Well, you've read the notes, the notes were at 150%, and now it is time for you to post until the 150% cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TRIUMPH!
-
Congrats on reaching 150%, BK!!
-
Good morning, friends.

When your tomatoes try to make a getaway...
-
I did not know about the Broadway wordle.
-
But now I do.
-
I'm not sure I could get through that documentary, DR TCB, but it sounds intense.
-
Good morning, all.
-
76 on the Broadway game. But I don’t know if I played the same one everyone else did.

Taking Mom to church. Last day of vacation.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I am up, after spending most of yesterday in bed, to the dismay of three cats, who seem to prefer my bed without me in it.
-
I slept relatively well last night, although three cats made it a bit claustrophobic around 3a.m.
-
I had a long dream I don't remember well, but I believe there was a mystery involved.
-
I plan on doing nothing today but lying about, watching some DVDs, and dozing. The thing I think I hate most about the pandemic is it's turned me into a couch potato. Three years of no work, physical infirmity, and nowhere to go has really shot my drive all to hell.
-
This is the week in which we learn if the Ohio property will sell or be rejected. If the potential buyers and the City of Middletown come to an agreement, Randy thinks we might close by Thursday. I'm hoping this comes to pass, but I'm so positive the deal will fall through. I hope I'm wrong.

Happy Sunday to everyone! There's a new radio show for your listening pleasure. The multi-talented Andrew Lynford joins me to chat about his career and his internet radio show, plus we listen to his 12 favorite show tunes! It's a fun conversation and, of course, you'll hear lots of great music. Enjoy!!!

Good morning, all.
-
Just a quick hello, because I have a weirdly full day. I’m seeing a matinee of Stepping Out, which I’m not all that interested in (disclaimer: I’ve never seen it) but several friends are involved and I’m assured that I’ll enjoy it.
-
A gracious good Sunday morning to everyone!
-
Slept very well, dreamed nicely (nothing remains of them in my memory), and struggled with getting up and facing the world.
Once I had my morning coffee brewed, things looked more alert for me!
Of course, I am very grateful to have awakened to live another day!

Congrats to MR BK on 150%!!!

I liked DR JOHN G's photos from the play last night.
-
CLUE is gone.....and I am assuming the monstrosity of its set (built for OLIVER) is gone. It was mostly gone when I left last night at about 12:30 a.m.
Today we will do our little bit and tomorrow we are onstage....which of course we share for a week with the *^*$%&ing Children's Theatre Workshop - a complete waste of our time and resources.
-
Page Two.
-
It is raining here.
-
I shall be on my way [back] to the theeder in a bit.
I hope DR CHAS SMITH enjoys the show!
-
I played that Broadway thing......but I clicked GUESS and I couldn't find where to enter my guess......but that's okay. I avoid Broadway World like the plague. TOO MANY ADS AND POPUPS.....

They sang Happy Birthday to Mom at the end of service this morning. She got all teary-eyed.

