Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both late and late, and now it is time for you to post until the late, late cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MERRYMAKING!
-
Twelve or thirteen pages so far. Must do at least another two, but hopefully three or four.
-
Seventeen pages and I am ready for bed!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Today is the twelfth day of Christmas, and tonight is the Feast of Twelfth Night, making me want to drag out my favorite Shakespeare comedy and watch it.
https://soundcloud.com/user5614139/the-twelve-days-of-christmas
-
This morning I have my first day of radiation tratments, and it's a really lousy day to be out and about: rain, possibly snow, and I am already leery about Access-a-Ride.
-
DR JohnG, I have never seen Blue/Bleu. Sorry I am no help.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Thinking of you today especially, DR elmore3003.
-
There are some new dog breeds afoot.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Sleepless night. Reading some absurdist novel didn’t even help put me to sleep.
-
It was either too warm or too cold, which I also didn’t like. Today it will get up to 77 degrees.
-
I hope I don’t fall asleep at the dentist.
-
I loved the new dog breeds, DR singdaw!
-
I finished kitty cleanup, made the bed, and took the trash to the basement. I'm going to lie down for a bit to rest my legs before I need to get ready to step out.
-
I am most amused by the dog mashups.
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE. I am very glad you are going in the DAY time and not the DARK TIME.
-
Vibes for DR MICHAEL.
Vibes for DR LAURA.
Vibes for DR JOHN G & his mother.
-
Angst ridden incest plays really do get a bad rap.
-
Yesterday we met with the appraiser again, and on Monday they will be moving everything to their place of business for a online auction.
The price was right - the idea of everything being OUT of the house and the the payoff split was fair....SO....hopefully Monday we will be saying good bye to the rest of the things.
I will post a link to the auction so that any dear reader who is interested can look at the priceless heirlooms I have been moving around and stepping over for the last month.
-
Snow and C O L D weather is projected for us tomorrow.
It's not too bad today - we have to go to the bank at 11 a.m. to sign some more papers to get a couple of ANNUITIES cashed in and the money put into the estate.....which I thought we had done.
And I'm going to deposit some additional $$ from relatives who bought some stuff.....and the fifty cent pieces which are each worth......fifty cents.
-
Good morning.
-
Vibes for DR MICHAEL.
Vibes for DR LAURA.
Vibes for DR JOHN G & his mother.
Thank you for the vibes, JRand. I'm fine, so I'll pass them on to Elmore, TCB, John G. and his mother, and Elmore's friend. And anyone else who needs them that I forgot to name.
-
I'm so glad my mother decluttered her house about five years before she passed. There was still a lot of stuff, but most of it was things she used.
My MIL's house, on the other hand ...
-
I did something last week that I would have scolded my husband for if he had done it: I bought a turkey. They were 59 cents per pound. I couldn't pass that up.
-
So today I'll be roasting a turkey. I have some cornbread in the oven now. I tore up a bunch of the leftover soup bread bowls. I'll use those both in the stuffing.
-
Good morning, good day!
How are you this beautiful day?
-
Which goes INSIDE the turkey.
-
Sadly, I won't have my turkey chef here today. I will have to do it all myself.
-
My sincerest thanks to those who sent hugs yesterday. I hesitated about sharing that, but felt you would understand.
That said....

-
Now, enough mushy stuff.
I have a telephonic doctor's call in about half an hour. It's routine, but I must sit here calmly and have all my ducks in a row.
Those ducks are blood pressure and blood sugar records. Paper records, not vinyl.
-
I'm ready to step out and waiting to hear from Access-a-Ride.
-
Hugs, Elmore. It's a relief to get this underway. I hope all goes well. And that your ride is on time.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Access-a-Ride and good treatment vibes for DR Elmore!
-
Oy! Two hours before my appointment and 45 minutes before my pickup time and Access-a-Ride is here.
Damn.
-
Hugs, Elmore. It's a relief to get this underway. I hope all goes well. And that your ride is on time.
Thanks. I wish they were on time instead of 45 minutes early. I told him I would be down in 30 minutes.
-
Yeow!
-
DR Elmore's race is on.
In the meantime, I'm trying to remember whether a place I always thought was a Del Taco had actually been an El Taco instead. As I recall, there were not a whole lot of them and I was only through one or two of them a couple of times, but I remember liking it.
-
Loving all over again this "Twelve Days of Christmas".
-
Vibes for Elmore.
-
Waiting at the dentist.
-
Twelfth Night is among my favorite Shakespeare plays, up there with King Lear.
-
Angst ridden incest plays really do get a bad rap.
I much prefer angst-free incest plays. At least I think so. Do I know any?
That one by Cocteau, maybe.
-
Good morning!
-
Vibes that all goes well for DR elmore today.
-
DR JohnG--you asked how I'm dealing with the snow and ice. I went out yesterday to clear off my car but other than that I haven't been out. I may go to Target and/or the supermarket today. I'm going to see how icy it is. My neighbor told me that he drove in the parking lot yesterday and slid. He ran into a pile of snow, luckily, and not a car.
-
I just don't think I'd have the patience.
-
I just don't think I'd have the patience.
To eat that? I would.

