Well, you've read the notes, the notes were dressed, and now it is time for you to post until the dressed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HEARTSOME!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept longer than intended, but I must have needed it. I had a weird dream that I was working on a production by an avant-garde director I considered a true nitwit and no-talent. He encouraged the cast after the curtain call to go back onstage and relate to the audience, and we stage musicians were forced to sit onstage while this went on. When it was finally officially over, I couldn't find my shoes, and then the musicians and this director went to dinner and we had to listen to him praise his work.
-
I am home today and I have much budget work to accomplish.
-
Good morning, all.
-
My eyes are really dry this morning. I wonder what fresh horror is in the air.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Big laundry day for me. First load is in the washer.
-
Ask BK:
How so you stage the projections; i.e., where are the projectors? They aren't in evidence in yesterday's photos, as far as I can tell, and I don't remember if I knew this from the first production. It's not rear projection - those are solid standups with doors, right?
-
I had a wonderful night's sleep. No swelling this morning. My back is fine with no twinges needing a tweak.
And to think this USED TO BE the norm that I never even gave a thought to.
Ach!
-
If you ever have a mystery condition...
-
Lest you think me gauche:
Good morning, all!
-
Have just had some heartsome news: Alexa has informed me that three new Blu-rays have been delivered to the post office for me to pick up. They include "The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm" and "Ordinary People".
-
That's quite a double feature DR RON PULLIAM!
-
PREVIEW VIBES for MR BK & Co.
-
I lasted about 30 minutes watching NAME THAT TUNE.
The contestants were Jojo - a dark haired woman who apparently has a Grammy Award....and Kelly Osborne who is famous because of her parents - only one of whom I can take in any form. Jane Krakowski is the hostess and a very thin and sad looking Randy Jackson leads the band & singers.....
-
That's quite a double feature DR RON PULLIAM!

Good morning, friends.

From John:
Did you like the Four Winds, Jane
Yes, though not as much as The Nightingale which so far is my favorite Hannah novel.
-
DR John I appreciate your comments on Belfast as we haven't watched it yet.
-
DR Singdaw I am sorry about the grocery store near you.
-
DR John I appreciate your comments on Belfast as we haven't watched it yet.
I watched the alternate ending of Belfast and was glad it was cut.

Yes, though not as much as The Nightingale which so far is my favorite Hannah novel.
I think the one set in Alaska is the one that sticks with me most. I’ve only read a few.

We have the same here. As the dad says in A Christmas Story, “See you in Oz, folks.”

My urologist called to tell me that my ultrasound showed thst my kidney is fine two years after the surgery.
I am extremely happy to hear this!!!
-
Singssongs, I am sorry to hear about your grocery store fire
-
John no stories, my life has been particularly boring lately
-
Unless
-
Did I tell you about the eye thing?
-
On the evening of the 14th I was in the kitchen and started seeing what appeared to be lightning flashes
-
The florescent ceiling fixture tends to be problematic so I summed it was that
-
Then I realized the switch was off
-
Then I realized it was continuing when I left the room
-
I was tired and assumed it was an ocular migraine coming on so I went to bed
-
I woke up about 6 am and realized the lightning flashes were now nonstop and there were a huge amount of floaters, all in my right eye
-
Now I was concerned and all I could think of was retinal separation or tear
-
So I called the local.ompthamolgist's emergency line and git a very disinterested operator, but left a message
-
Waited until 8 then called out of work
-
And asked Vixdad to stay with me
-
So he called out too
-
Finally reached the ophthalmologists office but the specialist wouldn't be in until noon
-
So at noon we arrived and it took 20 minutes for the receptionist to check me in
-
They dilated my eyes and finally I saw the doctor around 1
-
The good news was he didn't see a tear or separation
-
Hecsaid it had to do with the fluids in the eyeball pulling away from.the ligaments and that was what was causing the flashing and floaters
-
Also said there's nothing to be done and to get used to it
-
Yesterday was my followup
-
Since the last visit my right eye constantly seems to he looking through a dirty lens
-
Floaters have lessened a little and the lighteningstrikes are now few and far between
-
I mentioned the "dirty lens" thing and he said, "oh, that's caused by the cataract you're getting"
-
This growing old thing is getting tedious
-
But still better than the alternative
-
Well lunch break is over
-
Laters
-
DR vixmom, I'm so sorry about your eye situation. Can the doctor do anything about this cataract?
-
Sorry, DR vixmom. ~~~SUPER EYE VIBES~~~ for you!!!!!!

