And the word of the day is: DURABLE!
And a very happy birthday to the Vixter!
Mother and daughter are the same age. Amazing.
DR John G., loved your description of the Batman movie. Did they restore this cut scene?
Great photo, Vixmom!

I just opened a package from an Abebooks dealer. The seller listed it as "very good" condition. Well, the dumbass vender did not mention it wasa former libreary copy with library marks, stamps, and labels, Why does this ass think it's in "very good" condition. It's in goddamned USED condition. This is hap[pening far too often on Abebooks and Amazon, and it really is working my last nerve.
I have a meat loaf in the oven, but I am not optimistic about the outcome.
And a very happy birthday to the Vixter!
Thank you on her behalf!
I hope everyone is sitting down …..
I have some shocking news
She’s 29 today
I see all this talk of hand pies on the Internet. Hand pies.
Why the discrimination?
Why not foot pies and elbow pies?
These are the things I ponder.

Ron, I had a haircut this week. I was 2.5 years overdue.
A plea for book recommendations for Mom. She loved A Gentleman in Moscow. She would not like The Lincoln Highway. She loved the book that you recommended, Ginny, about the blue people of Kentucky.

There were two similar books out about the same time. If it was The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek, there is now a sequel out called The Book Woman's Daughter. These books are by Kim Michele Richardson.

Thank you. It was. Ginny recommended it. Both Mom and I enjoyed it.
DR JOHN G my misgivings were premature. The meatloaf looks relief map of Hiroshima - but it doesn't take bad at all. So I will just look away while it eat.
I always thought Somewhere in Time was a ripoff of Jack Finney's wonderful Time and Again. Matheson's novel was punblished in 1991; Finney's fantastic book in 1970. Why has this novel never been made into a film?
One of my very dearest New York friends who retired and moved back to Milwaukee, his hometown, is fading from cancer and in hospice. His sister writes that he has taken a turn for the worst and stopped eating. He could use some vibes for an easy passing.
I could use some vibes for a broken heart.

George that YouTube of the transcript had me roaring with laughter
I have feared many things I’m my life, but never death by tomato
Love your photo, DR vixmom.

Maybe it needs to be a musical.
;)
Happily, the galley and covers were ready for me in an e-mail. Doug has signed off on the covers and I'm waiting for Grant to eyeball the galley.
Dinner last night was very nice. We all agreed our meals were exceptionally good.
The baby seal has been clubbed. I want the work week to end.
Gooey butter cake sounds delicious.

I hate it when that happens...ESPECIALLY when I'd buy copies for the library where I work! We CAN'T have another library's identification on OUR items!
>:(

Have you seen the videos? This horror must be stopped
DR George have you purchased books with other library marks or only had them donated?
It just happened to be copies of a talking book on CD that was supposed to be "like new" that came in as VERY used library copies. Even the packaging was broken and VERY obviously used!
The bad ones that the library received were returned for a full refund.

Jane, when I was at the ophthalmologist the other day he recommended plugs for my dry eyes. They insert a tiny plug in the tear duct to slow the drainage of the tears. i had never heard of it before. Have you? I'm a bit reluctant. He also recommended two types of eye drops that I haven't tried. I'll try them first, then decide about the plugs.
DR John did you find a book for your mother?
Two things that kind of astonished me in Paul Ford's book:
[1] that he managed to maintain these high-profile jobs while not being sober
[2] the sloppiness with which two major Sondheim scores were recorded (Sunday and Woods). That, and the alternate commentary track from Jonathan Tunick on the Company recording session documentary where they discovered at the end of the day that one of the instruments didn't even have their mic plugged in.
One weeps for what was lost and what might have been.
Back from a great show with an absolutely fantastic audience - a little over half a house, which was fine, but they were so vocal and so with the show - cheering and numbers got the biggest applause they've ever gotten. Really fun.
I don’t like it, reverse it!

And thank you also for your kind comments about my new picture
Somehow, or other, I flipped some switch on my Amazon Music page that made the program to seek out similar music after the CD I picked is finished. Now, somehow, I have unswitched it, but I want it back!