Glad you weren’t one of the thousands stuck on the interstate.
-
Looks like I have a cavity under a crown and may need a root canal.
-
Wednesday afternoon greetings! Richard has a burn clinic appointment this afternoon. I hope they’re as pleased as we are about how his foot looks.
-
Hoping DR Elmore’s afternoon goes smoothly.
-
ChasSmith, I saw from castrecl that Irish Rep is doing Streets of New York.
-
Twelfth Night is among my favorite Shakespeare plays, up there with King Lear.
Those are my two favorites!
-
Yes, I am home. All went smoothly, Access-a-Ride went very nicelky, and the hospital changed my times tomorrow and Friday to afternoon from 7:40. I guess they don't want old coots out after dark on a walker. I'm very pleased.
-

Yes, I heard, and it turns out to be a completely different version than what we know. Whole different score, etc.

Oy! Two hours before my appointment and 45 minutes before my pickup time and Access-a-Ride is here.
Damn.
Yikes! :o

DRs, I'm testing uploads to YouTube. I'm new to it, so bear with me.
For your amusement, here's a trial video -- a number from our Cabaret a couple of years ago. Let me know if there's any weirdness linking to it. (The video is unlisted.) Video and audio quality are what they are, I think this was somebody's phone. And sorry, it's just a 7-piece band, I know it needed more.

Double yay!!!!

That link works just fine, DR ChasSmith!
-
So glad that everything worked out, DR elmore3003. ~~~ULTRA VIBES~~~ for this long journey ahead of you.
-
DR John G. - I was thinking about the patience required to make it. Eating it wouldn't be a problem! :)
-
DR John G. - keep us updated about your mother's appointment.
-
It's the middle of the afternoon. Tis a beautiful day here.
I have a lot of housework needing doing. No time like the present, I suppose.

Jane, here’s an interesting take on the Holmes trial from a juror.

If you do the work, I’ll eat it.

The German in that song, Mein Herr has always been fascinating to me. The phrase, Mein Herr, is formal, but “Du kannst nicht Null“ is informal. So, yeah, some nameless sex has happened here.
Carry on.
-
From Bruce:
Back from a horrendously awful new play - what we all need right now, an angst-ridden incest play.
Oh my ;D
-
From George:
One co-worker had a cold...just a cold!
Wow, just a cold ;)
-
Good afternoon.
-
I had just put the turkey in the oven when I got a very important phone call.
-
"Grandma, can we go to the park?"
-
So I set the oven to turn itself off in 3.5 hours, and I went to the park.
-

Yay, how nice it will all be moved out.

When we lived in Michigan I had a good friend who loved to go to Estate sales. She hated driving even more than I do and would tell me what time to pick her up, then direct me to all of the sales for the day. As much as she disliked driving she was an incredible back seat driver. I have never know anyone to come close to her skills :))
-
I still have a few items I purchased back then. The best ever was the unused Sunbeam electric frying pan with a high dome cover that still works.
-
I need to find someone who can help me write a grant proposal.
-
"Grandma, can we go to the park?"
That was important. I hope it was fun.
-
I need to find someone who can help me write a grant proposal.
That’s a full-time job for people. I remember taking hours and chain-smoking Marlboro Lights to get those done. But I haven’t worked on one in more than 30 years. I wish you the best. And I will volunteer to proof it for you.
-
The German in that song, Mein Herr has always been fascinating to me. The phrase, Mein Herr, is formal, but “Du kannst nicht Null“ is informal. So, yeah, some nameless sex has happened here.
Carry on.
That's "du kennst mich wohl" - "you know me well". Which still leaves a fine trail of nameless sex.
-
Well, shit. My neighbor Pixie just called to tell me that she has Covid, and I was exposed during her visit on Dec. 31.

I know, right?? She's feeling better and is back at work today. :)

