The only Broadway musical I ever left at intermission
-
Worst musical? I've seen so many:
Ka-Boom, something dreadful from the early 1980s in which the survivors of a nuclear holocaust must audition for God to continue living
Carrie, the original production was pathetic
Xanadu, heartless camp
Moulin Rouge, putrid, putrid, very loud, and terminally stupid

Good morning, all.

We're in for a chilly rainy day. Yuck.
-
Tonight I throw the glass slippers into the fireplace.
Or something like that.
If I do it right at midnight, will there be special effects?
-
In other news, it seems to be a blah weekend for many of us.
Closing vibes for BK, vibes for all of us, and I personally look forward to a day of rest tomorrow.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Congratulations on your significant anniversary, DR John G.
-
Glad you had a good opening, DR George.
-
George, is Harry the gay boyfriend?
Yes, he is.
-
TOD:
Roza, directed by Hal Prince.
Starring Georgia Brown as a.... wait for it... prostitute!
The set didn't work. The songs were instantly forgettable.
My favorite line from the book was: "Ah.... you do voodoo, do you?"
Yes, there was a hint of the occult, as well.
-
Please tell Kathy “Hello” from me. We spend Thanksgiving together.
I will!
-
Glad you had a good opening, DR George.
Thanks, Singdaw!

DR George, where's the band? Is there a band?
-
I always think there’s a band, kid.

Is there an echo in here?

I'm almost tempted to look up Diana the Musical on Netflix, just to experience the awfulness.

Dreams: So weird lately.
Last night, I was in a department store looking for men's suits. A clerk asked if he could help. I told him what I was after and he looked around and said, "Well, where were they put?" The store was being remodeled and the men's wear was missing.
He finally found a large storage room filled with goods, includng men's wear, and went rummaging through trying to find suits. At that point, my boss popped in and he was carrying his brief case and a fancy purse that belonged to a co-worker. I told him why I was there, and he told me that the bank near our office had shut its doors and might not reopen. It had something to do with the owner of the building wanting it for another purpose. It was a Bank of America, so I knew the bank was solvent. He then handed me the purse to take back to my co-wprker and disappeared.
As the co-worker wasn't a favorite person, and the purse was particularly gaudy, I asked someone for a paper bag into which I might put it. No one could find any paper bags.
I then work up. Thank goodness.

We had several major storms blow through late yesterday afternoon, including large stones of hail. After they were over, I went out onto my porch and found that one of the screen panels recently redone had come loose and was flapping around.
Sigh.
I called the guy who had done it, and he said he could stop by next week to repair it.
-
I guess my pick for the Kentucky Derby would be Epicenter.
-
What's for din-din?
-
I’m glad DR Ron woke up before having to walk back out through the store carrying that purse.

If he had had to, I'm sure DR Ron would have rocked it.
-
Happy birthday, DR Danise!
-
Quite a few dishes washes. I'm tired.
-
It's supposed to hit 103 today. Yikes.

It's supposed to hit 103 today. Yikes.
Better there than here! I had heard earlier in the week that we would be sunny and in the 89s this weekend, but today's it's partly cloudy and the high is projected to e 79.
Weather patterns change on a dime sometimes.
-
I’m glad DR Ron woke up before having to walk back out through the store carrying that purse.
Me, TOO!
If he had had to, I'm sure DR Ron would have rocked it.
I shudder to consider that.

I'm up, I'm up - five hours of sleep.
-
I really don't want to go have a light breakfast, but I see no other way to pass the time, really. They're having a play reading at Group Rep but that's probably the last place I want to be.
-
I just remembered a scene near the end of "Dial M for Murder". John Williams' detective gives Grace Kelly's purse to one of his policemen and tells him to take it back to the station for Ray Milland to claim.
The policeman puts the purse on his arm, and Williams stops him and tells him to put it in his pocket...that he can't walk down the street with it on his arm.
-
From DR John:
This week is the 30th anniversary of my giving up smoking.
CONGRATULATIONS!
-
Good morning.
-
Once my purse fell out of the car when I opened the door. Someone turned it in to security. I pushed the button on the talkie box and asked if anyone turned it in. A couple minutes later, a big black man came walking out with a leopard spotted purse on his arm. I told him he looked quite fashionable.
-
LOL :)
-
I'm trying something called Hilo Life, low-carb corn chips. They're flimsy, but surprisingly, the flavor is not bad. And they complement the salsa. So, I'm happy.
I found them at Costco.

