Well, you've read the notes, the notes had part two of the lovely miracle and other notions, and now it is time for you to post until the lovely cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CANTRIP!
-
Congrats on the lovely (but not quite as lovely as you were hoping for) miracle, BK!
-
And especially the nine hours of sleep with no tummy issues at all!

Good morning, all!

Mornings involving Access-a-Ride angst are fraught and this morning has begun on a high noter. First, Annabelle would not eat breakfast.
Then Stella managed to get one of her front paws stuck in a roach glue trap. That meant catching her, removing the trazp, and washing the paw, all of which were ordeals. I am rather concerned that I will return and find hewr dead or very sick with vomit to clean up everywhere.
-
Yes, DR singdaw, that's me in the video!
-
I am no fan of the National Theatre production of Oklahoma! with Hugh Jackman. Trevor Nunn does not do musicals well and Susan Stroman is not Agnes deMille. Give me the movie instead.
I was very fortunate to see two producfions in which Richard Rodgers was involved, the 1969 Lincoln Center production with Bruce Yarnell, Lee Beery, Leroy Reams, April Shawhan, Margaret Hamilton, and Spiro Malas (I think); the 1979 production at the Palace Theatre, which I saw with DR Ginny in 1980.
-
Good morning, friends.

Yes, DR singdaw, that's me in the video!
And how great it is to hear him telling that story. I wonder if there are other such moments captured on video.

Britt-Marie Was Here was highly enjoyable, but the book was better. I wish I had seen the movie first.

Good morning. I couldn't sleep so I got up very early. It's going to be a long day. I got inspired to do some decluttering, so it has been a productive day, even this early.
-
And I wait for Access-a-Ride.
-
Rain today.

Well, I'm not making my appointment, thanks to AAR. Today the driver called me and toldme he was outside. I happened to be waiting in tghe lobby so I said I would be out in about three minutes.
-
I stepped outside onto the sidewalk, and there was no sign of a car or driver waiting, so I called the number for the driver, who sounded Chinese or Japanese ands barely spoke English. I asked where he was and he said At The Corner. I said which corner, and all he did was repeat The Corner over and over. I called Access-a-Ride, and told them we had a problem. AAR insisted he was on location, and I rerpeated, No, I am on location.
-
I finally spoke to a young man with sense and since it was now too late, I asked him to cancel my trip, came back nside the building, called the docotr and rescheduled for Nov. 6. Color me really truly pissed.
-
Terrible, DR Elmore.
Words fail me. Though maybe not quite as much as they failed that driver.
-
Tuesday morning greetings! Things are looking up here - the dryer repair guy is coming Thursday and window repair guy is coming Friday.
-
Ladies and germs, the bit of photographic evidence I was waiting on -- the CARRIE band.
We just managed to cram the 7-player off-Broadway scoring (less the acoustic bass preferred on one number) into the approx. 8'x16' space formerly known as the Stage Left wings. Or, um... wing. But it worked, damn it. (Click to enbiggen.)
-
Nice crowd shot, ChasSmith.
-
I’d like to see a movie made of Shy.
-
Nice crowd shot, ChasSmith.
Thank you, and yes indeed it is a crowd shot. The instruments are two keyboards (plus laptops and other gear), cello, electric bass, drums, and a total of six guitars for two players.

Very nice photo DR CHAS SMITH

Good Morning!
-
What shall I do with today?
-
It is a very pretty day here today.
-
The Herschel Walker political ads are sickening.
He is so unqualified for anything, much less politics.
-
TV news seems to be obsessing over mid-terms. I thought we had earned some relief after the 2020 election cycle, but they have gone above and beyond.
The political ads are sickening.
The analyses of whether all will be lost to the democrats or whether the republicans will have their butts handed to them on a platter is dismally disgusting.
I HATE POLITICS!!!
-
Where am I?
Who are you?

-
What shall I do with today?
I have discovered a mission: I am trying to subscribe to a health care plan for the new year.
Since retirement, I have been covered only for prescriptions.
As a military retiree, I have VA medical coverage. My VA doctor is in Aiken SC (25 miles away) and a VA hospital is in Augusta GA (27 miles away).
My United Health Care prescription coverage was taken out at retirement to cover initial costs I might incur before hooking up with local VA. For five years, it has been mostly a waste, but my medical benefit from County of Alameda has covered the cost. The County retirement plan affords me a generous allowance for medical coverage, and I have stupidly not been using it. I only get reimbursed for what gets used, so I need to maximize usage.
I want to be able to go to non-VA hospitals. I have been very impressed with my local VA care, but I would rather not be hospitalized there. I want coverage that will pay for ambulance service to a hospital. Right now, all would be out of pocket.
That is my goal. We are in the enrollment period right now. My provider says I can enroll online in about 15 minutes, or I can call and take an hour or more.
I have been online for nearly two hours and still cannot make heads or tails of what I see, so I am now waiting for someone to call me to explain what it is I am looking at.
Such is life in very rural South Carolina.

