
-
How can five "guests" be viewing and not want to participate? Could they be members who haven't logged in?
-

Sounds like a Michigan State Spartan flag, DR Jane. They won the Peach Bowl last night with a very exciting finish.
-
Just asking.
And wondering.
-
Curious, I guess,
-
Eight
-
It is currently 19 degrees in Tacoma at 6:30 p.m.
-
Let's have some merriment and mirth and laughter and legs.
Let’s not bring up legs.
-
Faux stroganoff is with chicken rather than beef. It's very good.
-
But so far, it's just Marshall coming tomorrow and possibly Robert. Doug has a matinee for his silly show.
-

Thanks. We never saw any writing on it. The Arizona flag is the color of USC which confused us at first. Did Arizona play against Michigan?
-

Close guess.
-
DR Ron Pulliam - I am usually in bed by 8:30pm Central. But I'm usually up at 4am.
-
It's actually "fauxgenoff." ;)
-
I wonder if the colder weather has any impact on the Oregon fires. Help or hindrance? It must make it tougher for those battling said fires.
-
Waiting for snacks to come out of the oven.
-
That sounds delightful.
-
Ginny, Keith said yes, that is the flag we saw.
-
While wearing a fez.
Yes, a fez. The very one you see before you now.
-
<———- That one.
-
Something is not agreeing with my stomach. I do hope the turkey was okay - certainly it can't be the onion rolls.
-
That's all I've eaten all day.
-
Lots of folks here - how lovely!
-
Lots of lurkers, too - how lovely.
-
Pigs in blankets coming up. I love ‘em, but I’ve learned not to eat too many.
-
A LULL!
-
I was hoping to stay awake for a potential HHW zoom, but I don't think I'm going to make it.
What on earth is going on with you? I am on east coast time and it's only 9:37 p.m. It must be an hour earlier where you are??
Uh, I'm usually in bed before 9:37.
-
Having a Diet Coke.
-
Trying to calm my tummy down.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
Less than two hours until the East Coast drops their balls.
-
This is shaping up to be a very painful football night for me.

Michigan State beat Pittsburgh last night in the Peach Bowl.
Georgia is mopping the Orange Bowl floor with Michigan right now.
I don’t know about Arizona.
-
And then three hours until we West Coasters drop our balls.
-
I'm gonna try and be in bed by one.
-
We'll see if THAT happens.
-
Well, I just left my friend's birthday/New Year's Eve party, and now am headed to my mom's for a bit.
-
I'll shower prior to contemplation.
-
Oh, look! It's Page NINE!! :D
-
So that will be helpful in getting to bed by one.
-
I'll definitely be home before midnight.
-
I should hope you would be.
-
Just got an e-mail - you know, one of those group things to everyone and their mother - from an actress I worked with several years ago. Want to know what the e-mail header was? Farewell 2021! Hello 2022! We are INFLUENCERS.
-
Welcome fifty-four GUESTS!
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Is it time to party yet?
I'm masked up and ready to boogie.
-
I am eating a piece of apple pie a la mode.
-
This is shaping up to be a very painful football night for me.

