Well, you've read the notes, the notes had both class and action, and now it is time for you to post until the classy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: VADIC!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Oops, forgot to lock the topic of yesterday - it's locked now.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
How can that pain doctor be so without a clew?
-
She's a pain!
-
:)
-
Good morning, all!

Good show news from DR Jrand71 and DR George. Huzzah!!!!!
-
Sleep did nt come easily again last night. This morning, when the alarm rang, there was no way I would leave my bed. I finally abandoned it around 6:30.
-
I am heading into another depression. The debts are piling up, and the Ohio sale I thought/hoped would clear up everything two months ago still has not happened. Between my anger at myself for being caught in this mess, my rage at two brothers who created this property mess 15 years ago, and my inability to pull money out of thin air is eating me alive. I'm more worried for the cats since I a down to my last six meals of Fancy Feast and then the cupboard is bare.
-
I honestly thought, as well, that the Indiana University contract and initial payment would have been accomplished weeks ago.
-
And besides that, Mrs Lincoln, how was the play?
-
Good show news from DR Jrand71 and DR George. Huzzah!!!!!
Yes, indeed!
-
DR TCB, I do not understand this gaggle of apathetic doctors in your life. I don't know if I've been primarity fortunate in my numerous doctors or I was completely clueless and missed their lack of concern for my health.
-
Good show news from DR Jrand71 and DR George. Huzzah!!!!!
Thanks, Singdaw!

Today is the day of the rose’ wine panel up in the hill country, so that should be a good time.

I like Tommy Lee Jones as an actor. Blue Sky was my favorite performance of his.
-
As a person, he has left me undecided.
-
He lives or used to live in San Antonio, and he has been seen around a lot.
-
He’s known to be surly with fans.
-
Two!
-
I remember once seeing him at a new Italian restaurant in town. I was walking past his table and started talking. His face turned into a grimace until he realized I was talking to a friend at the next table. Then he stared as if he couldn’t believe he wasn’t the center of attention. I just ignored him.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Tommy Lee Jones isn't one of those people who, when I hear the name, I immediately think of a string of films I remember him in. But I think it's safe to say that I've always enjoyed him in anything of his I've seen.
Never made him grimace, at least to my knowledge. So there's that.
-
Congratulations, ChasSmith, on being grimace free with Tommy Lee Jones.
-
Thanks!
I have also succeeded in never having jokingly referred to Jerry Herman as an asshole, unwittingly within earshot of Jerry Herman, like a good friend did once.
-
TCB: I agree with the others' impressions of your doctors, or of the systemic philosophy at this network you're in. It sounds like you're simply Not Receiving Care. This is not normal.
-
Glad that DR TCB's doctor is not an undertaker.
Well, he's only been dead for two weeks, it's too soon to tell.
-
Hoping for the same KIND of audience tonight. Thanks to all for the kind comments.
-
No ifs no buts.....

Last night HHW was liked an Alfred Hitchcock tv show:

Tommy Lee Jones -- Al Gore's roommate in college/university.
Favorite films: The Eys of Laura Mars, JFK and The Fugitive.

Wordle in two this morning.
-
It is an absolutely beautiful day outside, and the temperature is 72 degrees. Summer is taking a holiday as a cold front moves through, plunging us into the low 60s at night and only in the mid 80s for highs...for a few days, at least.
I am going to have my coffee on the porch this morning.

Good morning!

I liked Mr Tommy Lee Jones in JFK.....but I think my favorite performance of his is in Coal Miner's Daughter.....
-
Well nothing out of the ordinary yesterday....so perhaps the card was just a reminder of Uncle Wayne's birthday coming up on August 21...which is 12 reversed.
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep.

Glad that DR TCB's doctor is not an undertaker.

Let's wait, maybe it'll go away by itself.

Stopped at a favorite barbecue place on the way to the winery. New owners. Food still good. But something is missing. More in me than the food.

Chicken and ribs

From DR TCB:
So, today I finally met the doctor who runs the clinic. I would not say that she gave a good first impression. I said it was nice to finally meet her. And the first thing she said to me was, “Well, I know. Paul (my PA) just laid it on the line. He says I must meet all of the patients.” SAY WHAT?
:o
-
From TCB:
She did ask about my hand, because I had told he4 medical assistant about it. I explained it very complete detail everything I could think of. She said, “Well, since the whole thing has only been going on for two weeks, I wouldn’t think it was anything to worry about yet!”
>:(
-
TCB:
She did say that it might be a good idea to mention it to primary doctor when I see him next week.
Duh! And be sure to mention your conversation with her, after he has given his opinion.
-
Quote from: George on Today at 12:06:33 AM
Quote from: TCB on Today at 12:04:56 AM
I wanted to say her that since we are probably paying her condo or ski chalet payments every month, that I would think that the law or the AMA would require her to meet all of the people who are getting their narcotics from her.
But what did you actually say?? ::)
TCB: Actually I said nothing. I usually only talk to people that I like.
;D
-
DR TCB have you been able to reach anyone at the surgery clinic?
-

Riding along with Vixdad in the car, listening to music.
I’m bopping along with the song.
Vixdad glances over, pulls car to the side of the road.
-
Vixdad (color draining from face , real concern in his voice): Raccoon, what’s going on? Are you OK?
-
Me: ( looks at him in puzzlement)
-
Vixdad: Raccoon, answer me
-
Me: What? What’s wrong?
-
Vixdad: ( relief flooding features) oh god, you were dancing. I thought you were having a neurological incident

LOL!

