Well, you've read the notes, the notes had projections about the projections, and now it is time for you to post until the projected cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MOLLIFY!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I had a frustrating evening. I had wanted to watch the Abbott & Costello Hold That Ghost, only the DVD is faulty, would not play. So we watched Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein, a film I've loved for the past 60 years. I watched about half of it before I decided to watch some MSNBC. I'll finish it tonight. Fiddling with that bad DVD for too long screwed up my schedule, so I took my bedtme meds about an hour later than usual. I channel surfed for a bit and ended up watching the Marin Alsop program on PBS. I quite enjoyed it, and I liked her more than I expected. I had only heard in gay circles - the men's chorus and String Fever sometimes performed on thew same bill - during her days with her
lesbian women's group String Fever that she was an unpleasant lady. Perhaps the info was jaundiced or perhaps she's mellowed now that she's doing what she really wanted, but I found her quite wonderful and someone I'd like to know.

Once I went to bed, I had many strange dreams, but I only remember the visual of riding a boat, some sort of glider, over a long flat field in Franklin, Ohio, that had been flooded to a patch of dry land.
-
I finally heard from Sweet Relief. They have offered me $400 to help me out.
-
DR slingblade, the original Upstairs Downstairs was created by actresses Jean Marsh and Eileen Atkins. They also created a second series you might like, The House of Eliott.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Too tired to stir, but apparently not tired enough to stay asleep. Plus, it is bright outside.
-
Diana: The Musical picked up a raft of Razzies, including worst movie and one for Judy Kaye for worst supporting actress.

Good morning, all.
-
I was dead tired last night, woke after only five hours of sleep (which seems to be my usual these days), but thankfully managed to get back to sleep for another couple of hours this morning.
-
More coffee!
-
It’s supposed to reach 92 today. Summer is just about here.
-
Just reading about BK’s rehearsal adventures made me even more exhausted.
-
I found her quite wonderful and someone I'd like to know.
Former DR Jose does. He introduced me to her after Bernstein's Mass at Carnegie Hall.
-
Good morning, friends.

Thank you much, DR elmore3003!

Tonight we close the windy city show and I pack all of my stuff into the car. Tomorrow I’m out first thing to sub again at my friend’s church (he’s away on vacation). Then finally, I will have an evening and the following full day OFF for the first time in a week and a half.
-

