And the word of the day is: PARADISE!
It’s spelled Aileen Cannon.
She’s a disgrace, no matter how she spells it.
I feel the same way about heat that DR Jeanne does.
I shut myself inside with the AC blasting.
When I lived in Arizona, I passed out on a regular basis. It was 115 degrees most of the summer.
I worked for an airline back then.
We actually had to close the Phoenix airport one day when temps hit 122 degrees.
There was concern over tires bursting when landing.
Enjoy your first read-through of A Murder Is Announced!
You have the lead role in this, correct?
Congrats again!
George have you heard about a show on Broadway that combines hypnosis with improv?
Colin Mochrie, from Whose Line is it Anyway?, brings audience members up to the stage.
Tonight, Carolee Carmello was chosen to participate.
I don’t know if either guy knew that she was well known.
It’s getting great reviews.
Would be fun to be involved.
I also love Whose Line.
We manged to attend every single show taping in L.A.
Best time ever.
With this guy, I think you could be hypnotized, George.
Since we're all fashion plates here at HHW.
I shall now make my first visit to the retail outlets in about 10 days.....who knows what I will find or buy?
I think the only grindhouse movies I ever saw were the Troma films like The Toxic Avenger.
In breaking news, the supermarket was selling Special Edition pretzels in the shape of footballs.
I did enjoy both film halves of Grindhouse, the movies that Quentin Tarrantino and Robert Rodriguez made.
I have made it 90% through Blood Meridian. Cormac McCarthy is a brilliant writer. His descriptions are poetic, the language is transporting. But, OMG, everything is so bleak. The violence is unsettling (as it’s supposed to be), the landscape is harsh and unforgiving. The only relief for some seems to come from alcohol. It’s sheer hell. No wonder I haven’t read him in more than 10 years. I don’t need to subject myself to it.
I am quite serious. I kept looking for the fat German kid from WILLIE WANKA to float by.

~~~ LINE-LEARNING VIBES OF ENHANCED STRENGTH~~~ for DR George!!!!
My goodness the cost was astronomical
Won’t be delivered until nearly Halloween
My brother's SUV is in his driveway - but I think someone was going to pick them up and drive them southward.
We shall see what happens.
Well my brother did not go to Kentucky. He is having some minor surgery on Friday morning and they may have to put in a stent in his heart.....so there you are.....
I have only read The Road, as I feared this would be the case.
I got my apron out of retirement this morning to bake for a gathering tonight.
I always make gluten-free treats from a mix so I don't accidentally make a mistake. I'm very careful about preparing them. I got a new mix today: some kind of chocolate chip cookie made by a major brand.
They were so fragile when they came out of the oven a couple of them split. I pushed them back together hoping they'll stick together when cool. But one of them fell completely apart. So I tasted it. My goodness! It was AWFUL. Just AWFUL. I don't even know if I'll put them out tonight.
The mix was over $5, and it made 12 cookies.
It’s supposed to last 15-20 years though, so I suppose it’s the last time we’ll be buying a mattress
A LLUL is a LULL spelled backward.
Well, the seasons they are a-changin'.
Following weeks or months (it felt like months) of hot weather and drought conditions, we are welcoming fall with temps in the high 60s, and 24 to 36 hours of nonstop rain. Flash flood warnings abound, and fortunately (KNOCK WOOD) this house is on a hill and we do not have flooding problems. But the driving last night was some of the worst rain-at-night driving I've known. Not THE worst, but among the worst.
And this morning at 6:40 am, I heard a beep from something in the room, and then the generator started up. Power outage! But it lasted only one minute, and so far, there has been no repeat of it.
I mean, I'll ruin my reputation as a baker if I put those gluten-free things out. They may go in the trash.
And here I thought you were going to tell us that the mysterious missing baking pans have reappeared.
The queen-size mattress that I have is a hand-me-down that I got from my sister's boyfriend shortly after (around the time?) I moved into my condo 16 years ago.
Absolutely trash them.
Is it still comfortable?
It is. I put a memory foam mattress topper on it, and it's helped to keep it comfortable.
They dismissed everyone from jury duty this afternoon.
They're saying we may get a hurricane here this weekend. Arizonans are the only people who welcome hurricanes.
Page 6 already?!
Do you have to return tomorrow?
DR ELMORE I tried to respond to your Personal Message, but I messed it up.
But thanks.
DR Jane, apparently Saatva makes traditional inner spring mattresses but operates on a direct-to-consumer distribution model. So it's not a mattress in a box like many others, it's better - but it seemed interesting.
George, yes, the entire season of Whose Line was taped live over 3 weekends.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, from 4P-10P each day.
The audience members were not allowed to leave.
One of the tapings took place around 9/11.
We took in several out-of-towners that were stranded when all airports closed.
There are some things that I prefer to try out in person before I buy. Mattresses and shoes being two.
They dismissed everyone from jury duty this afternoon.
Do you have to return tomorrow?
No more. Done for two years.
As far as the actual tapings, we went home every night, and returned the next afternoon.
Most of each show ended up being cut, as some of the language used was not allowed to be broadcast. 😄
They will be performing at the Washington State Fair in Puyallup @6PM on Saturday, Sept. 24.
Hi, Jane.
We all developed close friendships during the tapings of Whose Line is it Anyway.
Hi, Jane.
We all developed close friendships during the tapings of Whose Line is it Anyway.
So all of the people who lived in the L.A. area took in as many stranded friends as possible.
We comforted our friends from Canada who were totally freaked out.
You know how laid back most people are in SoCal. 😊
I received notification today that two books are available for me to check out.
The Bookshop of Second Chances
and
The Littlest Library
I think I preferred Bookshop. Both are fairly similar in outline.
What is this page nine malarkey?
Jane I don’t remember the name of our mattress