OMG! My mother used to say it never rains but pours. I just learned that my friend Michael Hayward-Jones, whom I met on a dinner theatre production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum around 1976, passed away this week from cancer. We last worked together at Goodspeed on Tom and Harvey's show, Mirette, in 1998.
We had been friends for nearly fifty years, and he was a huge fan of my Annabelle & Thatch stories. I am heartbroken over this.

-
Condolences DR ELMORE.
-
DR VIXMOM if that is so - he would hate my Joseph choreography.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Elmore, I'm sorry that you've lost another friend. I still grieve over the friend I lost last fall; I grieve for her every day. Vibes you remember the good times.
-
TCB, I believe there is a law that says the doctor must see you in person for you to be considered their patient. I have had telephone consultations with doctors I've never met in person and they made it clear that I am not considered their patient. During the lockdown the rules were relaxed a bit and doctors were doing Zoom visits, which qualified as in-person visits. Apparently, at least in some states, a PA can substitute for the doctor. I know there are some very good PAs, but IMO it is not the same. I also feel that a Zoom visit is not the same.
-
Please look for another doctor. You should not be treated like this. In my experience disrespect is not uncommon, but it's usually a sort of benign disrespect. This woman should not be be seeing patients, especially patients who are already in pain.
-
Off to Hamilton!
Be back later...much later!
-
Have a good day, all!
-
Well nothing out of the ordinary yesterday....so perhaps the card was just a reminder of Uncle Wayne's birthday coming up on August 21...which is 12 reversed.
Or maybe something is in the works, but hasn't shown itself yet?
-
Vixdad: Raccoon, answer me
We all knew that "Vixmom" wasn't her real name. Now we learn the truth: it's "Raccoon"!

Oooooohhhh! Lucky you!

Elmore, I am so very sorry you’ve suffered another loss, and so soon after the last

I woke up this morning feeling depressed -- and I am seldom depressed. Perhaps it was last night's PBS Newshour Brooks & Capehart discussion. Perhaps it is climate change, which really has me worried. Perhaps it is any number of other things. Jrand, is there something going on in the heavens? Frequently when I am upset I learn it's a Mercury Retrograde or full moon, but I imagine other things can cause it.
-
I wish positive happenings for you all today!
TTFN.
-
Had a light breakfast (omelet and bagel), went to CD Trader to kill time, and now I'm home - already dozed off for almost two hours.
-
Huge vibes of condolence and comfort for DR Elmore.
This has truly been one hell of a week.
-

Ditto!

Days like this happen. May you be back to your normal self tomorrow.
-
Finished Men in Black III - very weird movie, but with a good final thirty minutes.
-
Went to Gelson's for a snack for tonight and food for tomorrow. I'm done with DoorDash for at least two weeks if not for good, unless I need to stay here and do stuff and that's the most convenient way. One really does end up spending eight to ten bucks more.
-
The rose’ panels went well. We had about 110 total for the two discussions.
-
It felt great to be back. In person. Not on Zoom.
-
And all of the wines on both panels were excellent.
-
Went to Half Price Books on the way into town. Found a Rushdie novel I hadn’t heard of. It’s a retelling of Orpheus and Eurydice.
-
We just polished off a box of TACO BELL TACOS.
-
also found a Marjorie Kinan Rawlings I hadn’t heard of. Supposedly her first, never published novel, Blood of My Blood.
-
I’m now on a new-to-me Mexican place, relaxing with a beer and waiting for dinner.
-

Nice.

I looked it up and am wondering if she didn't intend to publish it.

Too late. And it was only $3 in a clearance bin.
-
The $1 bin has gone up to $3. Darn inflation.

