Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both good and bad, and now it is time for you to post until the good and bad cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HOKUM!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
I think I'll shave now rather than the morning.
-
Good morning, all!

Well, halleiujah! I actually slept well last night, given that I'm having much anxiety over my curret existence. I admit I'm very unhappy about the demise of the recording project because I was looking forward to recording four shows and I was having a wonderful, if not always easy, time with my colleagues on the project. The ballet project is moving too slowly for me, but I admit it's because I have no other work and I'm itching to get started. Then, the third source of my anxiety is the property sale: will it ir won't it?
It all makes me wqant t go back to bed and stay there.
-
I did speak to Joshie yesterday: he's got Covid, but it seems to be an easy case of it, thank God.
-
i really need to vacuum. I've been procrastinating for about five days now. By the time I've dragged it out, emptied the bag, and plugged it in, I'll be completely exhausted. I tire too easily these days, and I miss the energy of the kid fifty years ago who could do summer school and summer theatre on five hours of sleep a night for two months.
-
BK, I like the song. Now I want to hear it with Lanny's orchestration. I also think she's quite good.

Always loved that Mammy HOKUM!

Negative!
I try to remain a member in good standing in DR Jrand71's Negativity Club.
For this gig we have to test every week, one day before resuming the run.
We're back at it tomorrow night, so here I am. Done.
-
Yay, Negativity!
-
I’m at the office.

Congrats DR CHAS SMITH - as am I.
Tonight I am working in the box office for OLIVER! and the cleaning up the theeder after the show......ugh.....

Very nice night's sleep. Interesting dreams peopled with former co-workers. Some of Larry's problems were intertwined with an ice machine and laundry equipment that no longer works. The super got someone out, but the worker couldn't get the parts he needed to fix anything.
I think that is part of the Larry Moore experience. Haven't had an personal issues like that yet. And I don't have a super.

I watched a very interesting film last night called "The Lady Vanishes", made by the BBC in 2013. It does not follow the Hitchcock story but is most closely associated with the source material on which Hitchcock based his film.
I think Hitchcock made the better film story, but there was something very pleasing about watching the BBC version. I'm glad a watched it. It was on Amazon Prime.
The cast is excellent!

DR John, I am either confused or forgetful, when and where in Wyoming are you going?
-
I leave Friday. Driving up to Casper and Cheyenne. Driving around up there. Then driving home.

I'm up, I'm up - six and a half hours of sleep.

Just finished listening to the new distaff London revisal of Company all the way through. Truly dislike the orchestrations. Also dislike some of the veddy British accents. Patti LuPone needs to be reined in in spots. Not a fan. But I like the Bobbi better than Katrina Lenk.

Just got word that tomorrow's performance is now a rehearsal.
The kid is still out (but he's recovering fine). The actual bad news is that someone tested positive this morning! Not anyone in the band, and they're hoping we can do a run-through tomorrow. Oy!
-
Good luck!

On a happy note (C#), I finally got a double-monitor stand!
-
Here at work, most people have had two monitors for several years, but for me, they were just either sitting too low or on really big books that took up too much room.
-
Now, I have some space underneath!
-
The picture of Jupiter is from the Astronomy Picture of the Day Archive (https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/archivepix.html).
-
I set it to span my two monitors. :)
-
Back from the double lunch - first lunch was a meeting - I had a chicken salad sandwich. Second lunch was with Grant - I only had fries. So, not terrible.
-
On a happy note (C#), I finally got a double-monitor stand!
Congratulations! It took long enough ;)

They look very nice and a good height.

Nice. I didn't know that could be done.

Ah, But Underneath!

-
Good evening, friends.
-
It has been a day.
-
The fire department was doing random unit checks for code violations. Fortunately, our apartment was not selected for inspection.
-
If it had been, I think we would have received multiple citations for using many power strips.
-
When the fire department books inspections here, all units are required to be inspected.
-
But abodes are not wired for today's electronic world.
-
If it had been, I think we would have received multiple citations for using many power strips.
:o
They just make sure the alarms are working correctly.
-
Annoying during our inspections is that is when a smoke alarm is checked in one unit, all the units hear an alarm. I suppose that would be a good thing if there were actually a fire.

