I saw some of the grilling, too, Larry. There was a very unattractive blonde woman asking some very idiotic questions. Jackson gave some very intelligent answers, but the blonde woman just wasn't having it.
One of the questions was "Can you define 'woman' for me?" The reply was "No, I'm not a biologist". The blonde woman then began declaring she could never vote for anyone who could not give her a definitive definition of what "woman" is. What on earth?
As for Graham, he has previously voted FOR Ms. Jackson to hold federal judge positions. It is always embarrassing to realize he represents my home state. His questioning her about whether she knew what people were saying about other possible candidates was inane.
The Republican party is truly horrific.
Lawrence O'Donnell, on his MSNBC show, summed up the questioning by stating the Republican senators were asking her for things that "they", themselves, were hired to figure out. They are the ones who legislate such things.

My mother's family is part of Abraham Lincoln's so I was always proud of the Republican part, although I'm a Democrat, but I'vew watcvhed that party move from intelligent conservatives to a few sensible folk and a shitload of morons, narcissists, whores, grifters, and thieves who pride themselves on their crimes and lack of education.
I am pleased to announce that my new one-person play, GEORGE SANDERS, is now available in both paperback and Kindle editions via Amazon. Performance rights are available.
"I hate interviews because I do not get paid for them" -- George Sanders
George Sanders was Hollywood's "Professional Cad".
A fine actor, he played mostly secondary, and often villainous, roles in such classic films as THE BLACK SWAN, THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY, Alfred Hitchcock's FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT, THE GHOST AND MRS. MUIR, and ALL ABOUT EVE, for which he won an Academy Award. He, also, starred as "The Falcon" and "The Saint" in several movies.
Sanders played his charming heel both on an off the screen, refusing to give autographs, avoiding press interviews whenever possible, and doing everything he could to steer clear of the tax collector.. He was married four times; once to Zsa Zsa Gabor, and once to her sister.
GEORGE SANDERS, Michael B. Druxman's one-person stage play, joins the actor at the end of his life, as he ponders the mistakes he has made and contemplates suicide.

I can't imagine the cast attendance issues BK is dealing with.
We all have cast attendance issues, to be sure. Once in a while one really takes the cake. And I would surmise the cake, at this point, has been taken.
I wonder what Congress would do if someone shone a very bright light in their direction?

Jane, my sympathies on the loss of your friend.
Yes.....vibes for DR JANE & KEITH on the loss of their friend.
DR Elmore, do I understand correctly that you actually had a buyer, and the city's regulations killed it?
Robert Galbraith, aka JK Rowling, has a new Cormorant Strike novel on the way. It’s called The Ink Black Heart.

That's what Randy told me. You see, that new hospital is Middletown's jewel and i don'tthink the city wants a parking lot of big-rig trucks polluting the holy arena.

Someone needs to get the hospital to buy the land and expand!
I always thought the property would end up a clinic, lab, or motel to house visiting family of patients. It's right off I-75.
Another reason to want Ketanji Brown Jackson on the Supreme Court. I qwonder if we could get her to record Show Boat , Cabin in the Sky, or Valmouth? ;)
Madeline Albright has died. Admired her greatly.
Albright had a great sense of humor, as this bit proves:
Throughout her career, Albright was known for wearing brooches or decorative pins to convey her foreign policy messages. When she found out that the Russians had bugged the State Department, she wore a large bug pin when she next met with them. When Saddam Hussein referred to Albright as a snake, she took to wearing a gold snake pin; when she was called a witch, she proudly brandished a miniature broom. When she slammed as "completely un-American" acting Director of US Citizenship and Immigration Services Ken Cuccinelli's suggestion that only immigrants who can "stand on their own two feet" are welcome in the United States, Albright wore a Statue of Liberty pin.

Good afternoon.
It's a beautiful spring day here. I enjoyed a six-mile hike.
I hope that Justice Clarence Thomas dies in the hospital and that Biden gets to appoint ANOTHER Justice immediately.
Perhaps that is uncharitable, but that's where I am at this point.

So, I just had a check-up and the PA said that it doesn't really matter how long it is between the two Shingrix shots, they just don't want them too close together, so I finally got my second shot today!

What a relief that that waiting for the second one was ok. Vibes you don't get sick.

Thanks, Jane. I don't expect to since I didn't the first time. :)

My condolences to Jane and Keith on the loss of their friend.
A heartwarming article about a British couple who are taking in a young Ukrainian woman.

I hope George is OK after his second Shingrix shot. That's when I got sick for several days.
On my mind lately...
