Well, you've read the notes, the notes had malaise, and now it is time for you to post until the days of malaise cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: AEGIS!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Thanks for the updates, DR vixmom. I hope Steve's recovery is complete and swift.
-
I had another bad night of sleep. Today I need to finish clearing the extra blankets and quilt from my bed. The temperatures are supposed to go into the 90s this weekend,
-
DR Jrand71, I suspect that, if you grew up in the midwest, you were raised on French's mustard. I first heard of Gulden's in the lyrics to "My Last Supper" on the soundtrack of Jacques Brel is Alive and Well. Since I've lived in Manhattan, like DR vxmom, I only use Gulden'sc Spicyy Brown mustard.
-
TOD
I feel I've passed the Days Stage andf moved directly to Life Malaise. If I did not have three furbabies aftere me for their needs, I would go to bed and never get out of it again.
-
Good morning to all.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I’ve been awake since 5:00 and up since 6:00, having accepted that I shan’t be getting back to sleep.
-
It was an odd night, with several awakenings but with an oddly restful feeling each time. But since I really didn’t get a great deal of sleep, I shall hope to make up for it tonight.
-
Very glad to hear that they have brought vixdad out of hibernation, and are working on finding the problem. Vibes for a speedy and thorough recovery.
-
Today:
1. Work on keyboard programming.
2. Get booster #2. Got a 3:30 pm appointment at Walgreens.
-
3. Probably spend the evening ketchuping on the last three weeks of 9-1-1.

I was happy to hear the Good News about Singsong’s BIL!
-
Following upon the mustard posts...
I grew up on the standard yellow, but branched out probably just after college years into both Gulden’s spicy brown and Dijon, so those tastes have been part of me from at least that relatively early age. I later added various “Deli” mustards to my repertoire. And of course there’s the hot Chinese stuff that’s useful whenever you need a new hole drilled into your skull. So I do like my mustards, but it’s always nice to return to the plain yellow stuff. It’s a good thing.
As for malaise, only Hellman’s/Best will do.
-
I was happy to hear the Good News about Singsong’s BIL!
Yes! I am remiss — remiss, I tell you! — in mentioning that before.
-
Good morning, all.

I have morning malaise.

Kitty cleanup accomplished, bed made, and comforter and grandma's quilt folded and ready to be put away. I swear that comforter weighs over 25 lbs. Wrestling with it quite wore me out.
-
Once I put the comforter into the cedar trunk, I need to re-glue a coat rack to my bathroom door. It fell last night, just before 1:00a.m. with a loud clatter. I got up to insure the cats were all right and uninjured - at that point I didn't know the source of the noise = amnd they spent a happy night lying on my jackets on the kitchen-bathroom floor area./
-
I heard on CBS This Morning that a study of felines finds that cats know their names and those of any other cats in the household, as well as their owners' names, and when they are staring off into nothing, they are listewning to everything going on around them.
-
Spies. They’re all spies.
-
DR JEANNE it is possible that your friend is a key to finding a new abode...but certainly the trek to the new place and the garden and vines tell us that you shouldn't overlook an opportunity because it is not completely in your view.
And perhaps it is not quite time.....OR you may have a second opportunity at a previously seen or rejected space.
-
Interesting mustard revelations.....I guess it is the spicy taste of the Dijon I didn't like - so I probably wouldn't like a mustard with SPICY in its name.....and brown mustard is an abomination that I think is forbidden in at least three books of the Hebrew Scriptures.
-
Malais......I listen to music, especially music from shows I have been involved in.....I come HERE to HHW.....I look at a book of photographs of places I haven't been....NOT PHOTOS ON THE INNER WEB.
I rearrange the clothes in my closet by color and get rid of anything I haven't worn in more than a year.
-
I just got an email that said "Work is fun if your outfit is cute!"
I will have to remember that.