I'm not sad to see 2021 go.
A sentiment I've heard repeated by many. Add me to the list.
-
Well, Michigan scored a touchdown - too little, too late.
-
Today is the seventh day of Christmas, and here's another selection from Moonshine & Mistletoe:
https://soundcloud.com/user5614139/08-cherry-tree-carol
I've enjoyed listening to these pieces.
-
Well. I made it to the grocery store and back without getting carjacked. Which is something, given what's been going on around here lately. 50 per day. Committed by 14-year olds with guns.
Ugh. How awful. Glad your trip was without incident.
-
AND today we have a 11 a.m. appointment with the attorney and the folks who are buying the little house to get the paper work started.
AND my aunt and niece have decided they are renting a truck and will be picking up their stuff from the big house today at 1 p.m.
Will you be done with Aunt and Niece then?
-
I didn’t need more jogging pants, but they were two for $20. So, according to Thinking, Fast and Slow, I am susceptible to discounts.
You've read THINKING, FAST AND SLOW? It was recommended to me recently, but I haven't read it. How did you like it?
-
I'm here.
-
I'm still here.
-
I will be here.
-
Just wishing I was feeling better - very logy from too little sleep and tummy is weird.
-
Listening to Previn's 60s recording of Scheherazade. Not the best, but pretty good.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Are we havin' a partay?
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone? Of course, we still have forty-five minutes until the first set of balls drop.
-
I'd intended to have a little salad tonight for my snack, but I think I'll forego that.
-
Betty White has died.
Just saw that.
I had a walk to my bank to deposit that royalty check. The block I used to walk in five minutes took me twenty. I took a taxi home.
There should be some way you can do this electronically at home. Anyone know?
-
What am I, don't a monologue?
-
I wonder if Jeanne removes her mask to eat the pie.
-
Well, maybe not peas.
Relieved to hear it!
I've never heard of vicious vegetables.
-
It's rather strange going from Ben Whishaw in Perfume to his performance in No Time to Die.
I haven't seen those films, but I do like Ben Whishaw. A fine actor.
-
Two friends who were at Christmas dinner have tested positive for covid. I'm definitely going out with my mask tonight.
Sorry to hear about your friends.
Vibes you stay healthy and negative.
-
Pomegranate grapefruit paloma? Yes, please.
They look beautiful.
-
I was fascinated by Cumberbatch's performance. I have known people like the character he portrayed, sorry to say.
It was an incredible performance.
-
I had seen advertised "foot bombs". They are frightfullyl pricy for what you do with them.
You do not drink them, of course. You put one into a container of very warm water and soak your feet in the water. It sounds nice, but...oh, well.
Can your feet taste the chocolate? ;)
-
I wonder if Jeanne removes her mask to eat the pie.
I caught that and was about to edit it. ;D
Yes, I took my mask off to eat the pie. ;)
-
Well, Michigan scored a touchdown - too little, too late.
Too bad.
-
Today's good news: I fell asleep quickly and slept through the night. 7.75 hours! Yay!
I've been trying a new sleep product. It helped from the start with falling asleep quickly and sleeping better than usual, but not sleeping long enough. I'd wake up at 5 am -- not very useful. It says to take 1-2 tablets 30-60 minutes before bed and an optional 1-2 just before bed. Last night I took one and one. I would love to sleep well consistently.
-
Much foodstuff has been consumed, along with some liquid cheer.
Balls drop in fifteen.
-
The product is Similasan's Sleep and Dream. (No, I didn't dream.)
-
I believe I will last to about midnight:fifteen. Time for a good (I hope) sleep.
-
There will be lots of good snack foods left over for tomorrow.
-
Today's bad news: my car wouldn't start. A couple days ago my next-door neighbor knocked on my door at an ungodly hour of the morning to tell me that my car was beeping and the lights were all flashing. I remotely unlocked, then relocked it, and all seemed well. But it is not. It's been raining heavily and I thought I'd mention it when I take it in for service, as it's due anyway. Sigh. It looks like that'll be my Monday task. The handyman's coming by then, too, and the rest of the week is full of appointments.
-
I shall take a little break.
-
Good luck with the car, DR Jeanne!
-
EIGHT.
We are at EIGHT.
-
And counting.
-