That’s interesting, because I had never heard her conduct anything until that Mass at Ravinia that was streamed last year, and I thought that was brilliant.

~~~MOST EXCELLENT VIBES & XYLOPHONES THAT BK & COMPANY GET THROUGH THE TECH REHEARSAL, DRESS REHEARSAL, SITZPROBE, PREVIEWS, AND THEN THE OPENING WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!~~~
-
Heidy-Ho, everyone.
I finally made it to Saturday.
-
I spent my evening watching the BBC production of "Sense and Sensibility." Have watched the first two episodes. It may be one or two more before the conclusion.
The curious thing to me about it is that a couple of the characters seem to be modelling their performances on the ones of actors in the movie. Gestures, line delivery...that sort of thing. It's only just noticeable -- and possibly only to me -- but it doesn't spoil a minute of presentation for me.
A nice night's sleep, too. I got out of bed at 9:35 a.m. I went to bed around 1 a.m., so that was a good 8 hours or so.
What shall I do with today? I do not know. We are approaching the time I normally think about getting some lunch. So, I shall see!
While this is still fresh in our minds:
^ HA!
Strongest and most potent vibes for MR BK & Co.
-
Have a great closing night DR CHAS SMITH!
-
Well the last team I had any interest in for the NCAA tourney lost last night, so I doubt I will watch many more games.....
As for the TOD:
I have also lost interest in OSCARS SO WOKE and will not be watching.....
-
The hot new musical!
-
The hot new musical!
Wonderful, except I wouldn't want to hear most of the supporting cast sing, except to a jury.
-
Two!
-
From Bruce:
Nope, I have never had this many problems with any other show ever.
Sending more vibes for the show and the woman with the sick grandfather.
-
Strongest and most potent vibes for MR BK & Co.
Ditto.
I went out and got passport photos as well as bird food this morning. Made a citrus cake. And now, it's back to Gambit.
-
TOD:
I think CODA will win best picture and best supporting actor.
I don't think that Lin-Manuel Miranda will win tomorrow.
The one movie I hope wins tomorrow is Summer of Soul for best documentary.
-
I think the question we are all asking DR JOHN G is:
Did you get a new light bulb for JB?
-
Projections!
So let it be written - so let it be done.
-
TOD:
I think CODA will win best picture and best supporting actor.
I hope so, not that I have seen all of the nominated films. I wish Emilia Jones was also part of the nominations.
-
I think the question we are all asking DR JOHN G is:
Did you get a new light bulb for JB?
I still have all 10 digits, so that should tell you the answer.
-
I trimmed some shrubs up front. I can now see a little better out my window. And I filled the green barrel. There is still much to be done.
Too much to do today. And not enough time.
After escaping Ukraine with her daughter, leaving her husband home to fight, Valentina Verska won the Jerusalem marathon.
Congrats to Valentina!
-
And now, I'm off to my mom's to help her with some stuff and for some leftover meatloaf. :)
-
I'm up, I'm up - got to bed at three-thirty. At nine-fifteen, the smoke alarm in the bedroom began to beep. Unbelievable. Dead battery. Of course, it takes a 9V battery, which I don't have here, so I had to get dressed, go to Rite Aid, get one, come back, put it in. Then I went back to sleep until twelve-thirty and now I have to take a quick shower and get to the theater. Seven hours of sleep.
-
I'm off to go dancing.
-
I hope it's a good evening. There won't be many there.
-
DR JOHN G I believe we have our answer.
-
I finished Dolly Parton's thriller this morning. I was a little underwhelmed by the finale. I had wanted 9 to 5 Dolly have the woman get out of the trouble by herself. Instead, the man fights his way out of it. But it was enjoyable.
-
Sort of a chilly day here today. Our banker is off next week, so we will not be able to get our cashier's check for our payout.....so the next week will do.
I completed the season announcement article for the website and the Facebook pages.....so I am sort of caught up on things.
-
I am now listening to a very enjoyable biography of Buster Keaton by Dana Stevens. I don't think it covers his whole life, just his early years. But there's a lot of background to place his importance in cinema with what was happening in the early 20th century.
Congrats to Valentina!
Only two men finished ahead of her. Technically she was 1st place for women and 3rd place for men ;)
Put it on your calendar to change the battery in six months.
One more until...
The day is nearly done, and I have done very little to commend myself.
I got my mail, went to the Triangle and had a BLT and fries, drove through town down a street with which I was unfamiliar and then returned home.
Watched the final episode of the BBC version of "Sense and Sensiblity". Frankly, the movie is far more satisfying...emotionally and intellectually. Cannot speak for the novel at this time, but the BBC version ended most abruptly even though it was clear Elinor and Charles were together as were Marianne and Major Brandon.
I am so in love with this little dog!
Doggie cuteness overload!
The hot new musical!
Wonderful, except I wouldn't want to hear most of the supporting cast sing, except to a jury.
Huh?? What are we talking about?
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I went to bed at 11:30, but didn't fall asleep until sometime after 2:00, then slept until 6:00. 4 hours max. Of course, I had a lot I needed to do today, too. I did a lot, but much still awaits. I know that the war in Ukraine had disturbed my sleep, but it is only one factor of several. Gawd!
-
I finally heard from Sweet Relief. They have offered me $400 to help me out.
Glad to hear it.
-
DR Jeanne the war has greatly impacted my sleep. Since the day Russia invaded, until four nights ago, I barely slept. Four nights ago I finally crashed and slept about eight hours. The three nights following I slept decently. I hope my luck doesn't run out tonight.
-
