Congratulations on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament, DR TCB!
Great clips, DR John G. Thank you!
Can’t narrow the Gershwin list down to single songs. So many pleasures.
And the word of the day is: BIMARIAN!
I didn't go to see any of the Mission: Impossible films until the fourth, Ghost Protocol, which received such accolades for a couple of its sequences that I thought, why not? And in the theater I thought they were pretty breathtaking. I don't actually recall any of the plot now, and I knew then that there were references that I wasn't picking up because I hadn't seen the first three films.
Some months later I thought I'd catch up and I watched the first one. I literally don't remember any of it now. I do remember it was a little hard to get interested in. I've never yet moved on to #2 and #3. By all rights, such movies ought to be good escapist fun, if nothing else. So why are these such a chore, I wonder.
Congrats to DR TCB on his millstone.
It's been a fairly challenging winter, as those things go. At times, I have felt myself surrounded by ice holes.
Mega vibes, Elmore, for a better day.

Ditto! :)
I did read it. I enjoyed it, too.
One of my co-workers, who didn’t believe in tipping in restaurants, would take a plastic baggie with her and would fill it with fried chicken from the buffet. I made sure I never sat close to her.
My niece, of course, would NOT appreciate the joke!
He is built.
I would have been here sooner, but I tripped on a hole in the ice.

From DR John:QuoteI did read it. I enjoyed it, too.
Thanks. While excellent, it is a slow hard read. I wish I was going to the gym this morning as I need the hour of reading on the treadmill.

You’re right. It is slow and occasionally heavy. I took my time getting through it. I read something else at the same time.
I agree with DR TCB about the Peacock Olympic coverage of the skating. Seeing the routines is great, but without announcer context it isn't nearly as enjoyable. It feels bloodless.

I haven’t been watching the Olympics, but I generally like to hear more music and fewer words.

My lab work went smoothly. I arrived 15 mnutes early and they took me almost immediately. I then went to Walmart specifically to get some Häagen Dazs Coffee Ice Cream. But, alas...three rows of Häagen Dazs product were haphazardly disorganized with mostly chocolate and no coffee in sight. Either some customer destroyed the display, or the stocker isn't doing his/her job properly. I bought a house brand of coffee ice cream.
I stopped at The Fresh Market and got some chicken wings (Teriyaki), roasted potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts. When I got home, I had a wonderful lunch of them! Still have half the wings left. I devoured the potatoes and sprouts.
They're coming to throw you into the goulash.
DR Ginny - will you be whipping up a batch of Cincinnati Chili for Sunday?

It is wonderful to read DR Elmore's Lenox Hill Report today.
DR Ginny my condolences to your family.
Boo!
Thank you, DRs ChasSmith, Singdaw, and JRand.
DR RON PULLIAM when that outfit on Johnny showed up on my screen last night.....I just had to look away.
Now I am watching USA and there is some kind of snowboard racing going on.....it it most interesting and entertaining.
Thank you, DRs ChasSmith, Singdaw, and JRand.
Condolences from me, as well.
We’ve spent most of today with extended family at the funeral of our niece’s father-in-law. Ken was just a few months younger than Richard and their mothers were very good friends. He started an HVAC business about the time we bought this house and his sons Scott (our niece’s husband) and Rob are continuing the enterprise. Rob was just here a couple of weeks ago checking things out for the winter.
Well, somebody up there likes me. The first afternoon meeting lasted only 7 minutes.

Shout hooray and hallelujah!
After sweeping profusely while I sobbed, I hate myt life, I finally calmed down enough to tell her I was okay, it was time to feed three cats, and I was not going to off myself.
Ice hole, spice hole, JRand!
