Well, you've read the notes, the notes had Peeps and Circus Peanuts, and now it is time for you to post until the circus cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CALMATIVE!
-
Good morning, all!
-
It's too damned cold to be three days away from May.
-
The cats and I are all very unhappy about the weather. Of course, in September, I'll be complaining about the heat.
-
This morning, I will have a CT scan without contrast to give Dr Namdar a look at my sinuses.
-
Access-a-Ride has been alerted, and I hope they are on time. I want to get there, get it done, and get home..

Good day, all.
It's Thursday, and this morning I venture to the VA in Aiken for my quarterly visit with my primary physician, Dr. John Hancock. No relations to THE John Hancock, so far as I know.
-
I will discuss with him the incredible pain on the left side of my body, from my hip down...it seems to get worse every day. I believe it has something to do with a pinched nerve, but I don't know. Perhaps he will have some sound advice for what should come next.
-
I am able to find a comfortable position when seated, and reclining, that does not have pain, so that is very good.
But it's the in-between. Oof.
-
This morning, I will have a CT scan without contrast to give Dr Namdar a look at my sinuses.
Good luck and fingers crossed that he will find a correctable solution.
-
The temperature in Johnston SC right now is 48 degrees.
The high today is projected to be 74.
I love cool nights and warm days. They don't last, of course, and it will soon be warmer and warmer and then hotter and hotter.

I will not be eating the peeps or the circus peanuts
-
Or the jelly beans
-
Or licorice for that matter
-
I crave chocolate
-
There are other types of licorice besides the standard anise flavored. It's not my favorite, either.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I had a dream that DR elmore3003 and i were travelling in a car (Larry was driving). I was selecting CDs, and we were discussing Jason Graae, who was featured on one of the CDs. Then the dream abruptly ended.
-
I also dreamt that I was singing in a choir. We were singing a piece that had a text bit about sparkling things, and every time that came by, we had to flash sparkly things at the audience. Weird. Or maybe just another day.
-
Good morning, all.

It's simply too too.

Tutu?

Do they make gazelle-sized tutus?

I suppose they must.

