Well, you've read the notes, the notes brought on the nudes, and now it is time for you to post until the nude cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BREVITY!
-
First after BK at 7:12 am?
-
You’d think it was a holiday or something
-
Good morning, all!
-
We’re probably going to look for a new bed for the room that was destroyed by the burst pipes in February
-
We’ve been sleeping in the spare room since then
-
Jean Leclerc, I believe, appeared on one of the soaps in the 1970s. I believe he was also one of the Frank Langella replacements in the Broadway production of Dracula.
-
Between putting things back together, hospitalization and recovery, dealing with immigration and naturalization and social security offices, Covid and recovery, car repairs and a new roof we just hadn’t gotten around to mattress shopping.
-
BK, Ethan gives a very good review to Lolita, My Love. Like most of his books, instead of verifying the information, he relies on his faulty memory. I found a couple of mistakes last night. I'm just thumbing through the book until I find a title that interests me.
-
I also found his review of my Dearest Enemy recording, which is misfiled before Dear Evan Hanson. Ir's a very nice review, which srprised me since my name is all over the booklet.
-
It’s been an interesting year
-
And you know the old curse, “may you live in interesting times”

After I take the garbage to the basement, I will work on my interlude sketch. This afternoon, I will brave the bathtub. I had a very difficult time getting out of it last time; my legs did not want to csupport me well enough to rise out of the tub, so today I'll take my cell phone into the bathroom with me.
-
My first refrigerator in this apartment lasted from 1980 to 2012. The replacement lasted less than ten years. The third and current one arrived in either 2020 or 2021 dfuring the pandemic.
-
And you know the old curse, “may you live in interesting times”
I've felt that way since I've known you, DR vixmom, only I consider it a blessing.

Good morning, friends.
-
It is a holiday. Contemplating my options.
-
Good morning to all. Hope everyone has a wonderful day
-
I have no plans for today.
-
Last night I watched the second episode of The Boleyns. I'm enjoying it immensely, but I wonder why on earth too many of the lady historian commentators make such an effort to look extremely bizarre. It's like they're entering an Edith Sitwell lookalike competition.
-
Good morning, all.
-
No real plans for the day. We did a bit of grilling yesterday because it was mostly nice, and today it’s cooler and rainy as befits the occasional holiday. I’m taking it easy, and I have a rehearsal tonight - fortunately just Carrie and Margaret White again.
-
Peter Filichia also has a book out.
And has anyone read Harvey Fierstein’s book?
I would like to get to all of these eventually.
-
Good morning, all.
-
So many books …
-
Let’s move on …
-
Two!
-
My test was negative. DR JANE no real symptoms, I just felt a bit down....no cough or sore throat or headache or fever.
-
At the meeting yesterday, everyone who has been on the board less than three years decided they would tell us how things should be done.
It was annoying. And Mr Most Annoying had the dumbest ideas. he thinks he is cast in plays because of his amazing talent. However, he is cast in nothing roles because we don't have a lot of guys....and most of the parts he plays are ones I have turned down. I don''t need to drive 70 miles a day to say a few lines.
And of course since he is in a show, he doesn't sign up to sell tickets or park cars......OR clean which is done AFTER the show, and which I do every night when I'm in a show.
And if I'm only in the second act, I work in the box office before the show.....
It's VERY annoying.
-
I am thinking about the TOD.....hmmmm......
I guess one would be:
The Twisted Nerve with many shots of Mr Hywel Bennett's posterior....
And Wild In The Streets where bare bosoms suddenly appear out of nowhere....and disappear likewise.
-
Everyone enjoy your day off!
-
Apropos of nothing, I just declared this a Benadryl day and took one. I was way too allergy-type-of-sniffly not to seek some chemical help for it, and I certainly can’t be that way tonight. Relief should be on its way soon.
-
Wow, DR Jrand72, y’all really have a classic Mr. Most Annoying there.
-
I bought a Frigid-Aire about eight years ago - and I like it a lot. I wanted a bottom drawer freezer - but none of the ones they had would fit in my refrigerator space.....
It is a bit noisy. I put some folded styrofoam above the motor in the freezer and that helps a lot.
-
Bottom drawer freezer is what we wanted, too. The other fridge had been a two-door side by side model. Or whatever you call it. I thought those were the thing to have years ago, not so much now.
-
So many books …
What are you, Ilona all of the sudden? :)
-
I like a bottom-drawer freezer fridge, as well. That is what we have now.
The French door models with the freezer on one side aren't wide enough to accommodate a frozen pizza.
-
Gorgeous weather here this weekend, today and all of the days. That's a blessing.
-

Good point. That, and any other thing of a certain size. They also let too much cold air spill out.
-
Peter Filichia also has a book out.
And has anyone read Harvey Fierstein’s book?
I would like to get to all of these eventually.
I've had Harvey's book for several months, but I read so slowly with my cataracts thast I haven't got to it yet.
-
So many theater-related books out and coming out. So to speak.
I have plans to read Harvey's book.
-
Just started "Shy." I like it on the Kindle, as you can click to read the footnotes contemporaneously.
-
Good afternoon!
-
Cloudy day so the sun is hiding.....so it's cooler.
A nice day for doing nothing.
-
My brother wants to talk to me. At least it's not the brother who always wants to borrow money.
I turned him down last month and he went to my sister who loaned him the money. I doubt that she will ever see it back.....