No other right-coasters?
We have the only REAL New Year's, you know.
-
DR Ron Pulliam - I am usually in bed by 8:30pm Central. But I'm usually up at 4am.
My goodness. Early bird special, eh?
-
And the biggest dropping balls.
-
Or so I've heard.
-
No other right-coasters?
We have the only REAL New Year's, you know.
Oh, yes. South Carolina is on the right coast.
-
Sorry to party-poop, but I can barely keep my eyes ope. It is 11:57 A.M. EST.
-
Two minutes to East Coast ball drop.
-
Thinking about what other music to listen to.
-
And whether I should chance a snack - tummy's a bit better right now.
-
One minute to 2022 on the Coast of East.
-
Here it comes.
-
But a moment.
-
HAPPY NEW YEAR EAST COAST!
-
HAPPY NEW YEAR
-
Happy New Year - and, Good Night!
-
HAPPY NEW YEAR, everyone!
-
A fine New Year's par-tay.
And I was in the room where it happened.
-
The fez did a fine job.
-
And now three hours till the balls drop here - hopefully the partay will continue in some form until then!
-
Listening to Previn do Rachmaninoff piano concertos - can't remember who the pianist is but they're wonderful
-
I stumbled across a program on PBS that I didn’t know about. UNITED IN SONG: CELEBRATING THE AMERICAN DREAM, it is hosted by Chita Rivera and features a whole slew of artists from Judy Collins to Midori. Very nice.
-
Wow, the building is deserted (or desserted).
-
You drop one big ball and the place empties out.
-
I know, right?
-
In days of old, the East Coasters would occasionally stick around.
-
But we're here.
-
Let's see how many GUESTS there are.
-
Perhaps some survivors of the ball drop will reassemble around Left Coast midnight.
-
Welcome forty-seven GUESTS. Who ARE you people? Come on in, that water's fine.
-
We need more left coasters, or less Phase 10 players. 😜
-
I had the other Boboli small pizza crust thing - no pepperoni, just cheese and sauce - hit the spot perfectly.
-
Phase 10 - I don't even know what it is.
-
I know what PAGE ten is and we've surpassed it.
-
And I feel we'll surpass page eleven, too.
-
I feel it strongly.
-
I think I'll shower in thirty minutes, then do the contemplation thing - seems like I JUST did it - this year went very quickly. Then I'll pop the champagne and then it's just the waiting game.
-
Come on in, the champagne is fine!
-
Only one hundred and one more posts until I achieve a new plateau or a new plateau achieves me.
-
And now only 100 posts.
-
Meanwhile, I feel strongly we'll be off this page soon.
-
Really soon.
-
Sooner than soon.
-
And there you have it.
-
So it is written, so it shall be done.
-
HAPPY NEW YEAR 🥂
-
Happy New Year, Jane! Do you play Phase 10?
-
Paulo Szot has been on this PBS program. He is such a hottie.
-
Time to shower away 2021.
-
Then contemplation, then I'll be back to post up a storm. Meanwhile, get me off this Geraldine page.
-
Time to shower away 2021.
I hope it works.
-
Then contemplation, then I'll be back to post up a storm. Meanwhile, get me off this Geraldine page.
I can’t, the page has been rip torn.
-
Happy New Year everyone, wishing you all. Health and joy
-
Good luck with the car, DR Jeanne!
Thanks, Chas!
-
Let's do the Hully Gully!
I'd love to do the Hokey Pokey. I wonder if DR TCB can put his left foot in...and shake anything all about.
We did the Twist at the first party. And the Boot-Scootin’ Boogie.
-
Happy New Year!
-
I have a lot of posts to catch up on.
-
It is currently 19 degrees in Tacoma at 6:30 p.m.
It’s still in the 70s tonight.
-
John G has been very festive.
-
Nice to see Vixmom. How are you doing?
-
I'm fading, but first I want to wish you all the very best for the coming year!
-
A speedy recovery for TCB and back to his home and kitties.
-
Happy New Year everyone, wishing you all. Health and joy
Happy New Year, vixmom.
-
Continued progress for DR Ginny's DH Richard.
-

You've read THINKING, FAST AND SLOW? It was recommended to me recently, but I haven't read it. How did you like it?
It’s very long. I’m only halfway through.
-
Vibes of all kinds to Elmore -- physical, emotional, and monetary.
-
John G has been very festive.
I was festive in a mask. The only one.
-

But worthwhile?

Thanks, Jeanne.
-
John G has been very festive.
I was festive in a mask. The only one.
At least you were protected.
-
Happy New Year, John G.
-
TCB, are you doing any PT or was the horrible therapist too off-putting?
-