DR RON PULLIAM the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream indicates that you would like your present life to be as regulated as your work life was and that you are working toward accomplishing that. It also says that you feel that a person's clothing represents their position in life - but that you yourself sometimes dress in opposition to your feeling of the day.

I finished mowing the lawn - and have been accepted by Humana for the GOLD Plan......it was active May 1 as I requested, which is good news.
So we shall see what happens with my appointment and scan from last week.
-
It turned out to be a lovely day here weatherwise.....so I finished mowing my front lawn.
-
Kids, get off my front lawn!
-
It's pouring out...but nice and dry in here
-
Enjoy, Vixmom.

Thanks, Jrand!

DR George, where's the band? Is there a band?
No band. We're using tracks. ::)

Hi, George. How was your birthday?
It was nice. I just worked, and my co-workers took me out to lunch, then I had our final dress rehearsal in the evening.
-
Saturday afternoon greetings! Desk work for me today, then I have to knit, knit, knit. I'm trying to finish a blanket for Charlotte's baby sister before the "sprinkle" (a mini baby shower) that's taking place 2 weeks from today at the other grandparents' house in Michigan. I'm binge-watching "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" while knitting.
-
Today the family is going to my mom's and I'm bringing her a Mother's Day gift, so I'll probably get gift cards for my birthday...which I certainly don't mind. :)
-

I've had those, not from Costco, though. I enjoyed them, too.

TOD - "Ruthless," performed by our local community theatre :P

Good luck with the blanket, and enjoy the binging, Ginny!
-
I'm now off to my mom's, then I'll head down to Centralia for our first Saturday night performance.
Have a good day, all!
-
Back from a breakfast burrito with just bacon and cheese - very small and two eggs, what seemed like one piece of bacon and about an ounce of cheese, so pretty calorie-friendly.
-
Important envelope was there, so I went to the bank and deposited its contents. Not much, but something.
-
She of the Evil Eye has left the premises and someone is coming at one to pick up some CDs.
-
In an attempt to clean up a few things, I have managed to create another load of dishes.
-
I finished mowing the lawn - and have been accepted by Humana for the GOLD Plan......it was active May 1 as I requested, which is good news.
So we shall see what happens with my appointment and scan from last week.
Fingers crossed your insurance company covers the cost.

