We’ll, you’ve read the notes, the notes lacked power, and now it is time for you to post until the power cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BOUNTIFUL!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Darn...I was just about to make one more post last night to get us to Page Seven. Oh, well. It's all in the timing.
;D
-
Anyway, I was going to post this:
So, they're going to contact the rights holders about possibly...making accommodations. ::)
-
Notes are full size and ready to read. Power came back on at one-thirty so it was out for two hours and fifteen minutes.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Good morning, all!
-
This morning I am traveling via Access-a-Ride, so keep them good thoughts coming. I am seeing my podiatrist, and she's a doctor I really like.
-
Has anyone informed Sarah Palin her fifteen minutes are over?
-
DR George, did I miss rthe title of the show you were invited to audition for?
-
I am quite sleepy this morning - I slept quite poorly - but I have much to accomplish before AAR shows up.
-
BK, I think I'm the one qwho screwed up that email. I'm still buzzing over the good news.
-
Good morning, all.
-
DR George, did I miss rthe title of the show you were invited to audition for?
Tuck Everlasting
-
Wordle and Phoodle in 3.
-
Don’t want to get up. But I have a feeling I missed something yesterday.
-
Good morning.
-
My DH found the discount shelf at the restaurant grocery store. So we will be eating mushrooms this week. A three pound box of sliced mushrooms for $4.
-
Plus more lettuce on special.
-
So, John G., if you have any mushroom suggestions ...
-
Good morning, all.
-
DR George, did I miss rthe title of the show you were invited to audition for?
Tuck Everlasting
I loved the original novel. It's brilliant. The two movie versions are not good. I wanted to see the musical, but never got to it.
-
I'll have the lettuce and mushroom special, thanks.
And coffee.
-
I now sit here and wait on Access-a-Ride to notify me about my first trip.
-
A-a-R vibes, DR Elmore!
-
Dr. visit vibes, too, of course. But first things first. :)
-
I am sorry to hear about the extremely extreme heat wave in California. It's especially bad when you KNOW it's going to be there for X number of days, and that there's nothing you can do about it.
But power outages, too? Horrible.
I shall immediately refrain from reminiscing over "Santa Anas I have loved" and such things - at least until this nightmare is over. :)
-
Good morning, all.
How, in the name of all that is good and beautiful, can this be September????
YOIKS!
-
It's another grey day here in Johnston. Temp is 76 and humidity is 91%.
Yuck.
-
It is time I had my first cup of coffee.
Ta-ta for now. (That is TTFN in computerese, I think).
-
Good morning, friends.
-
~~~TRAVEL VIBES~~~ for DR elmore3003!
-
So, John G., if you have any mushroom suggestions ...
Mushroom pot pies
Puerto Rican mushroom and green olive salad
Mushroom pâté
I’ll think of more
Indeed.
-
I got my jungle mowed today. Yard looks much better.
-
Travel and doctor vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
DR GEORGE if you are cast as The Man In The Yellow Suit - do you know what your costume will be?
-
80 degrees here now at noon.....but no rain predicted. I shall stay indoors and work on the slide show for The Miracle Worker.
I am waiting for inspiration to strike so that I can make the slide unique.
-
DR George, did I miss rthe title of the show you were invited to audition for?
I think I posted it, but it's the musical version of Tuck Everlasting (https://castalbums.org/recordings/Tuck-Everlasting-2016-Original-Broadway-Cast/32066/). :)
-
DR George, did I miss rthe title of the show you were invited to audition for?
Tuck Everlasting
What he said. ;)
-
I love Sudden Fear......and Joan certainly goes to town - especially in the scene where she discovers a dictaphone tape with a plot twist recorded on it.....it's several minutes of listening and reacting and carrying on.....I think she had an Oscar nomination for this film.
And it is very nice how the climax counts on the two lead actresses wearing the same kind of coat and scarf and walking down the same street - AT THE SAME TIME.
And of course we get to see some San Francisco locations and some nifty 1952 Packard automobiles!
-
September!! Fall is my favorite season of the year! And now it's here - now it's here.....in theory anyway....
In my day, we didn't go to school until after Labor Day - but now the kids have been in school for at least three weeks.
I didn't know that there were two movie versions.
I look much better in blue, so I may have to bribe the costumer. ::)
;)
-
Everything went quite well today. I am happy to be home. Thank you for the vibes.
-
I really love Dr. Corrado; she gave me some foot stretching exzercises and recommended some shoes and sandals for my arches. She says I am not walking enough, and I shoul;d walk up and down the halls sevewral times a day.
-
From DR Singdaw:
And Sarah Palin loses. Also good news.
Thank goodness. Vibes it happens again in the next election.
-
From DR TCB:
Finally I remembered that I had internet access on my cell phone. I contacted the real Microsoft, who snuck in the back door and elimiNated the scammers.
Yay for Microsoft.
-
Darn...I was just about to make one more post last night to get us to Page Seven. Oh, well. It's all in the timing.
Well, maybe this first post will help get us to page seven today.
Wow!
-
Yuck.
91% is oppressive. At least the temp isn't higher.
-
So, John G., if you have any mushroom suggestions ...
Mushroom pot pies
Puerto Rican mushroom and green olive salad
Mushroom pâté
I’ll think of more
Sauté mushrooms and onions then add them to a salad made with the lettuce you purchased.
In my day, we didn't go to school until after Labor Day - but now the kids have been in school for at least three weeks.
I know, it never seems right.