Yes. There’s a lot to absorb. It will help with my work.
-
Thirteen!
-
John G has been very festive.
I was festive in a mask. The only one.
At least you were protected.
AND you were wearing a mask.
-
The fireworks are still going on, almost one hour after midnight.
-
The house next door to the second party filled the area with smoke. They set off a great many. And they were beautiful.
-
There were a few fireworks here a while ago, but it's very quiet now. That will probably change in an hour.
-
Happy New Year, John G.
Happy New Year, Tom. Health and happiness be yours in 2022.
-
Good night, everyone.
-
TCB, are you doing any PT or was the horrible therapist too off-putting?
I am doing exercises at home and will have PT when I return home.
-
Happy New Year, John G.
Happy New Year, Tom. Health and happiness be yours in 2022.
And to you, my friend.
-
Good night, everyone.
Good night, Jeanne. HNY!
-
Good night, everyone.
Good night, Jeanne. Happy New Year!
-
I am fading.
-
Good night, all.
-
Peace, kindness and joy to all.
-
Sorry to hear about Jeanne's battery issue - seems like it's catching.
-
Showered, contemplated, and here I am until the balls drop.
-
I'm thinking we might just get to page fourteen.
-
I'm thinking that.
-
That I'm thinking.
-
I'm thinking whilst listening to Previn do the Khatchaturian piano concerto. No flexatone.
-
And couldn't we all use a little flexatone right about now?
-
I know I could.
-
Happy New Year, Jane! Do you play Phase 10?
;D. I do not.
-
Welcome forty-six GUESTS.
-
Happy New Year Tom.
-
We're havin' a bash.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
Anyone seen page fourteen?
-
I know it's around here somewhere.
-
Having a Sparkling Ice.
-
And fourteen. Can we get to fifteen?
-
A speedy recovery for TCB and back to his home and kitties.
DITTO!
-
Think I'll pop open the champagne so that it's ready to go.
-
To my surprise I just finished reading one more book for the year.
-
Champagne has been opened and poured and the glass is in the refrigerator so it stays cold.
-
TCB, are you doing any PT or was the horrible therapist too off-putting?
I am doing exercises at home and will have PT when I return home.
I am glad you have some exercises you can do at home.
-
I'm pretty sure I read at least two books this year - non-fiction, of course.
-
About forty-three minutes until our balls drop.
-
That is very important information.
-
Black Cherry is the Sparkling Ice flavor, in cast you were wondering and I know you were.
-
Happy New Year Tom.
Thanks, Jane.
-
Just about twenty-five minutes to balls dropping.
-
Getting exciting around here.
-
Seventy more posts until I achieve a new plateau - can I do it tonight?
-
George did promise he'd be home to ring in the New Year.
-
DR Jeanne do you have AAA?
Good luck with your car.
-
I'll definitely be home before midnight.
I'm home! And it's before midnight!
-
Wow...14 pages! I gotta lotta ketchuping to do! ;D
-
I have a lonely Sparkling Ice in my frig at home. I wish I was home to drink it with the kitties.
-
I went to my mom's after I left my friend's birthday/NYE party and we played four, count 'em, FOUR games of Phase 10.
-
I won only one of the four games. ::)
-
My mom was very happy that she won three of them.
-
George did promise he'd be home to ring in the New Year.
And I has arrived!
-
I stumbled across a program on PBS that I didn’t know about. UNITED IN SONG: CELEBRATING THE AMERICAN DREAM, it is hosted by Chita Rivera and features a whole slew of artists from Judy Collins to Midori. Very nice.
I set my DVR to record that. :)
-
I don't know how long it'll be available, but it can be streamed on PBS's website here:
https://www.pbs.org/video/united-in-song-celebrating-the-american-dream-ji03ts/ (https://www.pbs.org/video/united-in-song-celebrating-the-american-dream-ji03ts/)
-
I have a lonely Sparkling Ice in my frig at home. I wish I was home to drink it with the kitties.
Sending a New Year hug.
-
Now that DR George has arrived I shall say....
-
We need more left coasters, or less Phase 10 players. 😜
How rude! >:(
-
;)
-
Happy New Year and goodnight.
-
I will return tomorrow.
-
PAGE 15 DANCE!!
-
Fifteen minutes to 2022 West Coast style.
-
Tick, tick -
-
Page fifteen! Been a long time since we did THAT.
-
A long time
-
Since we did THAT.
-
Very exciting.
-
Previn is now doing the Shostakovich eighth - excellent performance - Previn is really good with Shostakovich because the music is so film like.
-
Welcome thirty-two GUESTS!
-
Let's ring in the New Year.
-
Phase 10 - I don't even know what it is.
It's a fun card game for two to six players. It's very similar to gin rummy, but the Phase 10 deck has some wild cards and some skip cards, so there are other ways of playing that gin rummy doesn't have.
-
What did I have that I don't have?
-
And I feel we'll surpass page eleven, too.
You weren't wrong, BK!
-
Ten minutes to 2022!
-
Anyone for page sixteen?
-
I'm game.
-
If I'm game does that mean I'm a hen or something?
-
Fifty-something more posts until a new achievement.
-
Puuuuush.
-
Nine minutes until 2022!
-
Only one hundred and one more posts until I achieve a new plateau or a new plateau achieves me.
PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSH!!!
-
I have a lonely Sparkling Ice in my frig at home. I wish I was home to drink it with the kitties.
Sending a New Year hug.
Thanks, I am getting a little down.
-
Eight minutes until 2022!
-
No getting down - love and light in abundance!
-
Paulo Szot has been on this PBS program. He is such a hottie.
I totally agree...about him being such a hottie! ;D
-
We don't need no stinking down.
-
Or badges.
-
I'm feeling the page sixteen vibe.
-
Seven minutes to 2022!
-
Then contemplation, then I'll be back to post up a storm. Meanwhile, get me off this Geraldine page.
I can’t, the page has been rip torn.
:))
-
See?
-
Anyone for page seventeen?
-
We've got time.
-
It can be done.
-
Six minutes to 2022!
-
I will return tomorrow.
Tick, tick -
Boom!
-
Shostakovich is being VERY dramatic.
-
VERY dramatic.
-
Five minutes to 2022!
-
I keep pushing the wrong key for the exclamation and getting this ~
-
I don't know what this is.
-
And I don't want to know.
-
Happy New Year, Jane! Do you play Phase 10?
;D. I do not.
You should check it out. It's fun...even with only two people.
-
Four minutes to 2022!
-
VERY exciting.
-
Can we get to seventeen?
-
I feel we can.
-
If we all pitch in and pretend we're playing Phase 10.
-
I'm trying.
-
Three minutes to 2022!
-
Three minutes and counting.
-
I'm counting.
-
I really am.
-
Hello?
-
HELLO?
-
Keep up.
-
Upkeep.
-
Two minutes to 2022. I'll get the glass of champagne out now.
-
HELLO?
-
Seventeen, damn it.
-
That's what I'M talkin' about.
-
One minute to 2022!
-
Exciting!
-
And here we go!
-
Go we here!
-
Almost!
-
Close.
-
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
-
2022!
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
Someone is shooting off fireworks.
-
I believe that's illegal.
-
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
-
Champagne sip has been had and now I'm completely drunk.
-
Drunk on 2022.
-
Feeling no pain.
-
Feeling my oats.
-
My oats are feeling me.
-
And I LIKE it.
-
I see hope for page eighteen.
-
A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!! :D
-
I do, but George seems to have up and disappeared just when he should be here wishing everyone a Happy New Year!
-
Finally.
-
Gratuitous Post #505!!
-
Five hundred postings - haven't done that for a VERY long time.
-
Let's do that every day.
-
Shostakovich has calmed down.
-
I'm liquored up from my sip of champagne.
-
Liquored up, I tell you.
-
Fireworks are going off around here, but it's illegal within the Tumwater city limits. :o
-
Eighteen, baby, that's what I'M talkin' about.

