Well, you've read the notes, the notes had breaking news that broke, and now it is time for you to post until the breaking cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MERCURIAL!
-
Welcome fifty-five GUESTS.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well. It was quite warm last night = it was 89 F during the day - and Annabelle and Thatch joined me. I woke around midnight and all three were sleeping with me. Later, gthe temp[eratures dropped. I had one very strange dream in which the cats talked to me. I was informed they were members of an organizations such as HFTG (House Felines Therapy Group) - not the actual name in the dream since I've forgotten it - and each cat had a code name as well to report my abuses and reason for their trauma.
-
Bad news yesterday: my debit card was charged $76+ from Microsaoft yesterday. It wasn't my charge, so I called my bank. The young lady who took the case asked me if I had l;et anyone have my card and I said that I had not. Wrong! When I was at Fed Ex on Saturday, my card would not scan and I gave it to the clerk to enter the numbers.
I need to walk to my branch this morning, and I'll tell the manager that.
-
DR vixmom, I'm hoping all is now good with Steve. I'm happy he's home, and Im sure you are, too! You have a great neighbor as well.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Good morning
-
DR Ron Pulliam, [post deleted] used to be an inside joke around these parts. I don't recall its origins. Anyway, just my little (feeble) attempt at humor.
-
I have nothing to report since I just woke up
-
I am drinking coffee
-
With the last of the ALDIs hazelnut creamer
-
For some reason their creamer section has been empty for the past few days
-
We did have a nice chat with the Vixter and Vixhubby last night
-
We watched a weird movie called The Green Knight
-
We missed the beginning so maybe it would have been less weird if we had seen that part
-
It was a very warm day and neither of us had slept well for the past week so we both just kept dozing in our side by side recliners
-
I think I shall go Wordle
-
Good morning, all.
-
Got to go into the office today. Ugh.
-
Will try to get an appointment with the acupuncturist.

Got Phoodle in two, too.
-
I know this isn’t accurate because sometimes I’ve played on my phone
-
I know once I got it in one
-
Of course that’s because someone had written something about the word that made me think it was the word it was
-
So I guess that doesn’t really count
-
Glad to read that DR George and Company had a good last show.
-
TWO!!
-
DR vixmom, both you and vixdad are entitled to some good rest!
-
Laura I am sorry your show was canceled at the last moment. How disappointing
-
Sounds like George had a fine time though!
-
Pain free vibes for everyone!
-
Good morning to everyone. I hope everyone has a great week.
-
Kitty cleanup is over, and I must wend my way bankward. Ugh.
-
I am drinking coffee
Hitting the sauce again, eh?
-
Glad to read that DR George and Company had a good last show.
Thanks, Singdaw!

This time tomorrow, I will once again be at the VA...this time for a CT. My doctor thought it was time to check my innards.
Apparently, CT stands for Computed Tomography. You all probably know that, but I find it amusing to say it in full, rather than reference it as "CT".
Computed Tomography.
And it will be done in the same area where I got my X-rays done last Thursday. Oh, rapture! Oh, joy! Another long haul down corridors in a wheel chair.
-
Through Comcast/Xfinity I have Peacock and a few things on HBO MAX - although I don't get everything....I don't specifically subscribe to any streaming service because I pay too much for cable as it is.
-
I guess maybe I should tell someone about the paintings I got at Goodwill that have a sticker on the back that reads:
Gardner Museum Boston
-
NOT!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Speaking of X-rays, my doctor sent me the results of my Thursday visit and I got them Saturday.
He said they showed two things: Normal wear and tear of age (degeneration) and...A concerning cystic something or other on the left hip that has caused him to submit me for an MRI. I know something is wrong with my left hip, but I sure hope it isn't something needing an operation.
Then, he said that attending to the following things could "save your life" and afford you good health in the future. WHAT??? HUH??? SAVE MY LIFE?
What followed was a series of shots, all of which are very up-to-date except for TDaP. What, I wondered, was TDaP? So, I googled it and discovered it was the immunization against Typhoid, Diphtheria and Pertussis.
I see this guy quarterly and he has exclusive access to all my records, so I wonder now why I haven't been told I needed a TDaP round of vaccinations before now.
I find it oddly disconcerting to use such terminology just to say I need some TDaP vaccinations.
-