On a happier note (G-natural), I just got notification that my copy of "Sondheim Unplugged, Volume 2" has arrived!

DR John I appreciate your comments on Belfast as we haven't watched it yet.
I watched the alternate ending of Belfast and was glad it was cut.
Interesting. I will be sure to avoid it.

I liked The Great Alone, and it gets my vote for best title.

Wednesday afternoon greetings! We have high wind warnings for the rest of the day and I hope we don't end up in Oz.
Good luck.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight and a half hours of sleep.
-
ChasSmith, the walls with doors are just standard flats painted gray, which makes the projections pop for some reason. The two projectors are up near the top of the proscenium.

Nice links DR GINNY.
Yes the wind has started here and there are predictions of strong storms tonight.

And finally for the amusement of the populace, here is a photo of me and a lovely actress named Constance in a 1998 show called SUMMER GAMES.....set it 1976.
I am wooing single mother Constance by trying to get on the good sides of her two sons.....it's not working. But as you can see, she is undressing me with her eyes.

Good news. Hopefully they will continue to improve.
-
I mentioned the "dirty lens" thing and he said, "oh, that's caused by the cataract you're getting"
I figured as much. Before having cataract surgery be sure to ask about your risk of floaters after the surgery.
-
The shag carpeting and the 70's fashions were the real stars of the show.
-
Nice photo DR Jrand.
-
Wednesday afternoon greetings! We have high wind warnings for the rest of the day and I hope we don't end up in Oz.
Similar deal here in South Carolina! We have "lake winds" until sometime this evening. We don't have to be on a lake to feel them, though.
It's 80 degrees Fahrenheit here right now.
-
I am dressed like that because I have come to take them all to play miniature golf.....as you do.
-
This growing old thing is getting tedious
Indeed it is.
-

Thank you DR JANE.
I just realized that DR GEORGE said they need more folks for MAMMA MIA and I already have the costume for at least one scene.

Well then, get yourself to Centralia, Washington!
-
I went for a walk this morning at the worst time of the day. Just as I walked outside it began to pour. If only I had waited ten minutes, or worn my rain pants.
-
I have done my research on the new iPhones and confirmed the best phone for me, as it is the smallest, is the iPhone 13 mini.
-
I need to have a long conversation with Apple regarding my risks the phone will not work correctly with my hearing aids, and find out what they will do to fix the problem. I can't have them taking weeks attempting one solution after another.
-
We were at Best Buy today and an extremely helpful salesman gave me his card. He kindly said if I have any questions to call and he will search for the answers.
-
He also was very clever. Since they didn't have the new SE for me to test for size, he gave me the case to hold to get a feel for it and see how it fits in my little pocket. We then did the same for the 13 mini which fit better.
-
Good afternoon!

Vibes for DR vixmom
-
Good news, DR elmore!

Vibes for Vixmom.
-
New phone vibes for DR JANE.
-
Salad ordered. Don't have to be at the theater until five. Will stop at the mail place beforehand and hope that the two important envelopes are there.

That's good customer service!

I’m ready for work to end.

A taco truck owner was robbed and shot last night - literally ten minutes after I drove by it on my way home from the theater.

New phone vibes for DR JANE.
Thanks. Still searching for more info and problems.

I couldn't call Apple as Keith has been improving our wifi speed which involved taking us offline.