What are you, Ilona all of the sudden? :)
Yup. A trip to the library has made a new girl of me.
-
Watching a silly, dubbed Chinese comic book flick called A Writer’s Odyssey. I wish it were halfway as good as it thinks it is.
-

Mr. Most Annoying should be assigned some tasks.
-

I think I'd like a little bland fairly soon, if you don't mind. ::)

I'm wondering how much this Trump appointee was paid to side with the Orange Babboon?

Both my mom and sister have bottom drawer freezers. I'd like one on the next new fridge I get.

Exactly! My sister's previous fridge was a French door-type and she hated it! It was do narrow and too many things had to be turned sideways to fit...not a good thing when you have a cookie sheet of stuff that you want to freeze. :P

PAGE THREE THANK-A-SOCIALIST DANCE!! ;D
-
From DR John:
Anybody doing anything fun for Labor Day besides not going to Costco?
;D
-
Going to the market instead.
-
DR Vixmom if you find a mattress please let me know what you found. We also need a new one, to replace the one we purchased at the beginning of covid.
-
Obviously our mattress didn't last very long >:(
-
DR TCB I am sorry the CBD cream you find helpful is no longer available.
-
And you know the old curse, “may you live in interesting times”
I have often thought about this curse these last few years.
-
My test was negative. DR JANE no real symptoms, I just felt a bit down....no cough or sore throat or headache or fever.
Good for negative. I hope you are feeling better today.
-
I have been doing some research on mattresses myself.
Saatva has gotten really good reviews. But they're pretty pricey.
-
Starting to watch Mr. Malcom’s List. It’s a Regency drama, so think Jane Austen territory.
-
Make that comedy.
-
Well, big faux pas. A waltz is announced and the background music is in 4/4 time. Later, it’s 6/8 time. But they’re not waltzing.
-

I will look at them.
-
I like plush top mattresses but they are super high.
-
Keith wants to return to Sleep Number. I never really liked it though that was years ago and the technology has improved. It was light weight making it easier on my shoulder to change the sheets.
-
We are having a beautiful clear day.
-
We parked at Fred Meyer and took an extra long walk to Fort Vancouver.
-
I wanted to go into the pretty little garden at the fort before all the sunflowers were gone. It was lovely.
-
Had to water today. No more rain in the forecast and the plants were starting to get dry.
-
Mr. Malcom’s List comes highly recommended if you like romance in period dress.
-
Off to second dance lesson of the day.
-
The Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd has just been announced.
-
Josh Groban as Sweeney Todd.
Annaleigh Ashford as Mrs. Lovett.
And a 26-piece orchestra.
-

Sounds better than Mrs. Lovett on tuba. I’d give it a listen.
-
Both the director and musical supervisor won Tony Awards for Hamilton.
Thomas Kail and Alex Lacamoire.
-
Performance begin on Feb. 26.
-
AMEX presale starts tomorrow morning on Ticketmaster.
-
Pretty sure the original 1979 Broadway production had a 26-piece orchestra.
-
My brother never came down to my house. And now his SUV is gone....I thought he said he was going down to Kentucky to visit his son and his family....maybe he just wanted to say good bye.
-
I mowed the front lawn....because it was cool and there was a nice breeze.
It took an hour.....but it's DONE!
-
DR JOHN G Mr Most Annoying is given tasks to do and he just ignores them making more work for everyone else.
-
DR VIXMOM now that I am driving the backroads to the theeder, I have seen two mattresses lying in ditches beside the road.
They are both full size it seems.....want to me to pick one up for you?
-

Maybe, and then was late and wanted to leave.

After completing Jamie Ford's latest novel I thought of DR Laura while reading the author's notes of appreciation to people.
-
My marvelous wife, Leesha, with her Red Pen of Destiny. I once posted photos of manuscript pages that she had read and marked up. The response on social media was "OMG! JAMIE'S WIFE TOOK HIM TO THE WOODSHED!" But it's always been love. Tough love, when I needed it most.
-
I somehow doubt DR Laura was feeling love.
-
Today was relaxing and a ME day, which was awfully nice.
-
We are working our way through the Margaret Rutherford "Miss Marple" movies from the 1960's.
-
She was in her 70s when she made these films!
-
If I make it my 70s, I hope I'm as spry as she!

