Well, you've read the notes, the notes had words and strings, and now it is time for you to post until the stringy, wordy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EFFULGENCE!
-
I want some of the triple-chocolate peanut butter cookies!!
-
I can’t stop coughing. I need to get some more sleep.
-
Good night.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
~~~VIBES~~~ for DR TCB!
-
Was awakened this morning at 3:30am by a charley horse in my calf.
-
Why these cramps are named after Charley, I don't know.
-
But they are no fun.
-
I knew there was no going back to sleep after that.
-
So here I am.
-
Good morning, all!
I slept terribly. I'm sure much of it's anxiety over what currently seems a precarious financial future and a desire to see two completely foolish brothers dead at my feet along with all of the pains and frustrations of my ciurrent existence.
-
I'm very happy I finished the laubdry yesterday, Today I will put away what I did not yesterday.
-
Dear Lurker Iris, I wish I were in a theatre taking photos of a production of The Miracle Worker.
-
DR Ginny, did you and Richard catch Little Shop of Horrors at MLT? My connection with them seems more than one lifetime ago.
-
Outside of A Tale of Two Cities, I don't recall ever seeing a Dirk Bogarde movie.
-
I've been thinking tomorrow is Sept. 1. Damn!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vibes for TCB, Elmore and us all.
-
Wordle and Phoodle in 4.
TOD
Victim
Death in Venice
The Damned
The Night Porter
-
Don’t Answer the Phone title sounds like the film title When a Stranger Calls a hit from the previous year.
-
Good morning to all
-
Had a weird dream where I was in the service industry and was supposed to organize something completely disorganized. It wasn’t happening. But it wasn’t a stressful dream. No one, myself included, seemed to mind things the way they were.
-
Is DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE the film with Carol Kane as the babysitter? I saw something around 1980 in my local West Side movie house.
-
This is another hot, humid, possibly rainy day.
-
Let’s move on …
Two!
Good morning, all.
-
I stuffed too much food and drink into my mouth after rehearsal late last night, but fortunately had an okay sleep in spite of it.
-
It rained this morning but now the sun is shining. I hope it continues for the day.
-
TOD:
A Tale of Two Cities - I like this production a lot. I miss Edna Mae Oliver as Pross.....but we get the final guillotine drop sound effect that we don't get in the Ronald Colman version....among other things.
Victim
Doctor At Sea
I Could Go On Singing
The Spanish Gardener
and probably a few others.....
-
I haven’t seen all that many Dirk Bogarde movies, but I always like him.
The Servant
Accident
The Mind Benders
The Night Porter
I know I must be leaving out a bunch, but those are the ones that always come to mind.
-
Kitty cleanup is finished, bed made, trash taken to basement (no mail), and my neighbor Ann stopped by to check on me. I will ponder this orchestra interlude I need to write now.
I felt the same way.
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe six hours of sleep.
-
The Carol Kane movie is When a Stranger Calls - it was a sleeper hit and the following year every thriller tried to copy its title in some way - Don't Answer the Phone!, Don't Go in the House (both 1980), Don't Look in the Basement, etc...
-
I love Dirk Bogarde - he was in several light comedies that I saw and enjoyed as a kid, but it was Song Without End, Victim, and The Mind Benders that made me a real fan. He was brilliant in The Servant, Accident, Darling, The Damned, Death in Venice, The Night Porter, Providence, and even though everyone hated the movie, I loved him as the villain in Modesty Blaise.
-
He was also a wonderful writer - several excellent memoirs and several novels.
-
Never saw Providence. Always wanted to.
-
Victim should have been on my list.
Thanks, BK! Before The Blair Witch I loved going to scary films, and I saw a lot. After The Blair Witch, I started having nightmare and that ended the fun.
-
BK, did you ever find my review on Amazon?
-
My neighbor Ann scanned my Overture sketch, and itv looks fantastic. It's been sent off to the conductor in the UK. I've put away half of yesterday's laundry and now I will put away all the towels and washcloths.
Deborah Monk plays a hard-boiled, ugly Southern mother on Mercy Street. I bet she had fun with the role.
-
I love this! Dare we hope that syphilis has eaten away the old perv's brain?
Isn't Mercy Street about the Civil War? I think I watched that on PBS. Lot of NY actors in it.
Yes. I missed it on the first go-round.
Tuesday afternoon greetings!
DR Ginny, did you and Richard catch Little Shop of Horrors at MLT? My connection with them seems more than one lifetime ago.
