Well, you've read the notes, the notes had plenty of thus and thusly sprinkled throughout, and now it is time for you to post until the thus and thusly cows come home.

I had a long dream about trying to get to a movie with my goddaughter Charl;otte. It was also one of those dreams where we were in both Manhattan and Middletown, Ohio.

Now for the bad news. My friend Bruce Pomahac, former director of music for the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization, was moved yesterday from his home to hospice. From what his sister Linda has relayed, I don't think he will survive to Monday. Please keep those vibes and prayers coming.

Oh no! He’s the one you spoke of yesterday? How awful, and sad. You always spoke so highly of him, and it was such a pleasure to meet him at one of the Encores! rehearsals. I am so sorry.

Speaking of Bruce Pomahac and R&H, I am quite in love with the Cinderella score. Of course this is not only the modern-day revival, but the reduced tour orchestration to boot. And the kids in the orchestra are challenged by some of the passages here and there, while two of us are playing synth books. And yet with all of that said, I am blown away by the music and of the orchestration that still illuminates. It’s pure magic.

I preordered Book Woman’s Daughter. Any more suggestions?

She will probably read it before I do.  Please let me know if she likes it.

Hmmm, I liked the book I just finished.  Considering the subject there is a lot of killing.  There is the true story of Mila Pavlichenko's friendship with Eleanor Roosevelt while in the US to promote goodwill, and war help, from our government.  Mixed in with that portion of the story is a suspenseful, completely fiction story of an attempt on the president's life.

A book with a happy ending.....

Grayson by Lynne Cox
"The true story of long-distance swimmer Lynne Cox's ocean encounter with an 18-foot baby whale and her efforts to reunite "Grayson" with his mother - part mystery, part magical tale."  She was 17 years old at the time.

Thanks.  I have Refresh Digital PF & Refresh Tears, no preservatives, as those are the ones I found to buy.  The Digital drops have an extra ingredient polysorbate.  I have no idea if this is a benefit to me or not since I prefer the plain Refresh Tears.

Please let me know if you notice a difference between the two drops you ordered, and if you have a preference.   Once I use up my Digital PF drops I will try the one you prefer.

I did not care for today’s word.

It gave me a headache, too.

I agree...but at least it wasn't VIVID again. ::)

Went to a jazz/supper club tonight and heard a wonderful program, a singer's tribute to Doris Day on what would have been her 100th year. The food was great, too.

In honor of her birthday I would like to stay at her hotel in Carmel.

John G, has your mother read Rosamunde Pilcher's COMING HOME? I do love that book. I also like her WINTER SOLSTICE.

I believe she has read something of hers. I don't remember the title.

I have turned back to The Forsyte Saga for a few minutes tonight. I really forgot how much I loved this series. This is the first time I saw Damian Lewis, who is perfect. You just love to hate him. And yet, he manages to make the man's shortcomings and pathetic streak worthy of some note of pity.

The recipe on the box didn’t work, so I had to improvise a new filling (apricot-coconut instead of pudding that never set). I didn’t add any fresh banana.

The topping is crushed vanilla wafers and toasted coconut.

Back from a very fun show - a few cast members were fumfering and forgetting lines, which I find completely odd five weeks into a run - just baffling to me. The audience ate it all up, however - about half a house, maybe a bit more. Two new folks did well - have some minor notes for them, which I'll give them prior to the matinee.

The extra thing we did before the show actually went really well  - about thirty people, very receptive, and the little commentary bits got lots o' laughs and then I had fun singing Ode to NoHo.

We brought in Sharkey's for the cast that did the extra thing. I had one little helping of Spanish rice and a couple of bites of chicken and vegetables - literally just two cubes of chicken. So, I just ordered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich that should be here in about twenty minutes, hopefully. I'm starving.

Rehearsal is supposed to start at 3:00, so we need to be there by 2:30 or so, so that we can be tested, which takes 15-20 minutes, depending on the test that they use.