That is sad, and scary.

I thought so. He was saying how another customer complained the employees are not educated about the phones & hearing aids. He agreed.

I shall now be on my way to the mail place and then the theater.

Yes. It is very sad. When his mind was on it, he could be very good.
-
I agree. He is only 67 years old :(

Starting to watch Coming 2 America. The first 15 minutes were not good. Suddenly, it started getting funny with guest appearances from Morgan Freedman, Gladys Knight, Salt N Pepa. I hope it continues along those lines.

DR vixmom, I'm so sorry about your eye situation. Can the doctor do anything about this cataract?
Apparently “not yet “, we have to wait for it to get worse before they do anything, he said maybe 3-5 years “we’ll see how it progresses”

Coming 2 America wasn't great. But I had a smile most of the time.

Good night, all.

That reminds me of what a cardiologist said to me a year or so back. While I have been diagnosed, and take medication for, atrial fibrillation, I never feel my heart racing, and tests to check on my heart are essentially negligible in showing any form of fibrillation.
BUT, the doctor said there was just a teensy bit of fluctuation, and that I must continue on Eliquis (a blood thinner) to ensure it doesn't get worse.
She said, however, that I would likely need a pacemaker when I am older.
I told her, "I'm 72 now. How old must I get?"
She laughed and said it might be necessary when I'm in my 80s.
-
Ever have one of those days?
-
Apologies in advance to anyone who has a different take on this subject:
I watched Kenneth Branagh's "Death on the Nile" this afternoon on Hulu.
I am a big Agatha Christie fan, and I love the movie version of the book that boasted an all-star cast including Peter Ustinov, David Niven, Mia Farrow, Bette Davis and Maggie Smith.
I reiterate that I saw Branagh's "Death on the Nile", because it sure wasn't Christie's. He has so altered characters and events that saying it's "based on" the Christie novel is just to cover the use of the title and locale.
Worst of all, IMO, is the ludicrous changing of the race/occupation of one of the main characters. The white romance novelist, Ms. Audobon, is now a black jazz singer, and she has several very loud complete renditions of jazz songs that the movie seems to have been cut to...like a music video. The characters Davis and Smith played in the original film are now played by Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French, and they are revealed to be lovers. Annette Bening plays a character with a son, both of whom seem to be Branagh inventions, although I think they substitue for unrelated characters in the actual nove.
To be fair, they did keep the primary killers and their motives, but the rest is virtually unrecognizable as Christie material.
Not MY cup of tea at all.
-

On the Local Newsfront:
This morning, in Auburn (where my mom last lived), an employee in the local WalMart store was stabbed five or six times. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
WAIT! Brace yourself for the rest of the story…….
Was he stabbed in a store robbery? Perhaps a disgruntled customer? Nope! He was stabbed by one of his coworkers!!
-
It is sad Bruce Willis has to retire due to Aphasia.
Now, if Chris Rock had made a joke about Bruce Willis, maybe…..

Will Smith was asked to leave the Oscars after striking Chris Rock, but he refused to go. Of course he refused, that is when you have him removed by the police.
-
Tom, have you heard if there was any report of a motive, yet?
-
Well, looky here! We have a (slightly belated) millstone to celebrate!
-
Back from a bumpy preview - glad we got that out of our system. Notes in thirty minutes.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Rehearsal tonight went quite well.
-
We learned a few more songs and a new cast member joined us.
-
Tonight, rehearsal will be at the director's house instead of the theater because One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Next that's playing there now has a performance, so we must move.
-
But the director said that her house is only two blocks from the theater, so it won't take any more time to get there.
-
Back from a bumpy preview - glad we got that out of our system. Notes in thirty minutes.
I hate to say it, but I'm not going to make it. :-\
-
I didn't sleep too well last night and I really need to get some sleep, so I must be off to bed.
-
At least we made it to Gratuitous Post #160!
-
Have a good day tomorrow, all!