Aguachile negro. A beautifully spicy black sauce with habanero.
-
Enchiladas nogadas with walnuts, pomegranate seeds and a sherry cream sauce.
-
Pizza with mushrooms, Canadian bacon, Roma tomatoes and green peppers
-
Hmmm. I already had dinner, but I'm getting hungry again. Go figure.
-
Have watched a few episodes of Neil Patrick Harris's Uncoupled on Netflix. It seems a bit flat.
-
I could go for some Taco Bell right about now.
-
Or some pumpkin scones.
-
I mean, it's almost Fall, right?
-
Or fal de rol.
-
Fa, a long long way to go.
-
Go go go Joseph.
-
Enough silliness.
-
FIVE!
-
Sakes alive.
-
Have watched a few episodes of Neil Patrick Harris's Uncoupled on Netflix. It seems a bit flat.
We watched about fifteen minutes and stopped.
-
This afternoon, I was given a home haircut by the DH.
-
This has been our pattern since Covid descended 2.5 years ago.
-
Neither of us are in the least bit trained in such arts.
-
There may have been a little bit of swearing.
-
On a more positive note, I had a delightful customer service experience yesterday with Apple via phone.
-
The rep I spoke with (with no waiting time) was courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and, although it took 40 minutes overall, successfully solved two vexing ongoing problems with iTunes and my phone (an Android). It felt really good.
-
I now have access to my library again.
-
Does anyone have any experience with bluetooth speakers? It looks like there are some good ones out there for a pretty good price ($75 or less).
-
Well, I think that does it for me for today.
-
Good night, friends.
-
She's a pain!
Maybe that is why they call it the pain clinic.
-
Thanks to all who commented on my medical care….. or lack of.
-
I’m thinking maybe I am just an asshole, and that is why all the medical staff treat me like dirt.
-
:)
We’ve already met.
-
There may have been a little bit of swearing.

I don't think so.

'night
-
I am watching Jean Renoir’s Toni, which is an experiment in realism. And it’s pretty good so far. Based on a true story. Folks from all over Europe affected by the Depression gather in a southern French town where there’s work. A murder happens.
-
I don’t know if I will finish tonight.
-
I may go read.
-
Enchiladas nogadas with walnuts, pomegranate seeds and a sherry cream sauce.
That looks amazing!
-
I have only had enchiladas once, surrounded and encouraged by many of you here
-
I would love to try these
-
Enough silliness.
There is NEVER enough silliness
-

I watched the first two episodes and it made me too sad

By the cutter or the cutee?

That is always nice to hear
-
I had a lovely customer service experience with Discover on Thursday , I called to use my points towards my balance before paying off my card and when the young lady ( with a wonderfully clearly enunciated voice, so rare these days) asked if there was anything else she could do for me, I said ( half jokingly) well you could give me a 0% interest rate for a year
She replied, oh that’s not my area, but one moment please, put me on hold for about 45 seconds and came back and said this is sherry, she’ll help you with that
And then Sherry ( who likewise has a very clear speaking voice, which I appreciate more and more each day) said I hear you’d like a 0% interest rate for a year, is that correct?
So I said, yes please.
So she said ok , starting tomorrow on all new purchases.
-
So that was nice
-
Does anyone have any experience with bluetooth speakers? It looks like there are some good ones out there for a pretty good price ($75 or less).
We have two that Vixdad picked up at AT&T and we use them when we travel and in the yard.
They work really well with his phone, I’ve never used them myself
-
I’m thinking maybe I am just an asshole, and that is why all the medical staff treatment like dirt.
I think the AH is the doctor.
You definitely need better care
-
ChasSmith - how many in the box vs. how many people eating.
-
Everyone see the new CDC stuff re no more isolating and the testing stuff.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Well$ nothing out of the ordinary yesterday....so perhaps the card was just a reminder of Uncle Wayne's birthday coming up on August 21...which is 12 reversed.
But the fact that was it dated with today’s month and day is weird enough!
-
DR TCB have you been able to reach anyone at the surgery clinic?
I have no idea the name of the surgery clinic or where it is located. That was one of the reason’s they were suppose to call me.
-
Vixdad: ( relief flooding features) oh god, you were dancing. I thought you were having a neurological incident
ROTFLMAO!
-

Oh elmore, one more blow you don’t need. My sympathies on the loss of another friend.
-
Have watched a few episodes of Neil Patrick Harris's Uncoupled on Netflix. It seems a bit flat.
I watched a couple of episodes tonight, but I don’t think I will continue to watch it, it was nice to see Andre De Shields n one episode, but very briefly.
-
Even though I knew the basic are of the show, I guess I expected a little more humor in the show.
-
The rep I spoke with (with no waiting time) was courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and, although it took 40 minutes overall, successfully solved two vexing ongoing problems with iTunes and my phone (an Android). It felt really good.
Was it their last day?
-
So that was nice
I think everything about Discover is wonderful. Except they expect me to pay my bill.
-
I think there may be something wrong with one of my friends, Sharry’s saint. I am talking about one of her dogs, not one her biblical boyfriends.
-
I called her this afternoon, but she said she would have to call me back, because Fraser wasn’t doing well and they were off to the vet.
-
She never called back so I figured the news was not good about their baby. Either that, or Sharry has gone to work for my eye doctor’s staff.
-
Did you hear about the new production of 1776?
-
It is being done with an all female cast. I have no problem with that; except the wives of John Adams and Thomas Jefferson are also being played by women. I don’t agree with that.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
George is absent.
