Title: NOTES: IMPOSSIBLE

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were impossible, and now it is time for you to post until the impossible cows come home.

Tonight, I'm going to see a local play as an audience member for the first time in more than two years!  Olympia Little Theatre is doing the stage version of Clue (http://www.olympialittletheater.org/shows/clueonstage/), based on the movie (which is based on the game) and several friends are in it!

I did see Tacoma Little Theater's production last year, but this is the first time that I'll be in the audience for an Olympia show.  I can't wait! :)

Yesterday must rank as one of the absolutely worst and humiliating days of my existence. By the time I was home from Lenox Hill, I wanted nothing more than to crawl into the tub and slit my wrists. No sooner than I walked in the door, Laura, Dr Blacksburg's social worker, called to check on me and talk me down.

After sweeping profusely while I sobbed, I hate myt life, I finally calmed down enough to tell her I was okay, it was time to feed three cats, and I was not going to off myself.

I fed the cats, ordered Chinese food for dinner, my neighbor Mark, Judy's husband, brought me a slice of banana bread Judy had made, and I had cleaned off my travel bag and thrown my soiled clothing into the hamper.

After dinner and cleanup, I lay down, watched the last two episodes of Hot in Cleverland, Season One, taken my meds, and I was in bed by 8:00. I thought I was getting sick, butI'm not feeling so bad this morning. I do not look forward to returning to radiation today.

I didn't go to see any of the Mission: Impossible films until the fourth, Ghost Protocol, which received such accolades for a couple of its sequences that I thought, why not? And in the theater I thought they were pretty breathtaking. I don't actually recall any of the plot now, and I knew then that there were references that I wasn't picking up because I hadn't seen the first three films.

Some months later I thought I'd catch up and I watched the first one. I literally don't remember any of it now. I do remember it was a little hard to get interested in. I've never yet moved on to #2 and #3. By all rights, such movies ought to be good escapist fun, if nothing else. So why are these such a chore, I wonder.

TOD

When I was ten, Gershwin had just become the most important composer in my life, thanks to the triple threat of the
Porgy and Bess film and the Concerto in F and Rhapsody in Blue on the Mercury recordings. The other symphonic works would follow. All of these continue to lead the way for me, with Porgy still the desert island choice, as it pretty much has always been.

One of my favorite possessions is the massive photocopy of the full score that DR Elmore gifted me with back in the Toyland days. A masterpiece and treasured artifact.

Congrats to DR TCB on his millstone.

Yes, congrats, sir. I'm so terrible at checking these numbers, but I just looked at mine and I'll have a round one coming up in not too long a time. It's a modest one in comparison with everyone else's, of course, but what can you do. Well, if I suddenly found I had a few tens of thousands of posts in me that I could knock out in short order, I guess that's something I could do.

I've always loved Gershwin's beautiful and moving "Isn't It a Pity?," which I first heard on a Mabel Mercer recording. Imagine my surprise when I discovered years later that it was a comedy song like "I'll Tell the Man in the Street!"

My lab work went smoothly.  I arrived 15 mnutes early and they took me almost immediately.  I then went to Walmart specifically to get some Häagen Dazs Coffee Ice Cream.  But, alas...three rows of Häagen Dazs product were haphazardly disorganized with mostly chocolate and no coffee in sight.  Either some customer destroyed the display, or the stocker isn't doing his/her job properly.  I bought a house brand of coffee ice cream.

I stopped at The Fresh Market and got some chicken wings (Teriyaki), roasted potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts.  When I got home, I had a wonderful lunch of them!  Still have half the wings left.  I devoured the potatoes and sprouts.

Often I find the coffee is missing.  Yesterday at Fred Meyer's, since I had coffee at home, I wanted the coffee chocolate chip, so of course that was the one missing.  While not the mess you seem to have, I did think the ice cream was not as organized as usual.

That's a pretty good article for the most part. But I must vehemently disagree with the idea of using kidney beans. You need pinto beans or, as I've found at Shop Rite, "small red beans" are pretty much ideal. Big difference.

And of course this recipe has you making the chili from scratch. I really might try that sometime out of curiosity, and judging ty the picture I suspect the meat content is a little more substantial than in the original mix. But like DR Ginny, I really only eat the real thing at Skyline, and buy it in cans at Kroger to bring home.

Bruce, lately I have been seeing headlines for old murder cases being solved due to DNA.  It is upsetting to know the evidence of lost and, without a confession, Stephanie's murderer will likely not be caught :(

I found this article which offers some comfort, that at least because of the missing evidence a team was formed to solve cold cases.

London's new 'floating' Sky Pool lets people swim 100 feet in the air between 2 skyscrapers — and the bottom is completely see-through.

We’ve spent most of today with extended family at the funeral of our niece’s father-in-law.  Ken was just a few months younger than Richard and their mothers were very good friends.  He started an HVAC business about the time we bought this house and his sons Scott (our niece’s husband) and Rob are continuing the enterprise.  Rob was just here a couple of weeks ago checking things out for the winter.

My sympathies, Ginny.

I'm up, I'm up :)  I was up at ten-thirty after three hours of sleep due to going down a serious rabbit hole that kept me up until seven-thirty in the morning, but it was one I needed to go down. Once up, I have not stopped with going and doing and picking up and driving and eating. Yikes.

I am certain that, as some point in my life, I have experienced a bimarian merging...possibly of the Adriatic and Ionian, or the Ionian and the Sea of Crete.  And even possible is the Aegean merging with the Levantine Sea.

After sweeping profusely while I sobbed, I hate myt life, I finally calmed down enough to tell her I was okay, it was time to feed three cats, and I was not going to off myself.