We discovered a wonderful new path through woods just along the edge of the Mississippi - flat, shaded, gorgeous and with great views. Also sparsely traveled. We'll be going back. It's only minutes from our home.
-
But despite doing nothing of consequence today, I find I'm exhausted.
-
Good night, friends.

I miss walks and hikes close to home.

Those are simply marvelous.
-
Starting Hannah and Her Sisters. It’s been ages.
-
I have made it 90% through Blood Meridian. Cormac McCarthy is a brilliant writer. His descriptions are poetic, the language is transporting. But, OMG, everything is so bleak. The violence is unsettling (as it’s supposed to be), the landscape is harsh and unforgiving. The only relief for some seems to come from alcohol. It’s sheer hell. No wonder I haven’t read him in more than 10 years. I don’t need to subject myself to it.
-
Maybe that’s why Mr. Malcom’s List was so appealing.
-
Hannah and Her Sisters is a tonic.
-
And I love the score.
-
Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered is used three or four times.
-
Bobby Short playing Cole Porter.
-
What is this page four malarkey?
-
Four is a chore.
-
And a bore.
-
And what’s more …
-
Four is an eyesore.
-
One more …
-
Five!
-
Five is alive.

i had issues with my TV this afternoon and evening: I was re-watching "Storm of the Century" on Hulu, and I got a buffering issue followed by an error message telling me to bail out and try again. Hulu would NOT come back up.
I next went to Amazon Prime where I began re-watching the 1995 "Pride and Prejudice" (Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle). Happily, it played through with only one hiccup. The screen froze and the buffering started up. I bailed and tried again, and all went well after that.
I hate it when that happens. It's usually near the end of whatever I am watching, too.
-
My Labor Day was dreary, otherwise, although the weekend wasn't a complete wash. I had a good Zoom chat yesterday, and that was followed by a call from my former boss. We always got along splendidly and we stay in touch. Then, last night, I got a lengthy e-mail from the always interesting Mike Lonzo, whom I believe Bruce knows.
Denny came by and cut my grass this morning. It looks splendiferous.
I had spaghetti and meat balls for lunch. Very tasty.
And now, it's my bed time. I hope everyone had a splendid weekend and Labor Day holiday.
-
Oh! I haven't felt tip-top for a couple of days, so I tested for COVID-19.
It was negative. So...I guess I have the post-birthday blahs.
-
Oh, yes: Clemson beat Georgia Tech in football tonight 41-10. It was a good first game for the Tigers.
Yes, I root for Clemson.
-

A really dumb question: is the Mississippi River as muddy farther up north than it is in New Oleans ?
-
When I took one of the trans-Atlantic cruises, we sailed out of New Orleans, before I boarded the ship I walked down the dock to get a good photo of the ship.
-
I had never seen the Mighty Mississippi before. I was totally shocked. It looked like our ship was resting in a very large vat of chocolate milk.
-
I am quite serious. I kept looking for the fat German kid from WILLIE WANKA to float by.
-
It was quite a disappointment.
-
And I love the score.
6 to 3?
-
We’re probably going to look for a new bed for the room that was destroyed by the burst pipes in February
You are in luck. I saw several TV commercials for mattress stores saying that this is their big yearly anniversary sale. Or maybe they said it was their big weekly anniversary sale?
-
Why do they do that? Every week they are all advertising their big saleS. Week after week.
-
Starting to watch Mr. Malcom’s List. It’s a Regency drama, so think Jane Austen territory.
That reminds me that one of my dreams last night involved THE LIST OF ADRIAN MESSENGER. That is the only part of the dream that I remember.
-
Once again, no George. You'd think it was a holiday or something. Most unseemly to be this low.
-
Of course, in my occasional senility, I was sure I'd posted when I got up - I remembered saying I'd gotten nine hours of sleep. But there is no such posting. I gotta tell you.
-
So, I'm partly to blame for this very low posting day.
-
Oh yes, I'm partly to blame.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I know this because I just posted them and there they were.
-
Has anyone noticed that George is in absentia?
-
I have.
-
Once again, no George. You'd think it was a holiday or something. Most unseemly to be this low.
Don’t knock it. Up until a few months ago, this would have been a record-setting day.
-
I put the blame on Mame, I put the blame on Rio, and on the rather ignorant judge who completely ignored the rule of law yesterday and who should be censured and ousted for doing so.
-
My hand are hurting too much to keep holding this iPad.
-
There, I've said it and I'm glad.
-
I'll just make another 100 posts.
-
I could.
-
I've done it before.
-
I can do it again.
-
I put the blame on Mame, I put the blame on Rio, and on the rather ignorant judge who completely ignored the rule of law yesterday and who should be censured and ousted for doing so.
Huh?