Singing in the shower is all fun and games until you get shampoo in your mouth. Then, it becomes a soap opera.

I still might have it a bit low, but I'll see how I feel about it after a few days.

Nice. I didn't know that could be done.
There are several options for desktop images.

I finished reading a fun book my brother recommended, The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. It is about four neighbors in a retirement community in a murder club.
-
I have heard of that one, DR Jane. Sounds fun.

Yes. The arms do adjust to different positions.

I have room for a third screen, but I don't want nor need a third, but this screen holder can only hold two screens. A third would have to be on its own stand or be on the desk. The Finance director has three screens. :P
-
At least it's on sale...
-
76 trombones!
-
I use a lot of programs simultaneously through the day, so having that extra screen real estate is very helpful.

I plan to read the sequel.

Ohhh...I would think that an image would span three monitors. "Span" is a setting for monitors, so if there are three, I would expect it fill the three screens.
-
I use 2 large screens plus my laptop monitor!
You do?? Can you test this option?
-
I'm a little afraid to mess up my setup, but I can give it a try.
-
Also, I'm not very tech savvy.
-
Alas.
-
It took me tinkering forever in settings to get it so that my mouse scrolls continuously from the most left screen to the most right.
-
DR Jane I don't have a kindle paperwhite. I have a kindle oasis.
I guess for the graduation tickets they decided on 3 tickets (so both parents and 1 sibling). There was really not room for more as the 250+ grads had to also sit in the seats. So that was 1000 seats.
It was just my sister, her husband, my younger niece and me.
-
FOUR!!!!

Paperwhite was the one you would have liked to have? I do remember your mentioning it when I was looking at them.
That's nice her sister could also go. I thought maybe she was in school.

No comment, except to say the case happened in Missouri. Which ain't called the Show Me State for nuthin'.

Good evening, all.

Gratuitous post 99!

LOL

Finishing up Minyan. There's a scene in a temple in which, besides the lead character, there are only one or two people under the age of 70. Sort of reminds me of my congregation. Not quite that ancient, but definitely grayer than not.
-
Found a BBC production of Adam Bede on DVD recently. I remember very little of the book except that I read it while vacationing in Guatemala. Oh, yeah, and it has something to do with Methodism. Maybe I should reread some Eliot, besides Middlemarch, which I've already read three times, and Daniel Deronda, the first two-thirds of which is perfection.
-
Finished with my viewing. I'm having a sandwich for my evening snack, having only had a sandwich and fries earlier.

A couple of weeks ago (or was it just last week??), I got a 2016 8th generation Kindle Oasis (used/like new), but it doesn't have a case, so it's unprotected from any potential physical damage.

I haven't been able to find a case anywhere...not on Amazon or even on eBay!

I have never heard of Vimeo.
-
I'd heard about it several years ago.
-
I never had a profile on the site until I helped fund a movie on Indiegogo a couple of years ago.
-
One perk was a streaming version of the finished movie on Vimeo, so I had to register to be able to watch the movie.
-
I never had a profile on the site until I helped fund a movie on Indiegogo a couple of years ago.
Did the movie get made?
-
Is that the only place to watch it?
-
I never had a profile on the site until I helped fund a movie on Indiegogo a couple of years ago.
Did the movie get made?
Yes, it did. And it's pretty good. It's a sci-fi movie called Code 8 (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6259380/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0).
-
I first wrote, “…place to wash it.”
-
Is that the only place to watch it?
Nope. It's been released on DVD and Blu-ray (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B084NWJ596/), and Amazon's Prime Movie (https://www.amazon.com/Code-8-Robbie-Amell/dp/B082LSYVJH/ref=tmm_aiv_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=).

Say what?

What say?

This is most unseemly.

Most.

Unseemly.

I first wrote, “…place to wash it.”
;D
-
New notes are up.
-
I first wrote, “…place to wash it.”
But that would be a soap opera.
-
Another perk that I got from the movie was the actual ring worn by the bad guy!