Today us the last day for Olympia's Capital Lakefair (https://www.lakefair.org/).
-
My niece asked that if I went, could I bring back a couple of Elephant Ears for her and her grandmother.
-
I said that I would because I want to get a Demo Burger (they help raise money for local Democrat candidates and incumbents).
-
Demo Burgers are only offered at events like this.
-
Today's last day doesn't officially start until noon, but I should probably head down before then so that I can find a good parking space.
-
But, we'll see if I get my butt outta bed by then or not. ;)
-
From DR Singdaw:
Sometimes, the dog really DID eat your homework.
Never the dog, however, I did have to write a note the time the cat ate the homework ;D
-
DR TCB I remember that horrible crash. Does it mention what the drunk driver was doing at the time of the documentary?
-
From DR TCB:
If I had watched this while I was still drinking, I could have saved the cost of treatment. I would have stopped cold turkey.
After experiencing my mother driving drunk I avoided drinking and driving. My sister didn't which I never understood.
-
Sunday afternoon greetings!
It is raining here.
Here, too. We're about to build an ark.
-
I did not know about the Broadway wordle.
How about Byrdle, named for English Renaissance composer William Byrd? I do surprisingly well at it, considering I'm a musical moron.
-
From George:
For dessert, we had some not-quite-defrosted coconut cream pie.
;D I am glad it still tasted good.
-
DR George why does Shelly's cat know in advance that she needs to have her tail amputated?
-
Vibes for the poor cat.
-
Our dog Belle had to have part of her tail removed after a truck driver hit her tail with his truck breaking part of the tail off.
-
I also remember the bus crash. It happened between here and Louisville, KY, and the bus was headed for Kings Island, an amusement park very near our home. There was a lot of local news coverage.
-
It was all very upsetting. Poor Belle was in shock as we drove her to the vet. He stabilized her and then did the surgery.
-
From then on she did not like the cats rubbing against her tail :(
-
They sang Happy Birthday to Mom at the end of service this morning. She got all teary-eyed.
Awww, nice :)
-
I’ll be off in a few minutes to collect former DR WFO
I guess I am too late to ask you to say hello from me.
-
My niece asked that if I went, could I bring back a couple of Elephant Ears for her and her grandmother.
Yum, not that I would eat one anymore.
-
I said that I would because I want to get a Demo Burger (they help raise money for local Democrat candidates and incumbents).
I hope they also offer a veggie version.
-
I dropped my hair dryer on my foot this morning, mostly on my little toe.
-
While I don't think anything is broken, it still hurts and I am limping.
-
I blame my carelessness on my shoulder.
-
It's been a quiet day: Spectrum has turned offmytelevision service until I pay last month's bill, which will be Wednesday, when the Social Security lands in my checking account.
On the positive side, I've got as job offer, but I won't see any money from it for at 5-6 weeks.
-
In honor of national ice cream day we read Curious George and the Ice Cream Surprise with Freyja.
-
At last my former employers are finally coming out from under their 2020-2021 contractual obligations.
-
I then had Häagen-Dazs coffee chip ice cream.
-
That is coffee ice cream with pieces of very good chocolate.
-
Toe vibes for DR JANE.

I remember Lily Tomlin said that wanted to be a ballerina when she was a little girl, but that her career was cut short when one morning at breakfast her mother dropped a six-pack on Lily's instep.
-
Well the turntable is installed, the drop frame is on it, the Pharaoh face is hung, and the chariot, camel, well, goat, and rain curtain are all in the annex.....and the drops are all down on the work table.
The stage is chalked for painting......so on we go.
-
Still raining....still.....raining....still.....
-
The county fair parade was canceled.
-
I'm up, I'm up - I think I got eight hours, but not together.
-
Two hours to start, then up for two, then slept for six.

Sounds like quite a lot of activity is going on at the Playhouse.

Perhaps.

thank you.

I’m finishing The Maid. I enjoyed the second half more than the first, mainly because it took me awhile to get used to the main character.
-
Jane, I saw one of those steamers you were referring to recently at Costco.
-
At the airport. Waiting.
-
But, we'll see if I get my butt outta bed by then or not. ;)
I got my butt outta bed and got the Demo Burger and the elephant ears, as well as a funnel cake. :)
-
I ate the Demo Burger there, then got the other stuff and brought that to my sister's.
-
She then asked if I could do a little shopping for her, so I did that, and got myself a couple of things.
-
After I brought them to my sister's, I took my stuff and came home.
-
Now, I'm doing laundry.
-
Mr. Saturday Night is closing at 113 performances. Is that the longest run of a Jason Robert Brown show?
-
DR George why does Shelly's cat know in advance that she needs to have her tail amputated?
Shelly's cat doesn't know anything, but Shelly does and made the appointment for Thursday, which was probably the earliest that Shelly could get her in. The cat has a HUGE sore on her tail that just hasn't been getting any better, so Shelly finally made the decision to have it amputated.
-
Healing vibes for DR Jane.
Thank you.
-
Jane, I saw one of those steamers you were referring to recently at Costco.
Thanks. I will check them out next time we are at Costco.
-
I just told Alexa to add "steamer" to my Costco list. I love the convenience of Alexa for my shopping lists.
-
Though sometimes.....
-
Keith was looking at the shopping list and asked me what a Thai stick was.
-
I pondered that for a few seconds then said....
-
TIDE stick ;D

SAFE AND EASY TRAVELS HOME!
-
DR John I was about to ask you when you were returning home.
-
TIDE stick ;D
Ha!

