Good morning, friends.

:)

Good morning to everyone. I hope everyone has a great week!b
-
Good morning, all!

The fallout from my wretched day yesterday will be around for a while, and I'm wondering if some of my mental issues are radiation-related.
-
When Annabelle was on the printer yesterday, I was so angry - I had already dealt with issues before it ran - that I (think) I struck the filing cabinet next to her with my cane to scare her. What I fear is that I actually struck her with the cane as I hobbled/limped/lurched from the bed to the printer, and that has me very upset with myself.

This morning I return to Lenox Hill and I hope Access-a-Ride will be fine. My life is too fraught already. I still don't know how I'm paying those damned taxes.
-
Good morning, all.

IT'S SN*WING.
Which wasn't in the forecast, of course.
Only supposed to be an on-off thing this morning, then it turns to rain this afternoon. We've got three (count'em) days of thawing beginning tomorrow, but of course there had to be this last insult before that.

Last night near bedtime, i began feeling out of sorts. An ache in my back compounded a feeling of nausea. What could possibly be wrong, I wondered. I prepared my recliner for sleep, but when I was in position, I felt ill.
I got up and went to the bathroom just in case. Nothing happened. As I entered my bedroom, I looked longingly at the bed that i have been avoiding the past weeks because of the breathing issues (CPAP- related and sinus-related).
I didn't care. I lay down in my bed and felt the weight of the world slip away from me. Shortly after that, realizing that breathing on my own (without the (CPAP) was working just fine, I activated my mattress warmer and drifted off to sleep.
Whatever the malaise was, the bed was my ticket to relief from it. I slept the sleep of the dead and rose around 8:47 a.m.
Feeling optimistic. I won't be able to do that every night until my new CPAP mask arrives, but it's nice to know I can do it when I need to.

They should allow you to pay them over time...a portion each month. Ask them.

It's 37 degrees right now. Our high should be 43 degrees. I suspect it's still winter here.

Rain is expected all day long. Another gloomy one.

"Ichnite", according to Google, is a noun meaning "a fossil footprint",
That sentence is the only way I can think of to use the word IN a sentence.
Otherwise, I'd just say "fossil footprint" instead of "ichnite".
Oh! I used it in another sentence.!

I set my thermostat to 69 degrees at bedtime each night.
I know today is colder than usual because the heat just started up, and i haven't raised the thermostat to my normal 72 degrees.

Good morning, all.

I am glad you got some rest, Ron. It took my machine more than 2 months yo get to me. How much longer do you have to wait?

No shouting this morning.
-
I am glad you got some rest, Ron. It took my machine more than 2 months yo get to me. How much longer do you have to wait?
I don't know. I have the machine, and I have the air pillows that I have used since getting it. But, with the sinus issues, the air pillows don't do the job. My nasal passages tend to close up when I try to use them
I am getting a new face mask that will allow me to breathe through my mouth, if I have to. And I am promised it will come with the proper tubes to connect the CPAP unit to the mask.
I was given a mask 7 years ago,but had never used it until I recently tried. Sadly, a component was missing...a joint that fit on the mask that would fit the tubing.
The VA promised I would get a more up-to-date (and dare I hope "better") mask than was available when I first started using the CPAP.
The conversation with the VA took place two weeks ago today, so I'm hoping it will get here this week.
-
I suppose I should get on with my day.
Coffee anyone?

HA! Good sleeping news from DR RON PULLIAM.

I'm beginning to think that MR BK's AFTRA check is with my MASTERCARD check.

I am liking the lists on the TOD.
I don't think I have anything to add, but time will tell.

Thanks, DR John G. Believe it or not, I am discriminating. I only save and post the things that I see that may have the talent to amuse HHW DRs.

DR elmore3003 - is having your brothers buy you out a possibility?

Only if you pronounce it as it is in 'The First Noel".
-
DR Jrand I hope you find Kit'n Kaboodles back on the shelves soon.
-
Has anyone here ever had a bout of hyperventilation?
I had one following lunch. I had to go outside and calm my breathing down.
Don't have a clue what set it off. It has passed, but it was distressing.
-
Jrand, even more I hope you avoid extra charges with your credit card and that your check is received.

The geese have invaded the pond again and are fussing endlessly with one another.

There’s a weird cat that likes to come up to my front door and just meow for a few minutes, then leave. I say weird because her meow sounds more like a honking goose than a cat.
-
DR George, YAY!
-
At the deli where I gad brunch yesterday, they had a dessert that Jane would have refused: chocolate-hazelnut swirl babka with coffee ice cream on top. Sounded decadent.
-
From George:
It was a completely different kind from the others that I had taken...this one required an app and a battery powered test device.
Was that the On/Go test?

From TCB:
I have a short-haired sweetheart of a little girl kitty. The only problem is that she is a cannibal. 😺

Not to the point where I have had to breathe into a paper bag. I know people who do this. Calming it the way you did means you kept it under control so be pleased with yourself.
I hope the part for your CPAP unit arrives soon. I suspect it might be related to the attack.

