Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a car chase, and now it is time for you to post until the car chasing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SIDH!
-
Topic of the Day: Doctor Who on my DVR. ;D
-
Good morning to all.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Good morning, all!

Yesterday, at the hospital, one of the technicians inadvertently did something to my right leg while trying to get me in position on table, and now my leg is in constant pain. Last night it took me forever to get to sleep.
-
I'm very happy trhat I will have two daus away from hospital after today.
-
Last night I watched Legend, a 2015 movie about the infamous Ronnie and Reggie Kray, notorious London gangsters of the 1960s. Tom Hardy is excellent playing both Reggie and ronnie, and the cast is good, but . . .
There was a 1990 film, The Krays, which starred Billie Whitelaw with twin brothers Martin and Gary Kemp as Ronnie and Reggie. It was so much better.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Friday.
It is Friday.
-
TOD
I don't rightly know yet.
-
Today: Laundry.
Should be just one load of clothes.
-
I do not know this Ronin.
I should have at least known OF it, seeing as it's Frankenheimer.
-
Was he related to the Weisenheimers?
Probably some other guy.
-
Enough of me for a while.
But rest assured. Like a bad penny, I'll turn up again.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Weird night. Had a very bad bout of nausea before bed. But I managed to get some sleep. And the sleep was good. But the muscles in my left foot froze up during the night. I had to stand on it before I loosened up.
-
Off to eat some barbecue.
-
DR JOHN G - cut your hair you damn hippie!
-
It sounds like MR BK & DR CHAS SMITH & DR ELMORE are all experiencing the dregs of the retrograde.....but it will be over by Tuesday!
-
I was going to put the For Sale sing out today, but it is snowing.....so i shall wait until Saturday or Sunday depending on the weather those days......
-
Good morning!

Do it whenever you think best, Mrs. Hovick.

I am seeing terrifying snowpocalypse reports about the East Coast on the news. THREE FEET of snow over the weekend??
-
Worst storm in Boston's history?

Thinking of all of yuz.

Good morning.

For some reason, I started feeling a bit under the weather last night. I got congested, and my throat became scratchy. Going to bed at a reasonable hour became undoable.
My solution was to have a piping hot cup of peppermint tea and to listen to some Georges Delerue music. That music selection was a suite from his score to "Steel Magnolias".
It was around 2:10 a.m. when I finally settled in. And then I slept the sleep of the dead!!
I awakened a little after 9 a.m. I think I could have slept later except that i needed to clear out the congestion with several strong bouts of hacking and coughing.
That didn't take too long, unpleasant as it sounds. Now, I am simply apathetic about doing anything remotely worthwhile for the rest of the day.

I have a birthday party to attend tomorrow evening.
It is the first birthday of Miss Audrey James Moore, a 2nd cousin. She is a sweet little girl, and her parents felt the need to rent a nice venue and invite tons of family and friends to celebrate. The reason, I guess, is because they both work full-time and Audrey is in the care of her grandmother (my 1st cousin Debra) during the week. Many family members have yet to see her in person, so the idea was to do a get-together for the event.
I doubt Audrey will get any appreciation out of it...but her parents will.
My fear is that the event will be a super-spreader. I daresay few, if any other than myself, will wear masks.
I hope I am mistaken.
-
I need my first cup of coffee for the day. I truly do need it.
And i have a mild curiosity about what might await me at the post office. I hope for the one last tax statement from an annuity that will complete all my documents for the previous tax year. Then I can visit my CPA on Monday to start the blood-letting.
-
Am I done now? I does not rightly know.
For the sake of the "1" guest (count it, 1) viewing the site, I shall bid you adieu.
-
It is flurrying.
A harbinger of bigger things to come.
-
My ride should be here in around 20 minutes. I'm dressed and ready to go.
-
DR John I love your hair. Do you mostly wear it like that or tie it in a ponytail? Craig wore his pandemic hair tied back but then he cut it before returning to in class teaching.
-
LOL, yes it is very different from your avitar.
-
Wow, DR TCB. I am glad you moved.
-
From TCB:
I can’t find any information on how bad the fire was, and I can’t drive over to Tacoma to find out.
If the manager, or owner, you knew still works there you could call and ask how he is.

Both. If I’m out, it’s usually tied back. But at home it’s loose.

Bloody Marys are judged. Who likes sweet Bloody Marys? There were three or four our of 11 with a definite taste of sugar. Dreadful.

Access-a-Ride was late again today by 30 minutes. I'm glad to be home.