Maye they are from the gift shop?
-
So, let's see.
It's Monday. The mini-heat wave (two days only) broke with last night's thunderstorm, and we're looking at beautiful temperatures for the foreseeable future.
Almost time to open some windows and enjoy fresh breezes.
I have my more-or-less monthly dinner meeting with my director this evening. That will be most pleasant.
-
Oh! That's something I haven't announced here yet.
We pulled the plug on THE STREETS OF NEW YORK for this coming holiday season. There have been too many closings and missed weeks in this entire area due to Covid, and with the size of the cast required in that one and the challenges of teaching and rehearsing during the cold months, the two of us went to the theater and got their very willing blessing to kill that idea for this year and substitute it with something smaller and with less potential for risk among a bunch of people. So we'll certainly be mulling over that tonight.
-
Good morning!
-
Glad to hear that vixdad is home
-
Sorry about the Streets, ChasSmith.
-
It took 90 minutes to get to work this morning. There was a huge accident and traffic didn’t move for close to an hour. I couldn’t get off to try another route.
-
Sorry about the Streets, ChasSmith.
Thanks, but neither of us is actually sorry about it, for many reasons. We really want to do it sometime soon, which as far as I know could even be its first ever time to be presented in this area, but we felt deeply that this isn't the year for it. All of us, including the theater president, were breathing a sigh of relief when we came to this decision.
Now to decide on its replacement, and it seems like we're always trying to think of "small" shows...
-
I'm home from the bank, and I need to do the laundry I've been avoiding for days.
-
This morning is taking an ugly turn, weather-wise. I had my mornng coffee on my porch. Alexa told me it was to be partly cloudy with some sun, but also thunderstorms during the day. It is 73 degrees. I finished my coffee but soon felt a chill in the air. A few raindrops fell.
It is now VERY dark overhead and gloomy. I guess a storm is coming. It is so still and quiet that it is very unnerving.
-
I have some strawberries to clean and cut, and some loaves of pound cake to freeze.
Strawberry shortcake is in my future!!
-
I'm home from the bank, and I need to do the laundry I've been avoiding for days.
Ach! You reminded me I haven't done mine, and I have been meaning to since Friday!!!
-
Happy this:
-
THREE!!!
-
I wonder if our two (count 'em 2) guests are ghosts?
-
Thunder is rumbling over the Town of Johnston SC as I type this.
I am now getting a "severe thunderstorm warning" from the NWS via Alexa on my Bose soundbar. My local weather service also gives me voice updates on my phone, and I understand lightning is now occurring hereabouts.
Do I continue on this laptop, or shut the darned thing off?
Am I worried?
Am I afraid?
Or, am I just sort of bored with bad weather and gloomy conditions?
-
It feels like "tornado" conditions, but no word of such a thing so far.
I base that feeling on experiences I had when I lived in Lawrence, IN, just north of Indianapolis. Lots of tornadoes in that part of the country.
-

That's too bad. Good luck on finding a replacement!

I find it oddly disconcerting to use such terminology just to say I need some TDaP vaccinations.
Actually it is tetanus (not typhoid), diphtheria, and pertussis. You should get one every ten years. There should be a record of the date of your last one. I expect the vaccinations listed is something generated by the system and not put in there by your doctor.
-
Since we can unknowingly be exposed to tetanus, technically getting vaccinated could save your life ;)

I guess maybe I should tell someone about the paintings I got at Goodwill that have a sticker on the back that reads:

Good guess.

I hope Vixdad is feeling much stronger today.

Has anyone read the mysteries of Anthony Berkeley? I’m listening to The Wintringham Mystery and it’s delightful. Imagine P.G.Wodehouse as a mystery writer.
-
Smoky vegan carrot dogs. That just sounds disgusting.
-
I have heard a lot about carrot dogs, but I have never had the pleasure of trying one.

No but it sounds like a question I should ask my brother. If he hasn't read them he might want to read this.
-

It is the "smoky" part that doesn't appeal to me.

I have never heard of Anthony Berkeley, but I think I will delve into his writing. Thanks for the tip.
-
Berkeley apparently has quite a few titles to his credit on Amazon.
-
I’m ready for the work day to end.
-
I have an appointment with an acupuncturist/massage therapist in the morning.
-
My regular acupuncturist is on vacation for the next three weeks. Not acceptable, my back tells me.
-
Listening to the Ballroom cast album. What joy.

Agreed!

Had a healthy chicken Caesar salad for food.
-
Got a notice that the hardcover will arrive tomorrow - my book order should be here within the next couple of weeks.

Did some work on the computer, figured out three of the next releases, and while eating watched some of the Depp/Heard trial. I must say, that Mr. Depp's legal team is brilliant and Ms. Heard's legal team is not. In fact, the three "experts" they stupidly put on the stand today, which reeked of desperation, were decimated by Depp's lawyers, none more so than the psychiatric "expert" who came off as a complete and utter lunatic.
-
If you want some laughs, go to YouTube and find that expert's testimony and only watch the cross-examination by Depp's lawyer. You will see no finer comedy.
-
Smoky vegan carrot dogs. That just sounds disgusting.
It is the "smoky" part that doesn't appeal to me.
I love smokey flavored food

Obviously, as the author of a barbecue book, I love smoky food, but smoky carrots? Nope.