I would eat the ice cream. It sounds delicious, if only they had left out the hazelnut.

I fell asleep around 4:20 and the battery on the smoke alarm woke me at 6:45.

QUICK HOUSE SELLING VIBES!
And more.
Assuming the house does not need major repairs/renovations, it should do well. It's a seller's market all over the U.S., as I understand it.
Selling it without a broker means more money in JRand's pockets.
-
Hah!
-
Yes DR RON PULLIAM it is move in ready. Very nice. Yes I am hoping to sell it with as few $$ as possible spent.
I have to share the proceeds with 23 other heirs......some of whom are very greedy and calling every day for their checks..... It ain't happening, honey.
Our attorney will tell us when we can give a first payment to the greedy bastards - probably sometime in March.
We are still waiting for the insurance payout, an annuity payout, the insurance refund on the small house that sold, and of course the sale of the BIG house.
-
More ~~~~HOUSE SALE VIBES~~~ for DR Jrand71!!!
-
That is awful, DR Jane. I could not function on that amount of sleep.

Greedy relations are always fun!! It has a rather "Knives Out"-ish air to it, doesn't it!

Pray you don't. You know that you are breathing but you don't seem to be able to get a breath. Very odd feeling.

I just hauled the trash and recycling bins down to the road for tomorrow morning's pickup.
It's a real Monday kind of chore, lemme tell you. And I'm glad it's done.

Goodness, how rude. You have done much in a rather short amount of time. Do you have a group email set up? If so you can tell them NOT to call and you will send out weekly updates, unless there is something new to report.

Going to the gym help but now I am sleepy.

Aint it the truth!! I tell myself that I function because I manage to do things...but it hardly feels rewarding sometimes.

Still not shouting.
-
I actually have a funny hyperventilating story.
-
A good number of years ago we were at Lake George in NY with the kids. There was a place on the lake that offered para-sailing, and it looked about as safe as para-sailing can get.
-
We went out on a speed boat where one by one they strap us into a harness with a rope that attaches to the boat. As the boat picks up speed, up into the air you go. My turn was after Keith and Craig.
-
There I was up high, in spite of my fear of heights, fear gripping me every time the wind bounced me, and laughing with joy until I begin to hyperventilate.
-
The guy on the boat turned to Keith and said I was hyperventilating as he was bringing me down. Keith's response was "leave her, she does that all the time".
-
I would have been terribly disappointed if they had pulled me down early. It was an incredible experience.
-

Nice.

They have a free giveaway pile.
Maybe Jrand71's relatives should go shopping there instead of pestering him.
-
I appreciate you not calling DR CHAS SMITH.
Yes DR RON PULLIAM it's exactly like KNIVES OUT - which I used to think was funny.
There are three people I would chop off if I could.....at least three.
-
DR ELMORE if this house sells quickly, I'll send the St. Joseph to your brothers..... I know I sent one before, but it was unused.
-
DR JOHN G perhaps the cat that eats the food on my front porch is the same one that "meows" on your front porch.
Them pussycats is quick!
-
I wonder if MR BK got his envelope today.
Once I get the hard copy of my credit card bill WITH the extra charge, I'm switching over to auto pay.

Nice story, Jane. I think I would have freaked out hyperventilating up in the air.

As Keith said, it wasn't unusual for me. I haven't hyperventilated in a good while.

Hello, everyone.
-
There's a lovely little French song called LA MER, which was some years later given English lyrics (very loose translation) and a strong beat and turned into BEYOND THE SEA, which was of course popularized by Bobby Darin and others. I'm very fond of both versions.
-
A busy Monday, which did include tacos.
-
I have no other news.

Finished entering fixes, some of which involved Muse Margaret's approval. Turns out proofer two caught a very important thing that required me to add a few lines to an early chapter. That's done and I have to read them to the Muse.