I really could have used a sprinkle shower with Craig. Half of our baby stuff was borrowed for Bryan and we had to buy new for Craig.
-
It is very hot outside.
-
So, naturally I decided to do a little gardening.
-
Four!
-
I also picked up some movies at the library. And ran to the supermarket.
-
I’m now a puddle of sweat.
-
Must take a shower.
-
I bet DR VIXMOM is excited.....excited and scared......I read that in the bio for DR GEORGE in the program.
-
Bruce do you plan on adding 'Tis the Season to Be Murdered to Goodreads?
-
Today was the first really spring-like day here.
-
I fear we shall go straight from winter to summer.
-
But at least got a nice walk in.
-
And a nap.
-
Lucky #100!
-
Computer froze for no reason whatsoever. Shortly I shall be on my way to sup and then to the theater.
-
Out of Facebook jail and have posted about our final two shows and also thanked Mr. Zuckerberg and his bots and algorithms.
-
DR Jennifer I know tomorrow is going to be a very hard day for you. Sending hugs and vibes of comfort.
-
80-1 winner at the Derby today......Rich Strike.....in for a horse that was scratched yesterday....EIGHTY TO ONE!!!
-
Whoa!
-
When I lived in Connecticut, I regularly attended a Kentucky Derby party where mint juleps were the order of the day.
-
Good night, friends.
-
80-1 winner at the Derby today......Rich Strike.....in for a horse that was scratched yesterday....EIGHTY TO ONE!!!
Amazing.
-
Keith is popping corn.
-
Once again I will not be eating any :(
-
We are going to watch the last two episodes of season 2 of The Expanse.
-
Popcorn would be a nice treat, except I am not hungry.
-
And my stomach would get mad at me for eating it when I am full.
-
'night
-
I bet DR VIXMOM is excited.....excited and scared......I read that in the bio for DR GEORGE in the program.
I almost added "(a Sondheim reference)" to my bio. ;D
-
Back to The Forsyte Saga.
-
It’s still 97 degrees outside at 9:40 pm CT.
-
I don’t know how much longer I can stay awake, but I want to get through episode 2.
-
The Benedictine went over well. Everyone liked it. And I still have some leftovers.
-
Five!
-
I just remember that I have to usher tomorrow.
-
The audience likes it...but they're hootin' & hollerin'. ::)
-
I absolutely loved Into the Woods
-
Good night, all.
-
Yay for both Vixmom and George!
-
I absolutely loved Into the Woods
Great!
-
I absolutely loved Into the Woods
Me too!! One of my favorite Sondheim scores.
-
I watched all 8 episodes of season 1 of "Outer Range" on Amazon Prime. It stars Josh Brolin and Lili Taylor and Will Patton and a bunch of other pretty darned good actors.
It's a strange tale which I enjoyed. A little too much singing by a couple of characters, one of whom seems to be auditioning for The Voice (to himself, that is).
Odd, with background music that is just a tad much for my taste but it does not detract from my fascination with where the story is going.
-
Back from dinner with Peyton and mom - the Smokehouse. I had a wedge salad and a shrimp cocktail and only two tiny slivers of the garlic cheese bread, most of which was eaten by Peyton - it's her favorite thing.
-
I'll tell you one thing: There is nothing like a wonderful performance to pick up the spirits - as you know, my generally happy spirits have not been much in evidence this week due to a lot of stress, but tonight's show just perked me right up. A couple of sound issues and one memory lapse, but everything else was stellar and we had a pretty full house and they were GREAT.
-
I’m now a puddle of sweat.
Maybe you shouldn’t have ran!
-
80-1 winner at the Derby today......Rich Strike.....in for a horse that was scratched yesterday....EIGHTY TO ONE!!!
Second highest odds in Derby history.
-
Good night, friends.
9:17 p.m. on a Saturday night? You are a party animal.
-
Either that, or you two have a wild sex life!
-
I absolutely loved Into the Woods
Who was in the show? I love that musical, too.
-
It rained almost the entire day.
-
My sister is hosting dinner tomorrow. The unvaccinated great nephew and his girl friend will be there.
-
I have a bad cold, and I am not sure how I am feeling.
-
T.O.D.
Wow! That is a tough one. DIANA certainly ranks right up near the top but I must have seen worse. Maybe if I sleep on it tonight and see if something else comes to mind.
-
I know that there are some people who will be surprised that I didn’t mention VELVEETA. I don’t think it was that terrible.
-
Possibly, OF THEE I SING, but that may be more the production rather than the show.
-
Tonight's Mamma Mia! was obviously filled with young friends of the young actors.
-
Possibly, OF THEE I SING, but that may be more the production rather than the show.
I really like the studio recording that was done back in the 1980s.
-
And the sequel, Let Them Eat Cake.
-
Where did your coworkers take you for lunch?
-
The Mamma Mia! audience really did enjoy it.
-
The hootin' and hollerin' didn't detract...too much.
-
Where did your coworkers take you for lunch?
We went to La Patrona (https://lapatronatumwater.com/). There used to be a restaurant called El Sarapé in that building.
-
The Mamma Mia! really did enjoy it.
?

Spoo! I forgot the word "Audience"...The Mamma Mia! audience really did enjoy it. ;D