Well, Kaiser's website says that they don't do Covid testing unless you need it for surgery, or some other important event. Going back to work didn't qualify. ::)
-
Glad to hear DR ELMORE is home and ready for the blizzard.
-
So, I was able to make an appointment to get a PCR test by a company that has a kiosk/trailer downtown.
-
I should get the results back in 1 to 2 days. Hopefully, that's actual days and not business days. I'd like to go back to work on Monday.
-
I think we have gotten all of the s**w we are scheduled for and it is moving East.
In a few minutes I will be logging in to attend the Vermont wedding. There are only two family members from Garrett's family - his mom & dad - and quite a large number of those from Tara's family there.
If it had been here in Indiana, I am sure we could have outnumbered them easily.
-
We'll see!
-
I shall have a full report anon.
-
The two latest Kritzerland releases have landed in the Midwest. Guess I won't have to file a PayPal dispute. :)

DR Ron Pulliam - are not the child's parents concerned about giving COVID to their child, when said child can't yet be vaccinated? Sounds dicey to me.

No, they aren't at all convinced that Covid19 is actually real. I have heard them expound upon it ad nauseum. I love them, but they are stupid.
-
They also believe Trump won the election and that the Democrats somehow STOLE red states from him, despite the virtual unlikelihood of that happening at all. That would make Republicans complicit in the steal, wouldn't it?
-
I keep waiting for Democrats to start challenging how Trump possibly got 70 million votes. THAT should be the real story of criminality for 2020.
-
Soap Box now pushed firmly back under my bed.
-
Goodness, it's Page 3.

Bloody Marys are judged. Who likes sweet Bloody Marys? There were three or four our of 11 with a definite taste of sugar. Dreadful.
I don't like vodka and I like my tomato juice pure. Still I would think sugar an odd ingredient in a Bloody Mary.
-

Good. You already took the test today? I was concerned you wouldn't find anything, at least not to get the results back before Monday. Fingers crossed you have the results no later than early Monday morning.

DR Ron, good vibes you do not catch covid tomorrow night.
-
I'm up, I'm up - I think I got almost eight hours of sleep.
-
My biggest pain at Lenox Hill? The idiot elevator riders who don't check if the lift is going up or down, so that when it arrives in the basement for me I cannot board it because it's too full of fools who want to go up. This has happened too often.
-
Lenox Hill is on East 77th Street running west, and the city needs to close that block between Park and Lexington to drivers so that only ambulances, taxis, and vehicles picking up or dropping off patients have access. Every time y ride arrives, traffic backs up behind it and the horns go crazy.
-
Well, Kaiser's website says that they don't do Covid testing unless you need it for surgery, or some other important event. Going back to work didn't qualify. ::)
Going back to work is important to you AND the employer paying for Kaiser.
-
Rib-eyes have been my favorite category so far. Just got through with pinto beans, which were all over the map. Some were too al dente, others were mush. Weird spice combinations, too much epazote or oregano. Some used bacon, others used stringy beef. Some had a thick broth, others thin. It was kinda like judging an amateur chili competition.
-
Friday afternoon greetings! It has snowed all day here, but the accumulation isn’t as significant as it could be. The handyman who came to reconnect our dryer vent had a little trouble backing his van into our steep driveway.
-
DR John G, your hair and mine are about the same length…
-
Every time my ride arrives, traffic backs up behind it and the horns go crazy.
How nice, to have horns heralding your every arrival!
-
No bad pennies here. Just rubber chickens.
-
So glad for the good medical news about DH Richard, DR Ginny.
-
In space,
no one can hear you scream you still have to vacuum.
-
Although, vacuuming sometimes does make me scream.

True except there are too many people wanted covid tests. The hospitals by us say do not go to the ER for testing. One hospital near us had a drive through testing site, by appointment only. I thought Kaiser might have done something like that, but then you need the space to do it in.

Introducing.... CATUS!
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Sing, thanks for posting the link to BK's interview. I'd gone to Richard Skipper's site, but hadn't seen the clip. Perhaps it just wasn't up yet. Your link simplified it.
I hadn't heard of Richard Skipper, but found him to be a good interviewer. I agree with DR Chas on both points -- that his questions were good ones and that the lighting wasn't really a problem.
-
Introducing.... CATUS!
Such a beautiful cat. I hope she and Commander become the best of friends.

Good ole Mercury retrograde. My last few days have been full of foul-ups, but minor ones, fortunately. Yesterday I returned 3 Amazon items to my local Whole Foods. The two pair of jeans were under one QR code. I'd folded both pair and put them in the plastic bag they'd come in. The system acknowledged one pair, but not the other. After much consternation I was finally able to do an online chat with someone at Amazon today -- they don't make it easy to get to a real person -- and was refunded for the second pair of jeans. They want everything to go through their menus, but there's no menu item for this because it's not supposed to happen! All seems to be well now.
-
Life-go-smoother vibes to DR Elmore!
-
The two latest Kritzerland releases have landed in the Midwest. Guess I won't have to file a PayPal dispute. :)
I'm pretty sure that mine are at my work.
-
I might stop by later when very few people are around. I know I got a couple of other packages and I don't want to wait until Monday to get them.
-
I m not surprised that Palin dined out two days after testing positive for covid. What surprises me is that the restaurant didn't send her away, even if she was dining outside.
After her diagnosis the restaurant needed to make a public statement apologizing for not checking her vaccination status, as they were required to do, prior to seating her indoors.