I have slowly begun catching up
-
(((HUGS))) for Larry
-
We drive to Florida starting in the 21st
-
We ran into a snowstorm as we were exiting Virginia , and drive through it all the way through to Lumberton
-
The week was rainy and cold, but we got to spend time with the kids
-
So that was nice
-
The day we were heading back to New York, we heard that there was a snowstorm
-
In fact it was a doozy
-
We spoke to our neighbor and learned there was up to three feet of snow in our driveway
-
So using the wonders of the inter webs while driving ( well while Vixdad was driving) I located a local company which would clear our driveway, walkway and front stoop fir the bargain price if $250 payable by credit card
-
But we were rather over a barrel so charge we did
-
We were glad when we got home to the frozen tundra that was our neighbor hood to find that they truly had cleared right down to the concrete and even went so far as to clean off vixdads car which was parked in our double driveway
-
It was the last bit of joy for the evening as we opened the door to find it was somehow even colder inside than outside
-
The furnace had failed while we were away
-
We called our plumber ( this was 7 pm on Sunday night) and to his credit he arrived within the hour
-
He got it started but it wouldn’t stay lit
-
And he didn’t have the part he needed to replace, but promised to be back before 9 am with the new part
-
So we put layered up, put on hoodies, hats and double socks, extra blankets and went to bed with heating pads
-
The next day I went back to work and Vixdad stayed home with the plumber
-
Who did indeed fix the furnace
-
For less than the cost of a new kidney
-
Soon Vixdad called me to tell me that the house was getting warm
-
Not much later he texted me a picture of our bedroom
-
Specifically the ceiling
-
TaDa!
-
It appears the pipes that feed our baseboard radiators froze
-
The water was fortunately caught by our mattress
-
Writing that off as well
-
We are fortunate that Vixdad was home because he was able to shut the water off before it destroyed anymore of the house
-
The plumber came back
-
This time with his son , also a plumber
-
They discovered 11 more sections of pipe that had failed
-
I came home and called the insurance company
-
And the next day while the plumber and his some cut out and replaced sections of pipe these guys ripped out the rest of the ceiling and the front wall of the bedroom
-
And part of the living room ceiling
-
It’s all very tedious
-
Vixmom, how horrible!
But I am thankful the plumber came out so soon. Will the insurance cover much of it?
-
I'm sure you're still in shock.
Mega vibes it all gets fixed as smoothly and quickly as possible!
And the insurance picks up their share.
-
And you win the lottery.
-
Vixmom, how horrible!
But I am thankful the plumber came out so soon. Will the insurance cover much of it?
Hopefully we’re waiting for the final invoices and estimates to be approved
-
Fortunately we have a small deductible
-
But we’re living in a combo construction project/warehouse as we now have boxes of belongings piled everywhere as we had to empty two closets, the attic and everything in the front bedroom
-
We rented a storage unit which is good because we’re going to hav3 to move stuff from th3 living room next
-
Scary stuff, Vixmom.
-
Good night, all.
-

Page six? Really?

I guess we should have a topic of the day that I am unfamiliar with to get those post totals soaring skyward.
-
TCB, would you give us an update on how you're doing? I know you had the cast off and were given a boot. Do you still have the boot? Are you getting around better? Inquiring vminds want to know!
Today was my follow-up appointment with my surgery office. I say the office because I have no idea who my surgeon was, or even his name.
-
My sister asked if I met him prior to the surgery, but he’ll if I know. I was so high during the first 24 hours that I could have met the Pope and I wouldn’t remember it. Of course, I would probably have called the Pope by the wrong name. …..Francis…..Benedict…..
-
Anyway, today I had my follow-up with Eric, the hottie PA who I do remember from the hospital. The good news is that I can now put weight on my ankle, as long as I have my boot on. I no longer need to wear my boot in bed, or when I am watching TV or reading.

Are you sure, at least, that your surgeon's a "he"?

That's great, Tom!
-
The disappointing part (besides the fact that Eric is married) is that I still can’t drive my car. So Eric was kind of like the groundhog that saw his shadow; I have another six weeks stuck in my home.
-
Oh, I bought a ticket to see Olympia Little Theatre's production of Clue (http://www.olympialittletheater.org/shows/clueonstage/) on Thursday. :)
-

Darn. But you'll probably be able to drive before I even get my new car. ::)
-
I took my sister and her husband out for lunch after my appointment. It was my first outing in two months. I was totally exhausted when I got home, but it was fun. I slept most of the day and evening when I got home.

We drive to Florida starting in the 21st
Didn’t you just get home from Florida?
-
So, I ordered a Subaru and this article is about Ford, but I wonder if Subaru and other car manufacturers will be heading in the same direction:
Ford plans to suspend or cut production at 8 factories due to chip shortage, Reuters reports (https://www.businessinsider.com/ford-suspends-cuts-output-due-to-chip-shortage-2022-).

My little brother would have done it for a quarter!

It appears the pipes that feed our baseboard radiators froze
Did you call the furnace-repair guy to fix the pipes?

TCB, would you give us an update on how you're doing? I know you had the cast off and were given a boot. Do you still have the boot? Are you getting around better? Inquiring vminds want to know!
Today was my follow-up appointment with my surgery office. I say the office because I have no idea who my surgeon was, or even his name.
Are you sure, at least, that your surgeon's a "he"?
;)
Don’t be silly, George. They don’t let women to be doctors.

I took my sister and her husband out for lunch after my appointment. It was my first outing in two months. I was totally exhausted when I got home, but it was fun. I slept most of the day and evening when I got home.
Nice. Where did you go?
Black Bear Diner, just down the street.

I like the place. Good food, and you can order breakfast, lunch, or dinner any time of day.

They used to have one here in Olympia. I went a few times and enjoyed it...except when I went there because I wanted pancakes and stupidly ordered buckwheat pancakes. :o

Buckwheat pancakes aren't pancakes when you want "pancakes"!

My brother-Ian-law ordered what they called the mini-volcano, because he thought it would ibe lite. It was one egg and one sausage link, with two pancakes. The only problem was the pancakes were the size of dinner plates. He said it was good.

The two buckwheat pancakes that I got were huge, also.

So, that would've been great if I had liked the buckwheat pancakes that I got.