From DR John:
I think that's her best book. I love the musical version.
I didn't know there was a musical version of Giant. I think the book will make for a good discussion.
-
I hope I can vote today.
I feel very lucky that Washington is a total mail-in-ballot state. There can't be any voter intimidation because anyone can mail their ballot at anytime and who'd know??
-
From Ron:
On a positive note, Glynis Johns remains alive and celebrated her 99th birthday a week or so ago.
Wonderful.

From Ron:
Some restaurants serve it with sweet syrups to apply as you desire.
I gave my waiter a very dirty look and told him to remove them at once.
Funny.

Right now I am trying to keep my spirits up though I am very worried we will have to cancel our trip to see Freyja. This has happened too many times since she was born :(
-
Likely the day before, or even the same day, we got vaccinated Keith picked up covid germs.
-
Yesterday he tested positive for covid.
-
Last night he started Paxlovid.
-
Please, vibes I stay well and that he doesn't rebound right when we are leaving town.
-
Looking at his side effects from Paxlovid I am not sure I should take it with my issues. I would pick up the script and decide later.
-
If I get sick I cannot afford to lose anymore weight, another concern for me.
-
We have windows open for fresh air. He has his office and the guest bedroom and bathroom. We are wearing masks when going near each other. I wish I had begun wearing a mask when we only thought he had a cold.

Dip me and fry me!!!
After FOUR HOURS on the phone trying to make sense of the medical options offered me, the licensed advisor I was talking with asked me what more I needed than what I am already covered for.
I told her I was only covered for prescriptions.
She said, NO, I am also covered for AARP Plan F.
What, I asked, is that?
She asked if I didn't have a card for Plan F. I told her no.
She then told me Plan F covers every single thing I was looking for and pays 100%. And, she said I've been covered since September 2017!!!
Who KNEW???? I didn't!
She connected me with AARP and requested they send me a card and details on what Plan F covers.
And that, as they say, is THAT!

Yesterday he tested positive for covid.
Oh, no!

That’s actually fantastic news, DR Ron, but it’s incredible that they’d never notified you and sent you the card and any other info on it.
-
DRs Ginny and vixmom, thirteen years ago today we all saw Finian's Rainbow and went for pizza after the matinee.
O M G !! :)
-
I believe Darrell Brooks is on the phone with outside people advising him on his sovereign citizen BS, as he's now spouting new stuff and someone has taught him how to pronounce "tacit" - And he's already disrupted the proceedings endlessly and has been removed from the courtroom. He is VILE and if you anagram vile you get EVIL.
-
Agreed MR BK - and stupid....and a killer....
-
50 Foot Woman on Blu-Ray???
How can perfection be improved upon?
-
Vibes for KEITH.....oh my!
-
Congrats DR RON PULLIAM.....and it only took 4 hours!
-
We are waiting for the State to begin its closing arguments. I do not know how Darrell Brooks plans to proceed since he is completely beyond understanding that his closing CANNOT include references to ANYTHING that was NOT disclosed in the testimony of the witnesses.
He seems to think that he can say any and all things he wishes....including his sovereign citizen BS that includes any flag with a yellow fringe is NOT a true U.S. Flag.....
-
And yes I agree that he is being coached between sessions by someone who is almost as delusional as he is....if that is possible.
-