Shel Silverstein would be proud.
I had been surprised (not sure why I was surprised) to have learned that Shel Silverstein wrote the Loretta Lynn hit song "One's On the Way."

~~~PROCEDURE AND SMOOTH-SAILING TRANSPORTATION VIBES~~~ for DR elmore3003 this morning!!!!!!!
Same wishes for easy transportation to Larry.
-
Pain-go-away vibes to Ron P!
-
It will be a relatively quiet birthday on Monday, relative to the past two years, when it was on the weekend - so there was a wee bit of event stuff going on IIRC, maybe just because of the day of the week.
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE.
Vibes for DR RON PULLIAM.
-
Book vibes for MR BK.
-
I enjoyed the notes.
-
Tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. I have my six month appt. with my oncologist. I am hoping he puts me on yearly visits like my radiation doctor and surgeon.
-
Another showing today at 5 p.m.
-
Yes I did DR TCB. It has been many years since I listened to ANY BS records and I guess the radiation and chemo separated the LP in my mind into two recordings.
For some reason I was sure she had recorded TWO Broadway albums but I was incorrect.
-
DR RON PULLIAM congrats on getting your work almost all done.
We have a Tractor Supply Store in town right next to Ollie's. I have never been inside it.....but perhaps it is time for a trip there.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I am back from the vampire. My "annual" "wellness" exam (which I'm already way late on) is next week, so just did the labs.
-
TOD
Mostly earlier ones, since not much of what he's done lately is of interest.
Ed Wood
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - and, by extension:
The Rum Diary, since he definitely "got" Hunter S. Thompson
The Ninth Gate, even if his character does silly things
Sleepy Hollow
I guess Edward Scissorhands was okay, but I remember it more for the elderly and fragile Vincent Price.
-
So, day before yesterday I got a SHOE.
Last night I got a ROCK. Which partly knocked over the music stand and came to rest on the MacBook...for which I can only thank the goddesses that it was a rock made of FOAM. Or whatever the material is.
I need to put up an attractive little white picket fence at the edge of the stage behind me. Just for me. Just to protect my little piece of land.
-
BK mentions California Pizza Kitchen. I've only ever eaten there once, in their restaurant at the Mirage in Las Vegas on one of the business trips. I liked whatever pizza I had (who knows, it was a quarter of a century ago), but what always stuck with me was liking their key lime pie.
-
DR CHAS SMITH you will need to apply for combat pay.
A picket fence is a good idea.....or a basketball hoop & scoreboard.
-
I liked Johnny Depp from his 21 Jump Street days.
And:
Ed Wood
Cry Baby
-
I love Sleepy Hollow! It's one of my favorite movies.
-
Access-a-Ride was on time, so I got to my appointment early. The techniucian saw me 20 minutes early and I was finished before my actual appointment time. I did not want to wait an hour for pickup aso I called AAR, canceled, and took a taxi home. I sit here with Thatch lounging across my shoulders and purring happily.
-
I hope so, too!
That makes me smile.
"Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee" dance.
TOD:
Cry-Baby
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Don Juan de Marco
-
I thought about Don Juan de Marco, but the one time I watched it I wasn't really in the mood and it wasn't memorable for me. I know it has a pretty favorable reputation, and I'll give it another go sometime.
"Syllabus" is only one letter away from "Syllabub."
Coincidence? I think not!
DR RON PULLIAM congrats on getting your work almost all done.
I think you will be surprised, if not amazed.
I am back from my doctor's appointment.
He is taking my ailment very seriously and thinks I will need to visit physiotherapy as a first stop. They will decide if more is needed. He entered a request for an appointment in the VA system. If there are no immediate openings, a Community Care facility may be offered, hopefully one nearby.
He went down the list of all the possibilities -- including just a temporary setback that might be alleviated with steroid shots -- some of which are a bit scary, but you just never know.
One thing he thought, however, was that I should cancel my cataract surgery and the three pre-op visits until my pain issues are resolved.
I have to agree with that and have cancelled them all. My eye doctor is going to be a bit surprised, but if she calls me I will explain it all to her.
-
Sigh.
The work is ongoing, but a near finish is still in the offing.
I am ready to enjoy it.
-
"Syllabus" is only one letter away from "Syllabub."
Coincidence? I think not!
The name "Syllabub" was conceived by T S Eliot as a blend of the words "silly" and "Beelzebub" i.e. ...
Syllabus: 1650s, "table of contents of a series of lectures, etc.," from Late Latin syllabus "list," ultimately a misreading of Greek sittybos "parchment label, table of contents," of unknown origin. The misprint appeared in a 15c. edition of Cicero's "Ad Atticum" (see OED). Had it been a real word, the proper plural would be syllabi.
It has to be a coincidence, because there is no relationship between the words.
Once I get comfortable and am not experiencing pain, I am loath to move from my position. As such, I am in my computer chair at my computer.
Hence, all this ad libbing.
I’m in a real empathic mood today.
As in don’t cross my path.
Nice to see Randy Graff get some love in the reviews for Mr. Saturday Night.
But I’m not thrilled with this lyric: Everybody’s acting like an asshole/Yet somehow it turns out to be my fault/Oy gevalt!
I miss Sondheim. And Comden and Green. Even if the lyric comes from Green’s daughter.
~~SORTING IT ALL OUT MEDICAL VIBES~~~ for DR Ron Pulliam!!!!!!!!!
DR Ron Pulliam, I was just joking. But I do love word derivations.
