Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Carmen and the Dragon, Good Friday, Passover, and today's very own Easter, and now it is time for you post until the Easter cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: RESURRECTION!

I'm up.
Surprisingly, my mind is good with being up. Had a very good 6 and a quarter hours of sleep. I woke up at 4:45 a.m. but managed to snooze lightly until 5:30 a.m.
Am having my fantastic cup of coffee as I type this.
-
I will be having lunch today at my cousin Chad's house. He lives down the road from his parents (my cousin Debra and her husband Rob). This is the first time that Chad has hosted a get-together for the extended family, so it should be fun.

Good morning, friends.
-
I don't think I have ever had a lime tortilla chip.
-
But I'd like to.
-
And pairing it with a bowl of chili sounds delightful.
-
Gots to get ready and make Easter happen for the people.
-
Good morning, all!
-
To the dismay of three little kittens, I really slept in tis morning. When I woke it was 6:45. I have not slept this late since 2017, before I adopted Annabelle. The cats showed their impatience by various subtle means: leaping onto me from the top of the filing cabinets next to the bed, romping over me, making loud noises and rattling the window blinds, but I could not get myself motivated to move.
-
A blessed Easter to all who observe

I had a long peculiar dream: I needed periodontal work, and the periodontist was a middle-aged man whose assistyant was a very handsome young man. Somehow I got from the health clinic to this doctors office which was aslso his home, and I kept wondering if there were more to the relationship between docotr and assistant. I was put to sleep for the procedure, and I awoke with a row of stitches on my upper left gums. Thed assistant and his wife were having a loud fight that moved from office to parking lot. The periodontist said they were fighting over the divorce settlement.
Then the doctor and I rode a bus - we were on the Miami University campus - for several blocks. He was off to a meeting and I had a score to drop off somewhere. I did that and when I came outside, it was raining and I had to get back to the bus astop to catch the bus home, As I passed the new library (new in 1970), I ran into my late friend Richard Traubner, who brought me onto the Babes in Toyland project for Houston Grand Opera in 1989. I told him I'd seewn his wife at the clinic. And I woke.

DR JohnG, I loved the Republican seder.
-
The Sunrise Service is over, as is the church breakfast in our fellowship hall.
We had a lot of folks this morning, many of whom I had either never seen or hadn't seen in several years (I stopped attending at the outset of the pandemic and only recently started going again).
-
I need a nap.
-
Good morning, all.

Happy Easter!

I caught the last half of our sunrise service online.
-
I may take a nap.

Another ruined photo!

Good morning, all.

I had a weird dream. Now what in the HELL was it?
At least I - more or less - slept about seven hours straight through, which is practically unheard of these days.
-
I don't know if I ever heard a Carmen Dragon album. But I think my vague impressions of what they might be like are pretty much reflected in BK's descriptions.
-
Happy Easter Sunday to everyone who observes. There's a new Broadway Radio Show up on this here site for your listening pleasure. The wonderful English crooner Richard Shelton joins me to chat about his new album An Englishman in Love in LA as well as his upcoming concert at Feinstein's At Vitello's here in Los Angeles. It's a fun conversation with some terrific tunes...check it out!

I have a couple of Carmen Dragon LPs with the Hollywood Bowl Symphony Orchestra.....my favorite has the Hollywood Bowl on the cover.....
-
I am doing a small washing load of bulky items to celebrate the day.
-
Page Two.
-
I was just reminded of a 1959 television series that starred Wendall Corey & Patty McCormick called Peck's Bad Girl.
I don't think I dream it - but it seems to me that it was on video tape instead of film......then again maybe I was the only person who watched it.

There is a posting delay on my end, for some reason or other. When I arrived, only the last post on page 1 was there.

The deviled egg filling is made. This year ham has been added.
-
Pasta is boiling.
-
And Hawaiian music is on.
-
Life is good.
-
DR TCB I am sorry you had to skip the family dinner. I hope you will avoid visiting the rest of the family until it looks as if covid was not also served with the meal.