STAY HEALTHY VIBES FOR JANE!!!
Thank you. So far, so good but it is still early. We figure he got sick Sunday night, giving me three days for the vaccination to offer some protection.
-
Please, vibes I stay well and that he doesn't rebound right when we are leaving town.
~~~Vibes for Jane!!~~~
Thanks, and hopefully I am also not rebounding then :)
-
Vibes for KEITH.....oh my!
Thank you. Most bothersome for him is his cough. Otherwise it wouldn't be too bad.
-
State is doing its closing - very well. Facts. He's objected from the other courtroom several times, all overruled, of course. He does not understand how any of this works.
-
It will be interesting to see if he gets more than twenty seconds into his closing before being removed.
-
And yes I agree that he is being coached between sessions by someone who is almost as delusional as he is....if that is possible.
Amazing. Maybe it is a family member.
-
Did the judge ever say to him that being an idiot he needs a lawyer?
-
Good for you, DR Ron Pulliam. That is what I do all day (advise people about health insurance), but I'm not certified to counsel on Medicare plans.
-
~~~STRONGEST POSSIBLE HEALTH VIBES & XYLOPHONES~~~ for DR Jane and DH Keith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Sorry about this morning, DR elmore3003. It's a good thing that you (and your health care providers) are flexible.
-
So if I'm a sovereign citizen, does that mean I don't have to pay taxes?
-
~~~STRONGEST POSSIBLE HEALTH VIBES & XYLOPHONES~~~ for DR Jane and DH Keith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Much appreciated.
-
So if I'm a sovereign citizen, does that mean I don't have to pay taxes?
;D
-
Has this sovereign citizen explained why he drove his car into the parade?
-
I am imagining the fastest guilty verdict ever, except they will have to pretend to take their time discussing it.
-
Health vibes for DR JANE.
Yes DR JANE.....it means that among other things.....
-
Yes we shall see in a few minutes how far DB gets in his closing statement......
-
Health vibes for DR JANE.
Yes DR JANE.....it means that among other things.....
Thank you.
Are you referring to Singdaw's question regarding taxes?
-
Oh yes...sorry DR JANE!
-
Jury in.....less than three minutes later.....jury out.....
-
He's reprehensible. And delaying. He's toast. The prosecution did a great job. He has to do his closing argument or he's done. She has to stop him and his BS - this is all in front of the jury.
-
Oh yes...sorry DR JANE!
I did respond to his post :)
-
He's making himself look like a complete fool.
-
I find the posts about the trial interesting, especially since I have not been following it.
-
Oops, almost left my office without my mask on ::)
-
I am very pleased that Adidas dropped Kanye West.
-
For sure, DR Jane. In my opinion, they didn't drop him fast enough. But at least they did.
-
Good afternoon.
-
He's literally trying to delay so he doesn't have to do his argument today, so he can get yet more inane advice from some idiot. The judge is now reading from the law - he doesn't care - he does NOT care. And enough is enough. At this point, she needs to end this right now. She's trying to do what she needs to do to avoid mistrial - but he will never stop. Ever. So she needs to tell him to close or he forfeits his right to close. It's time.
-
DR Laura - I saw a recipe for creamed corn cornbread, which sounded interesting.
-
Oh dear. I hope Keith feels better soon and that Jane doesn't get sick.
-
DR Laura - I saw a recipe for creamed corn cornbread, which sounded interesting.
I expect a full report.
-
That sounds good, Singdaw. I'd eat that.
-
And a sample.
-
I voted.
-
For sure, DR Jane. In my opinion, they didn't drop him fast enough. But at least they did.
I felt they gave a reasonable explanation for the delay.
-
I watched a little bit of the guy arguing with the judge. What a maroon.
-
The line wasn’t too bad. Less than 20 minutes.
-
Oh dear. I hope Keith feels better soon and that Jane doesn't get sick.
Thank you.
-
I watched a little bit of the guy arguing with the judge. What a maroon.
I hope you are wrong that it will be declared a mistrial. I am sure you won't mind if you are wrong ;)
-
I'd hate to be on that jury. Enough time is wasted, even when everyone is being civil.
-
Armed men have been seen filming voters here.
-
Well, unless he gets the death penalty, thus an automatic appeal, he'll have to pay for an appeal himself. I have no idea what transcript rates are these days. I'm sure it will be expensive.
-
I am sure there are extremist and hate groups willing to throw money at that.
-
Sadly.
-
Page Six.
-
DR Laura and DR John G., here's that recipe:
Creamed Corn Cornbread - Southern Bite (https://southernbite.com/creamed-corn-cornbread/)
-
Yesterday he tested positive for covid.
Oh, no, I’m so sorry, DR Jane!
-
DRs Ginny and vixmom, thirteen years ago today we all saw Finian's Rainbow and went for pizza after the matinee.
How can that have been 13 years ago???
-
DRs Ginny and vixmom, thirteen years ago today we all saw Finian's Rainbow and went for pizza after the matinee.
Ginny, you look like your husband.
LOL - I’m thinking maybe I took the picture…
-