Most definitely two.
-
Good morning!
-
More vibes for vixdad.
-
Yellow mustard for me too.
-
I just remembered I made mustard one year for Christmas presents. The recipe was straightforward, the end results were pleasing, at least to mustard fans. Only thing forgotten in all this was a warning that pouring boiling water on your mustard seeds basically releases mustard gas in the air. Not exactly what you want to be breathing in. That caused a momentary setback.

The first letter on line 1 was tried as the third letter on line 2 and then the 4th letter on line 3. After that, there was no way of mis-guessing what the actual word was.
It's one of THOSE mornings, mentally.
-
The word of the day is a very good one.
I have used it a couple of times on wordle. It is five letters and has three vowels.
-
Great night's sleep. Cannot complain one whit. Slept through the entire night without waking up once.
-
My physical therapy appointment is Thursday morning. I am managing my pain levels rather well, but very much want to get to the bottom of the problem and finding a resolution.
-
I have accomplished quite a lot for me this morning. My Mac has been updating for about 90 minutes now, although the computer screen for the past 30 minutes tells me it's about 10 minutes more. What the fat hell?
-
I am currently on my MacBook.
-
Yes DR JOHN G you definitely need more cute outfits.
-
Continued vibes for DR VIXDAD.
-
I was just informed that I now have to go back to the office 10 days a month. That makes no sense. Eight maybe. But 10?
-
And when gas is so high?
-
I have morning malaise.
All this talk of malaise instantly puts a song in my head...The Manhattan Transfer's Malaise En Malaisie (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2FKmNpKNRM). :)

And when gas is so high?
And a free-association song cue...That Cat is High (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22dcQTTFjVU)! ;D

From George:
I'm still waiting for Jim Butcher's second book in the Cinder Spires series. Book 1 came out in 2015. It's now 2022 and still no book 2. :-\
I like when I begin a series after the last book has been released.
-
DR Vixmom I am relieved to see your news.

From DR TCB:
I understand people being anxious for another book or film, but I don’t think they have the right (or write) when it comes to control someone’s artistic gifts. I think it was 1985 when I wrote Elliott Roosevelt and warned him that if he didn’t publish another mystery, I was going to stop voting for his father.
;D
-
TCB are the books good? I have never read any of them.
-
I heard on CBS This Morning that a study of felines finds that cats know their names and those of any other cats in the household, as well as their owners' names, and when they are staring off into nothing, they are listewning to everything going on around them.
I don't know about staring off into nothing but it is obvious they know the names of all the pets in the house.
-

Good morning, friends.

Sorry I haven't caught up yet. But if not previously mentioned, the government is now offering a third round of COVID tests sent free to your door. This time, you can get 8 tests.
-
I refuse.
-
I refuse.
Me, too.
-
Glad to hear of DR vixmom's guarded good news, and hoping for much more to come.
-
I definitely do not have any cute outfits.
-
I my fridge are French's yellow and also Dijon. I like them each for different purposes. The dijon definitely in a vinaigrette.

I didn't hear about Jim Butcher's Codex Alera series until several years after it was finished. It only had six books and definitely ended.

I've now ordered mine.

I haven't used the first round of covid tests the government sent me.
I did use the N95 masks they sent.

My iMac is down and needs serious help, the upgrade screwed it up, I suspect, because a 9 year-old computer is too outdated to accept new upgrades. I'm trying to rebuild it from the hard drive. Damn.

I enjoyed both the Codex Alera series and the single Cinder Spires book. They're also both in the fantasy realm and not sci-fi.