I am sure that DR TCB would know about this better than I.
What is the best way for you to learn your lines, DR George? Are you a visual learner? Or an audio learner? Or some other sort?
I used to read my lines into a cassette tape and then carry the portable cassette player with me everywhere I went. I learned Pinter's The Birthday Party while I drove around Middletown during the Christmas holiday of 1970-71 and The Beggar's Opera while I worked on the costumes.
Both sound good.
Yum. Add spinach, even better.
In Drive My Car, the main character likes to drive while listening to his wife read all of the rest of the lines in his scenes.
What is the best way for you to learn your lines, DR George? Are you a visual learner? Or an audio learner? Or some other sort?
In previous shows (with much fewer lines), I would get a little note pad that had pages flip up. I'd write my cue line on the first page, then my line on the back side so that when I was looking the cue line, I couldn't see my line. The Agatha Christie play has WAY too many lines to write them all out. I'm going have to figure out what will work best. :-\
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven and a half hours of sleep. Was up at 11:30, went to the bank and cashed check and thankfully my bank wasn't crowded at all, so I deposited it and that's one less thing for tomorrow.
-
Just ordered a chicken Caesar from Stanley's.
-
Then it's a Zoom thing at three.
-
It is only 82 degrees right now.
-
It’s 83 plus 9 degrees here now.
-
It’s 83 minus 6 degrees here.
-
All this math is making my head hurt.
-
Soon we will be on page 83 minus 79.
-
Something to look forward to.
-
Soon.
-
Four.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Congrats to DR George on his upcoming roles.
-
Elmore, I'm glad you like your podiatrist so much. It's such a help! Vibes her advice helps you.
-
DR Chas, our mornings have had dew points in the low 60s, so a bit humid for those who are sensitive to it, but certainly not a dry Santa Ana. We don't have many Santa Anas anymore, but I don't know why.
-
96 today. Thankfully, the apartment is comfortable so far. Lots of little micro climates, though. The area for the first four feet in front of the window AC is cool. Step a few feet away and it is warm. The kitchen is often insufferable on hot days -- the cool air would have to make a hard right turn and it doesn't seem to know how to do that. I purchased several fans to supplement the AC and they do help. But we don't have a lot of humidity to deal with, thank God.
-
TTFN.
-
Soon we will be on page 83 minus 79.
;D
-
Soon.
I promise. Soon...
;)
-
Congrats to DR George on his upcoming roles.
Thanks, Jeanne! But as of right now, one of them is only a potential role. We were told that they want to let us know by next week. So, there's hope!
I was trying to find the detective show that DR Jeanne had mentioned. I thought it was Maisy & Dobbs, but it is actually McDonald & Dodds.
Probably why I couldn't find it initially. :o
-
Zoom done and we fixed the biggest script issue - which wasn't that hard and which really works much better now - it was a logic and timing thing.
-
That's great news, BK!
Do you plan to watch it?
-
'night
-
Yes, DR Jane - we had watched the previous seasons, and the first episode of the new season was great.
-
We have miles to go before we sleep.
-
But I shall be sleeping.
-
Tomorrow is the dawn of a holiday weekend.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Went to the McNay Art Museum tonight. Thursday is free night.
-
Georgia O’Keefe and the Modernists was a featured show.
Here’s one of O’Keefe’s paintings.
-
Ben Shahn’s Sing Sorrow depicts a musician crying as FDR’s funeral train passed.
-
Matisse’s Girl in Red.
-
These were among my favorites.
-
After dinner.
-
Now I’m home watching Devil in a Blue Dress.
-
It’s better than I remember it being. Very atmospheric. Excellent performances.
-
Onward!
Five!
-
I realized why the David Sedaris book wasn’t appealing. It’s too much about aging, death and dying. And it’s hitting too close to home to be all that funny.
-
Big doings at work today. I hope it’s all for the best. And I hope I can hold on until I can retire in a few years.
Very nice picture, John! And the pictures of the paintings were great, too!
I've got another 11 years until retirement. :-\
...at least. ::)
I probably won't be able to retire for another 10 years, if the market stays down.
-
Devil is as I remember it. It's a very good, atmospheric noir that becomes great the moment Don Cheadle appears. And whenever he's on the screen, the movie is enlivened by his electrifying presence. So, yes, it was worthy of the Criterion treatment, but it just misses being a classic.
Finished with my viewing, although I may go back and finish the movie I started.
-
I just might.
-
Ben Shahn’s Sing Sorrow depicts a musician crying as FDR’s funeral train passed.
I will take your word on the Ben Shahn.
-
I realized why the David Sedaris book wasn’t appealing. It’s too much about aging, death and dying. And it’s hitting too close to home to be all that funny.
if I looked as good as you, I sure wouldn’t worry about age.
-
The pain was so bad today that I was in tears.
-
Not very manly, but true.
-
I had taken two of my three pills by noon.
-
I watched the old Ruby Keeler / Warner Baxter 42nd STREET tonight.
-
Alli can say is thank God for Gower Champion!
-
The production I did was pretty good.
-
Pain abating vibes for TCB.
-
And George is where exactly?
-
Soitenly not here.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
I felt so sorry for our dancers. We did the show in the middle of the summer, and I think they had nine or ten big dance numbers-and no A/C.
-
Pain abating vibes for TCB.
Thank you, BK.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
And George is where exactly?
Probably off signing autographs.
Reconciling the Theater Artists Olympia checkbook. ::)