Contrary to how it looked, I was not sitting here like so much fish all afternoon. Just forgot to log out when we left the house to:
—eat lunch at The Athenian
—shop at Target
—eat dessert at The Peach Cobbler Factory (a major disappointment)
—deposit our absentee ballots in the drop box at the board of elections
-
Now he's giving a sermon. And he's intent on taking every second of his one hour. The prosecution took about thirty-five minutes.
-
And tears - for HIMSELF. Shame on him. Nothing was his fault, it's all about him.
-
He has now said "do what's right" a dozen times and cannot stop talking. And on he goes and on he goes - his hour surely must be up soon. Now he's on about his kids again. Your kids are not germane to this trial, pal.
-
He knows this is the last chance to ever talk in public and he will not stop. Now he's talking about a letter he got from his kid. He's not fooling anyone - not the fake tears, not his kids, not "me, me, me."
-
"Before I close" then goes on to repeat everything he's said. SHUT UP already. "Before I close" is now five minutes ago.
-
"Do what's right" - again. And still repeating everything he said earlier ad nauseam.
-
"Before I close" - still talking.
-
"Whatever you decide, make sure you can live with it." How about the people who were killed and injured? Remember them?
-
He is literally giving a sermon now. "Before I close." Ten minutes ago.
-
This has to be over an hour now.
-
And he's still talking.
-
So sad and scary. I am sorry.
DR Laura and DR John G., here's that recipe:
Creamed Corn Cornbread - Southern Bite (https://southernbite.com/creamed-corn-cornbread/)
I could go for some of that right now.
-
Yesterday he tested positive for covid.
Oh, no, I’m so sorry, DR Jane!
Thank you.
-
But the prosecution gets the last word and they are doing just what they need to do - he's yakking about HIS kids, HIS life, HIS tragedy - and never mentions the people he injured and killed. But that's why you have lawyers.
-
Now he's giving a sermon. And he's intent on taking every second of his one hour. The prosecution took about thirty-five minutes.
A sermon, oh my.
Yay.
-
In case I am sick tomorrow I decided to clean the refrigerator today, and then did a few kitchen drawers.
-
Before I close....
The DA gave a great suggestion to the judge and the judge was quick to accept it - and so the trial moved on......
Yup his closing statement was so self serving - I thought for a minute he was a Kardashian......
-
DR LAURA the Death Penalty is not on the table......
-
Now the judge reads the jury the charges and their options - seventy-six charges - will be going on for some time.
-
Now the judge reads the jury the charges and their options - seventy-six charges - will be going on for some time.
Wow, that is a lot of charges.
-
What was the great suggestion the DA gave to the judge?
-
The judge had ordered him not to discuss jury nullification in his closing statement - he said he was going to ......round and round with his disagreeing with every legal precedent she gave him....arguing.
DA said: "Why don't we let him start his statement - he'll say it --- I will object you can sustain and ask him to move on...."
Judge said: "We can certainly try it....."
Jury in.....he stands up starts to yap about it...DA objects - Judge sustains....and HE GOES ON......
-
...to the crybaby statement......
LOL. The guy seems unstoppable.
-
Jury is deliberating. And this seemingly unbalanced person was just JOKING with the judge like he was in middle school.
-
His new thing is how can there be sixty-seven charges of reckless endangerment if sixty-seven people didn't testify. THAT is what this poor judge has been dealing with for three weeks.
-
He'll be back in thirty minutes because the judge needs to make a record of something or other and you can bet he'll be yapping the entire time. Then the only other time she'll have to put up with him is IF the jury has any questions or wants to see any exhibits, but she's being properly tough now and will move things along.
-
The defendant?
It has arrived!! ;D
Okay, let's try this - a super rare 10-inch privately pressed record boldly titled: PREVIEW. Then the following description: This is a recorded preview, made in a limited edition for private use only, of six of the songs from Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella," starring Julie Andrews. "Cinderella," a ninety-minute original with music by Richard Rodgers, book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein, II, will be broadcast in color on Sunday, March 31, 1957, 8:00 to 9:30 P.M. EST. over the CBS Television Network. This recording, featuring Julie Andrews with Richard Rodgers at the piano, is not for sale, cannot be used for broadcast purposes, and is in every sense of the word a collector's item.
I've never seen any other copies of this in all my years of my collecting. Record seems to be in excellent shape. As rare as hen's teeth. If interested, PM me here.
-
Nice.
-
That does sound like a true collector's item.
-
Like DR Jane, I appreciate the trial posts because I could never bear to watch it directly.
-
I think we're close.
-
The time is nigh...
-
EIGHT!
-
I wonder what The Randy Vicar would say about THAT?