I feel like a jack in the box: neither the ballet nor the recording project is dead today. This is ridiculous.
-
I'm up, I'm up - got to bed very late, but got ten and a half hours of sleep - guess I'm not seeing the matinee. Waiting to hear if Grant is coming to hang some pictures.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
Page TWO? Really?
-
What, is everyone busy trying to find their gaily-colored Easter eggs?
-
That MUST be it.
-
I have been doing work on the computer.
-
I have walked on this lovely day without rain.
-
I have been taking care of emails and work I need my computer for.
-
I have done laundry.
-
I have done more on setting up my new phone.
-
I have done text messages and found out the volume cannot be made louder for those which a big problem for me.
-
I have been doing nothing. Time to figure out food. Hot dogs it could be, but I'm not sure I'm feeling that right now.
-
Good afternoon.
-
Today was another day of fails.
-
First, I set up the big coffee maker and got it going. Then I put the mugs on the table. All of a sudden, the table leg gave way and everything went crashing to the ground.
-
So I cleaned up the broken mugs, and then I picked up the coffee maker, took it inside, and started another pot.
-
I put my breakfast casserole into the oven. It needed one hour to bake. After one hour, it was still too soupy. The oven was on, and I left it in to keep cooking.
-
The "sunrise" service only lasted ten minutes. I had expected it to last a half hour. So my biscuits weren't ready to go into the oven.
-
I upped the temp in the oven to get the casserole to bake faster and put in the biscuits. After ten minutes, neither one was done. The oven didn't seem to be very hot.
-
So I turned it up ALL the way. Finally, things began to cook. But everyone was waiting on the casserole and biscuits to be ready. Finally, the casserole was done, but the top had burned spots.
-
The biscuits and sausage gravy was a big hit, though. So that was a success.
-
After breakfast, I put the dishes to soak, and I got out those 65 big cookies for the kids to decorate. I colored the frostings so they would be pretty, and I got out all the sprinkles.
-
The cookies were ... something else. LOL. They were a hot mess. I loved the artful way the little kids decorated them.
-
After about a dozen were decorated, someone came into the room and said, "Come on, kids! We're making flowers. You want to make flowers, don't you?"
-
So they took the kids out, and I was left with all those cookies and the frosting I spent so long making. I was not very happy.
-
I frosted a bunch of them, but I have a lot left over. I was just very annoyed. I will decline to do that next year. I'm in favor of having activities for the kids between the breakfast and Sunday School, but have one at a time.
-
Boy, I'm not as good a storyteller Vixmom, that's for sure.
-
That was a disappointing morning, DR Laura. Sorry you and your efforts aren't more appreciated there.
-
Got a few more things checked off my list today. Including a nap.
-
The best thing that happened today was that I had a bike that my Birding Buddy gave me to donate to the yard sale. I gave it to a young man who has been struggling. His bike that he used to get to work was stolen. He was so happy.
-
Also, it is too hot for mid-April.
-

Oh no!

;D

After about a dozen were decorated, someone came into the room and said, "Come on, kids! We're making flowers. You want to make flowers, don't you?"
That wasn't nice.
-

I too would not be happy.
-

Did you know there would be flower making as well? I think you should let the powers that be know how hard you worked and that you won't be doing it again.
-

Now that is a great story.
-
My Easter lunch with family went very nicely. We had ham, rice, cheese/pineapple casserole, creamed corn, mac n cheese, fruit, biscuits, tea.
I ate my fill.
Had a very nice visit with everyone.

That was a wonderful gesture.
-
I made it home safely.
-
J.B. made it known he fits into the CPAP carrying case better than the machine does.
-
So I had better pack more wisely next time.
-
Smart bird.
-
Smart enough to get us to page four.
-
In one …
-
Four!
-
Hello, 1 guest!
-
Do you listen to wHat birds tell you?
-
Most of the plants were still okay after being away.
-
But the rose I just planted was all droopy in the heat.
-
A good watering all around helped.
-
What do I want for dinner?
-
Something small.
-
I ate a lot of sugar on the road.
-
Gratuitous post 99!
-
Off to scavenge.

You weren't gone very long. I would hope so ;)

Sorry. I hope with water it will be fine.

We are going to watch Spider-Man: No Way Home.
-
Since it is a long movie.....
-
'night
-
Not a lot of news here.
-
Got my taxes mailed. They've been done for a while, but we owed, so in they go.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Starting The Brotherhood, a mafia flick with Kirk Douglas.
-
The Brotherhood is a bore. One note I read says its failure was so great that Paramount almost didn’t fund The Godfather.
-
Taking my weekly covid test before going into work tomorrow. I really don’t care for it. It always makes me sneeze.
-
Negative.

Good night, all.

But first …
-
Five!
-
Hi, George!
-
Hi, John!
-
I just put a load of laundry in the washer.
-
I need to wash some shirts as suggestions for Mamma Mia! costumes.
-
Had Pad Thai for lunch - better than the last place I had it from. Then, later, a small piece of cheesecake because, well, why not?
-
Watched one motion picture.
-
Happy Sunday!
-
I hope everyone had a nice holiday.
-
I got a load of laundry done. :)
-
Ron, that was a cheese and pineapple casserole?? I don’t think I have ever had that before.
-
Well, I guess you can have cheese and pineapple on a pizza.
-
I just finished watching JESUS OF NAZARETH.
-
I think it is a beautifully done miniseries.
-
Of course, that is just part of my stupid beliefs.
-
Who's in it, Tom?
-
Who's in it, Tom?
Who isn’t in it? Let’s see: Laurence Olivier, Anne Bancroft, James Mason, James Earl Jones, Ralph Richardson, Rod Steiger, Olivia Hussey, Peter Ustinov, Claudia Cardinole, Ian McShane, Michael York, Ian Holm, a few hundred others, and Robert Powell as Jesus.
-
Directed by Franco Zeffirelli.
-
George? Did you go away?
-
I guess he did. Oh well, good night.
-
George? Did you go away?
Only for a bathroom break. ::)