I have been reading some of difficulties people have had with their flights.
-
TIDE stick ;D
Ha!
There have been a few where I remained clueless ;D
-
Just had a cuppa at the filthiest Starbucks I’ve ever seen. I had to send photos to the customer service line. Sticky tabletops, trash all over the floor. And the only place I saw to recharge my phone.
-
What a shock. Good for you sending photos. I hope they respond.
-
The electronic chat agent said thank you.

One of the frontrunner Republican's running for Congress has this add on Facebook:
"Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is the only pro-choice candidate running for Congress in Washington’s 3rd District. If elected, she’d be a Biden ally on gun control and the Green New Deal. She’s just too liberal for Washington State."
-
Most of the responses are rather funny.
-
"Thanks for telling me who is running as the Democrat i will be sure to vote for her thanks."
-
"News flash... Washington IS liberal. 100% voting for her!"
-
"Guy running on basically a pro-nazi slogan is campaigning on a morality platform."
-
You get the idea. I didn't see a single comment that supported him ;D
-
I take it back, I saw one in support of him.
-
That's funny, Jane! ;D

But this isn't. I was looking for and found my DVD of Vivaldi's Ercole Su'l Termodonte (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000RFKAE4/), and wondered what Zachary Stains was doing now, but I came across this article from four years ago:
Opera singer who went nude for role gets probation for child porn (https://nypost.com/2018/06/20/opera-singer-who-went-nude-for-role-gets-probation-for-child-porn/). :o

Oy.

Can’t begin to read that story, George. That stuff is too nasty for words.

Late boarding. I really dislike the Louisville airport. The restaurants stop serving food at 6 pm Sundays apparently. That Starbucks is closed for the evening. I bought a lousy sandwich that cost $12. It was about the only food available.
-
And the aftertaste is just nasty.

I am not surprised. Are the shops open, maybe get some peanuts or almonds?

I’m close the halfway though The Girl in His Shadow. It’s not winning. It’s more like background noise.

I hope you won't be delayed too long. Do you have a connecting flight you need to catch?

I packed my own peanuts. And I am glad I did.