No, DR Elmore, but I have been in contact with MLT recently about a program they’re doing in December for one of my women’s groups. I agree about the lifetimes…
-
Given all the days before, this is one helluva slow HHW Day.
Looks just like Dumbo. Cue “Baby Mine.”
In my new car, I have a trial subscription for Sirius XM and I only listen to the On Broadway channel (#77). ::) On my way to work today, they played "At the Ballet" at the part that Kay hits the high note! ;D
Mikhail Gorbachev has died.
Congrats to DR George. How exciting!
I used to be able to memorize with ease, but I have found my brain more resistant as I have gotten older.
I am glad I was suspicious that Ellen DeGeneres sent me a friend request on Facebook.
-
Looking more closely I noticed the request was from Ellen DeGenerres (note the extra r).
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I want to be declared President right now! No need for an election. I'm obviously the best candidate. In fact, I'm the only candidate.
I keep thinking that one day he'll say something so OTT that people will finally see the light, but he's said so many OTT things. He's set a new standard for what's OTT.
I've been busy doing indoors things here in the apartment. VERY hot weather this week. Ugh!
New book at the library: Bookish People.
Bloated post 100!
I have feasted on designer stew (Ayamase), a very spicy stew of grean herbs and spices with various meats and hard-boiled eggs. It’s served with a bowl of rice and sautéed plantains.
;D
I hope you find the book as fun as the blub describes it.
Keith has just informed me we will no longer have a land line.
-
We need to figure out how to carry on a conversation together with another person, somehow linking our phones.
-
So many people to tell we don't have a land line.
-
I still have a couple of days.
-
We need to figure out how to carry on a conversation together with another person, somehow linking our phones.
It can be done...and I don't think it's that difficult. I've never done it, but I've seen the option when I received a call while already on a call.
-
You see the option on your cell phone? Do you know what prompted that?
-
Our land line phone might have an option to connect them to our cell phones.
-
Supposedly if I call someone I should see the option to add another caller. I need to find out if I just never noticed this option.
-
Thanks George. That was easy.
-
I called Keith who then called our land line and merged the calls.
-
We then had a three way conversation with two people ;D
-
Not tonight, but we will be testing this out with a real third person.
-
I should actually hear better talking with my cell phone since the sound goes directly into my ears.
-
Loving this movie.
-
Denzel Washington and Sarita Choudhury are such a beautiful couple.
-
Five!
:)
-
DR John G. especially, take note.
-
It is going to be 107 degrees in LA this coming weekend?
-
That’s deranged, Singdaw.
-
That's too darned hot!
I resemble that remark!
-
Thanks for the new review about the Rodgers book, DR John G.
-
Speaking of book reviews, enjoyed yours as well, DR elmore3003.
-
That's too darned hot!
Yup. It is only 97 degrees here. I think our temps will be slightly lower tomorrow.
We had a little bit of popcorn tonight as a treat.
We had popcorn last night.
Was hoping to take us closer to page six, but I am running out of steam.
Tonight there isn't any popcorn, but then tonight I am not hungry so it is ok.
Gotta start somewhere! ;D
-
I did a little more work in the garage. It’s getting there, but I need more cooler days.
-
Jury duty in the morning.
-
It’s a little late, but I’m starting a British flick called Love on the Dole with a very young Deborah Kerr.
-
That’s deranged, Singdaw.
Oh, heck! You accidentally inserted a comma before Singdaw's name!!
-
It has been a day of reflection for me. Four years ago today, my mom passed.
Not seeking solace, just letting you all know that this has been weighing on my mind a lot lately.
I need to let go of a lot of things, and it has been a slow process.
-
Jury duty in the morning.
Gosh, I used to get a jury summons every year when I lived in Oakland.
Haven't gotten a one in the nearly five years I have lived here in Johnston.
I may have aged out. It's a possibility.
-
It is my bedtime.
Ta-ta for now!
-
Good night, Ron.
-
Good night, all.
-
Six!
-
Tonight is hot and I am suffering.
-
Suffering from heat and pain.
-
And my right hand has definitely started to hurt.
-
I have nothing to add tonight.
-
Friday, the Washington State Fair opens here in lil’ ole Puyallup.
-
It's pretty warm in my bedroom, but not uncomfortable.
-
I can't remember the last time I went.
-
I guess I will call it a night. Good night.
-
It was long before Covid hit.
-
I guess I will call it a night. Good night.
But what if it doesn't want to be called a night??
-
Good night, Tom.