Oh, no!!
~~~Vibes for NO COVID for Larry!!~~~
-
"Grandma, can we go to the park?"
I love it.
-
So I set the oven to turn itself off in 3.5 hours, and I went to the park.
You are very lucky to be able to do that.
-
Yikes, Elmore. Will that affect your treatments?
My ears. I’ve always been clumsy with lyrics in foreign languages.
I have enough problems hearing English lyrics accurately.
Larry, if she has omicron, she may have had it for only a couple of days, i.e., after you saw her.
-
Gratuitous post No. 99!
-
Yikes, Elmore. Will that affect your treatments?
My immediate thought, as well.
-
Great story out of Wicked.
https://people.com/theater/broadway-alum-returns-seven-years-later-perform-wicked-lead/
-
I'm up, I'm up - about six hours of sleep due to not going to bed until five.
-
Immediately futzed and finessed, which wasn't too much thankfully, just a couple of good additions to fill things out. Getting to a strategic end of chapter today. I wrote one new page then went to the bank. There were about three people in a line OUTSIDE the door, which wasn't too bad. But it took thirty minutes from that time until I finished because people are INSANE. They take so much time at the window - one guy was there for fifteen minutes, and they should have a dedicated teller who only does simple deposits - it would move so much faster.
-
Then I got some Panda Express, which I'm about to eat, then I must write at least six or seven pages before taking a break.
-
Due to the possibility of flooding tomorrow I have postponed a blood test until Monday. The rain is supposed to stop by then. Fortunately I have a week to play with before the test needs to be done.
-
Great story out of Wicked.
https://people.com/theater/broadway-alum-returns-seven-years-later-perform-wicked-lead/
It is indeed a great story.
-
Elmore, they are saying now that the symptoms occur in about three days. So hopefully she got it just after visiting you.
-
Yikes, Elmore. Will that affect your treatments?
I called Lenox Hill and asked. They told me to get a test ASAP and to come in.
asap and to come in.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Oy! so much Covid!
MEGA, MEGA vibes to DRs TCB, Michael, Elmore, and anyone else who needs them!
-
Glad to hear good news from DR John G about help from the acupuncture.
Vibes for continued improvement and vibes to John G's mother.
-
Vibes for Pixie and Elmore's other friend.
-
I went to the dentist yesterday for a routine hygiene visit. Several cancellations, some Covid.
-
I went to the hairdresser today. I gave him his Christmas present, a face mask from Hawaii, with hula girls and leis on it. He remarked, "I might actually wear this one." He's terrible about wearing a mask and most don't fit him well at all and probably aren't doing any good.
-
My favorite food store is still open, but they're having staffing problems and have closed the sandwich bar. What?!! I bought other items.
-
That, plus car repair, has been my week so far. Exciting, huh?
-
There are some new dog breeds afoot.
I think I like the first one best.
Did he wear it, or any mask, while you were there? Considering your health issues I would hope so.
-
Please, all of you with Covid or potentially with Covid, please let us know how you're doing and if your symptoms are mild, nuisance symptoms, or whether they are more serious. Also, when you're on the mend, do let us know.
Extra-strength healing vibes!
Yes, Jane, he put it right on. There were very few people there today, thankfully, and most were wearing masks.
-
{{{HUGS}}} to DR Ron!
-
I think people are more inclined to wear a mask if it's cute and fun. And fits well.
-
Hi, TCB! How are you doing?
-
And, yes, vibes to Ron from me, too. There are some losses that take a very long time to heal. Of course we miss these people!
-
TTFN.
-
I was glad to see DR TCB posted last night and again a little while ago.
-
DR TCB please tell us how you are and if you managed to get tested.
If the gym we go to didn't enforce the mask rules we wouldn't feel comfortable working out. With this weather we are having we haven't been walking outside.
Loved it, except for the red gloves. I thought she was a proctologist.
Richard has had a very exciting day. The burn clinic was so pleased with his progress we don’t have return for 3 weeks. And we don’t have to wrap his foot in gauze any more.
From there we went to the Apple Store where he got a new iPhone to replace the one that died the day after he burned his foot. We’re on a call right now with Ruby, an Apple genius, who’s helping him get everything set up.
-
DR Elmore, vibes that it all works out! Having been in Pixie’s shoes, I know her conversation with you was probably terrifying for her.
-
On our kitchen table right now we have 3 iPhones, 2 iPads, and one MacBook. If I brought out my MacBook, our collection would be complete.
-
Ruby, the genius, is earning her pay tonight…
Just finished the Three Colors Trilogy. Though Red ties it up, it may be my least favorite, because the other two were just so superior. I looked up Roger Ebert's review and he called Red the most brilliant among equals. So there.
-
Six pages so far. At least nine to go, but it's early.
-
Finished the Panda Express and An Inspector Calls. Not my favorite version, but boy is the story great.
-
Very good news from DR Ginny. Huzzah!
Good night, friends.
That's the 2015 version, right? I saw it several years ago and just loved it. It's on Britbox and Amazon Prime.
-
Very good news from DR Ginny. Huzzah!
Yes, definitely very good news.
-
John G, I didn't think much of the new AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, either. I found E1 rather full of itself and overly stylish. The creators said they wanted the characters to have a contemporary sensitivity. But why? Aren't we all largely products of our time? I think it'd be more interesting to learn how characters of that time reacted to those events.
The only CoVid test we could find in our county required us to mail our samples to California. The last I heard the UPS plane was still flying around the state.
I had to cancel my surgeon appointment tomorrow to have the cast and the sutures removed. Once I have taken the test, I have remain isolated until I receive the results.
Tomorrow, my friend Shelly and I are going to have dinner at a new Mexican (I think) restaurant here in town.
-
We haven't seen each other since the middle of last year, so it'll be great to ketchup on things.
-
We chatted for a while last night before I went downtown to visit and eat too many tater tots with my friend David who came down from Seattle.
-
Shelly's been having some medical issues over the last year or so, so hopefully I'll find out that things are getting better.
-
Well, this is a really cute story...Crow Convinces A German Shepherd To Play An Adorable Game Of Fetch (https://blog.theanimalrescuesite.greatergood.com/dog-and-crow-play-fetch/)! ;D
And you gotta watch the short video!