I am back on my iMac! All is good.
-
I am back on my iMac! All is good.
Good! Especially since Apple supposedly blocks upgrades that any given machine shouldn't be trying to run.
I don't know what the cutoff is going to be on my 2015 MacBook Pro, but I'm stubbornly still on Catalina and it stubbornly still tries to get me to upgrade to Monterey.
-
I ordered the additional tests.
The one thing I totally missed out on was any free masks.
-
I was just in Shop Rite picking up half a dozen things. As I perused the condiments aisle, I suddenly knew what would be waiting for DR Jrand71 in Room 101 in the event he should ever, um, be assigned there.
:)
-
DR Elmore, is that the new version of The Fantasticks we heard about maybe a year ago, I wonder? Or was that some additional one that Mr. Jones was announcing at the time? And who can keep track?
-
To the best of my knowledge, I have no cute outfits.
At the very least, let us hope not.
-
I am back on my iMac! All is good.
Whew!

I never got the free masks. My sister's boyfriend gave me some, so I didn't have to get them myself.

I don't know, but I think this all-gay version is ridiculous, and Tom needs to stop revising a perfect show.

Glad to hear your tech is back on track, DR elmore3003.

"Jim Butcher is most often called out for his writing in The Dresden Files. The books are criticized repeatedly by readers for being homophobic, even when they say they're trying not to be. Sex, sex acts, sexual assaults of all levels, and sexism is rampant in both The Dresden Files and Codex Alera."
Maybe you think these people should lighten up ;)

Oopsie!

LOL

For breakfast I have swapped out cereal for yogurt with blueberries in the hope it will lower my A1C score. If it goes up I will cross the line from pre-diabetic to diabetic.
-
The problem is, I need to eat goat yogurt. Actually I prefer Redwood Hills Farm Plain Goat Milk Yogurt to other brands so eating it isn't the problem. Finding it is. Today we went to the one store that usually has it in stock and they were out of it. Now I am out of it.
-
DR Elmore, is that the new version of The Fantasticks we heard about maybe a year ago, I wonder? Or was that some additional one that Mr. Jones was announcing at the time? And who can keep track?
Either way, it sounds unpromising.
-
It's boiling hot outside.
-
I managed to make a Costco run where I picked up a hot dog for dinner.
-
Entering the last half-hour of Valentino and the picture has flipflopped all over the place in terms of wretched excess. A truly hilarious sex scene, some interesting tango dancing, some bad acting, typical Ken Russell.

Can you alter your hours and come in early and leave early?

Maybe. I want to see, too, if I can work half-days at the office.

I have started the musical version of Cyrano with Peter Dinklage. I like a lot of things about it, but I don't love it. I wish I did. I love the story. The director, I think, may be partly to blame.
-
The lackluster score is also a problem.
-
I'll finish this tomorrow.

I never noticed that with either series...but maybe because I wasn't specifically thinking about it. I don't know. :-\

It's all about carbs...lower your carb intake (in any form) and lower your A1C.

Plain yogurt in general is low in carbs. It's all the sugars, even from natural fruits, that make it detrimental to one's blood glucose level.

Well, you've read the notes, the notes had malaise, and now it is time for you to post until the days of malaise cows come home.

Larry, will you be purchasing Ron Raines new FANTASTICKS CD?
-
TCB are the books good? I have never read any of them.
I enjoyed most of them. Nearing the end of his life, I think he and Margaret Truman were sharing the same ghostwriter.

In one book, Elliott actually mentioned his mother’s lady friend, which surprised me.

Jane, there was an article at the end of last week that said you shouldn’t worry about the expiration date on those tests. They had to print something on the side of the box, but they had no idea how long they would be good, so they just printed a random date.
-

Well, it is not perfect if you have to change the “Rape Ballet” and “It Depends on What You Pay”.

Speaking of formula shortages, yesterday at Freddie’s (Kroeger’s) almost all of the milk in the Dairy case was gone. There was maybe one or two containers.
-
But they had plenty of coffee creamer, so I was happy.

I kept thinking that George would come back, but I guess he fell asleep.
-
Of course, I kept thinking I would come back, but I never left.
-
I expect BK to arrive shortly, so I had better close for the evening.
-
Good night, none and all!
-
George has not made an appearance since 9:15 - perhaps he's reading a book.
-
New notes are up.
-
They are, they really are.
-
I kid you not.