-
Good night, friends.
-
Loving Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris. It’s light. It knows what it’s about. And Lesley Manville is perfect.
-
Neither could I, plus I need subtitles to know what was said.
-
'night
“You dare to follow your dreams, Mrs Harris. Bravo.”
Dip me and fry me!!!
After FOUR HOURS on the phone trying to make sense of the medical options offered me, the licensed advisor I was talking with asked me what more I needed than what I am already covered for.
I told her I was only covered for prescriptions.
She said, NO, I am also covered for AARP Plan F.
What, I asked, is that?
She asked if I didn't have a card for Plan F. I told her no.
She then told me Plan F covers every single thing I was looking for and pays 100%. And, she said I've been covered since September 2017!!!
Who KNEW???? I didn't!
She connected me with AARP and requested they send me a card and details on what Plan F covers.
And that, as they say, is THAT!
:o They should have sent you updated information every year.
At least!! All I ever get from them are car insurance offers and requests for money to help seniors who are struggling.
Loving Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris. It’s light. It knows what it’s about. And Lesley Manville is perfect.
I never really knew who Manville was until I saw here on Graham Norton's show a few weeks back. And that despite her having been nominated for an Oscar some time back. Well, not so surprising since I don't put much store in Oscars any longer.
She was promoting "Mrs. Harris...." and the clip they showed looked delightful.
And now she's also starring in "Magpie Murders" on PBS.
ATTN DR ELMO: I watched the second part yesterday, and I must say I'm hooked.
-
I will get to Magpie soon.
-
Now the judge reads the jury the charges and their options - seventy-six charges - will be going on for some time.
What channel are you guys watching this trial on????
-
Mrs. Harris reminded me of Mrs. Pettigrew, a movie I also loved.
-
DRs Ginny and vixmom, thirteen years ago today we all saw Finian's Rainbow and went for pizza after the matinee.
That was a fun day!
Gosh I was so thin!
-
I got too many series in. Season one of both Abbott Elementary and White Lotus arrived today.
-
I saw Ms. Manville here at the Wallis in Beverly Hills doing Long Day's Journey into Night - simply put, one of the greatest performances I've ever seen anywhere.
-
Back from a nice dinner with one of our Indiegogo contributors, who got all his lovely stuff.
-
Filled up the motor car with gas. There was a little less than a quarter of a tank left - it cost eighty bucks to fill it. And thankfully, this station just up the street here is now the lowest priced station I've seen, with gas a full dollar less than other stations. First time putting gas in the car in about five or six weeks.
-
Good night, all.
-
We is on page eight.
-
We is.
-
Don't even argue about it.
-
The big question is do I want to watch anything.
-
The big answer is I don't know.
-
I guess I should try and sleep
-
How many posts to 9 I wonder?
-
I guess I should find out
-
I hope TCB is feeling better
-
I am very worried about him
-
Sending vibes and prayers for our Tom
-
Ginny will it be very expensive to replace your window?
-
I wonder if Plan F is available for the likes of me
-
Is it a supplemental plan ?
-
I guess I should look into all that stuff
-
Oh, I crossed over to 9 abd didn’t even realize I had done so
-
Former DR WFO will be attending the Jason Graae show with me
-
I am looking forward to finally seeing him in person
-
Well guess I’ve whittered on enough
-
Good night folks
-
Have a pleasant tomorrow
Nice! I'm sure you'll both have a great time!
After work, I went to my friend Shelly's house (she just lives one building away in our condo complex) and we chatted and played a game of Phase 10. I won. :)
-
Then, since I brought my script with me, she ran lines with me.
-
I had no problems with the parts that we went through...not the ending reveal, though!
-
I am no fan of the National Theatre production of Oklahoma! with Hugh Jackman. Trevor Nunn does not do musicals well and Susan Stroman is not Agnes deMille. Give me the movie instead.
I was very fortunate to see two producfions in which Richard Rodgers was involved, the 1969 Lincoln Center production with Bruce Yarnell, Lee Beery, Leroy Reams, April Shawhan, Margaret Hamilton, and Spiro Malas (I think); the 1979 production at the Palace Theatre, which I saw with DR Ginny in 1980.
Wow! Ginny was in OKLAHOMA on Broadway in 1980! And at The Palace.
-
I was going to apologize for missing yesterday, but I guess you didn’t miss me.
-
I was cold, so I got under the covers to watch TV last night. That was around 7:00p.m., and I woke up at 2:30 a.m.
-
Sending vibes and prayers for our TCB and hoping he’ll find some relief for his carpal tunnel pain soon l
They collaborated with WDR Funkhausorchester and recorded some new songs and rerecorded some of their older tunes.
I read that as Dr. Frankenfurter.
Oh good, I thought it was just my frazzled brain.
Some of us noted your absence, TCB.
-
Yes we did.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
I've read 'em.
There they were.
