Well, you've read the notes, you know why the notes are late, and now it is time for you to post until the tantrum-throwing cows come home.

Well, I breathed a big sigh of relief this morning. I was terrified on Sunday that I had seriously injured Annabelle when she attacked my printer. Her behavior on Monday made me think I'd struck her head and given her amnesia or concussion: she kept away from me, she looked as though she couldn't focus her eyes, and I spent most of yesterday weeping over my fit of anger. The curious thing was I never aimed the cane anywhere newar her head; IU aimed for te side of the filing cabinet next to her and I feared I mayhave struck her on her lower back.

Vixmom!

Oh my GAWD.

We've been through much with this house (including one (1) frozen pipe incident ... which caused me the loss of a laptop PC, but no more than that ... but I digress).

But but but...  yes, this rapidly grew into something you're not going to handle yourself. It's time to let the insurance company take over. At the same time, what a disruption to .. um, life, peace of mind, all that stuff.

Tuesday morning greetings!  I have been E & T for no good (or bad) reason.  The weekend weather was pretty distracting, though, and I spent quite a bit of physical and emotional energy looking after Richard as he, bit by bit, cleared most of the ice and snow from our driveway.  He had some help from our neighbors Mark and Rosemary.

My college roommate my freshman year was from Lumberton NC.  His name is Forrest Floyd.  I have no idea where he is, or if he is, any more.  Last time I saw him was graduation in June 1970.  But he was a good guy, and Lumberton must have had some responsibility for that.

I wish I had some tale to recount of my morning exploits, but all I did was go to Riley's on Main and pick up some lunch.  Next, I went to the post office and retrieved a small package from my mail box.

Inside was a box of shower bombs.  Yes, you read it her first.  Ron Pulliam is going to use a shower bomb in the near future to enhance his showeing experience.

I hope it's worth the words I'm typing to report this to you.

As I am sure I have mentioned, Riley's on Main is actually on Calhoun Street, which is our main thoroughfare through town.

Riley's got started in another town on its main street, hence the name.

It is owned by the Asbill family. They also have Asbill's Catering Service which handles many special functions in this area.

Oscar noms - was really hoping Emilia Jones would get up, but noooo - we must have the always-nominated Olivia Coleman and Nicole Kidman. The latter is especially infuriating. And I like Javier Bardem but his nomination for that film is a joke. Glad the supporting guy is up for CODA and I think he has a real chance. And it's up for best picture, which is nice, although I find the ten films thing stupid.

And I like Javier Bardem but his nomination for that film is a joke. Glad the supporting guy is up for CODA and I think he has a real chance. And it's up for best picture, which is nice, although I find the ten films thing stupid.

Indeed.

I think it's simply pandering to get as many folks interested in watching/following the program as possible.

The bad news is I think we have a thief in the building. I didn't know that Ann and Jen were away for the weekend, and I saw a package for Ann on either Friday or Saturday. Someone's snatched it.

Oh, no! >:(

Of course nowadays the world has front porch thieves who literally cruise neighborhoods for packages to swipe. That in itself makes me glad this house is so secluded from the street.

That's the main reason I'm very glad that I can have my packages sent to my work.

I am glad he had some help.

Mine, too, figuratively...but I could imagine myself not being able to get it back.  Hyperventilation!!

I know how to keep them from getting out of control.  If one got bad today I am sure I would find it frightening when back then it wasn't scary at all.

As I am sure I have mentioned, Riley's on Main is actually on Calhoun Street, which is our main thoroughfare through town.

Riley's got started in another town on its main street, hence the name.

That's confusing ;D

Keyboard  player Nick Archer posted this story on Facebook:
One night at the Plymouth Theatre, with PASSION (1994), one of the Clarinetists (either Al Regni or Les Scott) was unable, at the last minute, to get to the theatre for the show. As luck would have it, Jonathan Tunick just happened to be backstage that night and, as even MORE luck would have it, one of the other reed players had a spare clarinet. So, Jonathan played the show that night, with Paul Gemignani conducting. I spoke with Jonathan a few days later about all this and his only comment was referencing Gemignani, saying, "He didn't even throw me a cue!"

Gemignani does not like Jonathan, which is very clear in the Lapine book on Sunday in the Park with George. In 1998, I recommended Jonathan to conduct Jubilee at Carnegie Hall, and Gemignani turned him down. When I told Jonathan, he said, I'm not surprised. Paul only works with me on a show by Steve. He usually works with Brohn or Starobin.

For some reason seeing the list of nominees just makes me depressed rather than excited.

And Aaron Sorkin wrote an article for Entertainment Weekly defending his RICARDOS script under the headline ACCURACY vs. TRUTH.

He says of course it didn't happen the way it happens in the movie, he wanted to make the week dramatic so he took several years worth of incidents and crowded them in there.....BUT he told the TRUTH about who Lucy & Desi were.....so he's in the clear.

I saw Nathan Chen do his routine - it was indeed terrific.

I didn't realize that the program was being broadcast on USA Network and wasted a lot of time watching speed skating and skiing waiting for it......then it scrolled across the bottom of the screen....

I watched almost ALL of the second to last group - then when the final group came on, they switched to the NBC broadcast station where I watched the rest.

And today, after over a year and a half of different annoyances, I signed a contract that has to do with a company that's purchasing my catalog of CD productions from its former "owner." They couldn't make the deal without me because the former "owner" didn't have ANY contracts - I had them. Not all, because I threw out one binder when I moved in here, just because I thought when will I ever need this crap again - but thankfully, there were two other binders and all the contracts were basically the same with minor variations. First it was one company, but that guy just kept asking me to hire people to find this stuff in storage, but not paying for it, so I had to put out that dough, and then never doing the deal. I basically told him I was done and would not go further, but then another company got involved and I liked them and although it's taken eight months, it's finally done. I get paid a little money for all the time and trouble of finding the stuff, but I also will end up owning the Haines His Way album and I'll have the use of all Guy Haines tracks should I care to do a compilation album of his tracks, which I may. Mum's the word, baby.

I got my very dirty car washed today, then had my watch repaired. This little watch store is great: $23.23 for both a new battery and a new leather band. I was expecting it to be more. The restaurant next door to the watch store was having Taco Tuesday, so OF COURSE I had to do that! 99 cents per taco, but they're small and EVERYTHING else is a la carte.

I did know of two people in the cast, one of whom has worked with BK: Susan Egan. Also in the cast was Annaliese van der Pol. It was interesting that the women were on stage with a supposed piano player. He did sit at a grand piano, though I don't know if he actually played. The music was canned. He also made many fairy jokes and camped it up to a hilt.

Laura "I won't get vaccinated" Osnes was listed in the credits at the end. She was supposed to have been in the cast, but the lack of a vaccine meant she wasn't going to be cast in anything. Still, she was listed as a producer of the show with her company, which I think is called Princess Party. And she also worked on the costumes/wardrobe.

The Razzie nominations were fun. Sad that Judy Kaye got a nod, but not sorry for Diana the Musical.

I thought Judy was channeling Ethel Merman in that show.

TCB, someone is starting your car every few weeks and letting it run for 10 minutes, yes?

Yes, I started it yesterday.  Now the problem is cars bring stolen from the parking lot.  Yesterday, a car was stolen from in front of my building.

That's pretty cool, BK!  Congrats!

DR JEANNE this is my favorite version of the song EVER although Mr. Bobby Darin's version is a very very close second.  This is not a digital version - it seems to from vinyl.....with all its faults.

Thank you, Jack.

Here's my favorite French version.

Very nice, Jeanne!  As is the Gisele MacKenzie version, but I do like the up tempo French version better.