Off to eat some barbecue.
John G treats his upset stomach by eating barbecue. Humm... I don't think that would work for me. For his stomach barbecue must feel normal.

Glad you found someplace. Your insurance picked up the cost or are they given free?
(They're usually free here, but they still ask for insurance info)

I have seen drive-thru test sites using the public street. You lose some parking spaces, but needs must.

Actually, I can see how it happened. The WF person probably assumed there was just one pair in the bag. I think the problem was partly because the QR code was for both pair. In the future I'll try to get a separate QR code for each item I'm returning. Amazon was good about it, but you don't have a receipt until it's acknowledged and could be <insert your favorite phrase>.
-
Looking forward to the end of Mercury retrograde.
TTFN.

I'm getting so goooood at sleuthing this guy's videos. He has no idea where this is - only identified as "California" in the 40s. He's right about the decade. But CA is a very big state. I got the first part of the video pretty quickly because a) it looked really familiar and b) the Kelly Music Building gave it away, as that's a historical landmark. Westwood Blvd. in the 1940s. That entire sequence is Westwood, including all the houses.
Once it switches to the night footage it's obvious we're in downtown LA but where??? Then we pass a movie marquee and since the double bill is easy to read, it was easy to research. Not. Top-billed Champagne Waltz opened in early 1937. Easy. Second feature, The Young in Heart opened in late 1938, so, not so easy all of a sudden. Obviously, the double bill had to have been in 1939 when The Young in Heart went wide. But nope, nothing. It played like crazy but never on this double bill. And what theater was it. My eyes finally lit on the side of the marquee, which rather than listing the movies, had something else written on it. Took me a minute but I got it - Merritt Building. Well, still there at Broadway and 8th. Once I knew that was the corner I knew it was the Olympic Theater and that we're driving down 8th towards B'way, which is exactly where the Maxwell House coffee shop was until the 1950s. From there, I simply searched Champagne Waltz and Olympic and for each year from 39 on. And finally found it - March 4, 1942, a full five years after Champagne Waltz first came out. Go know. They love me on this guy's YouTube channel :)
https://youtu.be/eMFRJqddlqc Westwood stuff is at the start - theater appears around 6:50.

I'm sure some of you will remember when I put up the Kiki's Delivery Service anime cel in the last Indiegogo campaign - can't remember what the price was but I think it was under $1,000. I told everyone then that it was an incredible deal and investment and no one bit. What a shame. Bonham's is auctioning off a similar cell right now - opening bid? $15,000, with a high estimate of $25,000. Glad no one bit :)

She doesn't say a word about it.
I will, of course, have one of my new N95 masks on.
-
Absolutely wear a new mask, and if you plan to use it again air it out for a few days, best even to put it in a paper bag.
What will you do though about eating and drinking?
-

Remove myself from the fray. There should be room to separate myself. I will have to remove it to eat and drink, much the same as I would in a restaurant.

Simple, Tex-Mex style. A little bacon, a little cayenne pepper on the finish. Beans that are perfectly cooked, slightly thick broth, enough salt.

Watching The Sparks Brothers. Hagiography doesn't work if you don't worship the subject. I haven't come to worship them yet. I don't know their work, but their version of Do-Re-Mi was interesting.

And.... Nice is different than good.

So I hear.

Good night, friends.
-
Good night, Singdaw.
-
The Sparks Brothers is 2 hours and 20 minutes LONG. I really like it, but after the exhausting day I had, I want to go to bed with only 15 minutes left.
-
Five!
-
Good night, all.
-
Good night.
And good night, all, from me, as well.

Bloody Marys are judged. Who likes sweet Bloody Marys? There were three or four our of 11 with a definite taste of sugar. Dreadful.
Sugar? That is disgusting. I still enjoy a Virgin Mary (forgive me, Lord), but I don’t handle spices as well as I used to.
-
Nowadays, I would probably stick to a V-9 (vodka + V8 juice)
-
I do love me my V8 juice!
-
Back from opening night and shall now write some notes and hopefully ol' George will be along soon.

Back from opening night and shall now write some notes and hopefully ol' George will be along soon.
I have arrived.
-
Today, I had a little more excitement than I've had this entire week.
-
I drove downtown and had a cotton swab shoved up and swirled around my nostrils.
-
Fortunately, I did it myself, as I did last weekend, so I knew what to expect.
-
This time, it was for a PCR Covid test, so it'll take a 48 to 72 hours to get the results.
-
And I guess be more official and reliable than a home test...hopefully.
-
Tonight I watched the movie version of DAMN YANKEES.
-
I think I have watched that movie a dozen times, or more.

Actually a Virgin Mary is one of the most ordered non-alcoholic drink in bars.

But I do love Cheyenne Jackson in the New York version.

I should have said Jane Krakowski instead of Sean Hayes, but I wasn’t sure I could spell Krakowski.