This evening, I watched the new Netflix production of Jane Austen’s “Persuasion”, starring Dakota Johnson (daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson) and Cosmo Jarvis.
Unlike the 1995 version with Amanda Root and Ciaran Hinds and the 2007 version with Sally Hawkins and Rupert Penry-Jones, this version veers away from the written word of the novel and adds a 21st Century twist in both language and adaptation of the characters.
None of this is to intimate it is not the equal of the other two productions in style and production values, but the sensibilities are different. Here, we have a worldly Ann Elliott who nurses her disappointment of spurning Frederick Wentworth 8 years earlier by analyzing everyone in her sphere and drinking quite a bit of wine and other spirits. She’s not a lush, but she certainly puts away the drink.
There is some “numbering” in the dialogue At one point, Mrs. Clay says that in London, good-looking people are 5s, but in Lyme, Ann’s father and sister will be 13s. At another point, Frederick is referred to as a 10. It’s disconcerting to say the least, but for anyone unfamiliar with the novel or previous filmed versions, it’s likely to have great appeal.
Ann directly talks to the audience and expresses those feelings/thoughts/motives that the novel and previous films had left to our imaginations. She also has much earlier discussions with Wentworth about their previous relationship and they agree to be friends.
I recommend the film to anyone curious about this approach. It’s not Austen’s way, but the writer(s) seem to tap into Austen’s intents in various ways. Richard E. Grant is a perfect, supercilious and foppish Mr. Elliott. His eldest daughter is appropriately vain and plain. Were it not for the 1995 and 2007 versions, both of which I love, I would have taken great exception to this "adaptation" which is "based on" the novel rather than being faithful to it.
Miss Griffith resembles her mother and makes Ann far more beautiful than we have seen her before. Jarvis as Wentworth is believable as a sea captain and makes his feelings about Ann known from the first time we see him.
The casting is color-blind.
-
If cats had their own china...
What do you mean "if"?
-
:)
:D
-
Thank you, DR Ron. I’m very curious about the latest Persuasion.
-
We’re sitting on the tarmac waiting to get to our gate. I may miss my connection.
-
Oh John, I’m sorry…vibes they hold your connection
-
Excellent news on the job offer Elmore
-
George what is a Demo burger?
-
Foot vibes for Jane
-
Unfortunately the show was not very good
-
We all dozed off at various times throughout the performance
-
Maybe that should read we each…., I cannot swear w3 wer3 all dosing at the same times
-
Th3 fact tha5 the theatre was much too warm didn’t help
-
I felt badly about the snoozing especially we were in the front row so I’m sure it was obvious to the actors
-
The guy on my left also napped a few times.
-
Afte4 the #how w3 went to a nice diner , enjoyed a nice meal and chat together
-
Can’t begin to read that story, George. That stuff is too nasty for words.
The article is very short and to the point. There's very little detail...more like an announcement that this happened.
-
PAGE SEVEN DANCE!!
-
George what is a Demo burger?
it's a burger sold by the local Democrats to raise money for the local Democrat party. They're only sold at local events like Lakefair, the Pride event, next month's Harbor Days, things like that.
-
Otherwise, it's pretty much a standard burger (there's also a veggie burger version) with a few options, but the main conceit is that it includes grilled onions.
-
Had a nice celebratory meal with Yacko over at Vitello's - I had the chicken Caesar - not too big. That's been the meal o' the day and I'd like to keep it that way.
-
When I woke up last night after two hours of sleep, it was because something I ate wasn't agreeing with me (I hate when that happens), and something unpleasant was happening, almost like pre-throwing up - it's happened before and it's a horrible burning sensation in the throat - normally I'll pop a Pepcid, sip some carbonation and wait it out - and have a Ricola to soothe the burning - out of Ricolas, of course, so this thing lasted almost an hour and was horrible and my throat is now so trashed. Hoping a good night's sleep will help. I'll also mosey on over to CVS and get some more Pepcid, since I ran out last night, and then I'll get some Ricola's, which I have a coupon for.
-
Did a CVS run, so I have Pepcid and Ricola.
-
Just landed. Can’t wait to get home.
-
Throat and tummy vibes for BK.
-
Jane, I saw one of those steamers you were referring to recently at Costco.
I now have one of my own. My sister wanted one for Christmas (in late February), so I got her one and she loves it. So, I bought myself one.
-
My niece asked that if I went, could I bring back a couple of Elephant Ears for her and her grandmother.
Wouldn’t that be your mother?
-
DR TCB I remember that horrible crash. Does it mention what the drunk driver was doing at the time of the documentary?
I am not sure I understand your question. I believe he was still in prison at the time of the documentary. Or did you mean what was he doing at the time of the accident? He has no memory of the accident, but he was driving on the wrong side of the highway. I hope your answer is in there somewhere.
-
I also remember the bus crash. It happened between here and Louisville, KY, and the bus was headed for Kings Island, an amusement park very near our home. There was a lot of local news coverage.
Actually, they were coming home from King’s Island. I left that part out because I couldn’t remember the name of the amusement park.
-
TIDE stick ;D
I think in Washington state, Thai stick is legal.
-
:)
Sasha!

Too liberal for Washington?

New Job Vibes for Elmore!
-
Almost time for new notes.
-
Has George up and disappeared again?
-
I have sucked on a Ricola and it's very soothing.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
And I have.
-
Listening to Dave Grusin's nice music from The Champ.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
Page seven isn't so bad.
-
Page eight would be fun.
-
But page seven isn't bad.
-
But I fear we're too far away.

I tell you, there are two temperatures for this house - broiling and freezing.
-
Well, there's also freezing and broiling.
-
Is this page trying to gaslight me?
-
Page eight
-
Apparently so.
-
Ah, page eight!
-
TCB, I'm gonna send you a PM right now - watch for it.
-
In the documentary, one of the surviving students was a young African American boy who suffered horrible burns on his face and his head. He was one of talking heads in the film. At first, I had a terrible time looking at him, but by the end of the film I was seeing his beauty in his eyes.
-
TCB, I'm gonna send you a PM right now - watch for it.
Okay.
-
My niece asked that if I went, could I bring back a couple of Elephant Ears for her and her grandmother.
Wouldn’t that be your mother?
Her other grandmoher...her late father's mother. :)
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
They are new.
-
And yet seem old.

Too liberal for Washington?
Maybe for eastern Washington. ::)
