And so what, Ron? And your point is?
And a morning bun.
I must stir. But it’s too cold for that.
I haven’t had any vertigo spells in a few days now.
Big story on J.D. Vance in the Washington Post Magazine, if anybody cares. I don’t anymore.

Access-a-Ride booked for tomorrow night at 6:45. I won't be home before 10.

Just checking: Yesterday you were saying 6:40 pm. That's the ride time, then?
Last night, for my viewing pleasure, I watched Stanley Kubrick's The Killing. Most excellent. I now must watch his Killer's Kiss, which I don't believe I've ever seen, from the prior year.
I would also very much like to believe that I'm finally done conflating the titles The Killing, Killer's Kiss, and The Killers (both versions). Wouldn't that be nice?
My friend Joe, who is one of our Dublin recording production team, has the Delta variant of Covid, and I am worried about him. Please send vibes.
I have been triple vaccinated, wear a mask everywhere I go including work and I still got Covid. Right now it’s day seven and I’ve been holed up in my bedroom. Luckily I have family visiting and they didn’t get it for me. I’ve been bringing my meals to the door. They also been walking my dog. A lot of people out there I don’t have people to help them out. A matter how careful you can be, you can still catch it. Everyone just be careful out there.
The News!
When I watch The News all I can think of is NETWORK.
Each news service broadcasts what it thinks its viewers want to hear - and the viewers all flock to the channels that support their views no matter how ridiculous or unlikely those may be.
You can listen to one news program talking about Omicron and then turn to another news program that is saying just the OPPOSITE. It is like an alternate universe.....but you can almost predict exactly what each news service and each "anchor" will say.
:)
I hope you mean black eyed peas. That's what you said you had a taste for the other day, and we had too many cans here.
The fact that there are NO consequences for misleading people with non facts or even completely knowingly wrong reporting particularly ON PURPOSE is shocking.
This morning, I must call the allergy clinic to which I have been referred by the VA's Community Care branch. I looked up the clinic online only to find that it does not seem to be where the VA thinks it is. That is because the clinic appears to have moved from Edgefield to North Augusta at some point in the past.
This is all right, I guess, but it does add about ten minutes more travel time to my impending visit. And the traffic that trip involves.
Traffic is obviously unavoidable even when one lives in a low-key backwater town.

I've been trying to not get infected.
I was not happy to discover that one of the ceiling guys was totally unvaccinated and the other was due for a booster. In my opinion, inside workers should be required by the company to be vaccinated. Roofers -- I don't care so much; they stay outside.
The unvaccinated one wore a bandana the second and third days; the vaccinated one didn't wear a mask at all.
I really wanted the ceiling fixed, so I let it go. I'm triple vaccinated, so I figured if I got sick it would be mild.
Sending vibes of comfort for DR John, and healing vibes for his mother.

I stopped at CVS while on my walk today to pick up some KN95 masks. They wanted $100 for a pack of 5.

The amount of spam email coming to my Gmail account was huge throughout 2021. A day or two after Christmas it dropped from maybe a hundred spam emails per day to single digits.
I've seen that happen before, but not like this. Of course it'll build up again. But it's almost as though a major worldwide purveyor of it got shut down and sent to Hell. (Wouldn't that be nice?) :)
I think I'm in the clear for now, Jane. The last time they were here was Thursday, and I'd be showing symptoms by now.

Went out this afternoon to fill one of the gas cans, to ensure that there's plenty for the sn*wblower (I almost typed something else) on Friday.

I ordered Kn95s from Amazon. Waiting for delivery. It’s now two days late.
If life gives you lemons, seek out someone with a paper cut.
I had a moment this afternoon during which i grievously missed my mom.
These moments don't happen often, but when they do, it's almost as bad as when she first passed.

It was a relatively low price. Something like $30 for 50.

How much did yours cost?
Futzed and finessed - not as huge as yesterday, thankfully - made a couple of nice and significant additions, smoothed out stuff, and then wrote two new pages. Lunch was Kluckin' Chicken - their good sandwich and fries - excellent. I'm gonna shave now, write another three or four pages or however many I can. Then I'll go to the mail place to pick up some packages, then mosey on over to see a play reading at the Group Rep.
I have found a new app for my iPhone. It is called "Whisk". It is a recipes app and it not only offers loads of great recipes, it allows you to add recipes you find online that you want to keep.
I learned about it on my local news. It's considered an "App of the Year", and it's free for iPhone and smartphone users.

There's a wonderful Texas swing group called Asleep at the Wheel, and they've apparently been making music for 50 years now. I got their latest, Half a Hundred Years, from the library today, and it has a wonderful Irving Berlin song, Marie, that they perform with Willie Nelson. Nelson's recorded it before, and it's just beautiful.

Writing vibes. BTW, I had to file a complaint with PayPal today because I haven't received the new book yet.
You got a good price, DR John G. I ordered from 3 different manufacturers, and they were approximately $45 for a pack of 20, or, in one case, 40.
Is there any information on the longevity of these N95 masks? I assume they're supposed to be disposable after one use?
I have to get a Hep B vaccine, and I have to use CVS because of insurance. Well, you have to schedule a vaccine shot in advance online, but you can’t schedule a Hep B shot, because it’s not an option. So, after waiting 20 minutes for a human to answer, I was told I could get the shot I needed, but to just lie on the form.
Oy.
Oh no DR John. Can the person taking her to her appointments go in with her and advocate for your mother?

We think we have found someone.
I meant to ask the group, especially Elmore and ChasSmith, if they had ever seen the movie Blue/Bleu with Juliette Binoche as a composer. There are some scenes in which she is orchestrating her music, and she hears lines with percussion, without, with flute and full orchestra or only with flute, etc. In a way, it seemed like Ann Southern writing a song lyric in a second. On another level, it was fairly exciting. I was wondering what people thought of it.
Back from a horrendously awful new play - what we all need right now, an angst-ridden incest play.