Wait just a darned minute - George, I achieved a new plateau - go immortalize it!
-
I didn't know, I really didn't.
-
George, get to work.
-
Got it!
-
We must immortalize.
-
Someone is shooting off LOUD fireworks - not good for the dogs, you know.
-
I wonder if there's any way we'll get to page nineteen, a very good number.
-
It would be fun.
-
Fun is what it would be.
-
I'm waiting to be immortalized.
-
Here it is!
-
Waiting.
-
Over 114,000 postings! I'd say that qualifies me for the loony bin.
-
I'm really feeling the nineteen vibe so let's get there and then I'll post the notes.
-
Everyone pitch in.
-
I was also immortalizing the moment it turned to 2022 from the official government website, https://time.gov/:
-
Pitch in I say and I say pitch in.
-
If you don't pitch in, Shostakovich will not be happy.
-
I think we can, I think we can...
-
Less than 10 posts to go!
-
I think we're in the ballpark.
-
We can do it!
-
I know we can.
-
We are strong.
-
So close!!
-
Let's do that every day.
He is drunk!
-
We are invincible. We are hainsies, hear us roar!
-
Drunk as a skunk or a hunk.
-
PAGE 19!!
-
And there it is - page NINETEEN!
-
New notes going up right now.
-
Who'da thunk it??
-
What...you don't want to try to make it to post #555?? ;)
-
Changing the topic so post quickly.
-
Ooh, post 555 would be fun.
-
Not that far away, actually.
-
Perhaps.
-
It would be fun to have all fives.
-
Then we could high five.
-
Let's get going!
-
We're almost there!
-
One more...
-
Gratuitous Post #555!! :D