Jane, I hope you -- and all of us -- sleep well in the coming nights.
-
I will second that!
-
The war is so heartbreaking. But I am awed by the immediate and generous response of much of Europe. Americans, too, of course, are giving aid and some even fighting. It's both heartbreaking and awe-inspiring to me.
-
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
TTFN.
-
I, like DR Jeanne, got lots done today, but still not nearly enough.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Keep the home fries burning.
-
It is.
-
Keep the home fries burning.
No fries, however, Keith cooked brussels sprouts in our new air cooker. Once he gets the hang of it he plans to make sweet potato fries.
-
I expect those of you with dogs and cats know to avoid xylitol, a sugar substitute in peanut butter and other products. Now it is also called Birch sugar.
-
'night
-
Dancing was fun. But there weren't many people.
-
Still, we got in some good practice and had a few social dances.
-
And now this tired body is feeling like it wants to go to bed.
-
But let's see if we can get off this page.
-
Where is everyone tonight?
-
I don't think they're out dancing.
-
Or prancing.
-
Dream Dancing is a favorite Cole Porter song.
-
We dance between a sky serene and fields of green
Sparkling with dew.
-
It's joy sublime whenever I spend my time
Dream dancing with you.
-
Four!
-
Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga do it on their new Cole Porter album. And Ella has recorded it.
-
Fred Astaire sang it to Rita Hayworth in You'll Never Get Rich.
-
And that concludes tonight's lecture.
-
On to other topics.
-
Going to get some spring stuff to plant tomorrow.
-
My plumbago didn't die after all. It's coming back from the roots.
-
It might help if I watered it.
-
Most plants like a little water every now and then.
-
Gratuitous post 99!
-
I still have a poinsettia in bloom. I haven't killed it from overwatering it, which is what I usually do.
-
I'm surprised.
-
My thumb is more black than green.
-
And that's it for my act tonight, folks.
-
Rest up, y'all, so you can post tomorrow.
-
Good night, all.
-
I expect those of you with dogs and cats know to avoid xylitol, a sugar substitute in peanut butter and other products. Now it is also called Birch sugar.
Thanks for the info, Jane. I knew about xylitol, but not Birch sugar. :-\
-
My plumbago didn't die after all. It's coming back from the roots.
Very good news, John. :)
Back from another LONG day. Cue-to-cue was actually going really well until my lighting designer screwed something up and spent thirty minutes on one cue. And then during the run-through, which had its good moments, he was trying to fix something on the fly and basically kind of screwed up the final half of act two - but he can revert to the version he saved after the cue-to-cue. T After the run, which ran exactly two hours with intermission, I worked a few things and let everyone go by nine-thirty.
-
Dinner was brought in - pizza and chicken nuggets, but I really didn't care for either - I had a tiny slice of pizza and one nugget - that was enough for me. So, because I basically haven't eaten all day, I just ordered my favorite pasta dish from the Cheesecake Factory and it will be here, hopefully sooner than later.
-
I will say, the show moves really well, looks good, and all. But for our final and only dress/tech we're adding in projections AND sound - SCARY. And then we have a preview. SCARY.
-
What a fortuitous turn of events, BK. ;)
-
I remember auditioning for a musical review and getting cast. I knew and was friends with just about everyone in the cast, as well as the director and the music director.
-
At the first rehearsal, this woman showed up and the director and music director were surprised that she showed up. She did audition, but it turns out that they accidentally called the wrong person! :o
-
Most fortunately, she decided to leave the show anyway after just a couple of rehearsals and they were able to call the person they really wanted. I don't think either person knew what happened. ::)
;)
-
Oh good, do they talk about his dog, Tige, or his sister Mary Jane?
-
Rest up, y'all, so you can post tomorrow.
AMEN!
-
My thumb is more black than green.
Years ago, my girlfriend at the time, gave me a big cactus plant because she knew my thumb was black.
I killed it.
-
The other day at the pain clinic, Pete, my PA suggested I try Zheng Gu Shui for my pain
-
I asked if if he meant for my lower back, and he said that actually he meant for my ankle. So, I ordered it from Amazon today. I tried it this evening, but I can’t feel much difference.
-
Page 5!
-
I really can’t feel much difference.
-
The cats really like the smell, I guess cause it smells like a cat’s butt.
-
No, seriously, it has a medicinal smell, but not bad.
-
I am not sure I would want to use it on my face.
-
Especially not on my nose.
-
I ordered from Chipotle today. I love their burrito bowl, or chipotle bowl or whatever.
-
Where is everyone?
-
I guess it won’t be much different on Oscar night.
-
Post-wise I mean.
-
Tonight I managed to make it thru DON’T LOOK UP.
-
I thought it was pretty dreadful.
-
I asked if if he meant for my lower back, and he said that actually he meant for my ankle. So, I ordered it from Amazon today. I tried it this evening, but I can’t feel much difference.
Hopefully, it'll work as you use it more.
-
If I watched it a second time, I might like it better.
-
Tonight I managed to make it thru DON’T LOOK UP.
I thought it was pretty dreadful.
Darn. I wanted to see that. :-\
-
Well, we know that won’t happen.
-
Different strokes, George. You might love it.
-
Different strokes, George. You might love it.
True...my standards are fairly low. ;)
-
It is all satire; or, at least it thinks it is.
-
Tomorrow, I'm ushering for the matinee of Murder for Two again, but I should be home in time to watch the Oscar's live.
-
I'm recording them, just in case.
-
I've been watching previous episodes of Antiques Roadshow.
-
I've recorded a whole bunch and watch them whenever I have nothing else to watch.
-
Notes are finally up.