Well, Miss Green is a legend in her own mind.
You'd think...RIGHT? But no.
Let the joyous news be spread:
The painting of the exterior of the house (trim, porch ceilings and frames, doors) is done!
The porch is now screened.
The porch man is also grouting some steps and will then paint my shutters. The shutters will probably be done tomorrow.
But otherwise, it's almost a done deal.
-
That's great, DR Ron Pulliam.
-
Also,
-
FOUR!!!!
I meant to say earlier that it really seems like DR George and company have got that show up on the boards in record time. It seems like just last week that you had your first rehearsal.
Shel Silverstein would be proud.
I expected therapy but not the suggestion to cancel your cataract surgery. It makes sense though to focus on one issue first. Vibes you get relief.
Thanks, Jane. I was really dreading my three appointments on Monday, all separated by a 90-minutes or so difference. I am sure they need to do them separately -- one was an eye exam, one was about anesthesia for the operation, and the third was a pre-op briefing about after-care.
-
Tomorrow will be a boon for my sleep. Even though I have been getting plenty of sleep, I have not wanted to get up when I did because of workers coming, or appointments I had to keep, etc.
I plan on sleeping until sleep won't have me any longer!!
Even when you feel good, three appointments for one procedure sounds a bit much.
I agree ;D
My, my. Aspic. Next!
-
Timothy Hutton did a TV version of Nero Wolfe. I haven’t seen it.
-
I saw a clip and I liked him in it.
-
We are going out to dinner with friends.
-
We are just walking to the office building next door where the nice restaurant is conveniently located.
-
Since I don't know if I will return tonight......
-
'night
-
Nice evening out vibes for DR JANE.
-
Glad to hear that DR RON PULLIAM's project is nearing its end.
And I also think that is good advice from your doctor......
-
I really only know Timothy Hutton from Ordinary People.....and that movie is hard to watch in places.
-
Back early from final dress rehearsal, which went pretty well.
And now for the most brutal part of this gig: Getting up in time to leave the house at 6:30 am tomorrow to play the one morning show we've got. After that, it's one show tomorrow night and two on Saturday, and the same next weekend.
-
No flying props or cast members or anything to report this evening. Made it feel kind of like a night off.
-
At least you didn't see any "flying dead things" like BK did in the house he used to own.
-
And page 5 gets off to an inauspicious start.
-
Let's change that.
-
:)
-
What's the word on what's behind the grout, DR vixmom?
-
Many people don't know that in Lord Lloyd-Webber's original draft, the show was called Aspects of Aspic.
-
But it wobbled too much.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Many people don't know that in Lord Lloyd-Webber's original draft, the show was called Aspects of Aspic.
Better than Aspics of Love. Or the oxymoronic Aspics You’ll Love.
-
Nice night of dance classes. I was too tired still to do much. But the students were having fun. That’s what matters.
-
Watching the rest of Murphy’s Romance. Not a great movie. But two great character actors, Charles Lane and Georgann Johnson, are in it. And it has an easy charm.
-
Once I get comfortable and am not experiencing pain, I am loath to move from my position. As such, I am in my computer chair at my computer.
Once it's posted, it is!
-
Starting Spider-Man No Way Home. Why? Dunno.
-
Tonight, I watched "A Matter of Life and Death" and about half of "Somewhere in Time".
The latter film I saw in 1980 and was charmed by it, but also felt it a bit much in some of the acting. However, Arthur was cool (he was the old codger in the present and the little boy in the past) and Jane Seymour was both beautiful and wondeful in that scene in the play where she goes off script and speaks of the man she loves...if he were real.
-
Susan Stroman got fairly good reviews for directing the nonmusical POTUS, which sounds hilarious. I'm really liking the sounds of some of the stuff opening this week on Broadway, for the first time in ages.
-
I meant to say earlier that it really seems like DR George and company have got that show up on the boards in record time. It seems like just last week that you had your first rehearsal.
I know! We're running the whole show and act one went pretty well.
-
We're about to start act two and I'm much less confident on my second act choreo than that in the first act. ::)
-
As I always say, it'll be what it'll be!
;)
-
Have fun, George.
-
Thanks, John!
-
I’m an hour into spider-Man and can say it’s a great teen movie that somehow feels like a Ross Hunter movie courtesy all the boomer actors in guest-starring roles. This feels like Love Boat meets Marvel. There’s Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe, Jamie Foxx, Marisa Tomei, J.K. Simmons and Thomas Haden Church. I half expect Carol Channing or Ethel Merman to put in an appearance.
The script is utter nonsense.
-
Good night, all.
-
And we're done...time for notes.
-
And yes, I know I need to work on the finale choreo. :-\
-
Yes I did DR TCB. It has been many years since I listened to ANY BS records and I guess the radiation and chemo separated the LP in my mind into two recordings.
V
For some reason I was sure she had recorded TWO Broadway albums but I was incorrect.
Actually, Jrand, you were correct. The second Broadway album is called “Back To Broadway.” I looked over the titles from the first Broadway album, and it certainly a treasure trove of Sondheim songs.
I didn't know that, either.
Hi, Tom.
-
Tomorrow, I want to get to work early so that I can leave early.
I normally work extra time in the week so that I go to my mom's and play cards, but with rehearsals, I haven't been able to.
PAGE SIX DANCE!!
Hello, George.