My comment about the museum paintings was inspired by the story in the notes.....reality not intended or is purely coincidental.
-
We had an offer on the house that was $45,000 below selling price.
I told the realtor that was insult - I wasn't giving the house away.
We did counter giving them a good deal at $30,000 below selling....so they have until 1 p.m. tomorrow to decide.....
-
Good afternoon.
-
And I have been working on the OLIVER! slideshow....photos and bios of the cast/staff/crew that is shown on a tv screen in the lobby during the show.....it's a nightmare with more than 45 folks....but....it's more than halfway done.
-
I've been out all day.
I just got this text from my DH: "Please stay away from me."
-
Not a very nice welcome home.
-
Fever, headache, and sore throat
-
My left hand is still weak from the fall....but it is better!
-
Laura I am sorry your show was canceled at the last moment. How disappointing
First world problems.
I hope the cast and crew and employees of the theater are ok.
I'm surprised this hadn't happened earlier.
-
One bit of good news, though, I think.
We are all old enough that we've been vaccinated for smallpox, which should help us avoid monkey pox.
-
Is that Depp trial still going on? Good Lord. Imagine having to be a juror on that case.
-
My eyes would have rolled back so far they'd be stuck in the back of my head.
-
Vobes for DR Laura’s DH!

Oh no!
-
Not a very nice welcome home.
It isn't. I hope being away for the day offered you some protection from whatever he has.
-
Fever, headache, and sore throat
Poor guy. I suggest making soup for both of you and putting it in the frig.
-
My left hand is still weak from the fall....but it is better!
That's good. If it hadn't improved I would have suggested getting it x-rayed.
-
One bit of good news, though, I think.
We are all old enough that we've been vaccinated for smallpox, which should help us avoid monkey pox.
:)) I was just wondering about that yesterday.
-
Hmmm, having the smallpox vaccination all those years ago might only protect us from dying from monkey pox.
-
Is that Depp trial still going on? Good Lord. Imagine having to be a juror on that case.

DR John I hope your drive home was easier compared to your morning drive.
-
I told my brother about Wintringham Mystery. Being a fan of P.G.Wodehouse he put a hold on it at his library. As I am also a fan of Wodehouse I downloaded it out from my library.

I'm concerned about Johns' mother. Sending vibes for her.

True!

Hmmm, having the smallpox vaccination all those years ago might only protect us from dying from monkey pox.
I’m okay with not dying from monkey pox
-
Thanks, everyone. We've both had four shots, so we should be ok.
Yes, still you can feel rather miserable with it.
-
We will be traveling next month and I am concerned about being sick in a hotel. Home is bad enough.
-
My DH was scheduled for jury duty today. Good thing the trial canceled.
Very good for all those people he would have exposed to whatever he has.

It was in the 80s when I left for work. It’s 67 now.
I have no idea why my mind thought you meant the 1980’s
LOL you aren't the only one.
Agreed. The 67 part was particularly memorable as I was a freshman in college in this part of 1967. Actually, I guess I was either in, or just out of, finals for the term.
-
Hmmm, having the smallpox vaccination all those years ago might only protect us from dying from monkey pox.
I’m okay with not dying from monkey pox
I have had chicken pox. I have had the shingles shot and both shingrix shots.
Please, for the love of all that is merciful, don't introduce a monkeypox vaccine.
-
Good night, friends.
Well, what about the rest of us???
-
;)
:D
-
I wonder if DR George and DR TCB are up to taking today's posts up to a page 7?
-
Time for bed for me, too.
Good night!
-
How is Vixdad today?
He’s stronger , I’m so relieved
-
I haven’t had the shingles or pneumonia shots but I suppose I should, next month I’m eligible for my second Covid booster so I guess I’ll consider something after that
-
I did have chickenpox as a kid, I still have scars from then
-
How is Vixdad today?

Great to read.

I am late for bed.

Good night, all.

I wonder if DR George and DR TCB are up to taking today's posts up to a page 7?
I'm finally home, so I suppose I could post just a couple more posts. ::)

Here we are...it's Page Seven!! :D

Is that the villain in HARRY POTTER?

Oh! That's something I haven't announced here yet.

In Washington State we have officially moved into the over $5.00 gas rate. Average rate in Washington is now $5.20 a gallon.
-
Also, in Washington, we now have our first case of monkey pox. In Seattle.

I would have countered at $20,000.00 below.

I finally broke down and watched the film version of THE FATASTICKS. Actually, it was a lot better than I expected it to be. Interesting juxtaposition of some of the songs. I feel sorry for anyone who has never seen the show. I would think they would be rather confused.
-
I kept trying to figure how where I had seen the actor playing The Boy (Matt). It is Joey McIntyre, a member of New Kids On The Block, and from DANCING WITH THE STARS.
-
And speaking of monkey pox, NBC is now telling the world that the disease is mostly passed thru gay sex!! Didn’t we just get over this story?
-
Vixmom, I am so glad that the prayers are working.
-
Good night.

Yup...in a Blu-ray.com review (https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-Fantasticks-Blu-ray/120342/#Review) by former DR JMK, this offers the:
Original Theatrical Cut (480p; 1:49:46) is Ritchie's preferred cut and restores "Try to Remember" to its "rightful" place at the top of the show, among other differences from the "official" version.
